Karkalla is looking for places someone could hide (either themselves or items) also when talking to crew members she watches them to see if any of them seem to be acting odd or if while searching she notices one in a strange place.

My compliment was in reference to our previous conversation where I questioned Ardanto's fashion sense. I figure you caught it, or rather Ardanto caught it, but wanted to be sure.
"Of course, Captain. If you could express to her how even a short stop at the island would prove greatly beneficial later, I'm sure she'll be willing to let us see the top."
I thought Ruja was a floating island. I'll have to go back through the posts to check that out.
"I don't think that the saboteur is ineffective, I think our captain is just that good. A captain of lesser ability would have had far more trouble from the problems we've had to face thus far. He is as annoying as a cricket that you know is there but can't find. That is a difficult trick to pull off for any length of time and he's done so for a more than a month. Don't underestimate this fellow, Captain."

Spoiler:
On a ship, the bathroom is called the head. I want to have Avner's likeness carved into the door and have Avner substitute for head. This way we will be going to use the Avner, or we could pay our respects to Avner, or... I think you get the idea. Until it's finished, discretion is of utmost importance and I'd rather none of the MFs know about it until then. It will be a surprise.

*Raises hand* Is Fathom present for these discussions?

DM::
Avner gets a wicked grin, "Sure, love water could be..fun..Shall we?" He says with a wink. Fathom's gaze does not seem to change, though she does make a motion as if to suggest 'Avner first...'

Spoiler:
Having invited Father Ferres into his workshop of sorts, he starts talking with the man while gathering his utensils to work on his shield.
"Last time you said, you had much to think about.
Did you come to any conclusions? Have you found your faith? Do you now have something to believe in?"

Looking the priest in the eyes he inquires: "Do you dare to be a better man?"

GM

Karkalla

Spoiler:
while your chatting has turned up no real clues, you snooping has. It is late in the 5th day, not night watch yet, but late. When you find a small hidden hallow in the lowest deck of the ship. The hallow is not far from Avners sleeping area and seems to have been cut into the bulkhead.

The small hallow does not carry much, a few small sacks of coins, a few bottles of some unknown substance, a slender wand like crystal and two very familiar looking silver boxes

Toxim

Spoiler:
got ya, just was confused when you said head was all, though ya was gonna crave his head or something :)

Selios is the chief carpenter with Avos and Ben dagwood being his understudies so to speak.

Fathom

Spoiler:
Avner smiles and starts unbuttoning his shirt. "Why not love, might be fun after all. Why don't you go first I so admire your..dive form.' he says with a smirk

Skald seems to be no where around. The deck is deserted except Jagred at the wheel and two new crewmen v and Bran tending duties

Guard

Spoiler:
I think I would like to be a better man he says somewhat hesitatingly "I just do not know if I have it in me to be other then what I am" the priest says.

Female Shifter Rogue 9

Spoiler:
Karkalla gathers together the items has a quick look over the coins to see what nations tender they are and she uncorks one of the bottles and gives it a smell to see if it is anything she recognises.

GM

Karkalla

Spoiler:
The coins are of no mint you know of, and the substance smells strong. But likewise you do not know it on smell alone.

Knowledge checks would be helpful here

I'll ask Selios if he's willing to carve Avner's likeness into the door of the head. I'll arrange to get them the free time to do so. Once they are done, I'll have the crew begin to use the phrase 'paying tribute to Avner' when they have to use the head.

Keep:
Fathom frowns at the scant amount of people about on deck,
"Where be every one?" She asks quietly, thinking back to most times when there is always a bustle of bodies working hard at doing all the things which keep a ship running well and true. Her face turns to Avner,
"Would dis be your doin', den?" She asks openly, "You be pickin' a strange way of doin' t'ings..." She muses. "No, it be you who be goin' over de side first, I am wantin' to see if you be made of de right stuff....." She waves a finger at Avner, 'Don' be expectin' me to dive in a be savin' your self if ye ken-naught swim well enough." She warns the man.

Guard turns back to his work, thinking for a bit.
"So you don't have faith in yourself as well... you need that.
I can tell you something. Something I think I already said last time we talked: Everyone can be something better. But, it is crucial that you believe it.
I recited a quote for you last time, remember? I have another one for you:"

Quote:

Every Warrior of the Light has felt afraid of going into battle.

Every Warrior of the Light has, at some time in the past, lied or betrayed someone.
Every Warrior of the Light has trodded a path that was not his.
Every Warrior of the Light has suffered for the most trivial of reasons.
Every Warrior of the Light has, at least once, believed that he was not a Warrior of the Light.
Every Warrior of the Light has failed in his spiritual duties.
Every Warrior of the Light has said 'yes' when he wanted to say 'no'.
Every Warrior of the Light has hurt someone he loved.

That is why he is a Warrior of the Light, because he has been through all this and yet he has never lost hope of being better han he is.

The warforged let's that sink into Father Ferres mind for a bit, while working on his shield, and waiting for a response.

