Thank you very much mathpro18. That archetype seems quite flavourfull but the loss of weapon enchantments hurts and the SLA's last for only one round. I'll have to think about it.

Background
Azrael was born in Kyonin, the kingdom of the elves. Like all elves he was trained in magic and combat. Although he trained long and hard, he gravitated to the use of the bow, the rest of his combat training falling by the wayside. Even with his focus on the bow, his exposure to the magic of the elves allowed gave him an understanding of the arcane. He began to research the use of archery and magic in different cultures as well as his own, looking upon the arcane archers that guarded the forests of Kyonin as his ultimate goal. He left the beauty of Kyonin to pursue more hands on knowledge, travelling to places such as nearby Nirmathas as well as Hongal in distant Tian Xia, picking up what knowledge he could on the art of archery as well as the craft of magic. It was on his return from Tian Xia, that the Shin’Rakorath came to him. His people were in need and he responded. Now he could put his skills to use protecting his people, as was his desire.

Personality
Azrael is focused on his goal and the protection of his people. He seems calm and standoffish at first but becomes animated when discussing magic and archery, his passions.

Appearance
A tall pale elf, Azrael has platinum blonde hair and intense pale blue eyes. His face is typically expressionless although becomes animated when discussing certain topics. @Dark Netwerk

Thanks for all the references.
As for the feats, can you make it easy for me by listing where each feat comes from (level 1, level 3, wizard bonus etc)

The Exchange

All,
I've been noticing a lot of requests to be 1/2 Drow. The fact is this: this campaign will most likely have up to one 1/2 Drow in it, and I'm still not sure how I'll tie it in. I tried to clarify earlier, but the fact in the campaign state of mind is this: "if Drow even exist, it is our duty to cleanse the earth of them. They are an abomination to our race, and will wreak havock in the world if spared."

If you want to increase your odds, don't roll half Drow, modify out of half Drow, or work really hard to think of a way a dark skinned elf could co-exist in a world who doesn't know they exist, and will want it dead ASAP. Or maybe your 1/2 Drow is tan with silver eyes. Just flavor it up so that he's conspicuous but not obviously related to dark elves.

Just giving you all a heads up!

Yeah sorry. I probably should have cleaned that up. Mostly CoreForge output.

I'm going to drop out--took another look at my current campaign list, remembered that I wanted to set up an Iron Heroes PbP sometime soon, and realized I don't have the time. Good luck, all, and have fun!

Here's my life oracle, I think I have all you need in the profile other than the character function, so I'll put that right here...

function:

Secondary melee and healer.

While I haven't finished the crunch my fluff is more or less ready:

Spoiler:

Appearance:
Lanael is of average height and looks for an elf. He has dark brown hair, brown eyes and kept wearing brown or gray clothes over his armor, providing camouflage in his rocky mountain home but making him look slightly out of place in many other places.

Personality:
As is typical for many elves of that region he has taken in some traits usually more likely to be found in dwarfes than elves. He is stoic and takes his duties quite serious.
In combination with his readiness to accept any challenge to hone his skills and the typical remoteness many of the short lived races correlate with elves those often see him as arrogant and even slightly dangerous while that in no way is his intention or how he sees himself.

Backround:
There are only a few elven settlements at the southern border of Kyonin, at the foothills of the Five Kings Mountains nestled between the Treerazors domain and the dwarfen Kingdoms.
With their main purpose being to keep the Tanglebriar from spreading into the mountains while keeping up trading relations with Dwarf live here is different from that in Greengold or Iadara. The contact with non elves is mostly limited to grumpy dwarfen traders at best and demons at worst. Thus even more than usual in Kyonin every inhabitant is trained in sword, bow or spell to keep themself and the rest of the country safe and the lack of big, thick forests led to a stronger connection to the earth open sky at once.
Almost 200 years ago Lanael was born in one such small village, son to two wizards which traded in gems and who's families had settled here right after the return to Golarion. As such his long childhood maybe could even be called calm and protected, whatever that may mean in this rather wild and dangerous part of the elven kingdom. While his parents taught him the mystical arts from a very young age, he was always fascinated with the primal bodily power of the dwarfs they traded with and to his parents dismay, even got into quite a few friendly brawls with young, often drunken dwarfes. Usually he lost, so with time he had to accept that he could never equal them in brute strength and thus decided that he should use his elvish grace and magic training to outwit them instead of trying to meet their force directly, asking his parents to study the ancient art of Spell Dancing in Iadara. While they were not really happy, believing hand to hand fighting no place for their son, they agreed, hoping the loss of dwarfen influence would help showing him his error.
They were quite wrong, as indeed Lanael did flourish in his training. Over the century of his training he even made somewhat of a name for himself, being one of the best of the admittedly few students of the ancient and almost dying art of spell dance, surpassing the brawlers of his youth by far. Thus it came that he got noticed by the Shin’Rakorath, always on the search for new recruits to keep up the eternal struggle against darkness...

