Female Human Mooncaller Druid 4

Mikka enters the room moving to engage the creatures, scythe in hand. Moving to G8

The party exploded into action, led by Feldspar with his hammer. The dwarf thundered across the platform, his heavy body causing it to shudder as he moved. He timed his charge perfectly to strike teh beast as it stodd from its meal, the lunt head of his weapon crunching into its head and causing significant damege there.

Tania was not far behind, leaping across the platform to provide long support with her spear, the point of her weapon also finding teh creature and driving deep.

Their foe was still standing right up until a bolt of arcane force lept from the wand that Jo'no held in his hand. The magic force blasted through the creatures natural magical resistance and shattered its chest with a wet smack. The beast flew backwards, trailing steam and black blood from its wounds as it fell.

Mikka moved to block one of the stairwells while Algus followed suit with the other. The alchemists stair was partially blocked by collapsed rubble, as was that entire side of the room, but not so badly that the remaining creature couldn't engage from there if necessary. Algus had imbibed his mutagen as he went, swelling in size and tearing the fabric of his shirt along the seam as his body shifted and twisted with the strnegth of the brew.

Idrian moved into the room and fired at the remaining sinspawn, his arrow whistling as it went before striking solidly into his opponent. (Rolled for you Idrian. You hit for 7 damage)

The creature responded by stepping and assaulting Feldspar with all of its fury. It raged as it attacked, hissing and spitting while its jaws snapped at the Paladin and its two claws raked his armour.
(Bite hits AC 21, 3 damage. Claw 1 hits AC 11, 3 damage. Claw 2 hits AC 21 for 5 damage. Creature 5ft stepped and engaged. Feldspar is on a platform 6 feet off the ground, but they can reach you still. If the bite hits you must make a DC 12 will save or be so overcome with rage that you are sickened for the next 3 minutes)

A terrible roar of anger came from the room that Tania could now see partially into. A twisted creature of nightmare emerged from that room, its body a mess of limbs and bodyparts seemingly melted together from many goblin bodies. The creatures red eyes glowed with a mystical force and when it saw the bard standing on teh platform it moved to engage her.

Round 2 actions are up

map update

Jo'no focus his eyes to see that he is indeed seeing such an abomination. The Shoanti moves forward and casts a spell hoping to inhibit its movement and trying to give Tania and her long spear an advantage.

Jo'no moves to G7 and casts grease on the wooden walkway E10 and E11 (DC 15 Ref Save)

Thanks for rolling for me. I didn't think to roll dice in my last post.
Idrian steps forward a bit to get a better angle of attack (G6) and looses another arrow.

Tania narrows her eyes at the incoming chaos. Let's see if I can stall it. Getting her hand oily on some rag in her pocket, she raises her hand and splashes oil in front of her: "Lubrix!

My dad used to say that two coats is better...

Tania readies for the chaotic mess of goblins to move forward to engage it with the longspear, hoping it will either be on its multiple asses, or too busy about the grease on the floor to care about a shiny piece of metal slipping in.

Just finished a ton of marking and reporting. No condition to think about much at all sorry. Will update tomorrow.)

The smell of the goblin creature filled the room. It smelled like th freshly turned mud of a bog or silt river after heavy rain. Between its cacophanous wail and the metalic scream of the sinspawn, the room was also filed with noise, making it a complete mess of chaos.

Despite this, Jo'no stepped forwards with calm alacrity and summoned forth his grease spell directly onto the platform where the beast stood. For a moment its feet seemed to slide, but it barely held its ground on the wooden platform.

Tania stepped up to it and tried to strike it with her spear, but even slipping slightly as it was, her thrust wasn't good enough to hit the thing.

Idrian took aim at the Sinspawn, careful not to strike his companions who were now fighting it, but his shot skipped off the edge of the platform and flew past its head instead.

Algus had no more luck than the hunter, even though he had moved to flank the creature and was massivley muscled now. His blow seemed almost comical in its ineffectiveness. (natural 1 <sigh>)

Mikka however swung her scythe with deadly accuracy, slicing a deep gash that sprayed dark blood across her and Feldspar. The creature screamed at her, but continued to focus on the dwarf before it.

