well when in the wild if able I use the rope and bedroll as a hammock, keeping off the ground and hopefully out of sight.
Most people don't look up without a reason. If they found my campfire but nothing on ground then they would usually assume I left already.(of course that is reality not game so, who knows here)

Matt, I should warn you in advance, I will probably be unable to post between thursday night and sunday morning. If it's holding you up feel free to assume my character is following whatever the party is doing, or you can play him as you see fit. If possible at some point during that time (I'll be in the woods), I'll try to post. This is a one-time thing, there shouldn't be anything else for the foreseeable future.

Baster of the Peacock |

For the sake of managing the space-time peculiarities (and out of sheer curiosity :-), I thought I'd post my location.
So: I'm currently living in Paris, France (GMT +1).
Also, Matt, I probably won't be able to post next sunday evening, as I will be busy trekking through the first chapter of the Kingmakers AP !
As Koldir succinctly said : "Feel free to assume my character is following whatever the party is doing, or you can play him as you see fit."

I run a homebrew game in real life. It's science-fantasy pathfinder though...set in Dalian China. Everyone plays a nano-cyborg version of themselves and is fighting off an alien invasion that shattered space-time. It's okay, but the modern firearms having crit ranges of anywhere from 16,17,18-20x4 makes the characters extremely powerful for their level. I also run PFS mods for another group sometimes.
When I first started playing back in middle school my DM ran homebrew. But since I started going to conventions around 2000, I've mostly played organized play games (Living City, Living Arcanis, Living Dragonstar, Fellowship of the White Star, Pathfinder Society). They typically have 4 hour modules. It's so much easier to find other players and DMs, and the rules are standardized. It also doesn't take 500000 hours to prepare a game like a homebrew does.

lol it takes me 5 minutes to start a new homebrew, but then Im good at winging it too though. In one game a random encounter with a strange creature turned into the primary story arc.
as for rules I generally keep a list of my preferred rules set, though Im making my own rpg system that is classless cause I hate classes.

I am building a sci-fi fantasy setting for my game system magic and technology yet no fire arms or contained explosives at all(such as combustion engines etc) but has electronics which interferes with magic and vice-verse. While space faring(Earth exists as it is today but was black listed long ago and is off limits)
ill probably start a game test group here at some point when I have more finite rules

Alright, so, I just made the awkward discovery that Perception is NOT a class skill for clerics, and thus Koldir's perception has been 3 higher than it should have been all along. However, he also had the Highlander trait, which gave him stealth as a class skill despite the Trickery domain already doing that. If it's alright with you, I've removed Highlander (which didn't make too much sense backstory-wise) and replaced it with Eyes and Ears of the City, which is technically an Abadar trait, but I thought could be played off as a "grew up on the streets" sort of thing, since our cities are different. Is this shift okay with you? It would mean Koldir's stealth from now on is 1 lower (no trait bonus) and his Perception is 1 higher (trait bonus, and actually is a class skill).

Koldir Shadowhammer |

Thank you. The switching of traits was to keep the rolls that have already happened more consistent with Koldir's actual stats, as opposed to me changing my mind about something. Koldir never would have seen Jevon steal the coin purse, for example.

Koldir Shadowhammer |

Alrighty, I'm off to the forest for a few days. Assume Koldir is helpful in whatever way he can be, or he can just stand around. He uses his spells and hammer in whatever ways necessary to try to catch the last crook. Have a good weekend everyone!

It's a combination of the book The Languages of Tolkien's Middle Earth and a printed out Elvish/English dictionary I downloaded a while ago.

Endrian |

Endrian really doesn't have a clue when it comes to flirting. A lot goes over his head unless he is very carefully paying attention (which doesn't happen all that often). I think most everyone will figure out whats going on before he does.

Leylyn Rhydoc |

Is there no coffee in D&D? When did coffee start to show up in the real world world? Did people drink/eat a different type of pick me up back then?
Forgot to ask Endrian about the grail mark. Oh well, Leylyn will ask him about that later.
Sometimes I go off on such wild tangents with Leylyn and I forget things I want to post. Sometimes I feel like I'm typing out a tome -_-'... But I still love this character!
Also, if any of your characters feel that Leylyn is mistreating/taking advantage of Endrian, you can of course call her out on it. Don't feel like your invading on me and Endrian if you wish to get involved. If anything it would turn the situation more dramatic. Heck, someone can try to seduce Leylyn in turn and then we got a good old-fashioned love triangle. And If it isn't obvious, Leylyn is the definition of fickle.

Jevon Ryker |

Coffee is from Ethiopia, didn't really filter into Europe until the Renaissance via Muslims trading with Venice. Same for tea from the far East traded through Portugal. I'm pretty sure that most medieval people just drank beer or cider because it was the only reliable way to get clean liquid, the alcohol killing anything nasty in it.
I have no idea how Matt's world functions though, you'd have to ask him. Seeing that I spent the day in a dirigible, and am going to be wielding a gun in the future, I'd say it's technologically post Renaissance. -shrug-

Matt, Game Master |

This campaign setting is moderately advanced enough. While the world at large still looks and feels mostly medieval/victorian, I do use dirigibles and firearms as Pathfinder has presented us with a fantastical way to use these. Mind you, this is not steampunk. But coffee does exist, right alongside tea. In fact, if you seek out Captain Pelemynn early in the morning you'll find him sipping a fine cup of java.

Leon the Landless |

There have been all kinds of things used as pick-me-ups over the centuries on earth (tea being the most common). Who knows what they'd come up with in a magic-rich world that didn't really need to obey basic biological laws when evolving.
"Coffee" in this world might not even be a bean. It might be alchemically altered supertea that tastes like sunshine and childhood.

I swear I saw a post after Ithriel in the gameplay thread yesterday by Baster about mounting his horse and charging to the front of the column. But now the last post I see is the one where Ithriel wakes up...anybody else see any posts after that? Wondering if it's just a problem for me, or for everybody?

Jevon Ryker |

Me too, it's nothing personal. It's just the character who has a problem with nobles. I think you roleplay Baster really well actually, I like him a lot.
I wouldn't actually harm you. Just keep you from lashing that dude.

Baster of the Peacock |

Hey, there's roll and there's role !
In deference to narration, consistency and Baster's gut reaction, Ithriel, I disregarded your Diplomacy roll (your previous rolls were really good, too. I think that helps.)
May the dice gods forgive me :-) !

Baster of the Peacock |

And anyway, as per RAW, a natural roll of 1 doesn't indicate automatic failure, like it's the case for saves and attack rolls (not sure about ability checks).