As I just noticed I haven't even asked GM Drider how he stands towards the Spell Dancer.
If you have no problem with it I would try it out (although I almost believe the 1 round duration of the SLA's is an error). Otherwise I would go with Kensai.

Interested in this, will post a concept later. Probably either Druid or Alchemist.

submission looks clean as far as I can tell. I like the grit too.

All,
I'll be posting feedback for all current submissions tomorrow.
I'll do a second round for everyone else (including anyone I missed) on Monday afternoon. If I have time I'll do some over the weekend too to give people more time.

Here's what I came up with:

Class:Rogue1/WizX (Creation School)
Race: Urban Elf
Attributes: 13,14,10,12,18,10
Skills: acrobatics, climb, craft(carpentry), craft(stonemasonry), craft(gear), disable device, escape artist, know(engineering), know(arcana), know(history), know(dungeoneering), linguistics, perception, profession(sapper/combat engineer), stealth, swim
Feats:skill focus(perception),skill focus(disable device),great fortitude
Traits:desert child, elven reflexes, canter

Backstory:
Ziyad comes from Osirion, and is by familial accounts a descendant of the pyramid builders. After spending his youth on the streets of An and learning the construction trades, Ziyad felt compelled to assist the overthrow of the Keleshite rulers in 4609 by joining Khemet's forces. He made a name for himself as a sapper after masterminding the demolition of a strategic fortress during an important seige. When Khemet took power, Ziyad was given a minor honorary residence within a luxurious Sothis district, where his own family, as well as his magical abilities, began to take shape.

Most recently however, Ziyad's son has fallen ill to a mysterious affliction which has proven resistant to a variety of curative magics. He has been told a cure exists but for an exorbitant sum of 1000 platinum. Although he suspects it is blackmail, a ruse of the aristocracy, he had no choice but to strike out and seek such a fortune. Fortunately, he was quick to find an interest from the Shin'Rakorath, whom he hopes might prove to be a alternative course against the forces of his native locality, and ultimately save his son. He is currently haunted by the nightmare of his son's death from a wasting disease.

Personality:
Ziyad is kind hearted but also very serious. His brilliance is less about analytical logic than it is about spatial reasoning. He leeches onto challenging problems as they arise, and may sometimes resort to sciomancy for inspiration. Ziyad is on the edge of desperation and thus possesses a fragile morality.

Appearance:
Wrapped in a blue-black sheathe of sashes, this elf's thin frame seems some small drop in the ocean of civilization. His eyes are invisible, under a fallen arch of rich black hair. Dark skin like amber, he seems to possess movement even when still. His silver jewelry hints at desert culture, worn and sand-blasted. His voice has the aggressiveness of some hidden authority. His fingertips seem permanently stained by a dark ink, leading to dual black sphinx tatoos on his inner wrists.

Function:trap spotter/disabler, utility spells, environment manipulation

Backstory, Personality and Appearance:

Backstory:
Sometimes an event occurs that will define the rest of your life.

*sighs*

I wish my tale was unique, but many can trace the course of their lives by the same event that decided my fate. I grew up in the slums of Old Korvosa, as a bastard child that never knew his parents. Life was hard, you would have to steal just to survive, some kids would band together, but the strongest always ruled the gangs, and I don’t let anyone tell me what I can do. Growing up on the street you had to be quick on your feet and know when to run or fight, you had to learn quick because you didn’t get second chances out there. When the Blood Veil struck the city, I knew I had to leave, but by then the watch had closed the bridges out of Old Korvosa. So I made a deal. I knew an old smuggler that I occasionally ran errands for by the name of Lucky Eight Fingers that ran pesh though the docks. Lucky was getting old and the city had already begun to die, so he was leaving Korvosa that very night. In exchange for him getting me out of the city I would work as laborer for a year. After the year was over I stopped working for him, and started working with him.

