Snótra Kraus |

Snótra is going to try and heal Nod with the altar. Would we know how many charges it has or is it unlimited? Would this require another UMD? If so...UMD: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Snótra hastily tucks away the wand, ecstatic with their find. "Not only zat, Keydas, it can restore life to zee fallen und magically zudure vounds! If zomething zis vonterous is at zee sdart of our delffe, can you imagine vat lies peyond zoze doors?"

Ghyrryn |

Ghyrryn still keeps watch for danger.
Delay to jump into action if something dangerous appears.
Do I get a linguistics check to understand Snotra? :) Seriously, when you do a thick accent, can we get a translation in the spoiler? I'm lousy at reading accents.

ROUND 7: Some teams still have actions remaining for the current round and a 24 hour extension period for this round has begun. During this time any player from these teams may submit actions for characters that not yet submitted actions for this round. The current round will end either when all actions have been submitted for all missing characters or 24 hours from now, Sunday 4/29 7:00 PM EST, whichever comes first.

Snótra Kraus |

I missed that part, well in that case, I'd like to use the CLW wand on Nod for round seven, if that's acceptable,
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
"Not only that, Keydas, it can restore life to the fallen and magically suture wounds! If something this wonderous is at the start of our delve, can you imagine what lies beynd those doors?"

Keydas Amrath |

Keydas moved over to the door leading to the hard path and searched it for traps as well.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

DM Bigrin |

ROUND 8: Some teams still have actions remaining for the current round and a 24 hour extension period for this round has begun. During this time any player from these teams may submit actions for characters that not yet submitted actions for this round. The current round will end either when all actions have been submitted for all missing characters or 24 hours from now, Monday 5/13 7:00 PM EST, whichever comes first.

DM Bigrin |

You guys are one team that still has Round 8 actions. Only Keydas has acted this round
Keydas looked over the metal door to the ostensibly harder path, finding it the same as the the easy path door - no traps, but not handle or latch either. The activation stone beside the door is the same as the one for the easy path, and similar to the one you used to enter the elevator above.

Valeria Turanor |

Shifting back from the locked door a safe distance Valeria focused and a rolled up cloth slipped out of her sleeve and began to float in the air. It unraveled and a pair of tools slipped out and moved towards the lock on the door while she held the tool kit. The tools moved to the locking mechanism and began to probe within of their own accord as they worked on the locking mechanism.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31

Snótra Kraus |

Snótra shakes a small porcelain bell from her wrist, giving it a quick soft ring, creating a series of hovering orbs of light before her, prepped to drift through the doorway upon its opening. Giving the altar one last longing look before joining her comrades in front of the door and attempts to give a half hearted once over.
*sigh* It would be a joy to see it operate, but maybe saving it for later was our best option.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Keydas Amrath |

Keydas takes out his bow as he moves to get a look at the chest. He then casts a spell to detect magical auras, trying to determine what the chest may hold.
Move to get line of sight, drawing my bow as I do so. Casting detect magic.

Valeria Turanor |

Moving to the chest Valeria examined it closely while her picks floated nearby for any traps.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
If neither she nor Ghyrryn see any traps on the chest and it is locked:
Moving back a short ways Valeria's picks floated to the chest as she extended her senses to take in the mechanism. The picks moved carefully and began their work as they deftly began working the mechanism.
disable device: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23

Valeria Turanor |

Realizing the chest is seemingly safe Valeria knelt and carefully opened it then peered inside.

ROUND 9: Some teams still have actions remaining for the current round and a 24 hour extension period for this round has begun. During this time any player from these teams may submit actions for characters that not yet submitted actions for this round. The current round will end either when all actions have been submitted for all missing characters or 24 hours from now, Thursday 5/17 7:15 PM EST, whichever comes first.

Valeria Turanor |

Pulling out the items Valeria passed them on to Ghyrryn who stuck them in his pack. The contents included chalk a climber’s kit, compass, grappling hook, hammer, 5 pitons, and 50’ of hemp rope. With that accomplished she said, "So, the easy, or the hard path?"

Keydas Amrath |

"Hard path. It's quicker, and we can't risk being the last ones to the prize - although I'm not concerned about being first. Let's go."
Keydas moves over to the activation stone next to the door for the hard path and presses it.

