Ghyrryn |

I've played a lot of telekineticists. Valeria probably shouldn't be poisoned. If it doesn't get through the force ward, it's treated as a miss for any carried effects. The spiders didn't actually penetrate her flesh.
Ghyrrn pulls out alchemist's fire and murmurs an apology through closed lips. He then slams it down on the spiders around him.
fire damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4 +50% means that the spiders take 6. I assume I'll take the four as well and the others will take 1 as splash damage. Next round the spiders will take more damage

Valeria Turanor |

Actually, Ghyrrn, he was saying it wasn't the poison that was distracting me butthe creepycrawlies doing the creepy crawly all over me!

Keydas prepared for combat, though what he could do against the swarm, he wasn't sure. Ghyrryn threw the alchemist fire at his own feet, his nose wrinkling at the smell of burning hair and chitin, an grimaced at the pain in his legs. everyone else winced as they were splashed by the fiery liquid. Valeria managed to shake herself out of her horror at the bugs and burned almost all the strength she had in her to lift the elevator cage. She was just in time. The cage jerked as the link snapped, and only Valeria's force hand kept them from plummeting down the shaft.
Valeria - don't forget you have to maintain concentration to hold the cage up. Ghyrryn can tell you you are about 30' from teh bottom of the shaft.

Snótra Kraus |

Chaos erupts around Snótra as the spiders skitter across her form, finding nooks and crannies, biting as they go. A globule of burning liquid sprays across her arm, burning through her jacket down to left forearm. If she hadn't already been convulsing wildly in a futile effort to remove the arachnids, she would have jumped back in pain. But thankfully, the absence of a free fall seemed to indicate that Valeria's plan was working. She found that funnier than them dying early. Her laughter continues but coughs out weakened and strained as nausea takes hold.
We might actually live through this.
Snótra continues to cackle for her movement action. Nod continues his spider massacre.

Snotra continued to cackle, despite the nausea cramping her gut. Her gecko lapped up a few more spiders, though he didn't seem to be very happy with the scorched taste that Ghyrryn's alchemist fire had given them. for their part, the coin-sized spiders continued to burrow under clothing, seeking flesh to bite. There seemd to be even more of them after the firebomb, though maybe that was just how it felt.
Valeria - don't forget you have to maintain concentration to hold the cage up. Ghyrryn can tell you you are about 30' from the bottom of the shaft.

Keydas Amrath |

Ghyrryn's use of the alcehmist's fire reminds Keydas that he has his own. He quickly stows his shield, then pulls out an alchemist's fire from his bandolier and throws it at the swarm.
Stopping bardic performance - Lingering Performance means Valeria gets the +3 from Inspire Competence for 2 more rounds. Swift action to put shield away, move action to retrieve Alchemist's fire, standard to throw it.

DM Bigrin |

Taking a cue from the gnoll, Keydas smashed his own flask of alchemical fire down at his own feet. Once more everyone was splashed with burning liquid, but it did the job. The remnant of the swarm of spiders dispersed, wanting nothing more to do with food that burned.
No more spiders, but Valeria and Ghyrryn still have actions to take. Valeria is still holding the elevator in place, about 30 feet of the ground.
Edit: You still have one more question you can ask the Overseer

Valeria Turanor |

Valeria was relieved when the last of the spiders curled up and died as she wasn't sure she could hold her focus much longer if they kept crawling all over her. With things calmed down she ground out between clenched teeth, "If you have more questions ask them quickly, I'm lowering us to the ground now." With a grunt of effort and motions that resembled tying off a rope and lowering it the cage began to slowly sink to the bottom of the shaft.

How am I at -10?

GM Huggles |

ROUND 3: Team 3 (Troq) still have actions remaining for the current round and a 24 hour extension period for this round has begun. During this time any player from these teams may submit actions for characters that not yet submitted actions for this round. The current round will end either when all actions have been submitted for all missing characters or 24 hours from now, Sunday 4/29 7:00 PM EST, whichever comes first.

Valeria Turanor |

Valeria felt the trickle of blood from her nostril and knew she would have to finish lowering them soon or they would fall anyway. She continued her efforts and the cage continued lowering slowly to the ground.

Keydas Amrath |

Keydas pulls out his own wand of cure light wounds and uses it on himself.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
He then asks the Overseer, "Since the chain of our lift broke, do you know if the Gauntlet is still in the same condition as it was when it was built, or are other things falling apart?"

GM ShadowLord |

[REMINDER] We are now halfway through Round 4 which will end Tuesday 05/01/18 @ 7:00 PM EST. The next round begins immediately when this round ends if all players from all teams have completed their actions that round. If any player has not completed their actions, a single 24 hour extension period will be granted for this round.

DM Bigrin |

The cage settled to the ground with a gentle bump, and Valeria slumped with the relief of the burden. Even as she relaxed Keydas took the questioning of the Overseer back up again, with an inquiry about the condition of the Gauntlet.
"You assume that the chain was not intended to break? Interesting. As to the condition of the Gauntlet, it was created through magic, and by magic it is sustained."
The elevator sits along one wall of a large rectangular room. Two metallic doors lead from the room on opposite sides, each with a metal plaque above it with words etched in an ancient tongue. Beside each door is a circular pillar with a light blue glow emanating from it, what the overseer called an activation stone.
Four wooden doors line the back wall of the room, one with a triangle carved into it, another a diamond, the third is blank and the fourth has hastily scrawled letters on it in that same language.
DO NOT OPEN!
A five foot circular golden platform shimmers from the light of two lit braziers which flank it. A brass etched plate is located on the wall behind the platform and another three foot high circular stone pillar emitting a soft blue light sits in front of the circular platform, similar to the one that you used in the courtyard above.
You can help decipher the purpose of the golden platform with a Spellcraft, UMD or K:Arcana check. Each successful check from the three types will grant a specific piece of information, with up to three pieces of information being provided when all three categories have been met successfully.
The overseer drops from above, landing in a crouch near the elevator. Standing, it moves over and stands in the corner and continues to observe you.
Snotra still has her actions for Round 4. Ghyrryn still has a move action