*coughs*

Lucky died last year, and you know, it’s funny. I would gambled on him kicking the bucket from old age rather than a dagger to the throat in a deal gone bad.

*shrug*

Everyone rolls a hard six sometime. So, tell me more about this Shin’Rakorath group and how much are they paying?

Personality:
(CN) Mercurial in nature, Vhalas has seen how quick the illusion of stability can be broken and has learned to take nothing for granted. After working with Lucky for years, Vhalas has slowly built his own set of ethics based on the teachings of his mentor, namely “thieves prosper, and the rich remember.” Vhalas remembers how desperate and dangerous his life of poverty was, and will not take an action if he
knows that it will hurt those less fortunate than himself. The rich are not so lucky.

Appearance:
Slight of build and nondescript, Vhalas wears his brown hair long over his ears, knowing that its easer to blend into a crowd as a human, than it is as a half-elf. His clothing is muted in nature, and could easily blend into half a dozen cities. You could see Vhalas on the street and notice nothing of interest, and that’s how Vhalas likes it.

Function:

Function:
Vhalas will act as a damage dealer with a combat focus in two weapon fighting and a skill focus in scouting. Vhalas intends to remain as a rogue during his entire progression.

Equipment:

Equipment:
Masterwork Short Sword (2): 620g
Short Bow: 30g
Arrows (50): 2.5g

Cloak of Resistance +1: 1000g

Thanks Vhalas, build looks cool. I don't believe that two trait bonuses stack. You might want to look into replacing one of those traits (unless trait bonuses do stack)

My submission is in the profile for this Alias. I am not trying to run anything outlandish beyond his RP. His actual stats are very basic as this is my first attempt to play a Magus.

Rysil is patterned off an old second edition Character I played before the world even heard of Driz'zt Do'Urden. He was an elven Blade-singer who was basically born looking drow, but he isn't. The original character was a banished elven Prince, but like all good things....he got edited...again.

Function:
Rysil's function in any party is to asses their strengths and weaknesses. Then find a way to fill that void. He can help a Fighter or a Rogue in combat with flanking. He can defend those needing protection like Healers and other casters. This is where Rysil shines. His role is to support the party as best he can with his knowledge and experience. He has no desire to continue a loners existence and would desperately like to find a way to become part of...again

Background:
Baelin comes from Kyonin. He grew up like many others hearing of rebuilding the elven culture into the lands. Baelin like many others brushed this off and focused on his own goals. As a child this was mainly bullying the other kids for their money or other things. Baelin was a good bully, sneaky, strong, agile. Perhaps too good. He soon had built up a bit of a reputation. Enough so that some elder thought it best for him to learn some discipline and the way of meditation.

Baelin took well the the monastic living and flourished as a young student. He had all but forgotten of his days of bullying when one day walking the streets he saw a young elven boy being beaten in an ally. Baelin quick to react and with his new found training bested the assailants and saved the boy. The boy just so happened to be the queens nephew. The queen being very grateful for what Baelin had done offered a reward. Baelin refused. The Queen insisted that there be something she could do. So Baelin asked to study with the royal alchemist.

After a few years of study Baelin finally had a handle on the basics. Now he was ready to put some to the test along with his other training. He did this by becoming a bounty hunter. Tracking down those that alluded the authorities. Baelin became quite good at his job. Developing a reputation for always bringing them back alive. His skill progressed enough to get him noticed and contacted by the Shin’Rakorath. He now finds himself with the true mission of protecting his culture and being the light against the darkness. And prays for those he tracks down.

Personality:
Cool, Calm, Collected, Not easy to anger. Can be a bit of a loose cannon. Planning doesn't always account for collateral damage. Focus is on the job at hand. Very outgoing and talkative. Shows respect and politeness up front.

Appearance:
Tall for and elf. 6'4". Lean and muscular. Light skin, dirty golden hair. Piercing Green eyes. Walks upright and proud. Woodland color clothing and cloak. Hood usually drawn except when talking to others. Couple bandoliers with tiny vials over each shoulder. Looks on edge ready to pounce at a moments notice.

