While at the caravan, Lio goes to the women's wagon. As nothing was taken, she retrieves her box of diamond dust, some ground up powdered gold, paper, pen and ink, and she places all of these things into her waterproof sack, which then goes into her backpack. After a moment she emerges from the women's wagon. She looks around for the best place to put a rune that will trigger if anyone comes to be nosy about the empty caravan.

"Myri, Gwnewch yn siŵr bod y ceffylau yn ddiogel." Lio says. Then, once she has located a suitable spot, she says, "Aime goen ta need tehn menets, ah'll beh ahs queck as ah kann." Then she begins her ten minute ritual.

Myri checks on the horses and makes sure they have oats and water.

Then rejoins the others.

I am assuming there is no coral or barn, so that is all she does

Myri is happy, though not overjoyed to see her. Unless someone says otherwise, Silmemir is coming with them. Myri thinks that her friends are more important than their material goods.

Early Evening

Night has already fallen some time ago in these northern lands when you reach the Rimerunners Guildhall. It is a large building on the Riverfront with walls of solid masonary and a roof of sturdy shingles. Stout wooden shutters and iron bars block all of the windows.

Unless informed otherwise, I will assume that all humanoids are coming; please let me know if you stay behind instead.

You will not be let in if you bring wolves, so I will assume they are not coming unless informed otherwise.

You will not be let in wearing any armor or weapons, so I will assume you have not brought any unless informed otherwise. Attempting to sneak in a small weapon would take a Sleight of Hand check; you could reasonably expect the DC to be on the difficult side.

Mel does not have a problem with this. But... she should probably not be dressed like a pauper either...

Myri stares back. Her expression does not change.

And to forestall the question, they will not have facilities to "check" armor or weapons.

It would not, however, be considered strange to have a few men-at-arms cooling their heels outside while the merchants meet, if any of you are nervous about walking through the streets of Kalsgard unarmored and unarmed, so let me know if you would prefer to take this option.

Male Human Cleric 10

Just before sundown, Alaric excuses himself to read. He stays close by the group, but outside of the actual circle. Periodically, he looks up at Mel, as though to reassure himself that she is still there.

GM:
Not sneaking in any weapons, but since this is post sunset, Alaric has had a chance to recover spells. As such, he will be replacing the following: Doom, Share Languages and Bestow Curse with Inflict spells of equivalent levels.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Kyrademon:
I am going on the assumption that wands would be considered weapons, so Mel does not have those for the meeting.

She will be casting Cultural Adaptation prior to the the meeting, preferably without being observed. It has a duration of 10 min/level so 50 min, please let me know if it wears of prior to the any diplomacy rolls during the meeting. :)

Since it has been brought up, a Knowledge Local check reveals that a factor such as the ones you will be pretending to be would normally wear a set of clothing worth at least 30 gp and jewelry worth at least an additional 50 gp.

"One way or another." Hrunndalf is beyond anger; emotion replaced by cold functionality.

Hrunndalf matches the knight's gaze, and gives an almost imperceptible nod. His voice is low, and ominously quiet. "We are at war now."

Kalimac has his courtier's outfit with appropriate accessories. So he's set.

Male Human Cleric 10

Alaric shows up in his street clothes. No jewelry.

Myri is more than happy to wait whatever distance away would be appropriate with Attatoq and Silmemir...and any armor or weapons that don't currently want to accompany their owners.

or to leave her items with anyone else who happens to decide to stay just outside the building.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

After Alaric is done reading but before they leave for the meeting, Mel goes off to the room she has been sharing with Alaric. She isn't gone long, but when she comes back she looks decidedly uncomfortable in the clothes she has on: black long pants paired with a black deep V-neck sweater. The outfit shows off her lean, athletic form. Her long hair is pulled up, making the amber earring and necklace easy to see.

Kyrademon:
pegging this outfit at 35 gp and wearing about half of the jewelry set, so 50 gp there.

She is wearing her magic belt and amulet, but both should be covered by the clothes.

Wolves would not be allowed anywhere near the building. You can have a contingent waiting some distance away with the wolves, or a group without wolves waiting outside the building, or both, but they cannot be the same group.

Kyrademon:

Well, assuming Myri found/was shown something fairly appropriate for this encounter during the girls clothes shopping binge, she would be wearing that, and have part of one of her sets of jewelry (necklace and earrings maybe?) that goes with it.

Rhost, who had been in the process of removing his armor, starts to re-don the breastplate (and Helgarval, unless someone else needs a turn).

And as usual, please simply decide for your own character. Right now I have Myri some distance away with the wolves, Rhost outside the building, and Kalimac, Melinda, and Alaric going inside.

Edited to add: and Hrunndalf outside with Rhost.

Male Human (Ulfen) Oracle of Battle 10

Hrunndalf does not like the thought of staying behind while the negotiators enter the building on their own, but he does not have the appropriate clothing at hand, and certainly doesn't have time for a shopping trip. In any case, if combat should ensue, he is more useful in arms and armor. "Melinda, can you keep us informed with Message?"

He also attempt to activate his Longstrider wand in order to be mobile in an emergency.

