Hey Kirth, I dropped a question about the whip in the Kirthfinder Houserules thread. Aside from an answer there that may change Jym's weapon selection, I think he's ready to go.
Feedback would be appreciated.

Sorry -- I'll look into it when I get home, wife and baby permitting -- I evidently also need to email rules to Derek, and so on!

Sorry
No sweat. Whenever you can.
I'll look into it when I get home, wife and baby permitting
My wife is out of town for a few days. I'm watching the 6 month old and the 3 year old by myself! I pick them up, go home, fix the 3yo's dinner, give the 6mo a bottle, play with them for a bit, and then try to put the 6mo to bed quickly so that the 3yo isn't by himself for too long. When that doesn't happen, I hold the 6mo to sleep in my arms while I play with the 3yo and then put him to bed. The 6mo is asleep by that point. Then, I prep bottles for overnight and the next day, fix lunches, wash dishes, and finally collapse into bed.
I go to work to have some free time!
I evidently also need to email rules to Derek, and so on!
I've already done that. I'm amazing!

Then I think Jym is done. Feedback is appreciated, including any suggestions for improving the format.

Jym looks good! A few minor nitpicks:
Intuition save = +2 class, -1 Wis = +1 total.
Sling = +0 BAB -1 Wis +1 halfling = +1 (1d4-2/x3).
With magic stone: +2 (1d6-1/x3)
Formatting:
To make things easier for myself during play, I always like to include the Concentration checks for casting defensively, spell DCs, and pretty much everything else right in with the spells list:
1st (3/day, check +8)--hypnotism* (DC 14, 2d4+1 HD max)
0 (at will; check +10)--dancing lights, message, ...
Check = +8 (Concentration) +2 (focus instead of materials) - (2 x spell level).
I very much appreciate how you've laid out your skills, BTW, so that the total bonus is obvious and the number of ranks, etc. are shown.
When DMing, I always make a note to myself what the LW/HW thresholds are -- not that dividing by 2 is all that complicated, but in the middle of play when I'm looking at 2 other things, it's nice to have it right in front of me: e.g., hp 10 (LW 5/HW 2)

Oops. That line was originally for handaxes or some thrown weapon. I forgot to change the attribute for the attack roll when I went with sling.
Also, 0 -1 +1 = 0, but if you factor in +1 for being small size, it does end up being +1.
Anyway, I added a line for throwing the Magic Stone, since aside from a shorter range, that's going to be more effective.
All of your suggestions have been incorporated. Thanks!

OK, for those planning to participate, by Monday please have at least a working character! Backstory beyond a couple of words (district, profession, family if important) is optional. (Tombrose and Jym are (and have been) ready!)
If this isn't do-able, please let me know and we'll collectively decide how long to postpone.

Nah, it seems a lot more detailed. Not sure if it's too detailed though. The one that I linked does reference it though, on the first page.
"Further details on Sasserine are provided for the
DM in Dungeon #139, which also kicks off the new
Savage Tide Adventure Path. This campaign assumes
your starting character is a Sasserine native, and as
such you can expect to know a fair amount in advance
about the city. This booklet presents everything you’ll
need to know about your new home town, from an
exhaustive list of every major shop and tavern to the
names of famous locals and the rumors currently
circulating in the streets and taprooms."

It won't hurt to read any of the guides, as long as you stay away from the actual adventure text. Keep in mind that Sasserine won't necessarily be good for much more than background and 1-2 adventures, the way the AP is written.
Okay, cool! I'm just a little stumped on writing a background. I know pretty much nothing about Greyhawk, so I figured if I read a little more about Sasserine, I might get a better idea how an orc would fit in. Any suggestions from the referee on that btw?
Also, another couple of questions before I finalize some character stats: Is there anything in the rules that would allow a paladin to substitute wisdom as the primary stat instead of charisma? Maybe a feat or something?
Also, what are your thoughts on multiclassing between barbarian and druid? I thought it would be a cool character idea and would be fun, but I know you said that this campaign is pretty though and my optimization skills are nil, lol.

I had a long-running 3.5 barb/druid. He was amazing at first because my DM let me use Shillelagh on a great club, but other than that, the two classes don't synergize very well in 3.5. I bet they'd do a better job together in Kirthfinder, though.

Yeah, I've been looking around for options that help synergize the two classes but work and my attention span have other plans for me. :-P

Maybe you come in from the jungle to hang around the Champions District, where they have a bunch of arena stuff that is always fun, and might allow you to pick up spare cash. If you have ranks in Handle Animal, I'm sure they're always anxious to acquire leopards or something for people to fight with, and said animals would need to be cared for in the meantime. Or maybe you just live there, but I figured we could tie in your favored terrain this way.

The Serenity feat does exactly that.

It can work, especially if someone else picks up the heavy lifting when it comes to battlefield control spells, but it requires careful choices. If you want to focus on just becoming a bear and mauling people, it's easier to take the beast shape rage powers; if you focus on casting, your Cha probably isn't high enough to jack up your save DCs (barring the Serenity feat, as mentioned above), and it's hard to keep your Wis and physical stats high enough to cover all your bases.

In KF, you can pick up the Oakheart druid initiation, which gives you constant shillelagh and a whole collection of other perks on your club or staff, in exchange for wild shape. So if you want to be a druid/barbarian who beats the hell out of people with sticks, that's ready-made for you. Grab the spirit totem to keep up your casting, and you're good to go.

Uro's looking pretty good, stats-wise. The only discrepancies are super minor:
To make your life easier, you could list your raging saves in the rage section. For now they're all just +1, but when you start getting into odd attribute bonuses, it would be easier to have them precalculated.

Tombrose: The following stand out at first glance (please let me know if I'm missing a feat, trait, or something else that covers the existing numbers):
| Uro Taraka |
Uro's looking pretty good, stats-wise. The only discrepancies are super minor:
His Int while raging is only 9, but that won't affect play so it doesn't really matter.
You have an extra +2 to your Intuition save from somewhere, but I'm not seeing where. To make your life easier, you could list your raging saves in the rage section. For now they're all just +1, but when you start getting into odd attribute bonuses, it would be easier to have them precalculated.
Thanks Kirth, should be all fixed up. Sorry it took a while, I had some problems with the site not saving my changes and losing my posts and I got super irritated and rage quit, ha ha. I'm going to work on Uro's background today.