I'm not sure if it was an errata but in the srd the brew potion ability contains the line:

"The spell must be one that can be made into a potion."

Which seems to rule out personal spells.

I never heard the second but since they have a fixed "formulae list that determines what extracts he can create" I pretty sure the answer is also no. He can also only use spell-trigger items of spells from that formula list which would be strange could he also cast other spells.
But in the end you should maybe wait for an answer by Drider.

Funny I was going to make this exact same build last night...looks like its back to the drawing board for me.

To make things a little easier for people who are coming in late I've compiled a list of peoples submissions and what class they're playing.

Sorry to anyone who I've missed...and hopefully I didn't make any mistakes.

Fluff:

Role in group:

Secondary Bruiser, Meele Damage Dealer and some magical support. While no tank he has better AC than a rogue and can keep enemys at bay for a few rounds at least so the archers and wizards can shoot free. And if I keep that ARG Archetype he is quite fast and stealthy making him a secondary scout too (for primary his perception is a bit low).

Should I have forgotten anything or if something is wrong just say.

mathpro18, go pure Elf crafting wizard... I'll have your back. I'll toss in Cooperative Casting, next feat. Double your output.

We're up against Elves... should be a lot of Wizards, we'll need powerful magic. Charge 66-75 percent of regular price and keep the difference.

We're creating individuals, but we also have to envision a tactical team. I think pure Wizard would be awesome. Kathin-Kos and Tallon, I envision as the K-9 unit, scout/recon.

The Exchange

What's goin on y'all. I'm going to be working on my feedback for the next few hours. I'll be on intermittently to answer questions if anybody has any.

Drider, What are you looking for in the party group? So far I have submited a Fighter, any particular class's your looking for or any particular syngery you would like to see?

The Exchange

Vhalas,

I'll have to answer your question in a bit, once i'm done looking over everyone.

Vhalas Rhun, you are so kissing DM butt... I like it! I think they're looking for someone who wouldn't mind reporting to a Summoner Tactical Leader.

:P

Eyes Only:
I wonder if at later levels, we find out we've been manipulated and have been "taking out the wrong people". Then have to shift gears, get cut off... go rogue (from the rogue faction). But, now we're marked as enemies of the state.

Been watching too much Alias reruns!

Cheesy but True:
I particularly enjoy that this avatar looks like my Eidolon, Tallon!

Drow, drow everywhere:
Maybe the DM Avatar has something to do with this, subliminally. The avatar is great, especially the skin-tone.

The Exchange

Hey all. Let me just start by saying wow. So far I'm seeing a lot of stuff I really like, and I'm confident that we're going to be able to make a solid party with a lot of great contributions. I love the multi-classing and blended functions!

If people are wondering what I see is missing so far, i'd have to say it's the tank. This group will function just fine with one, but... then again everyone loves a meat shield.

The "healer" is also a bit absent. There is one oracle, but she has no Charisma (I'm thinking this was a mistake). Again, the healer isn't necessary, as that can be made up by wands and potions.

I'd have a hard time asking anyone to change up their build, so don't think i'm asking anybody to switch something they don't want to. Also, if i've overlooked you somehow, please let me know.

If you update anything, also, please post it in chat, and I will take a look at it and update my personal notes.

Alright, here are my notes so far. Please let me know if you have questions, or some corrections about any of my assumptions.

? (Amazing Red) – Urban Elf Fighter (Archer)::

+ Solid build
+I like the flavor
- Something is missing… but I can’t put my finger on it. Maybe elaborate on what motivates him.
- Tell me more about his personality. I don’t feel like I know him at all.

Kathin-Kos and Tallon (Hassan Ahmed) – Urban Elf Summoner/Fighter::

+ Interesting story
+ I like how integrated the eidolon is into the character. I think this would make for some good RP
- I’m having a hard time seeing his skin color as being simply “controversial”. In this campaign, It could easily lead to his death or imprisonment. If you plan on leaving him as is, give me some background as to how this guy isn’t dead yet, and how he manages day to day, and explains himself. Does he deny his Drow heritage? Does he just say he’s just got a unique skin color and that he’s different for now reason?

