I'm betting 1 or 2 more rounds
"Well, the dataphiles tend to be naive about that sort of thing. If they leveraged their knowledge we would all be in trouble! I much prefer trades of these types of breakthroughs. Knowledge is power after all, but only if you use it."
I'm going to call that a culture check
Culture: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Medrick |
Medrick still hopes we can win over Royo. Knowing he has already lost the Ysoki's respect twice, he decides that it might be best not hurt the group again and just agrees with Dr. Kyber. Yes, I agree Dr. Kyber, knowledge is power and should shared and disseminated to the people. What good is information if it is locked away in some data file somewhere?
culture aid (take 10): 10 + 4 = 14

Ceolor nods at the android's words. "It is really nice the Starfinders have been able to attract people with talent, but almost all of their assignments and missions take more than a pretty penny. I mean compensating the travel costs of their agents is expensive enough, without having to calculate the money required to buy, equip and maintain a small fleet of ships. Being able to provide such services is what draws skilled and talented people in. In fact, one of the main reasons that I joined the Starfinders, not that I consider myself someone with an amazing skillset, is for the compensated travel expenses. I know someone who on a mission when to three different planets and used two different ships, each fully stocked with equipment. Oh, he did tell me about one of the planets though, it was apparently prone to sandstorms. The crew he was with landed to explore the wreckage of a ship and accidentally ran into a creature with crystalline formations growing out of it..."
His not so subtle appeal for support over, Ceolor moves onto talking about the mission his android friend had gone on.

Sorry for being a bit late with a post, I wasn't entirely sure what to say... Ceolor's only been on one other mission and I don't want to spend too long talking about my only other SFS character...

“Fixit” Fidorius Nyxit |
Fixit continues his backup stories...
”yeah I heard about those missions as well. What about Salvation? Did you hear about that one? The Society has the rights to exploration of what seems to be an artificial moon. Well some people took it upon themselves to get in there before us so our team tracked ‘me down and checked out the surface of the moon. As I said, it turned out to be artificial with subterranean levels. I suspect we will be headed back there soon enough.”

