"I think that Feldspar should go first. He could then provide an anchor for us as we cross over and siege the goblin stronghold."

Female Human Mooncaller Druid 4

Mikka rests her hands against her belly,, the birthmark on her skin shimmering with a wan silveery glow for a moment as some of the young druidess wounds close.

CLW1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Still looking somewhat tired she nods in agreement to Tania, "I agree that rest mayy be our best option, and doing so before crossing would probably be safest."

I'm getting the vibe that a rest is in order. We shall run with that and I shall type an update when I don't have to use the two finger option of the iPad (wife's on the puter at moment)

Male Dwarf Paladin / 4

Feldspar shrugs. "I'm happy to charge across to smite them all with my hammer if that's what we decide to do. But don't forget, these legs don't have your stride. I can only move so fast."

The group decided that falling back slightly and resting was the best option at this stage. The fight with druid and the dogs had drained more of their resources than they could afford and still attempt a frontal assault on the goblin fort.

All duing the night, the people on watch jumped at imagined sounds and creaking bushes. It was a tense thing, and while they managed to get rest, it wasn't comfortable by any stretch of the imagination. Those who could see comfortably in the night spent the middle watches awake, so it was left to Tania to complete the final watch. Jo'no was awake at first light as well, pouring over his arcane tomes and muttering quietly to himself as he prepared his spells for the day. The smell of the dead goblins was beginning to become oppressive in the tunnels and openings, and the complete lack of animal and birdcalls was a little offputting as well.

The quiet of the morning was suddenly shattered by a roar of such intensity that everyone in the camp jerked in response. Those who had been sleeping came awake and sat bolt upright in their beds, while Tania and Jo'no physically lept from fright.

The roar came again, long and low to start with, but peaking in crescendo of high pitched scream. It was not humanoid, that was for sure, and it had a strange echoing quality as if emanating from within a cavern or from the surroundings of a stage (at least in Tania's mind).

She stole a quick glance through the shroud of briars at teh goblin fortress, and noticed the new set of guards stationed at the front gate hadn't really responded to the roar. The sleeping gobin dogs had woken though, sitting with their ears pricked and heads turned her way as they listened and whined at the noise. Whatever it was, it was something the goblins had heard before.

It echoed out for a third time, its pitch becoming more insistant, the screaming component at the end dragging out for longer periods.

Ok, the sound is coming from somewhere within the briar maze itself, and quite close. The goblins don't seem to be too concerned at the moment, but the longer it goes on, the more likely something will come along to check what's going on.

The sun is low in the sky, but still has the advantage of being in the Goblins eyes as they look your way. Mot of tehm will avoid that at all costs, unless they are aware that an attack is coming. Goblins aren't fans of bright light after all.

Male Human (Varisian) Inquisitor/4

"Perhaps that cat had a mate?"

Best get my armor on.

Durk begins to don his armor.

"The plan stays the same only it has become more urgent. Feldspar crosses the bridge first, then Durik, Mikka, Durik, Tania, Jo'no, and finally me. Make your final preparations and let's move."

Waiting on a few more to let me know they're ready. If I haven't heard from people by tomorrow when I'm able to update, I'll run with your plan Idrian. Make sure you update spell lists as needed for the new day too folks.

Tania nods and gets her bow ready.

Male Dwarf Paladin / 4

"And there's no way to improve my stride?" Feldspar asks, looking around. He sighs. "Very well. I'll be happy to lead this fight."

He readies his shield, and clenches his warhammer tightly in his fight, his expression resolved. "Let us destroy the filth that has infested this place, for Torag's glory!"

The group readies themselves, donning armour and preparing weapons as the cacophany continues. Another roar echoes through the place, its insistance becoming more apparent with each scream.

They moved hurriedly onto the pathway leading to the bridge as Idrian laid out the plan of attack. As he got closer, Feldspar realised just how far the bridge truly was, and it looked a little unstable as well. Nothing for it now though, as there were golbins at the far end, squinting into the glare of the morning sun trying to make out what was moving on the other side of the bridge.

Ok, you get a surprise round and you get to roll initiatives. Please add a plus 4 to your inititive rolls to simulate the less than stellar condition the goblins find themselves in as the sun rises

Its a 60 foot dash across that bridge. That'll be a surprise round and full round for Feldspar to make it over hehe.

Good luck folks, you're about to frontal assault a fortress. The stuff legends are made of really (or short lifespans).

Realizing how long the bridge was, Tania changes her mind: "That bridge is too long. He'll never make it! I'm going in!"