Baelin the Huntsman – Elf Monk/Alchemist::

+ Very dynamic build. I think this could lead to some cool stuff.
+ I like how you envision his roll. Good flavor.
- I’m having a hard time understanding his personality. Please elaborate a bit
? Tell me more about what motivates him. Does he really care about his “culture”?

Eledlara, The Killer Wasp (scottybomb) – Elf Inquisitor:

+ This character in every aspect has fantastic flavor.
+ You’ve covered all the angles, well done.
I don’t have much feedback for you right now. You’ll need to drop the +1 from her chest for now.

Denael Leafrider (2goth4U) – Elf Fighter:

+ I really like the rough demeanor of this guy. Not your typical elf
+ I’m like the flavor but….
- I’m not quite understanding his motivations, and what makes him special.
Could you give more a bit more about some of his feats, why he would have been noticed, and what would motivate him to fight? (Money? Women? Money and Women?)

Azrael Zoraldlon Illuiadrel (Dark Netwerk) – Elf Monk/Wizard:

+ I really like the crunch. I can see this build growing with good potential.
+ Thanks for cleaning it up for me, I was wondering why you had 8 feats :)
- I wanna know more about his personality.
Can you elaborate for me on what the Shin'Rakorath saw in him to invite him to join?
What motivates your character?

Alion Lantholthar (Fanguar) – Elf Oracle/Fighter:

+ Great backstory. I like that he’s gone through a transformation. Could bring good RP
+ I think his build concept is cool, and gives him valuable versatility
- I’m a little worried about his attributes. He’s only got 10 Cha which means he can’t cast anything but cantrips. This is going to require a serious restructuring. Unless I’ve missed something, I advise you to take a serious look at that!
Aside from that stuff, looks good.

Lanael Stonerunner (Finkmilkana) – Elf Magus:

+ Great imagery. I like the backstory, and how it fits into his theme
Looks like you’ve covered all the bases! Not much more to say

Ziyad (Mishima) – Urban Elf Wizard/Rogue:

+ Great story, great motivation
+ I feel like the crunch and fluff really blend well together. Well thought out.
Could you explain a bit more about what drew the Shin'Rakorath to him?
Also, do you plan on leveling in Wizard as of right now?

Vhalas Rhun (Celeador) – Urban Elf Rogue:

+ I like your writing style, and the backstory as well.
+ I like the powerful build.
Not much more to say. Well done!

Faunra Variel (mathpro18) – Elf Bard:

I’m not going to say much yet! I like the concept though. If you’re interested in joining up, please customize her and update her a bit to fit the campaign. Maybe just paste the text in the thread, so you don’t mess with the alias if you don’t want to.

The Exchange

An invitation to all of you:
I know I asked a lot of you personally in my feedback, but:
*Please describe to me why the Shin'Rakorath would have contacted you.
Some ideas to answer this question would be:
-What about your PC makes this organization want you?
-What are some things your character has done that the Shin'Rakorath might have noticed?

Motivation? He's ultimately looking for a place in the world. A bit cliche' I know, but there are worse reasons. He originally thought his purpose was to de-corrupt the city he worked in. Obviously that did not work, so he's searching for a new one. The Shin'Rakorath could easily give him one I believe. As far as personality. He's seemingly unheroic and flashy, toying with enemies when he could finish them off. He could as easily shoot you between the eyes, but he'd rather shoot your sword away while spouting a terrible one liner. Seems like he takes nothing seriously, ever. The world could be ending in the next 10 minutes and he'll ask for a beer. But it's how he deals with life. Hope that helps.

Why would the Shin'Rakorath contact him? Someone who took a corrupt government head on and lived when others did not. And if you think about it, he has nothing to lose as he has no family or close friends. He has nothing to lose which can make a person dangerous. Oh and hes the self proclaimed world's greatest archer. As far as being noticed goes, his more legitimate accomplishments included finding and capturing several known(and I mean actual)criminals as part of the city watch. As far as names go, I'm thinking Flint unless someone has a better idea.

