I did not, Jawhar! GM, an extra +1 to the damage Craggark just did, please. Thanks!
”Whoa!” Craggark exclaims as his height swells. ”Lia! I’m huge! This is amazing!” Though they had talked about it previously, the reality of becoming larger hadn’t struck Craggark until now.

Jawhar tries to chip away at the statue but, finds the stone only dents his blade. Torvald's bomb has more success as the concussion knocks off a sizable chip of the animated thing.

Jamir looks at the casters with a critical eye. "Lia, Jawhar, do you want to go on? Or should we rest for the night?" He kicks at the rubble of the finally unmoving statues. "Ordinarily, I would be more uncomfortable about not knowing what waits behind these doors, but they are so heavy we should have plenty of warning if anything attempts to open them while we sleep. There are not so many rooms here that are small enough for one person on watch to guard all the entrances and exits at once, but large enough for us all to rest comfortably."

![]() |

Jawhar eyes the doors critically.
"The room where we encountered the big cat thing seemed more defensible. Perhaps if we clear out the remains, the smell will improve.
We have my campfire bead, so at least we won't need to worry about heat or light."

”I’ll follow Lia and Torvald’s lead,” the half-orc grunts, still rubbing his bloodied fists after the combat.
”Much obliged, Jawhar,” Craggark nods to the cleric.

Jawhar eyes the doors critically.
"The room where we encountered the big cat thing seemed more defensible. Perhaps if we clear out the remains, the smell will improve. We have my campfire bead, so at least we won't need to worry about heat or light."
Jamir readily agrees with the cleric's more sensible suggestion. "Ah, that's right, my friend. If you mean the room with the empty sarcophagus, Myth confirmed there were no hidden doors. We could secure that room."
"We should check on the boys watching our camels, at least, to let them know we're alive and that they shouldn't depart without us."
Jamir turns to Torvald in surprise and some embarrassment.
"Of course, my friend! I had forgotten your instruction to them, that they should return home with the camels if we do not return within a day and a night! That would have been awkward, to emerge triumphant from this oversized grave, covered in the glory of exploration and laden with the riches of the ages, only to have to walk back to town through the desert!"

![]() |

"Well I am glad that is over and everyone is still in one piece." Lia says with relief.
She nods along with Torvald's suggestion to rest, "I agree with Torvald! We really should rest and recover our resources. I know there are more trials ahead and I have nearly exhausted my spells, and if we continued now I would need to rely on only my simple cantrips. In fact, I think with a rest I could prepare a slightly different spell assortment that might be more useful based on what we have encountered so far."
Lia nods in emphatic agreement with the suggestions to move rooms and to check the boys watching the camels.
"You are all such clever men. I am really very lucky to have found you all."
Once the group finally comes to a safe place to rest and they finish setting up their precautions, Lia takes out her spellbook and looks for the spells she plans to prepare after her rest. She places a few thin strips of cloth on the selected pages so she can quickly prepare her spells upon waking.
Then, with very little prompting, the littlest Snowcaster closes her eyes, leans back into Craggark's waiting embrace and quickly falls asleep.
Replacing Color Spray for a second Recharge Innate Magic which she can use to get another Produce Flame. The group retreats out of the Pyramid the way they came and briefly checks on the boys guarding the camels. Satisfied that they're in no danger from bandits or desert predators, the group returns to the Pyramid complex and spends the night in the trophy room, after having dragged out the ancient corpses of the large hunting cat and it's once human master. The night is eerie and a bit restless as several of you dream of the close calls, you had earlier. However, your group does managed to get sufficient enough rest to recover your spells and even let a few of your wounds scab over.
You may all rest one night and gain the benefits of a night's rest. Don't worry about rations or water...will assume you garbed some of both when you visited the boys tending the camels. Your turn guys where to next?

When they go back to the boys and the camels, Jamir grabs a couple of new sunrods and a bag of marbles, as well as replenishing his rations, etc. At Craggark's questioning look at the bag, he says, "Perhaps whoever we meet next will prefer to game instead of fight."

"Shall we take up where we left off? Or take one of the paths not chosen?"

Jamir wakes up early and rushes through his regular calisthenics routine, eager to continue their investigation.
"We have come back all this way. Perhaps we should return to the chamber of the mimic (slide 6) to see what lies down the unexplored passage to the west, or the hidden doorway on the south wall."

![]() |

"Yes, I think that is a goid idea, Jamir. Let's clear the rest of the unknown portions before exploring what appears to be the main chamber.
I'd prefer starting with the other hidden door. I don't think there will be anything but more traps past the mimic."

![]() |

”A Gold idea?” Craggark says with a smirk. ”That’d be the only gold we’ve discovered so far in this death-trap.”
I realise that your auto-correct likely prevented you from typing the word ‘good’, Jawhar, but it was too gold to let go!

lucklesshero |

You make sure the boys are safe and spend an uneventful night under the Pyramid. In the morning you make your way back to the mimic chamber. Do you head west to the un-explored chamber? Or do you open the concealed door to the south and explore what's beyond that door?

![]() |

Myth shrugs. "There have been traps everywhere we've turned, so it matters not which direction to me...if we're going to be thorough, we'll be exploring both remaining areas anyway, yes?"

After checking the southern door for traps you decide to open it. There's a 10' wide passage that continues south beyond the sight of darkvision. Myth with his low-light vision, determines the passage turns west about 70' down. Your group traverses the passage slowly checking for traps or hidden doors the whole way and finding nothing. You reach the western corner and your light illuminates a fascinating room.
Two woven reed boats sit end-to-end in this chamber, covered in a thick layer of dust. Carvings on the walls depict naval expeditions
and boats bearing tribute for the pharaoh.

"This is very strange indeed, my friends! Unless..." Jamir peers at the boats from the chambers entrance. "Could they be the stupidest mimics in Osirion?"
Jamir cautiously approaches the nearest boat, rapier drawn and ready, alert for traps and hazards.

"I'm convinced it's an illusion." Craggark quips. "Whoever heard of boats in a desert? This tomb makes no sense."
The half-orc draws his alchemist's fire, prepared to light up the obviously-flammable woven boats in a heartbeat if Jamir's crack about mimics is to be believed.

![]() |

"I'd imagine the imagery is part of their religion's view of the afterlife.
Chariots are also of little use in a desert. Sand does not make a good platform for rolling.
Regardless, let's get moving. Mimics or not, standing here isn't going to tell us if there are any relics hidden in the boats."
