Three Starfinders set to work and pretty soon Maija has had her augmentation removed. You can also show Tanit how to provide care for her while the family finds a replacement augmentation.

Hermot gestures to the old augmentation. "Do you want to keep that, or shall we dispose of it? Shenge is living in the lodging camp, a nearby worker' lodging area. You could ask him about the augmentation himself, but he seemed pretty pleased with it last time I caught up with him."

On the way to Sheng, Arratoi says to the group, "I bet he's not going to be in very good shape by the time we find him. I have a feeling his augment will have left him sick as well...."

The lodging is a good half hours travel in the end.

Foot traffic is low in this neighborhood, and most of the roughly dressed citizens ignore newcomers and expect to be ignored in return. Short halls connect several basic square lodging units together in simple patterns, while exterior areas with open tables and chairs act as communal gathering points. Few people walk the dirty streets here, and many of the doors are unnumbered with multiple locks installed.

I have a feeling that I am going to slow us down a lot in combat. I live on the east coast of the US and seems like most of our players are posting at 4am, my time.

Watching the group check the doors and search, Medrick double checks his gun to make sure it is still set to stun. If things get rough, don't want to go killing people. He stands in a place where he can see the group work on various doors, in case some trouble starts.

Medrick's gun is always set to stun and will take a move action to switch it to lethal damage. I forgot to mention that sooner but either way, it is set to it now.

Lynn moves from Will to HK to Arratoi, hovering near each of them as they check the doors. "He might be in one of the locked rooms. We don't know much of anything about the sickness that Maija picked up, especially how it progresses. It could be that he's completely unconscious. Poor guy..." She makes a show of biting her lip and looking anxious.

"Anyone know how to get locks open? We can relock them afterward if we're wrong... but better safe than sorry, right?"

Lynn will take out her datapad and look up tips for opening locks on the infosphere (or at least pretend to do so. Her engineering isn't THAT bad), then provide those tips to whoever actually attempts to open the locks.

Then before they can groan in disgust and protest against being inspired, Arratoi pokes his head through the door after Will.

Sweat-stained bedsheets lie half-draped on the floor, completely covering a three-foot tall lump on the floor while still clinging to the sides of the bed. Ignoring the sounds of the team she looks at the computer, grimaces and then beelines right to it. Cracking her knuckles as she gets ready to tinker with it. Taking one of the remote cables she plugs it into the base of her skull before conecting it to the computer "Let's see who or what is hiding here..."

Lynn pats HK on the back as Arratoi's "inspiring" jokes refocus them all on the task at hand. She quietly says "Thanks for protecting us from that trap. You still look a bit singed, but don't worry, there's a mending here with your name on it after we finish investigating!" She winks at the android. "Oh and Mother-One, thanks to you too!"

Once the door is opened, Lynn brings a hand up to cover her mouth. "Oh no..." She waits for a moment, then hesitantly asks "Shenge... is that you?" before Arratoi takes over with a much more composed address.

She changes the cadence of her humming (casting Telepathic Message, targeting the likely-deceased person under the sheet) and mentally sends "If you're still aware, please think back towards me. We'll try to help you if we can!" to check if the lump is merely paralyzed rather than deceased.

Mother starts work on the computer. She quickly finds his calendar for hte past month, including several visits to the Renew-You clinic and a follow-up appointment with Vrisken to discuss "promotional Activities" at a residential address farther out in the ring. She also notes a firewall that might hold more information, but getting through that might be difficult.

Meanwhile HK uncovers the sheet... and indeed there is a body under it.

This this augmentation is the cause of death; it appears that the circuitry connecting the datajack and Shenge’s brain grew out of control, trying to connect to components it couldn’t find.