Dark Archive

Glad you like my pitch. :) I couldn't edit the character write up above, but on Hero Lab, I dropped the +1 from the shirt, and added a Cloak of Resistance (1000 GP)

Shin'Rakorath Interest:

It seems to me that the Shin'Rakorath would probably regularly recruit from among the clergy of the elven deities. In the case of Calistria's church, elves are her chosen people so it's no stretch for her faithful to be inclined to work with the organization - even if loosely due to the chaotic bent of the church.

The Killer Wasp in particular has gained a bit of a reputation as a capable, and ruthless instrument of her goddesses vengeance. It's even possible an existing Shin'Rakorath member in Calistria's clergy suggested her as a potential agent of the organization.

Speaker for Eledlara, she would be very interested in working with them. Inquistiors of Calistria have a fair bit of latitude in how they carry out their work, and the society's mandate seems to overlap with Calistria's.

Whoops, that's my mistake, for some reason I had it in my head that oracles were WIS based. I'll just switch my CHA and WIS scores.

Let me just go over here and fix that....

Spoiler:
Since returning to Kyonin from from his doomed expedition in the Mwangi Expanse, Alion has returned to is former position in the Kyonn militia. He constantly volunteers for duty where the fighting is thickest, using his newly gained powers to help bolster the line. Most recently, the squad he was attached to managed to foil a surprise attack of Treerazer's demonic forces that were trying to sneak out of the the Tanglebriar. Stumbling across the sneak attack while on patrol, Alion's squad held a choke point against all odds until reinforcements arrived two days later. Currently, he and the other few survivors are still on leave, recuperating from the ordeal.

Just FYI, since I'm apparently a charisma based class, I tweaked my skills around a bit.(mainly dropping heal and picking up diplomacy)

What motivates your character?

Ok. Slight adjustment to the history:

Anecdote:
Before Azrael focused his life on the arts of the bow and magic, he had found his one true love, an elven girl named Idilai. He visited her several times a year at her village. Together they explored the beautiful forests of Kyonin and gazed at the tapestry of stars in the sky, discussing art, beauty and philosophy. The happiness would not remain, however, as when next he came by to visit he witnessed only the aftermath of destruction. A group of humans were leaving the burning husk of the village. In anger, Azrael ran at the group. Their leader stepped out to meet the confrontation and easily bested him.

"I've had my fill o' killin' yer kind fer the day so count yer blessin's. 'Tis yer lucky day," he said before knocking Azrael out.

Azrael awoke in a rage. He would have justice for the people of this village. But first he needed to train.

Years later, well after his training, and travelling the world in search of clues, Azrael had finally tracked down the leader of the band of outlaws in the River Kingdoms. The others he had easily found, either on their own or with friends and family, and dispatched. This one, however, had been quite elusive. He took point atop a building far from the inn where he suspected the man to be and waited.

Three hours passed, Azrael not moving a muscle, until the man walked out of the inn. Azrael brought his bow up and sighted, getting ready to take the shot. He paused in shock, however, when the man's companion stepped out with him. It was Idilai.

Taking a breath, Azrael mouthed some words to focus his mind and let the arrow fly to bury itself, seconds later in the throat of the bandit leader. People in the streets screamed and scattered. Idilai couldn't help but notice the fletching on the arrow, knowing it's owner.

"Azrael, my love!" she yelled out, desperately looking around. "Thank the gods, you have come to save me. This man had captured me and taken me for a slave! Now we can be together! Azrael! Where..." she stopped and looked down at her chest, an arrow with the same fletching sticking out from it. She looked back up spotting Azrael on a distant building standing and staring at her. Her hand raised up and then she collapsed. Azrael had achieved justice for the elves that had been murderd and piercing the heart of the one that had broken his.

As it happens the Shin'Rakorath had been tracking Idilai and her allies for similar crimes more recently committed against the people and had just arrived in the aftermath of Azrael's justice. Thier investigation into Azrael showed them his determination and perserverence. He could play the long game, and nothing, not human law nor true love, would stop him from getting justice for his people. He could make a perfect candidate.

Additional personality:

Azrael does not talk about much of his past, although he seems to enjoy discussing archery and magic along with his travels in relation to the training he received. He keeps his emotions in check and often has a singular focus, but every now and then, particularly when he sees young lovers, he turns wistful, a tear threatening to tumble from his eye, before his face turns grim and closes off once again.

