I like to do the "pray my cleric won't this will save" dance before previewing and submiting.
But yes, as Vulf says, you can preview your rolls and be all awesome when you roleplay hitting like the crazy Yankees costumed guys in The Warriors when you swing Torag's hammer like a bat :P
Dorrak
Wow, a big thumbs up to Dorrak for good descriptive text
Heh, thanks; just doing my part.
Save or sucks. Sorcs do NOT get into melee.
Well, I think you've proven to be quite useful in this encounter and you've surrounded yourself with a few scrappers. Hopefully the dice rolls will be as interesting as our character roles.

Rohan:
The goblins stand blankly, staring at Zelaria, thier dogslicers at thier sides. The girl manages to get away and the rest of the crowd is out of the area. You can hear screams from the rest of town, it seems this is not the only raiding party.
the only pretty girl left is the one who is currently bleeding. The only one who took damage the entire fight :P
Dorrak
I've never seen it (or used it) in play that way either but when I saw there was a goblin with a whip I almost cheered because the idea was there immediately.
When I selected it as Dorrak's additional domain spell I was thinking it would be handy to throw some rope out in front of himself as he takes up a defensive position. That way, it could be used as a tripwire against advancing enemies.
The thought of a goblin cracking a whip, pulling back, going to crack again only to find it coiled around his neck makes me smile...
Zelaria Quiatris
Wow, so much happened right after I went to bed.
Suggestion for rolls to be added to my crunch has been received and noted, Ryuko.
Question: As I have never played a sorcerer before, are the DCs for spell like abilities as the spell they mimic, with equivalent bonuses trained by feats, or no?
Rohan Drake
Well, for spell-like abilties, I have always played it that way. For me, if it mimics a spell, it is treated like that spell in terms of feats etc...
Zelaria Quiatris
Thank you much. Zelaria has expended her allotment of 1st level spells as of the latest hypnotism, so... I am left with Lullaby and 3 instances of Daze.
Keeping the town from burning seemed more important than resource management. hope that that will not prove to bite us in the bum later.
Rohan Drake
I agree, you've done a good job so far. Hey, you have an unlimited amount of mighty acid splashes for those goblins. Or you could always shiv some fools with your dagger.
Zelaria Quiatris
Yeah... sorc with -1 to hit going to town on goblins. That'll be the day.
Also, Acid Splash is at -3 because the goblins are engaged in Melee.
Hey, maybe Desna will bless her with luck and she'll slaughter them ALL in a glorious rush of violence! *laughs* I suppose we'll learn later, however, if Markellus and Florin take out the remainder of the group.
Rohan Drake
Hey, my wizard in PFS meleed some mooks so he could preserve spell slots. With his mighty +4 to hit(meaning his BAB at the time)he cut some fools. At the very least you could aid someone else's attack roll. You can hit the DC 10 to aide your beau, I believe in you.
Zelaria Quiatris
Haha. Set in stone, this little romance of theirs then? Aye, Vulf would be the only one who doesn't actively remind her of a father figure, with the paladin of Erastil being the kindly type and Dorrak's cleric being down right awesome. Rohan is just a really nice guy, and Florin is rather foolish for her tastes.
But, I have it on good authority that there are more females in this AP to woo.
Rohan Drake
Well, it seems that way. Being a female, you can always change your mind of course. There are plenty of eligible bachelors in the party. I had also heard that this AP has a bevy of beauties to woo. Though none as awesome as our own Zelaria.

Why change my mind when I have access to Dominate Person later?
You're so silly :P
If it's not okay that I have multiple lovers passed level 9, I'll just make it all okay with spells. *laughs*
Nah, as I previously stated, Zelaria's very much a one guy type of gal. Could be that Vulf finds greater purpose with a buxom AP NPC lady. She's not going to take it past hand holding and what not until she's sure they're equal, and if he's raging coz she's getting hurt when they're all there fighting these gobbos at the same time, he's not there yet.
@ Florin -
Wow. I... really don't see my character doing that. Mostly coz rocks are dirty and heavy though. :P
My husband ran a blue dragon disciple I've seen in play that cut things up pretty well. I know there's all manner of sorcs, but mine is definitely not a melee one. At least thus far.
Florin De Poisse
Lol yeah DDI's are no slouches in combat. My Sorc was of the 3.5 sucky flavour. I was basically lazy and told my DM my Character had amnesia (rubbish I know but Hollywood’s been doing it for years.) so he could write my backstory. I fully expecting a four letter word answer followed by the suffix ‘off’ but to his full credit he did it ...and it was awesome! I woke in a field being with a bunch of dead Drow around me and one of them woke up. So IC he doesn’t know he is a Sorc and this bloke has a knife so I reverted to base instinct and shoved his head in with a rock. And that was the beginning of my most fun D&D char ever.