DM Bigrin |

A keydas activated the stone beside the door to the hard path, everyone heard a click as the locking mechanism disengaged and the door slid into the wall. Beyond was a dark room, and without a light of his own, Keydas could only see a small fringe of it.
Ghyrryn - ?
Keydas - Move: activate opening stone for hard path
Snotra - ?
Valeria - Move: Assist in unloading the trunk

Keydas Amrath |

Keydas frowns and casts a cantrip on his bow, illuminating it like a torch.
Cast light on my bow (should take the standard action).

DM Bigrin |

Keydas cast a light cantrip on his bow, illuminating the dark room beyond. Scarlet columns line every wall around this room. Three quarters of the way towards the exit lays the activation stone with a light blue glow emanating from its base. Behind the stone stands a huge intricately carved stone dragon that stands blocking the door to the south. A large scorch mark is centered on the floor of the room in front of the statue. Several bookcases sit empty around the walls and numerous scarlet-topped pillars line the walls of the room. A small circular table is located behind the dragon’s wing, a diamond shaped brass key resting on top of it.
Ghyrryn - ?
Keydas - Move: activate opening stone for hard path; Standard: light cantrip
Snotra - ?
Valeria - Move: Assist in unloading the trunk

Snótra Kraus |

"Here koes nothing!" Snótra whispers excitedly.
Snótra signals Nod, who was busy cleaning himself of remaining spider bits, to begin ascending the walls with her aboard and they will enter the room cautiously. Her eyes wander across the room, searching for anything suspicious or dangerous as she drags the dancing lights to fill every corner of the room that isn't illuminated (staying within range of one another) by Keydas's bow.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

ROUND 10: Some teams still have actions remaining for the current round and a 24 hour extension period for this round has begun. During this time any player from these teams may submit actions for characters that not yet submitted actions for this round. The current round will end either when all actions have been submitted for all missing characters or 24 hours from now, Sunday 5/20 7:15 PM EST, whichever comes first.

Keydas Amrath |

Keydas moves into the room a little bit to clear the way for Ghyrryn and Valeria, and to provide enough light to illuminate the whole room. He studies the stone dragon to see if it is designed to replicate a specific type.
Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Move action into the room, free action Knowledge check. Standard action remaining.

DM Bigrin |

From his position just inside the room, Keydas can see the dragon statue has all the characteristics of a red dragon, from the spiky crest ridge to the backwards facing horns just behind the jaw. While the statue is only fifteen feet of dragon, Keydas notes that the artist has replicated the form of a fully mature red dragon, not that of a juvenile.

Valeria Turanor |

Valeria moved into the room and saw the key with the big fierce dragon statue across the way. She looked at the key and knew they needed it, the question was how to get to it. She looked around to see if there was a place that key would be used at, particularly the activation stone, without moving any closer than she was.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

DM Bigrin |

With two of you in the room, a gravelly voice issues from the mouth of the stone dragon.
“Greetings, travelers. I am the guardian here, tasked with judging those who would travel down the Challenging Path. Those who do not impress me should not press forward. Doing so will earn them their doom.”
Valeria didn't see any signs of a chest or locked door in this room that the key might fit, but she did recall that the previous room had locked wooden doors with symbols above them. The one they had unlocked was marked with a triangle, but the door next to it has a diamond symbol on it.

Snótra Kraus |

Snótra mumbles to herself for a moment before speaking up, "Vould you berhaps, accebt ein disblay of indellect?"
Snótra begins reciting her knowledge of the temple at length, attempting to recall obscure details.
History: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

DM Bigrin |

5d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 3, 4, 5) = 22
2d8 + 4 ⇒ (5, 8) + 4 = 17
A yawning sound came from the dragon statue. "Booooooorrrrrrrrinnnnnng! Oh, I know. Brace yourselves!"
A light grew in the dragon's throat and suddenly a fireball burst into the room, scorching everyone and everything.
Everyone takes 22 fire damage, DC16 Fort save for half.
Carry on with your Round 12 actions

Keydas Amrath |

Fort Save? Not Reflex?
Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Severely burned by the fireball, Keydas grimaced and said, "Well, that tells me what I need to know." He then moves himself out of the room, pulling out his wand to heal himself, saying to Valeria, "Try to grab the key and let's see what's behind the door."
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Ghyrryn |

When every group is finished with the room, it would be good to know what the criteria were for judging this.
Did the fireball fill the room? Were there squares that were not affected?
I'm waiting to see if it is reflex because Kraath has evasion