Note, I tend not to want to put more than the basics in personality as I find it hard to properly nail them down until I start playing them and they have situations to react to.

Also, I'm not sure I put his alignment down in the app. I see him as Lawful Neutral.

DM Drider: I just didn't find many drow physical features to pick from. Having darker skin wasn't really a huge part of the character. Kathin doesn't even know he's Drow-Blooded, he just senses he's different. Others may suspect, however.

Perhaps his eyes go all silver (no pupils) when he's "under pressure", defined as 1) suffering from light blindness, 2) using darkvision and/or 3) has negative hit points. He's got the Die Hard feat, so he's still active with negative HP.

Kathin, although often aloof because of voyeurist tendencies, intellectual curiosity or shyness... does whole-heartedly throw himself at things that be chooses to care about or focus on.

Kathin's activities that may garner interest (good or bad), making the Shin'Rakorath either want him or want to "test" him and decide whether he's a threat that needs to be eliminated:

1) Dogged research in the black cloud (blot). To the point, where he's got the campaign trait.
2) Single-handedly (if you don't count Tallon, and unknowingly) thwarted one of their minor/local operations by discovering one of their agents (a newbie, not overly skilled) and running them off. A staged mugging, surveillance, etc...
3) The above mentioned "thwarting" happened at night, a more senior agent observed, identified him as a Summoner and the rarity or such an individual. Also, observation (high perception from a distance) revealed the silvery-eyes manifestation... further indicating a uniqueness.

A decision was made to either recruit him. Or eliminate him if he refused (Kathin doesn't know this) or if after closer observation he proved a threat.

Hope that satisfies the requirement.

Here is my submission. Bare boned at the moment. Just a sheet with items. Going Cleric/Wizard/Mystic of Nethys.

Are you allowing us to edit our race? Because I would greatly like to drop weapon familiarity for something for suited to my concept.

Okay she's all updated and I think I have things a little better laid out now.

DM questions answered:

-What about your PC makes this organization want you?

The past issues involving her father might have been what got the organization interested in her. The fact that Faunra didn't support her father points to her living to there motto if he was truly guilty of what Faunra suspected him of.

Let me know if there are any changes I need to make.

Please allow me to introduce Dendarial, the Ken Hunter. The full character can be found in this Alias, but for simplicity, here are the details you should be interested in. I am very interested in what you think of this build and back story. I can modify it if need be. I look forward to you comments.

Note that he is built as Elven, but might be better served with the stats of a Wood Elf, which I do not have available. So if you like him, and you are ok with it, I might see what he looks like as a Wood Elf. I think it fits his story and a loner elf from the deep woods recently come to the city to hunt his kin better too.

Back Story:

Known as Den to his few friends, Dendarial has hunted his entire life. Trained in the Great Wood by his father and grandfather to hunt game for his tribe, it was a small step for him to begin hunting more intelligent creatures, and only a matter of conviction to begin hunting his own kind. Den claims that Desna called him to vengeance against elves that would harm their own kind. Yes, Desna, the goddess of freedom and luck has an aspect of vengeance, and Den has responded to the lady’s call.

Den is extremely loyal. He hunts for the tribe, taking his orders from his elders, and gets no pleasure when he must kill. But neither does he hesitate when it is needed. As his skills have grown he has been going into the settlements of men more and more often to bring a renegade home. And only recently he has began to focus on hunting in urban surroundings, taking his prey where they believe themselves safe. Recently he has been called to Riddleport. It must have been his activities there that attracted the Shin’Rakorath to Den.

Personality:

Stoic and loyal, Den sees himself as a hand of Desna. His targets have chosen their fate. He is merely the instrument of its delivery. He has compassion but not for those who he is told to hunt. When not hunting Den is quiet and watchful. He only loosens up in small groups of friends where he has been know to laugh and joke and even dance.

Description:

Dressing in greens and greys, Dendarial is tall and lean, even for an elf. The gleam of his chain shirt is masked by his drab tunic and forest cloak. He wears soft leather boots that allow him to move quietly when he chooses. His raven black hair is long and pulled back in a single knot. His eyes shine a green of new spring grass and belies the serious expression he mostly wears.