To everyones horror, the Sinspawn that they had felled earlier began to twitch, and they could see the wounds they had caused healing as it lay there on the ground.

The active sinspawn again attacked at the paladin, its wild thrashings driven by pure rage. (Claw 1 hits 16 for 5 damage. Claw 2 hits 19 for 4 damage. Bite hits 13 for 5 damage plus make save as before if it hits)

The goblin creature seems to pause for a moment, its chest heaving in some form of convulsion as if it were choking on some bone or morsel of food. Then, with a heave of muscle and spasm of it chest walls, it spewed forth a great stream of blood and bile from its mouth. The jet of foul fluid seemed to go on forever, coating Tania and Feldspar both in its acidic corruption before it had stopped. (Line of acidic blood and vomit. Deals 7 points of acid damage. Reflex save DC 13 for half. If you take damge from it, you also need to make a DC 13 fort save or be nauseated for a round. Tania and Feldspar are affected by the 20ft line)

Round 3
Ok everyone can have their round three actions. Also, Feldspar I don't think you attacked last round, you can resolve that as well. The Sinspawn is flanked for you now as well.

Tania ducks as best she can (1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16) and manages to avoid most of the blow. Still, the mixture of blood and vomit covers her partially and she feels disgusted (1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4) and can't help but loose all her stomach content on the floor. Unable to attack, she drops her longspear and moves forward, drawing her longsword and waiting for the beast to attack.

Nasty! (half of 7 is 3, right?)

Idrian grunts at missing his target. He draws and fires again.

Composite Longbow: PB Shot, Precise Shot

We usually round down, so only 2 damage. Works the same for my baddies though so if want to play round up now's the chance to say so.

Now Idrian, that was a better shot :)

Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 - 1 = 5
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 = 8

Round 3

Determined to see the sinspawn dead, Feldspar whirls his warhammer around once again.

Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 4 - 1 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 2 = 7

Male Dwarf Paladin / 4

Oops. Forgot the Fort save for that line of acid: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Feldspar feels his stomach roiling at the spray of filth coating him but swallows his disgust down and forces himself to keep his mind on the fight.

Feldspar, in case you need it, you also get +1 on your attacks on the sinspawn below for attacking from higher ground.

Knowledge - whichever would be most applicable: (arcana, dungeoneering, geography, history, local, nature, planes, religion) to determine any sinspawn weakness: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 +1 if arcana.

Jo'no will target the goblin abomination with his wand.

Assuming it also has spell resistance: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Female Human Mooncaller Druid 4

Mikka swings again at the hideous beast.

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
2d4 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5

The combat continued to rage, the sounds echoing loudly in the glowing room.

Tania prepared herself as best she could while she emptied the contents of her own stomach after the spray of vile liquid struck her. She watched through bleary eyes as a magical bolt from Jo'no struck the beast, even as it drew a myriad of weapons from around its body into its grotesqly fused arms.

Idrian calmly drew a breath and fired again, this time his arrow flying true and striking the beast in the head. The strange orb rocked back on a neck chorded with muscles, but still its eyes focused on the Paladin before it.

Feldspar struck out with his weapon, putting as much might into the swing as he could muster and striking one heavy blow to the creature. This worked to distract it from Algus who tore into it from behind, all but tearing one of its ars from the socket but still it wouldn't die.

Mikka swung her Scythe as well, but the blade just missed the creature, whistling passed its head.

In response it went beserk again, thrashing and snapping with foul strength of purpose, hitting the dwarf twice more with its claws but missing with its snapping mandibles. It was all but dead before them but still attacked with great ferocity.

(Claw 1 hits 23 for 5 damage. Claw 2 also hits 23 for 4 damage. Bite hits 11 for 4 damage. Guessing you won't need to save against the bite Feldsapr)

The goblin creature steps in to Tania, its feet slipping and sliding under it as it goes but still managing to make an attack on the bard. It swings a longsword with two of grotesque hands, bringing the strangely beautiful weapon up and over as the young woman stands heaving on the platform. She screams as the blade bites through armour and flesh, rending her savagely across her back and shoulder. (Unconfirmed crit. 11 damage though. Ouch! It moved to engage and is considered flat footed for this round since it needed to make accrobatics checks to shift. Not sure about teh ruling, but I belive it needs to keep making them in order to do more than just stand there)

On the ground, the felled Sinspawns eyes began to twith as it started coming around.