With a thought, she conjures through her voice an incantation to modify her speed.

Ok, well everyone except Mikka gets to act before the goblins. For the ease of gameplay and hopefully stop too many long delays, I'm just going to roll Mikka up into the group with all of you as well.

Surprise round

Feldspar hefted his hammer and began to dash across the bridge. The wooden structure swayed as he thumped across the bridge, but he focused on his targets rather than the dreadful fall below him.

Tania chanted her magics, enacting her innate power to speed her movement so she could aid her friend on the far side.

Even as she did so, both Idrian and Durik released shots from their longbows, sending twin shafts into the mass of goblins on the far side. Two of the little green men clutched at the arrows in their chests and toppled lifelessly from the top of the cliff, disapearing into the surging foam and waves of the water below.

Mikka uses her mothers wand and summons forth the very same magics that had so badly damaged her recently. The tongue of flame licked out and burnt a third goblin into so much charred flesh and bone. It fell backwards, still burning and sending black oily smoke into the air.

Jo'no summoned up the powers to draw out an ally from another dimension. He held the power in his mind, chanting calmly to open the small tear in reality at exactly the right place so the creature could emerge at the best possible location.

Round 1 proper
Feldspar continued to run, making to other side barely in time before Tania sprinted across the span. Her rapid movement swayed the bridge alarmingly, and both of them heard it creak as she crossed. However, she still made it into what was left of the goblins.

Will update map when i get home from work.

Three goblins are dead (the closest ones). Idrian, Durik, Jo'no and Mikka to act this round. Mikka, I didn't check the range of the spell since im pressed for time right now, I just ran with it reaching this time. However, please check it before the next attack, as I suspect it only has a shortish range. Could be wrong though, it's been known to happen

Alternatively, you can hurl the flames up to 120 feet as a thrown weapon. When doing so, you attack with a ranged touch attack (with no range penalty) and deal the same damage as with the melee attack.

The ranged attacks continued to zip past the two who had crossed the bridge so far. Two more arrows flashed over the water. but only one found its mark. The final goblin fell back clutching the shaft that had punched through its throat and died gurgling on the ground. The other shaft missed horribly, thinking solidly into the side of fort and thruming slightly in the wood of the the pallisade.

A small tear in the fabric of the material plane opened up briefly amongst the golbin dogs that were now beginning to stand. From it tumbled a pile of heavy slate and shale rocks that formed into a suddenly very angry elemental. The creature slammed a stone fist into the nearest dog, driving its appendage into its ribs and cracking most of them with a wet sounding thwak. A streak of force followed into the dog, quickly killing it as it tried to wheeze out a yelp of pain.

The force bolt had flared and lit up the scene briefly, even against the grey light of the morning sun. Another flash followed it as a tongue of flame was launched from Mikka's hand. With no goblins left to target, she turned her attention to the remaining goblin dogs and cooked one completely.

The remaining two dogs scrammbled up and howled in fury and chaos as they tried to tear into the stone apparition before them. One of the dogs missed completely, but the second one closed its mouth on the animate stone and tore a sizable chink from the creature. The clamour and general flashiness of the magic had obviously drawn attention from the towers above, for a goblin voice shouted out loudly in alarm, and was quickly followed by more shouts from above. The fortress towers were now alert to the group as well, but they had easily achieved the beach head they needed.

Round 2 is up. Everyone can act. Let me know if you're moving as part of any actions. Cheers

Fixing Idrian with a look that falls slightly short of a glare, the young druidess quickly dashes across the bridge after Jono.

Round 2
The last of the goblin dogs go down in a flurry of arrows and sword strike as the archers and Tania cleave into them.

Both Jo'no and Mikka make a dash across the bridge, neither of them having quite enough speed to make all the way across. Miraculously, the thing holds together despite their combined weight, though it sways and creaks alarmingly.

With not immediate targets, the elemental ruumbles a low growl, moving around the small clearing and nudging the bodies near it to check for signs of life.

Feldspar, his opponents all felled before he could enter combat looks a little dissolute, but moves rapidly to the two heavy doors that lead into the goblin fort. One of them stands slightly ajar, showing just how little the creatures were expecting any trouble.

More shouts come from inside the fortress, but no goblins appear just yet. Idrian barely makes out movement along the tower closest to Tania, but nothing by which he can draw a shot. He figured the cretures would be out and firing bows or slinging stones in the next few seconds though.