The night has been going well, but you see Radaszam gesturing for you all to meet him in one of the service corridors running alongside the Skyreach Room for a discreet meeting.
The burly vesk doesn’t mince words. “We’ve got a situation on our hands. I’ve been following rumors of a somewhat notorious assassin who only recently showed up on Absalom Station. I just heard from one of my contacts that signs point to the First Seeker as the assassin’s next target—and if that’s the case, the assassin will almost certainly make a move tonight"
“Now here’s the thing. I’ve got enough security here that no one’s really in any danger; and besides, Luwazi’s no stranger to a fight. But it’d look really bad for the Society if someone took at shot at her in front of all these high-ups, you know what I mean?"
“On the other hand, if a team of crack Starfinders were to investigate the rumors and unmask the assassin, we’d be able to show that we can still hold our own and add some, oh, let’s say, gravitas to the First Seeker’s announcement tonight. Defeat this assassin in style, impress the investors, make yourselves look good in the process... What do you say?”
Jaxon Kyber |
Jaxon nods. "Stop an assassin? Sounds like a bit more fun than the party. Who are we to say no? What do we know about him?"
Medrick |
Medrick nods, glad he didn't change his gear. I don't understand why someone would want to kill our First Seeker. Not the time for questions though. He looks to the Vesk What information do we have on his plans, or is that all we know?
Darn, so close to winning them all over. I wonder what we will loose out on for not getting them all.
Markar |
I'm hoping that stopping the assassin will impress Royo enough to put him over the edge.
The assassin will require a weapon Marker notes actually quite angry about someone daring to go after the First Seeker who he has pledged loyalty too. What are the First Seeker's plans? Will she eat and drink anything? I hope the coward does not wish to use poison.
“Fixit” Fidorius Nyxit |
Fixit grunts his agreement. He was just getting into the swing of things at the party. And now he would need to leave and do some real work.
Tamon Si |
Tamon nods assent. His skills in the social arena continually confound him.
Shifty |
Radaszam does a double take, certain he heard something about shooting Royo, but is then caught up by the flow of questions. "The assassin is a particularly hard-to-trace individual known as Triloteya traced to a rented engineering bay in Sparks. He provides the address and urges the party to check out the location, hoping they find enough evidence to identify the assassin and her plans. Once they’ve checked out the space, they can contact him via comm unit and plan their next steps"
"You have been pretty impressive out there, so let me share a cache with you" he further provides you with two screamer grenades I, a tactical arc emitter, 1,600 credits, and a set of business stationwear armor.
Medrick |
Thank you for the gift. I will not fail you or the First Seeker.
Ready to check out the bay when everyone else is
Jaxon Kyber |
"1600 credits! Nice!" Jaxon pulls out his pulsecaster rifle. He activates and adjusts his surgical devices for more tactical utility. He sets the magnification for distance and to highlight heat signatures.
"I'll take the arc emitter."
Tamon Si |
Tactical analysis()....
(2) grenades, sonic damage...analyzing...this unit lacks the relevant training to make best use...not a front-line fighter...analysis complete.
I suggest Fixit take the grenades.
Arc emitter...Jaxon is an acceptable choice for this.
Business stationwear armor...highly useful for infiltration...most useful for a front-line fighter...preferably one with social skills...analysis complete.
I suggest Ceolor for the stationwear. And that the credits be reserved for unexpected contingencies.
Analysis complete, Tamon is ready to proceed.
“Fixit” Fidorius Nyxit |
Fixit nods his acceptance of grenade duty and stashes them away in his cheek pouches with a wide, grenade showing, grin.
”Don’t worry - I’ve had plenty of practice at this.”
Ceolor Xusha |
Sorry for the lack of posts the past few days. I was really out of it and my schedule had been messed up, but I should back on track.
Ceolor's face darkens as he hears about the possibility of a threat on the first seeker's life. He listens in silence, collecting details and information and trying to get a good picture of who the assassin might be and why they are targeting her. After hearing enough, he comments, "Why assassins have ever been needed in the first place baffles me, but hiring one to off Luwazi is a low I will not stand for."
He accepts the station wear from Tamon, nodding at the andriod's insights. "This will be useful for trying to get around without too much attention. Also it looks a lot easier to move around in then this freebooter armor, but I never thought I would have to change three times in one afternoon evening."
After changing out of his formal suit and old-new armor, Ceolor moves up to the group in the new=new armor. Tugging at the sleeves, he moves to show it off. "Well do I look good enough to pass for a business man out late in the after hours?" After a moment, Ceolor realizes his ball of black is still floating around him. "Dnagit, hold on, I'll dim Blackie here for a second and then i'll be ready to go." The red man then closes his eyes and concentrates for a second as the ball slowly shrinks down into a tiny speck and all but comepletely disappears.
"Alright let's go get this bastard or at least something to identify her with."
____________
I'm all ready for moving on!
Shifty |
The easiest way to travel from the Lorespire Complex to Sparks is
via a series of long lifts that traverse the Spike. This journey takes
about 15 minutes. After the journey through increasingly industrial elevators, you arrive in the rough-and-tumble neighbourhood of Sparks.
The air carries a distinctive metallic tang of mechanical industry, sharp chemical smells, and the stale odors of countless living beings crammed into too-tight spaces. The corrugated metal corridors are cramped, with ceilings only 10 feet high and lit only with stark LED lighting strips; the grinding, clanging, clattering sounds of countless engineers at work carry through the halls.
You are almost to the location - any preliminary actions?
Medrick |
Medrick flips open the panel at the butt of the gun and flips a switch. Best to try not to kill the enemy if they are living on the station, right?
Switching the gun to stun, then I am ready
Ceolor Xusha |
Ceolor takes a few moments to re-adjust his hair and try to dampen his expression to look like a worn out low-level corporate worker, who is heading back from a long day in the office. "Alright should I go on a head and see what things are like?"