JoNo

Spoiler:
Dungeoneering helps. Most creatures that have the capacity to regenerate like this are prevented from doing so when teh flesh is seared with Acid or fire. If none is available though, cutting the head from the creature usually suffices in preventing it rising again. (have to drop them actual death/neg con mod before they stop regnerating. Or burn them. I forgot this ability when you fought the first one. Oops[/ooc]

Next round is up

Male Dwarf Paladin / 4

Oops. I meant to have Feldspar use Lay on Hands on himself earlier but completely forgot as I was typing up all the other details of his attacks and saves. So since I'm a dork and forgot, Feldspar goes down.

As the second claw strikes Feldspar, ripping long gouges in his skin, the dwarf cries out aloud and falls to the ground, warhammer tumbling out of his grasp.

Heading off for two nights up the caost with my family to kick start my holiday. Bad timing for my PbP's, leaving both of them in fairly nasty combats. Good timing for me though, since I'm a little mentally fatigued from marking and report writing. Will update when I get back. Cheers

Jo'no shouts out, "Hit the sinspawns with fire or acid, or cut their heads off if you can!".

Jo'no follows this up by throwing a spray of acid at the sinspawn in front of him.

Acid Splash - ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
acid damage: 1d3 ⇒ 3

Idrian hurries to stand over Feldspar, dropping his precious bow along the way and drawing his two handed sword. At the first opportunity, Idrian attacks the sinspawn.

Greatsword
to hit 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 damage 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 2) + 1 = 5

Tania feels her whole body clamour in pain for her to flee, but the way back is cut and, as she hears Feldspar's body clashing to the floor, she knows she must stand and stay.

"We can't leave him behind, dwarves taste so foul, those poor creature will get sick!"

Taking advantage of the chaos goblin's focus on balance, she grabs the potion at her belt and downs it.

FF means no AoO, right?
CLW 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

The heavy thump of the Dwarf Paladin signals a change in teh battle for the group. Jo'no swiftly changes targets, spraying the angry Sinspawn with acid from his fingers. The blob struck the creature in the face and burned into its flesh with a sizzle of melting fats and skin. With a hiss, the creature turned to face this new threat but as it did, it finally succmbed to its wounds and fell twitching to teh ground.

Taking no chances, Algus grabbed the creatures head and tore viciously to the side, snapping bone and tearing muscle until the thing haung limply from a bloody tatter of skin and nerve chord. This one wasn't getting up. (Algus does a cou de gras on the newly felled critter)

Idrian moved to stand over Feldspar, leaning down and skewering the helpless sinspawn with his Greatsword and preventing it from standing again as well. The creaure's body still seemed to be healing though it wouldn't be standing any time soon.

Tania took advantage of the goblin creatures current predicament to heal herself of teh damge she had taken earlier. The potion filled her with heat as it burned away the damage from the savage cut, but she still stood looking at the angry creature that seemed to bristle with weapons at the moment.

Waiting on Mikka to act. Both sin spawn are down. One is dead, the other is heavily into negatives again but still regenerating. Idrain, I turned your attack onto the recovering one instead. Even an 8 can hit a completely incapacitated and immobile target :). Not enough damage to kill it at this stage, and since you had to move to get there, don't believe you can make it a cou de gras. But it stops it standing up this round.

Only the goblinoid creature remains, and it also seems to be recovering from the damage Jo'no's magic missile did earlier. It's still flat footed on the grease though.

Female Human Mooncaller Druid 4

Seeing the odd creatures' ability to regenerate Mikka stikes the other fallen sinspawn her scythe ensuring it never rises to defile the land again.

Mikka's weapon scyhted downwards in a deadly arc, sending the final sinspawns head rolling across the floor. The druidess sighed a little prayer to her godess as she did so, realising the horror and unaturalness of the beasts this group had slain.