GM

Toxim

Spoiler:
Selios would be up for that, with a grin. The crew as well, many of the older crew anyhow would think calling it "paying a tribute" a great joke

How long are you waiting as it is getting late

Fathom

Spoiler:
"Would what be my doing? the night watch? Why would I worry myself with mundane things like assigning watch?' Avner says [b]"And if you will forgive me madam, but I have seen that game. I am more then willing to play your games, might be fun. But I will not go first just so I can be made a fool of by being left naked in the water for those ruffins to mock " He say

The he takes a swig of his Wine"You sure you would not join me for a drink?"

Guard

Spoiler:
The priest just shakes his head and laughs, as if a mask falling into place "You have given me something to think about Guard, we all serve the Gods in our own way" After that he excuses himself saying he needs to grow pry and attend other things.

To guard it looks like he has something heavy upon his mind

Keeper for Fathom::
"Would what be my doing? the night watch? Why would I worry myself with mundane things like assigning watch?" Avner says "And if you will forgive me madam, but I have seen that game. I am more then willing to play your games, might be fun. But I will not go first just so I can be made a fool of by being left naked in the water for those ruffians to mock " He say

The he takes a swig of his Wine, "You sure you would not join me for a drink?"

Fathom for Keeper::
Fathom now frowns at Avner's words, "I done play games." She replies. "Skald seems to appreciate de ways of de world. Whut ken be said for you?" She asks, eyebrow raised.

GM

Fathom

Spoiler:
He just chuckles "What does this skald have to do with anything? I know the nature of man well enough which is the nature of the world. We are all beasts shackled by our very nature, until we are enlightened " He says pulling his shirt off and letting it fall to the deck, he "You want to go for a swim, fine I'm game" He says setting down his wine and unbuttoning his pants "Lets swim" the noble says driving off the side of the ship into the dark water below

Keeper:
Fathom nods at Avner's words, watching (and appraising) as he disrobes and leaps into the waves. She calmly reaches down, takes a swig of the wine the man has been drinking (Fort Save:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18) then she too drops her silks to the deck and leaps gracefully over the railings and into the ocean below.

GM

Fathom

Spoiler:
You can barely make out a grin on the naked noble below you as he seems to want to play and swims deeper and under the ship..underwater "catch me if you can" it seems

Keeper:
Fathom is more than happy to 'play', enjoying the exercise of pushing her body through the water to 'catch' an elusive foe. (Swim Check:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24) (Of note, of course, is fathom having cast 'Water Breathing' upon herself). Though, should Avner be a 'poor' sport, her enjoyment will also be of a lesser amount.

GM

"Three things, Captain. First, Daurros can already fly and he'll only get more impressive as he unlocks more arcane knowledge. So, yes, I'd like to do some rock climbing. If nothing else it will give me some time away from Avner. Second, this is probably the saboteur's best attempt yet. We'd all be sick and vulnerable from eating that food if it wasn't discovered. And finally, nice outfit. Not just anyone could pull that off, but on you, it's perfect."

"Toxim may well be able to fly, but the rest of us mere mortals are stuck with climbing, so how do you propose getting from the ship to the cliff face with out being dashed to pieces against the cliff face?"

I am using real life knowledge here, a vertical cliff face coming out of the sea even on a remote ocean bound island will generally have undertows, currents and waves in the area immediately adjacent to the base. This gets worse if there is a shelf for the waves to compact against and is less if it truly is a vertical cliff coming from the ocean floor.

"Then again we might get lucky and find a beach, cove or even a sea cave. So I'll keep our options open until then, but please remember as you all kept reminding me, this is Lavina's expedition and she might not appreciate us risking the ship just so we can go thrill seeking." he looks slightly downcast as he finishes that sentence and doesn't meet Toxim's eyes.

Uh oh ... Fathom's rolling initiative. That's not usually done when good things happen. :-)

"Again, my friend, it is not necessary for the Wyvern to find a place to anchor close by. I need only get close enough that I can fly to the island, spend a few hours, and then fly back. That is all. In fact, I could reduce the amount of time I need by placing an arcane mark somewhere on the land, as well. The delay will be negligible, and I think Lavinia will see the wisdom in this. Besides, it's hardly 'thrill-seeking'; it is a huge advantage if several people can travel between Farshore and Sasserine in a matter of a few days, rather than six months. You do understand, of course, that teleport, the spell, basically allows the caster, as well as several additional people he touches, to instantaneously travel from one place to another? And the distance is measured in hundreds or thousands of miles? The only caveat being that the caster needs to be familiar with the locations, or else there is a risk of a ... mishap. Such as ending up far off course, or worse."

Keeper:
Fathom winces under the brutal magic of Avner's blade. She thrusts with her hands and pushes with her feet, quickly trying to gain even a small amount of distance from her foe. (And leaving herself open to this rounds AoO...) Swim Check(Take Ten, allowed by Feat)10+10=20 Then having gotten a good distance from him, as her last action, casts Cure moderate Wounds:2d8 + 7 ⇒ (4, 4) + 7 = 15 (Assuming Fathom survives the AoO) If fathom goes 'full defensive', does she gain a bonus to her Armour Class?