Roll in Party:

Den is both skills and DPS. Decent in melee, his strength is ranged combat where he can cut down opponents quickly. His perception is 11 and with an initiative modifier of +6 he often will go first. Out of combat Den can track, heal, ride, sneak, and has good knowledge skills in Nature and Geography. He has even studied Linguistics. His first favored terrain is urban settings so he will be at home in Riddleport.

Some more thoughts on Ziyad:

The idea was to continue with wizard levels, but I want to play him like a skills rogue. I'm considering taking a second rogue level at some point for the talent but really its not that worth it I think. The sapper idea just really needs magic so things can get done quickly. So spells will used to support roguish types of things, and general problem solving, but also battlefield exploitation. He should be thought of as a rogue, ultimately...disable device and perception will be sky high. That said, the concept/background can work just as easily with cleric mechanics if needed, or bard for that matter.

Ziyad had been in some down and dirty places, like Riddleport perhaps, for a while getting burned on jobs promising high pay. During this kind of freelance he may have been noticed by a Shin'Rakorath agent, such as a sympathetic elven priest. The org might have contacts in Sothis that know something about the political intrigue Ziyad is imprisoned in and want to help, but need to put him through an initiation first.

Additionally, they might be impressed at his military history which, while forgotten in Osirion, could be remembered by the elven community there. The elves in Sothis, along with Ziyad, might also constitute a larger brotherhood that look after each others families. It could be that the shadow working against Ziyad is antagonizing this larger population, and again Shin'Rakorath somehow possess a greater understanding of what and why.

I have already mentioned a bit about it in the backstory but here comes a slightly more elaborate version:

Reasons for the Shin'Rakorath interest:
During his study Lanaels skills did draw the Shin'Rakoth eye but they are not the only reason they want him. While his manners are somewhat brash for elven standards and he always wants to prove and hone his skills he has also shown to be quite dutyfull and, if push comes to shove, to be able to put his own needs behind those of others.
His familiarity with dwarfs is also an asset not to be underestimated as cultural differences have lead to more than one misunderstanding between both races.

Since I did not see my submission in the list of invitations I will go ahead and bid you farewell. I wish you all the best of luck and hope you all have a great time :D

I think they said, if they missed you... just let them know.

more on Baelin:
Motivation. It sickens Baelin to think there are those that would do wrong and not support the Queen. Laws and upholding them is why we have culture to spread and flourish. He would not see his brothers fall to lawlessness. He wants the elves to be respected as they once were. He believes all elves have a unique gift and talent, and that gift should be harnessed in a way to benefit all elves not just the goals of a few. This motivation seems to be at the core of what the Shin'Rakorath are looking for. This core belief coupled with the prowess that Baelin possess makes him a perfect choice to bring in or eliminate those elves that would do harm to the world.

more on personality:
Ambitious and Outspoken. A no non-sense kind of guy. I imagine him as a Jack Bauer type. He may take you down alive but that's because you posses information that Baelin would find useful. He has gained a reputation of being cold and calculating he knows those on the run make mistakes and posses the patience to capitalize on those mistakes

I'll have invitations up Tuesday. I'll give your PC a review like I did the others though.

Background Info:

Talia grew up with her Father, a Grand Cleric, and her mother, An aspiring wizard. At an early age she showed great promise in both arts. Trying to please her parents, she splint her time between the divine and arcane studies. It wasn't until she met Master Skif, High Cleric of Nethys, that she learned you could master both. Since then she has sought more and more understanding of magic in its pure and raw forms. She stands just under 6 feet tall and very willowy of form. She long ago dyed her hair a mixture of silver and black, in honor of her god. Her eyes are dee-pset and starlight in color. She seeks knowledge of magic in any form she can find it. This has made her somewhat of a Lore Master on the arts. Many come to her for aid in puzzling out ideas or formula.

Other Info:

In the party she functions as a knowledge buff, as well as magical boomstick. She doesn't focus on dealing damage so much as buffing the party.

Her equipment is in her sheet - Bracers of AC +1, pearl of power (1st) and a Wand of Magic Missle (1st) with 50 charges.

There are many reason the Shin'Rakorath would have interest in her. Perhaps they came upon Drow magic and couldn't figure it out. Perhaps they needed some aid while coming back from a raid, or needed someone cleansed of poison. They could have come for her knowledge of magical lore.