Tamon Si |
Tamon casts Telepathic Message and Detect Magic, warily scanning from a discreet distance from Ceolor.
Shifty |
Medrick prepares his arc pistol whilst Ceolor goes for a more 'downtown' look.
Not sure how many low level corporates go to the office in freebooter armour and a laser rifle though
Meanwhile Tamon uses his spells.
What Telepathic message are you sending, just instructions to Ceolor?
Tamon Si |
What Telepathic message are you sending, just instructions to Ceolor?
"Lookin' gooooooood."
Actually, it's just for a minor communication buff so he can relay information to me without speaking. Then, as needed, I can relay it to the rest of the party.
Duration 10 minutes/level
“Fixit” Fidorius Nyxit |
Fixit checks his rifle, knife and other gear before sheepishly spitting out the pair of grenades and giving them a once over before inserting them, slightly more carefully this time, back into his mouth.
"Ready to go! Let's do it"
Shifty |
Ceolor pushes forward, trying to not look too out of place.
A couple of minutes casual walking sees the party in position, and Ceolor walks slowly past the location, casually scrolling through his datapad as though checking his social media broadcasts.
The stained plastic door of this engineering bay is no different from the dozens lining the grimy hallway. A glaring LED lighting strip illuminates the address code imprinted along the doorframe. Every few seconds, this light, along with all the others along the corridor, flickers briefly. Though the sounds of industry still echo through the corridors, this section clearly sees less traffic and is currently devoid of passersby.
Map up
Ceolor Xusha |
Ceolor changed into the business station wear, and isn't in the freebooter armor, but the AC bonus is the same... As foir the weapon, I was afraid it might stand out, welp back up plan time! Thank AbadarCorp for the Called weapon fusion!
Ceolor takes one last look at himself in a reflective surface, before deciding that the large rifle on his hip really doesn't fit in. He moves over to Tamon and hands him his gun. "Alright if things go south I'll send you a message, just make sure you get this within a hundred feet of me and I can call it to me no problem."

Alright lets go!
Tamon Si |
You can count on me. Be safe, sentient.
Medrick |
Medrick checks the door to find out if it is locked or not.
Jaxon Kyber |
"Well, we could lie in wait to see who comes in or out, but I think it's better to see if we can gain access."
He looks at the Yoski. "Fixit, can you get the computer to let us in?"
“Fixit” Fidorius Nyxit |
Fixit trundles forward and examines the door and keypad...
”Almost definitely.....given enough time but since we somewhat pressed for time let’s just see what we have here hmmmm?”
With that, he does an examination of the door for traps and other nasties before getting to work.
Perception, T20: 20 + 4 = 24
Trap Disarming if applicable -Engineering, T10: 10 + 15 = 25

Shifty |
Fixit was fairly happy there was no trap after spending almost a full minute examining the door and touchpad, but at the very last moment, the keen-eyed Ysoki spotted one wire that seemed out of place. Realising the wire was set to deliver an overload of current to anyone touching the datapad, the Ysoki grounds the wire and overrides the door code...
With that, the door slides open.
Rusted crates and plastic barrels crowed this cramped workspace. Discarded R2E packaging, beverage pouches, and packing material litter the space. A ledge along the south wall holds a stack of rubber mats in an approximation of a bed beside a high-quality industrial backpack. Ragged wires droop from an exposed conduit along the northern wall, occasionally showering the room in sparks as the lights flicker.
Two winged serpentine creatures known as electrovores linger near the northern wall, chewing on the exposed wiring. They see you at the open door and immediately fly to attack!

Startled by the unexpected door opening, Ceolor's concentration on keeping his apperance up fades as his small orb reappears over his shoulder. Catching sight of the wriggling masses inside the room, his pulse starts race and the adrenaline in his veins causes his eyes to take on an almost yellow glow to them.
He takes a few strides forward and whistles for his gun which pops into his hands, with a flip he turns off the safety and takes aim. All the while the glow from his eyes has also started to ebb from his hands as well. After a second to steady the shot, he fires at the thing taht had been gnawing on the red wires, the glow from his hands encasing the laser beam as it flies trough the air.

I just realized I forgot to move Ceolor earlier (the computer I was posting from doesn't play well with google drive.)
Te glow surrounding Ceolor intensifies a step as the fight continues. He takes a second to pull his small orb around his shoulders, creating the thin engery clock he'd shown off at the party. He takes aim again and fires at the red colored serpent thing.
"Good grief are these things creepy. I sure hope our assasin wasn't keeping these or something. I don't want to meet someone who'd consider living around them..." Ceolor gives a littel shudder at the thought, before shaking his head and commenting to Makar, "If you can back away from them soon, I can cause a small explosion around them!"