Round three is up. Everyone can post

Jo'no moves to A32 and casts Mage Armor on himself. The elemental will be sent inside the doors of the fort, but with a move speed of 20', I suspect even with a double move it may not find any enemies, but at least it can set off any traps it walks over. This will be it's third round, so it then crumbles to the ground.

Tania moves back to the end of the bridge and recuperates her bow.

heading out for family dinner tonight. Will update tomorrow

Round 3
With the majority of the party across the chasm, Durik slung his bow and dashed across the bridge as well. His eyes weren't as good as Idrians at spotting detail, but even he could see the supports at the end of the bridge were looking dangerously wobbly after all the heavy running that it had just recieved.

His headlong run brought him up behind Feldspar at the doorway. Both men were forcd to step back slightly as the elemental that had destryed two fo the dogs barelled past them and wrenched the door open. It moved inexorably into the room, with what passed as its head swivelling about and looking for signs of goblin. As it got to the centre of the room, it paused and seemed to vobrate suddenly before crumbling apart and falling into another small tear in the fabric of the world. Not so much as a pebble was left of the thing.

Feldspar could clearly hear the shouts of goblins from within the place, but so far none were visible. A number of doors could be seen, and one side passage that led off from the room that the elemental had entered. Somewhere he could hear weapons clattering and armour clinking as goblins prepared themselves.

Behind these two, the others took what cover they could. Neither Mikka nor Jo'no found they could truly hide in the shribs on this side, for they were more of the same thornbush and briar from the mainland. However, they managed to squeeze some protection from the archers that suddenly appeared at the towers.

A series of arrows whistled in amongst those on the ground, targetting the most exposed group members. Durik hissed as one of the goblins found their mark, its arrow causing a painful but not dangerous wound in his shoulder (Hits AC 20, 4 damage). All the other arrows fell wide of the targets.

Idrian also found himself the subject of a few shots, but they fell well short of the mark as the goblins shortbows had trouble reaching him with any acuracy. He returned the favour, firing back at the goblins in the towers but cursing as his shot thunked into the wooden pallisade that they stood behind. Now he would have to cross under fire, unless his friends could deal with those archers first.

Round 4 is up. Everyone can post. Mikka, I had you move into cover for this round. There were no targets when you moved but you could have technically readied an action to hurl fire at one of the goblins that appears. Feel free to make that action as well as a round 4 set of actions when you get the time to post.

Feldspar pushed in to the building, following the lead of the summoned lemental. His stern gaze roamed the room, but he found no immediate target. The sounds of the goblins were coming from everywhere in here it seemed, and from this vantage point he could see multiple points of entrance. In a few moments, this room was likely to be flooded by goblins coming from other parts of the fort.

Tania moved in behind him, her bow slung on her back and her longswerd at the ready. The two of them glanced nervously at each other. So far so good, but how long could their luck hold out.

Durik shrugged off the wound to his arm and returned fire on the goblins in he tower. His shot thunked into the timbered wall of the tower though, easily missing the goblins up there. The creatures jeered at him, spitting over the side as they did so. That was all the opening Idrian needed though, his shot taking the closest goblin to him through the head and dropping its lifelss corpse over the side of the towers wooden walls even as the half elf began to cross the bridge.

The other two ducked back, but not fast enough to avoid Jo'no's missiles of force. The magic blast struck one of teh goblins heavily and it dropped its bow in fear, turning from the palisade and running out of sight. A savage bellow and a sickening crack told of some other goblin that was obviousl in charge up there showing its displeasure at the fleeing culprit.

Mikka also unleashed another tongue of flame, but it washed across the sea dampened wooden pallisade harmlessly, missing its target this time. She dropped back through the door as well, hoping that the goblins wouldn't be able to target her in there.

Two more goblins appeared on the towers then, both of them dressed in soldi looking leather armour and sporting shortbows as well. Under the direction of these two, the remaining goblins on the towers fired at the two companions left exposed. The two on the closest tower targeted Durik in the open, while the three on the farthest tower stretched their bows to their limit to fire at Idrian as he crossed the bridge.

Durik (Goblin hits AC 20 for 1 point, Goblin Commando hits AC 17 for 3 damage. Apply those as needed (I haven't checked your AC yet))

Idrian (Unlikely these hit, but Goblin hits AC 14 for 2 damage, next goblin hits AC4 for 1 damage, goblin commmando hits AC 17 for 3 damage. Note you have +2 AC for the cover teh bridge ropes provide as well. Apply those as needed)