Male Halfling Cavalier 10

Kalimac appears for the meeting in a set of clothes no one has seen him in before. It is an outfit fit for being seen at court, with a discreet and tasteful set of jewelry that makes a pleasant counterpoint to the cut of the robes.

The alert may recognize the jewelry as coming from the treasure from the Brinestump Marsh adventures.

Myriana:
Is Myriana staying back with the wolves, or going in with the negotiators?

"I would be perfectly happy to wait with Silmemir and Attatoq, unless you would rather I hang on the arm...or, er shoulder, of our gallant Sir Knight." She smiles teasingly at Kalimac. Her smile quickly drops, though as the immediacy of their situation comes back to the fore in her mind.

Male Halfling Cavalier 10

Kyrademon:
Does Kalimac think, given what he knows, that he'd get away with having his Ring of the Ram on him? If so he'll take it. Otherwise he'll leave it in one of Attatoq's saddlebags.

Kalimac:
You could probably get away with it. There is a slight risk, however.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alaric:
She starts to purr as he leans in, only for the sound turn to a groan as he pulls away. "I want...." Her face and body turn a shade that almost match her eyes, she knows what she wants and it is clear in her mind. Actually saying what she wants... she squirms.

Male Halfling Cavalier 10

Kyrademon:
He'll risk it, then. He's got enough other rings that go with the courtier's get-up that he should be able to conceal the magic ring among them. At least, he hopes.

Male Human (Ulfen) Oracle of Battle 10

Since I'm officially coming as a man-at-arms, I bring my javelins with me too.

Male Human Cleric 10

Mel:
He is mere inches from her flesh, heat coming off him in waves. As he speaks, his breath tickles her lips, but should she lean in, he moves slightly out of reach. "Want what, love?"

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alaric:
She does lean up, frustration flashing in her eyes when he moves just out of reach. "I want... you." True. And the smallest glimmer of hope that he might let her get away with such a general answer.

Are you officially coming as a man-at-arms? granted you easily look the part, but given your diplomacy score...maybe Hrunndald should be on the inside. ...or, since this is on the in-character board

Myri frowns slightly as she sees Hrunndalf heft the javelins into place, "Um, Hrunndalf, you do plan on being in the meeting don't you?"

Male Human Cleric 10

Mel:
For a single, blessed moment, it appears to be so. Skin brushes skin, mouth falls to neck. But no. Before she can draw him in, he pulls away again, leaving her with nothing but the ghost impression of his body on hers. His gaze, boring into her. Needing her, but implacable. Forceful. Undeniable. "Want me to what?"

Hrunndalf turns to Myriana. "Actually, no, I figured I would do more harm than good if I showed up... ungarnished. On the other hand, maybe I could help avoid frictions with the local mores. That said, are you sure you want off the premises alone with the wolves? Isolation is dangerous."

To Kalimac: "You should decide, as the parole leader. Do you want me along to talk, or outside to guard?"

Incidentally, how long would it take to buy an appropriate set of clothes and jewels? The meeting is at a fixed time, so it's not like we could hasten it by skipping that.

Myri looks back at Hrunndalf, the hint of a smile playing around her lips, "Alone, yes...with two wolves."

Mel nods, "If you can, it would be very good. If you can't... magic is good for cheating. My spell can make me sound more Ulfen than you are."

She shrugs, "It comes down to where you think you can do the most good for our friends. But, please, make up your mind... I refuse to be late."

Myri grins, "Don't worry so much, I'm used to being alone in the wild. We'll be all right." She ruffles Silmemir's fur.

Right now I am considering:

Melinda, Alaric, Kalimac, Xanderghul in Guild Group

Rhost, Helgarval in Guard Group

Myriana, Silmemir, Attatoq in Wolf Group

Hrunndalf, Liothonae unannounced.

Those in the final catergory, please announce your group before clicking on any spoilers.

Hrunndalf gives it a moment's thought, then nods. "We have to trust they won't attack us amongst their clients in the guildhall. I'll join the diplomats."

In as short a time as is practical, Hrunndalf procures a solid, understated but well-made set of doublet and breeches in a subtle shade of ocean blue-green that goes well with his eyes, and gold jewelry to provide contrasting highlights.

Price was 80 gp in total, right? I'll round it to 100; might at well splurge. Maybe if I wear enough gold it will act like armor. ;)

Liothonae:
That afternoon, before setting out for the Guild Hall, in your room at the Inn you find the mirror you had been admiring earlier.

A note next to it reads, "We thought you might like this -- Shae & Myri"

Guild Group:
You enter the front office. A long counter runs across the front of this room, with brass bars extending from the counter to the ceiling. Only small “teller windows” allow the transfer of items. However, when your appointment is found, you are let through a locked gate by one of the clerks.

You are led across a raised area surrounded by a wooden railing, where factors work at desks, through a door into a hallway. A door off the hallway lets you into a meeting room containing a long table surrounded by chairs.

Soon, a man walks in who introduces himself as the guildmember Pyet Drunnarsson. He sits.

Guard Group:
At least to start with, the night is quiet.

Wolf Group:
At least to begin with, the night is quiet.