Ghyrryn |

If it is not locked, Ghyrryn will open the door and step out. Which direction does it open?
Professor Ghyrryn will let the class deal with the runes and golden plate. :)

Snótra Kraus |

Snotra's cackle turns raspy and ends in a haggard cough, spitting out a few dead spiders. The halfling cleans off the remaining arachnids from her person and flicked the white elm wand at a particularly nasty bite that was starting to swell above her clavicle.
Still only the second worse thing I've hacked up.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
After she gives a gentle prodding, Nod exits the cage and approaches their new challenge.

GM ShadowLord |

ROUND 4: Teams 1,2 and 3 still have actions remaining for the current round and a 24 hour extension period for this round has begun. During this time any player from these teams may submit actions for characters that not yet submitted actions for this round. The current round will end either when all actions have been submitted for all missing characters or 24 hours from now, 7:00 PM EST Wednesday 5/2, whichever comes first.

Keydas Amrath |

Keydas grinned as the Overseer revealed two pieces of information instead of one. So, the broken chain was the first challenge. I wonder how the other groups fared with it.
Turning his attention to the room, he exited the cage, looking about as he walked towards the golden platform.
Pointing to the first metallic door Door #1, he said, "That plaque says, 'Easy is the way to fewer gains', and that one," here he points to the other metallic door Door #2, "says, 'The more difficult the challenge, the faster the pace, the better the reward.' The scrawl on that wooden door back there says, 'Do not open.' The metal plate behind this golden platform says, 'Recovery.' I wonder what it does?"
Keydas then studies the platform.
Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

Ghyrryn |

Ghyrryn retrieves Kraath and growls the command word to return him to his normal fleshy self.
He then waits for the more knowledgeable people to choose which way to go.
I almost said "more intelligent people", but it turns out that I'm the second smartest person in the party!

Valeria Turanor |

Valeria had managed to sit herself up after collapsing to the floor outside the cage and pulled free a scrap of cloth from her pack to daub the sweat from her face and the blood from her nose. When Keydas told them what the plaques were she said, "It seems like door one is the safest path, we could take our time, be safer, but not obtain as great a reward, the second one sounds like [i[if[/i] we go that way it will take us to our goals quickly but that we had better be prepared to move fast or suffer." She looked towards the third one, "I think the third door is pretty self explanatory, leave it alone, and the platform is either the eventual way out or a means of healing us if we need it."

GM Kiito |
ROUND 5: Teams 1, 3, 4 still have actions remaining for the current round and a 24 hour extension period for this round has begun. During this time any player from these teams may submit actions for characters that not yet submitted actions for this round. The current round will end either when all actions have been submitted for all missing characters or 24 hours from now, 7:00 PM EST Saturday 5/5, whichever comes first.

Snótra Kraus |

Snótra whips her head to their alchemist companion, "Kod's pless your educazion, Keydas. I couldn't make heads or tails of zat language. Hobefully your childhood vasn't too lonely." she finishes with an actual air of concern to her voice.
Snótra begins tapping her hand unconsciously with the wand a few times, hesitating before healing Nod to first better inspect the golden platform.
SpellCraft: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29

DM Bigrin |

Both Snotra and Keydas recognize this device as an ancient Thassilonian artifact known as a restoration platform. These magical devices were known to restore exhausted resources to whoever uses it.
Your Spellcraft check tells you: Restore 1 exhausted/spent spell OR cast Raise Dead on a deceased party member.
Your K:Arcana check tells you: Restore 1 exhausted Class/Special ability OR remove 1 negative affliction (Poison/Disease).
If anyone has UMD, you can make a free UMD check now to recognize another of the restoration platform's abilities.

DM Bigrin |

Your UMD check tells you: Restore HP: (Either 2d8 to a single person or +1d6 channel to all in room) OR remove 2 points of ability damage.
We are now in Round 6, and everyone has actions. remember that your companions cannot read your spoilers. It is up to you to relay that information...if you choose to.

Keydas Amrath |

"Fascinating! This device will allow us to recover exhausted resources. It could restore my ability to use my bardic song, for instance, or perhaps allow Valeria to restore her strength after heavily exerting herself with telekinesis. It can also clear poison or disease from someone. We would do well to remember this room!"
"Do we explore the wooden doors or choose the easy path or the hard path? Valeria, could you check one of them for traps while I look over the other?"
I don't know if Valeria can reduce Burn with the Recovery device, so I speculated on that. Basically, you can recover 1 exhausted class or special ability - not sure if that includes spells, or if that's in one of Snotra's spoilers.
Keydas goes and searches the door for the easy path Door #1 for traps.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Valeria Turanor |

Crap, sorry bout that, thought I had more time to respond than I did. I'll try to watch out for that in the future.
Valeria simply rested while her companions examined the room and it took her a moment to realize that Keydas was speaking to her. She looked over at him and said, "Yeah. I'll check that one over there." She rose then and examined the door right next to her for traps.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

Keydas Amrath |

DM, which metal door on the map was the one with the easy path marked, since that was the one Keydas was next to? I realize I forgot to move my token on Roll20.

Keydas Amrath |

Shrugging at his inability to find a mechanism for opening the door, Keydas moved over to one of the wooden doors to check that one for any traps.
Checking the door next to Valeria. I moved my token on the map.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Keydas Amrath |

Oh, I thought moving from the door I examined last round was my move action. Which door am I standing in front of?