Tania stood freshly healed before the goblin creature, watchin as it again miraculaously kept its balance and lept from the platform, engagin her from the gound next to it which had no greasy coating. The creature left itself open to her blade as it dod so, but it seemed unconcerned to do so. (Tania gets an AoO on the goblin thing. It is now outside the grease effect.)

Spinning from its move, the beast attacks with the longsword again, it's aim still deadly Hits AC 17, 9 damage

Jo'No rushed across to aid Feldspar, drawing out his healing potion as he did so, while Idrian moved to engage the goblin. His sword swung about in a great arc, striking the creature as it tried to duck below the weapon. It was a move the half elf had expected, having seen many a goblin try the same thing in the past. The weapon sliced deeply into the beast, which showed no sign of pain and continued to attack ferociously.

Next round is up. Jo'no and Idrian have already posted for this round. Everyone else can act. Feldspar can make a stabilise roll since Jo'no cannot give you the potion yet. Idrian, you couldn't move into the grease area since it was only on the platform and the goblin blocked it. I moved you beside it to engage. Your bonus for favoured enemy counts. It is both a Goblinoid and an aberation. Both Sinspawn are now down permanently. Tania, don't forget to post your AoO along with your normal round actions.

AoO: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10; 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Tania can't profit from the opening as she bring her sword to bear a little late.

She almost avoids the creature's wrath, but somehow the sword finds a spot and enters deeply. She yells as she feels her knees shake from pain. Idrian's coming gives her some respite and she feels there is still a chance for them to prevail.

She brings her sword up and uses Idrian's timing to drop it down from above on the creature's center of mass.

Feldspar's Stabilize Roll:

1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 2 - 4 = 13

Feldspar stops bleeding, though he is still motionless on the ground.

Tania struck at the creature twice with her blade, but neither of them came close enough to hit the thing. Despite its awfully twisted appearence, it seemed to be quite skilled with its weapons and defenses in combat. Now it wasn't trying to balance, it could easily attack with all of those weapons as well.

Algus rushed around the room, ducking beneath the walkway to strike at the creature from its side. His big hand connected with it but barely did any damage to the thing. All the time it fought, its flesh was knitting together as well.

Mikka to act before goblin this round.

Female Human Mooncaller Druid 4

Mikka makes her way over to Feldspar, kneeling as she brings a hand down to his chest.

CLW1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Male Dwarf Paladin / 4

Feldspar gasps as the healing energies rush through his body from Mikka's magic, waking him.

"Torag be blessed," he mutters. "Thank you, friend Mikka."

Mikka knelt and channeled her ability to regrow and repai living tissue into Feldspar. She could sense where the damage was, could feel the pulse of blood as it leaked from severed vessels. Closing her eyes, she sealed as many of them as possible, stopping the bleeding and returning the Paladin to a semblance of life.

The goblin creature went berzerk. It was surrounded by foes and free of the hampering grease effect now, so its arms went into a spasm of barely contained fury, lashing out at all of its foes within reach. The longs sword slashed at Idrian, along with avicious little dagger it held a hand on that side of its body. The bigger weapon sliced easily through the hunters defenses, drawing a massive slashing wound along his front and eliciting a gasp of pain from the man. The dagger missed completely, its blade seemingly useless in the bizarlly attatched appendage.

A well crafted handaxe swung at Algus, but it struck the wooden legs of the walkway instead of the alchemes. The head of the weapon stuck there momentarily before the goblin reefed it from the planking to conitnue the assault.

Goblin technically can't reach Tania any more, though she can stretch down to attack it. Split its attack between Idrian and Algus. Long sword hits AC 21 for 11 damage. Dagger and Axe both rolled less than 10

Next round is up. Everyone can act.

Also, I wanted to remind you guys that one of you is carrying a wand of cure light wounds from Father Zanthus. I'm not sure who has it, but nearly all of you can use it (except Jo'no infact, unless he has ranks in UMD).

Jo'no will pour the unstoppered healing potion into the now conscious, dwarf's mouth. Jo'no will then move out of everyone's way.

