So at any point during this have I seen what's going on over there? Line of sight is a bit hard to tell from the map, but it looks like I can't see across the building.

Nobody has shouted very loudly "Time to retreat" or anything similar, so if I can't see everyone running off, no reason that Roland knows that he should.

No, no one has said anything outside of Jack and Ian's banter back and forth. However, Roland can see inside the building as the doors are open, so he sees Brand, Jack and Ian staggering outside the far doors and the three Raiders on the stairwell heading down. The center stairwell is an open wooden spiral stairwell.

When Jack tries to stop him, he shakes his head. "That's family they have. Not a brother, like Brand, but cousins, aunts, uncles...people I lived with and grew up with. I'm not abandoning them. No. Matter. What. Don't know what they'll do to 'm if we take time to regroup."

He starts coughing up blood, and holds his side, but stumbles on, bracing to the wall with his elbow, guns in both hands.

Jack looks at Vulture, his number 2 Look of Disapproval on his face. He shakes his head a little, and says, softly, so only they can hear. "Kid," Jack really has no idea how their ages measure up, he just says that when he's in Disapproval mode. "Ain't no one sayin' we're leavin' an' not comin' back. But we do gotta 'change th' battelfied' as i'twere. We gotta not be goin' after them an' we do gotta get them comin' after us. Now we got like, ten more guys comin' down them steps after us," Jack has no idea how many there are, he just heard a lot of metal-stomping boots coming down the stairs, "so how about instead of goin' in after them, you just sit here an' cover that door. Either they come out an' you shoot den one atta time, or dey go affer dat Wright guy, an' you shoot 'em in da butt?"

Jack has no idea what he's doing. He kinda wants to go away and not die, and he figures that not going inside is a good start.

Ian nods his head, fully confident that Jack knows what he's doing. "Good idea! I'll head to the corner an' makes sure they don't hit us from the Southern flank!"

Ian doesn't really know what 'flank' means.

Vulture is young. Like 17-19 window. I figured he's a lot
younger than Brand, maybe 8-10 years, but I don't know how old Loup wants Brand to be. Would explain their close relationship, though. IRL I'm 8 years older than my brother and I was constantly look I out for him even though he's was adult as a result until he turned like 25. So "kid" makes sense. Also, he just had his vision quest, and most native tribes that did that usually do that around 13 IIRC, so he's also a late bloomer to the tribe, probably because he's socially an outsider and obsessed with tech and stuff unlike most of them.

Re: Ages: I was figuring Brand to be in his early to mid-twenties, so that seems about right. Let's figure Brand at 24, and he's naturally protective by nature, so he's always looked out for Vulture. That said, now he's on his feet, it's killin' time again! One's Stubborn, the other's Overconfident; these boys just don't know when to quit.

Brand ducks back as a continued assault tears into the doorframe and the walls around it. He looks up as one of the raiders bears down on him, but his axe comes up in time to block the attack.

Unfortunately, the man's wounds and the stress of the fighting seem to be finally catching up to him. Brand is only able to defend himself, and doesn't swing back.

Moving 9 puts Roland right at the edge of the doorframe. That means he can shoot around the edge with -2 to hit (from the cover that he is shooting around. We are still waiting on Ian and Jack to do anything though because its an old round.

Jack is thrown off-balance by the raider's blast striking his shield, but he tries to steady himself...

...and a quick shake of the head clears his senses enough to keep fighting.

He take aim at the raider that shot him through the thin aperture of the door, then fires back.

First action Aim. Second action fire and move. Not exactly the raise I was hoping for. :(

Then Jack and plasters himself to the side of the building.

...and is unable to get to the window quickly. He takes his time getting there, and sticks his rifle though the hole made by the opening shot of the battle, aiming for the raider by the stairs.

Round 9
Roland (JOKER!) runs around the building, hustling to get to his new allies. He snaps a shot off at Fixit and is rewarded with a satisfying grunt of pain.
