Using a point of Ki, I disappear again as we approach the exit guards.
Stealth: 1d20 + 35 ⇒ (15) + 35 = 50
| drbuzzard |
OK, so basically I have about no instructions from the module on what to do (except a final encounter at the exit). Hence what I'm looking for is how you are looking to get out of here. Do you want to sneak? Do you want to spell cast/hide? Do you want to waylay travelers who might see you? I have to have something to base reactions on. Sorry, no choo choo train is provided here.
| Marckus |
I thought our rolls above were representative of us sneaking out of town. I think that was the intention. Rags' Dimension Door was meant to get us past the gate guards. But if that plan's no good, then my original vote of "speed through town on a lizard" still stands. Or we could conjure up some kind of illusion maybe?
| Rags McRory |
Sneaky sneakersons is my vote.
Taedos Shyr

I like the idea of sneaking out of here as quietly as possible. I could also go for riding if we can find some lizards.
Kronug the Kellid
|
Can't we do both? Sneak to the kennels or whatever you call where giant riding lizards sleep and steal some? If not, sneaky beaky like works for me
| Rags McRory |
We move quietly to the exit from the city and scout it out.
perception: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (16) + 16 = 32

After much running around being sneaky and dodging inept drow pursuers (to the accompaniment of Yakety Sax), you are able to arrive at your destination cave. Somewhere inside is the portal to the surface and freedom.
Kronug the Kellid
|
"Okay gentlemen and gentlelven, if I have learned something from our adventures is that every time we approach places and times like these, some f@~+ing drow or monster is waiting for us... So get your weapons ready and start dropping the buffs ."
Whatcha say if we go sneaky beaky again and try to sneak attack whoever guards the portal?
| Rags McRory |
Rags casts Invisibility on Kronug to encourage his kamikaze sneaky plan and activates his flight hex on himself.
"Go forth and murderize!" he tells the barbarian.
| Marckus |
"I sense favoritism." Marckus says with a frown.
I am not a buff-dropper, but I guess I could flex. But if I knew what I needed to flex into, I wouldn't really need it to be flexible.
| Rags McRory |
"I have made each of you invisible in the past and I only do that once a day. You have to share." Rags tells Marckus.
"I could polymorph you into a cave snail if you would like?"
| Sileth |
who to cast grtr invis on 1marckus 2gumby : 1d2 ⇒ 2
Ulthar this spell will keep you invisible even after you start hitting things .. just do me a favor and try to stay outta my firing lane ..cool? Unless you like arrows in your backside
Sileth then casts Grtr Invisibility on Ulthar and himself
| Marckus |
I'll use my Wand of Lead Blades and a Potion of Enlarge Person, because if I can't be subtle I might as well be as un-subtle as possible.
Kronug the Kellid
|
If Marckus allows it, I'd use the wand too. Got +10 to UMW so I should be able to take 10 it
| Ulthar the Warped One |
Yeah you can have a hit first.
We don't need you Ulthar, we can squeeze magic out of stuff with our upper body strength.
Implying that isnt how Ulthar would use the wands already. Edit: Oh yeah, also Long Arm will be something Ulthar does.

And I'm like the only visible guy, and I'm very visible.
Huge Marckus shrugs and goes to work. I go before them so they're FF, right? Unless they're rogues too, in which case I'll need to hit them twice for the whole demoralize thing first.

apply cover penalty if necessary
| drbuzzard |
Kronug: you would have to squeeze, but since you're invisible, not really important. Just keep it in mind for movement.
Sileth: Marckus will provide cover from where you are standing
Hit, miss, hit, miss (vs. flat footed)
3rd arrow kills the target (#2)
Opportunist says attack of opportunity, and as you do not threaten the target, this does not go off. Since you don't actually have snapshot, you don't threaten with a bow (though in theory if you had a touch attack ready, that might work), this seems like a less than optimal choice.
Kronug the Kellid
|
Kronug keeps his mouth shut and starts moving until he is behind #5.
Okay, if I am not mistaken I can move through Marckus squares and moving there cost me 11 squares worth of movement without diagonals, which I could take one at no increase on the feet moved. That's taking into account squeezing past #5 and the wall, which is two squares instead of one.
| Ulthar the Warped One |
Ulthar puts a murder on #4. While invisible. Like the boogeyman, but with an awesome beard.
Ooga: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (10) + 20 = 30 Extra +2 from invis. +1 from haste.

Booga: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
Seriously imagine if the guy next to you had his head just pop off: 1d10 + 25 + 5d6 ⇒ (1) + 25 + (4, 1, 2, 4, 3) = 40
If #4 dies, Ulthar focuses on another in range.

I'm not patching up that boo-boo, it looks like it hurt, a lot. He probably deserved it because drow.
| drbuzzard |
Ulthar rended the drow #4 into a thin gruel. (takes 2 hits)
He then lays some smackdown on #3 (who remains standing).
Still wondering about Rags though, but it has been a week. He holds his action.
5 heals 3 (without provoking-class ability)

3 moves up and attacks giant Marckus.

to hit: 1d20 ⇒ 15 damage: 1d6 + 8 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 9 = 20 hit
6 casts a spell defensively concentration: 1d20 ⇒ 20 pass and becomes sort of insubstantial.
He then moves over to attack Marckus. (provokes from Marckus and Kronug)
to hit: 1d20 ⇒ 7 damage: 1d6 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15
PCs are up again.
| Marckus |
So 6 cast a spell on himself *and* attacked me?
Was it a hit? My AC is 23.
Marckus takes a swipe at the passing dude.