Potions in my games give the full bonus plus dice roll. In this case it would give Fedlspar 6 hp rather than 2 :). I do this becuase their cost and risk in taking them during battle need to be balanced to make them worth it (particularly at higher levels)

Feeling much recovered, Feldspar nods his thanks to Jo'no and gets to his feet, drawing his waraxe. "Is it just that monstrosity left?"

The whirl of blades and clash of steel sends sparks rising from the weapons of Idrian and the goblin creature. It's long sword managed to deflect the hunters greatsword, but in doing so it took its eyes from Tania. Her weapon plunged down throgh the top the monsters head, piercing the skull and punching through what she hoped was its brain. It slumped on the weapon, dragging her down with its weight and nearly forcing her to topple from the platform.

Algus growled in his beastial form, stepping in and plunging his dagger into the creatures chest repeatedly until it stopped twitching and its flesh stopped repairing.

The sounds in teh room dropped back to ragged breathing and the groans of the wounded. At last they had secured this position.

(Well that was a vicious little combat. That goblin was nasty when it hit. Good rolls on my critters made it particularly nasty on you lot. You earned your xp in that one.

Now some good news. The weapons it carries are all +1 magical. Thats dagger, handaxe and longsword. Some of you will find those useful. That is the extent of the treasure here though.

Will do my next big update tomorrow as I have a LAN today. You are nearly at the goal of finding the Quasit though. That one will most likely be tough as well.

Tania exhales sharply, grimy with blood and slashes all over, she sits bluntly on the platform, almost dropping her sword: "Phfouh! That things was tough... What was it? It looks like fused goblins..."

If the wand is produced: "I thought we had something for all those cuts and bruises. I could use some knitting..."

The chambers nearby the scene of teh battle proved to be immense. The sound of the groaning they had heard earlier turned out to be a room full of animated corpses. Luckily, the moving corspes had been confined to deep pits in a stone floor, and covered by wooden planking seemingly ripped from the previous room.

As the group moved into the room, the undead seemed to sense their warmth and began to moan loudly, scrabbling at the walls that entrapped them. The corpses could not escape their confinement however, and posed no immediate threat to them. Some other force was still at large in this place though, and needed to be dealt with soon.

A side passage led from the zombie rooms, passing a ruined stairwell that once spiralled further into the earth. At the end of this passage they found a strange room pulsing with magic. Jo'No again use his magical sight to determine its effect as some form of levitation effect. Floating inside the chamber were a number of ancient scrolls and a tattered tomb. A bottle of wine also floated nearby, near to a rotting haunch of meat that looked suspiciously like something from the Sinspawn. Maggots crawled through the meat, and some floated free, wriggling futiley in the air as they tried to get back to their source of protein. Mikka could feel the presense of the life in this room, and realsied it was the first time she had some true contact with her powers. Somehow, this room allowed access to life outside the building that was not avalable elsewhere.

No other exits seemed visible from the place, and searching it meant entering a magical effect none of them were sure about. Backtracking, they found the second corridoor with the series if rising stairs also ended in a shattered stairwell. This one led upwards for a short time before coming to a borken end. The corridor passed through a room with a water pedastal. The fluid seemingly bubbled up from teh centre before washing down the sides and vanishing into small recesses on the floor. It too was magical, some form of perpetual water device that kept the fluid cleansed of foulness.

With both of those pathways completely searched, it only left the first corridor the group had chosen to ignore in preference of investigating the red statue. Moving along this room, they came to a an area with a raised plinth. Some form of platform was kept here, most likley used to hold religeous statues at one stage, but now covered in shattered stone and marble. A set of twin doors stood at the end of a side corridor, their surface smeared with fresh blood stains that had only been there in the past few days or so. The blemish on the steel stood out starkly in a place that was otherwise immaculate in its appearence, and warned them that something else lay beyond these doors.

Ok, let me know what resourceswere needed to recover from your injuries to get to this stage. If you don't use any, let me know that as well. We can deal with the other rooms of interest after this one, as they can pretty much be tackled at your leisure which means taking twenties etc. This way we get through much of the exploration without the tedium of a weeks worth of questions and updates that don't lead to much. Hope you don't mind

Alternatively, if you are feeling too beat up, you can always return to the surface to rest up, but who knows what will occur in these chambers in that time.

