Toxim ir' Kinain |

My compliment was in reference to our previous conversation where I questioned Ardanto's fashion sense. I figure you caught it, or rather Ardanto caught it, but wanted to be sure.
"Of course, Captain. If you could express to her how even a short stop at the island would prove greatly beneficial later, I'm sure she'll be willing to let us see the top."
I thought Ruja was a floating island. I'll have to go back through the posts to check that out.
"I don't think that the saboteur is ineffective, I think our captain is just that good. A captain of lesser ability would have had far more trouble from the problems we've had to face thus far. He is as annoying as a cricket that you know is there but can't find. That is a difficult trick to pull off for any length of time and he's done so for a more than a month. Don't underestimate this fellow, Captain."

"Last time you said, you had much to think about.
Did you come to any conclusions? Have you found your faith? Do you now have something to believe in?"
Looking the priest in the eyes he inquires: "Do you dare to be a better man?"

The small hallow does not carry much, a few small sacks of coins, a few bottles of some unknown substance, a slender wand like crystal and two very familiar looking silver boxes

Skald seems to be no where around. The deck is deserted except Jagred at the wheel and two new crewmen v and Bran tending duties

"Where be every one?" She asks quietly, thinking back to most times when there is always a bustle of bodies working hard at doing all the things which keep a ship running well and true. Her face turns to Avner,
"Would dis be your doin', den?" She asks openly, "You be pickin' a strange way of doin' t'ings..." She muses. "No, it be you who be goin' over de side first, I am wantin' to see if you be made of de right stuff....." She waves a finger at Avner, 'Don' be expectin' me to dive in a be savin' your self if ye ken-naught swim well enough." She warns the man.

"So you don't have faith in yourself as well... you need that.
I can tell you something. Something I think I already said last time we talked: Everyone can be something better. But, it is crucial that you believe it.
I recited a quote for you last time, remember? I have another one for you:"
Every Warrior of the Light has felt afraid of going into battle.
Every Warrior of the Light has, at some time in the past, lied or betrayed someone.
Every Warrior of the Light has trodded a path that was not his.
Every Warrior of the Light has suffered for the most trivial of reasons.
Every Warrior of the Light has, at least once, believed that he was not a Warrior of the Light.
Every Warrior of the Light has failed in his spiritual duties.
Every Warrior of the Light has said 'yes' when he wanted to say 'no'.
Every Warrior of the Light has hurt someone he loved. That is why he is a Warrior of the Light, because he has been through all this and yet he has never lost hope of being better han he is.
The warforged let's that sink into Father Ferres mind for a bit, while working on his shield, and waiting for a response.

Daurros Erdai |

Toxim ir' Kinain wrote:"Three things, Captain. First, Daurros can already fly and he'll only get more impressive as he unlocks more arcane knowledge. So, yes, I'd like to do some rock climbing. If nothing else it will give me some time away from Avner. Second, this is probably the saboteur's best attempt yet. We'd all be sick and vulnerable from eating that food if it wasn't discovered. And finally, nice outfit. Not just anyone could pull that off, but on you, it's perfect.""Toxim may well be able to fly, but the rest of us mere mortals are stuck with climbing, so how do you propose getting from the ship to the cliff face with out being dashed to pieces against the cliff face?"
I am using real life knowledge here, a vertical cliff face coming out of the sea even on a remote ocean bound island will generally have undertows, currents and waves in the area immediately adjacent to the base. This gets worse if there is a shelf for the waves to compact against and is less if it truly is a vertical cliff coming from the ocean floor.
"Then again we might get lucky and find a beach, cove or even a sea cave. So I'll keep our options open until then, but please remember as you all kept reminding me, this is Lavina's expedition and she might not appreciate us risking the ship just so we can go thrill seeking." he looks slightly downcast as he finishes that sentence and doesn't meet Toxim's eyes.
Uh oh ... Fathom's rolling initiative. That's not usually done when good things happen. :-)
"Again, my friend, it is not necessary for the Wyvern to find a place to anchor close by. I need only get close enough that I can fly to the island, spend a few hours, and then fly back. That is all. In fact, I could reduce the amount of time I need by placing an arcane mark somewhere on the land, as well. The delay will be negligible, and I think Lavinia will see the wisdom in this. Besides, it's hardly 'thrill-seeking'; it is a huge advantage if several people can travel between Farshore and Sasserine in a matter of a few days, rather than six months. You do understand, of course, that teleport, the spell, basically allows the caster, as well as several additional people he touches, to instantaneously travel from one place to another? And the distance is measured in hundreds or thousands of miles? The only caveat being that the caster needs to be familiar with the locations, or else there is a risk of a ... mishap. Such as ending up far off course, or worse."