Vulf Longfang
Im so utterly confused on this romance thing just let me know when she dumps vulf lol Ill just stick to the slight romane thing untried barbarian liking a sorcerers never be equals really but he already views her on a leval equal in strength to him. each of them have seperate powers and he already values that.
Zelaria Quiatris
hahaha. she's confused too. she's seventeen and he's the first boy that's shown interest that hasn't been, i imagine, the typical teenaged boy that would go for the ultra hot awkward girl who doesn't get out much.
No plans on dumping him, really, just, as Ryuko suggested, taking it slowly so they both figure each other out without the confusion of gobbos attacking the town and such, and things.
you gotta keep in mind that I'm a lady, and a bit of an older one, and married, so I remember the teenage years of crushing on burly dudes with a little more... experience than the average 17 year old, sheltered girl. So... OOC i put more thought into it than I probably should, which might confuse.
Rohan Drake
*High fives back*
Yea, part of me does not envy being Vulf right now. The awkwardness, the blushing, the unwillingness to just say what one is feeling, while everyone around you knows exactly what is going on. Yea, not missing that a whole lot.
Zelaria Quiatris
Is it that bad? Am I playing the typical teenage girl that well?
Wow, I guess I should commend myself if that is the case, since I was not the typical teenage girl. *laughs* Among the various reasons my husband married me was because I could tear down and rebuild an engine, a tranny, replace my own brakes, etc. But then, I was old and confident enough in myself to pursue him when the time came.
Getting hitched when yer an old fart has its advantages.
Rohan Drake
I wouldnt call it bad. Just hilarious, is all. Vulf is also doing his part as well. You're playing the naive teenage girl pretty well though.
Zelaria Quiatris
After the match, Zelaria leads Vulf to Iolana's booth. The streets have emptied in anticipation of the championship bout, the festival proper considered terminated in its wake, as preparations are being made for the dedication of the cathedral at dusk. With Vulf's assistance, the girl and her mother are able to break down their display and carry it back to their home in only one trip, a vast improvement over the set up.
Bjørn and Iolana's home is modest. It has been built with Ulfen fashion in mind, with an open hearth at the heart of the home, a kitchen and utility area to one side, and a sleeping area directly opposite. With the addition of Zelaria to the family, Bjørn had commissioned the construction of a small loft area above the common rooms for him and his wife to sleep in privacy, although, when Bjørn is absent, Iolana often shares Zelaria's bed for comfort. Zelaria leads Vulf up the ladder and shows him a clear space on the floor.
"If you plan to stay tonight, you may sleep here," she says and smiles. She gathers some skins from a chest shoved against one wall. "It is a tad drafty at night for one person," she continues, "you may wish to use these. Mama and I will sleep below."
Vulf Longfang
Vulf looks about the house in interest, he had never really been inside a family home, occasionally he was able to buy or perform for a room at an inn or pay for a loft in a farmers loft but this felt....comfortable. His own people lived to be one with the land, singing the trees to bend to their needs while remaining one with the original trees life.
As he comes up the steps to the loft he notices the small size of the room and glances at Zelaria, and then looks away and tries to busy himself by pitting his modest pack off in a corner, out of the way.
"It will be just like home. " he smiles at her and helps her set up a clear area to sleep on the skins. "Thank you again for this Zelaria, to find a place in the city to sleep would be outrageous. Seems like city folk raise their prices relative to the number of people. Remind me to thank your mother again as well she is very kind to put me up like this, as are you." He blushes slightly at this last part and busys himself with unpacking his traveling sack, undoing the bone tongs to pull out some spare skins of his own.
Let us know if this gets too confusing for you guys
Zelaria Quiatris
Zelaria hums and smiles, and nods her head, then steps back and takes a seat on Bjørn and Iolana's bed so that she might be on hand if Vulf needs assistance. "I also feared that you would have difficulty finding a place to stay tonight. So recent an arrival, and with so many travelers gathered for the dedication..." Zelaria trails and blushes.
"Is one reason," Zelaria admits. "That it is lonely in this house without Bjørn is another. The traveling folk, to which Iolana and I belong, know the value of hospitality. Finally, with you here, we've naught to fear from strangers that may be prowling the night," Zelaria offers a faint smile.
She draws in a breath, her spine straightening. "For myself, I wished you to know that there are good people in this world, too. And that family is not dictated by blood," she says. "Bjørn and Iolana are as Papa and Mama to me, and I know her heart is big enough to accept another into our home."
Zelaria Quiatris
Pardon my double post, but this is just a thought IC that cannot be expressed at the moment, as we are in the midst of a battle, but where the heck are those deputies of Sheriff Hemlock that the NPC Gorvi and Dorrak claimed were lurking about, making sure that the non-regular folk of Sandpoint were on their best behavior?