Over to you guys. We're not in combat so post away. Cheers

Map update

Jo'no appears very interested in the levitation room.

I would like to attempt to examine the tome and scrolls further. I am not certain if entering the room is safe. Perhaps with a rope and my cloak I could make a basic throwning net to try to capture the scrolls and tome. I would like to drag them to the edge to examine them. This is a room of great magic, so without studying their magics further I am concerned about what might happen if we try to remove them from the room. Also, since this means I will be examining them at the edge of the room I would like to see what happens if I stick only my hand in the room."

Idrian is ok.

Doesn't Jo'no have acid splash? We can wait for him while he melts down the trapped undead.

Tania is missing 12 hp. Who has the wand?

Tania walks in a state akin to reverence through the underground structures. Who built this?!? she wonders, until they reached the fountain and the blood stained door. Presently, her sense of awe is replaced by caution as she moves quietly near the door. She waves to Idrian to offer the hunter a chance to check it before they proceed further.

Knowledge (history or local) to try and identify who created those tunnels: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

Jo'no briefly explored the functionality of teh room. Placing just his hand inside seemed to have no adverse effect upon him, though the moment he did so it appeared as if bands of energy began to arc through the red walls. As he watched them, they seemingly formed words in some arcane language.

Draconic

Spoiler:
Although this language isn't actually draconic, it is close enough that you can decipher some of the words as they appear. They are mostly words of anger and wrath, with no clear connections between them.

The rope trick seems to work well enough, and before long the mage has both the tome and scrolls in his hands. These are also written in a strange tongue, though it is likely he could decipher them with magical means

Read magic allows you to decipher the scrolls and the tome

Spoilered for space (pretty much arcane spells for Jo'No in the book)

Spoiler:
Scrolls
1x Flaming spehere at CL5
1x Burning hands at CL5

tome has
1st level spells - Summon monster 1, shield, sleep, cause fear, ray of enfeeblement, burning hands

2nd level spells -
Hideous laughter, flaming sphere, scare

Jo'No, you can replace one of each level with a spell from APG if you'd like, or ultimate magic (though I don't have that book)

As for the zombies, you can pick them off at leisure later using whatever means you like. They can't escape and you really have no risk of falling in unless combat erupts in there (unlikely)

I must have been tired or in a rush to have missed that bloodstained part.

Idrian is surprisingly interested in the old spellbook. It is easy to see that he has had some measure of basic training in the arcane arts.

Idrian inspects the fountain area trying to discern what happened and the level of danger the group is in. He finishes by moving to the double doors and listening.
Perception 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21 +2 v Humanoid (goblinoid)

Having inspected the magical room, the group found themselves at the bloodied door. Tania urged them to return to the surface and rouperate before pressing on. While the others where thinking this over, Idrian carefully listend at the door. Behind the grat metal panels he could hear a high pitched voice ranting and ocasionally screaming in some strange language.

The thickness of the doors caused the sounds to be muffled, but the half elf also thought he could hear a familiar growling noise that he Sinspawn seemd to make.

Infernal tongue (Not sure if anyone actually speaks that language but anyone who listens at the door has a chance to catch this phrase if they can speak infernal)

Spoiler:
"How dare they! I can feel them in my domain, poking about my books and killing my precious pets. We must kill them my pet! When they come for me, we will kill them all and use them to make more for the kingdom. Arrrghh! I can't believe the temerity of these material born fools!

Jo'no seems quite surprised by finding an unattended spellbook. He voraciously scans through it, itemizing all the spells. He is impressed that the bounty hunter has interest in examining the book. "Always good to see those interested in learning the arcane craft. If you wish to learn more I could assist you in your studies."

After reading off the spells contained in the book, Jo'no stows it away and moves his attention onto the scrolls. He reads off the spells and asks if anyone else can make use of them.

Note: I haven't really read many of the spells in either Ultimate Magic or APG, so I'll just stick with the core rulebook spells you indicated.

After listening at the door, Jo'no will whisper back the translation in common.
