Greetings! I'm very pumped for this AP. Also hats off to you GM Wasted, your brave decision has given this table life and I have a feeling we're going to make it an epic, rowdy time.

![]() |

Very likely, it'll be interesting to hear about your experience running parallel Adventures. Rational would say the prep should be less!

![]() |

Welcome all and thank you GM Wasted for the brave choice to run two tables!
As for running both, yes I'm guessing prep time for the core adventure will be less, but keeping track of who did what in each world with which NPC may be really hard.
Oh and GM what stats do you want listed below our name?
Every GM seems to like different stuff.

Thank you for the invite GM Wasted, I am very excited to start a new campaign and see how my Paladin fares. Cheers.

Lackspell |

OK - possibly a dumb question here ... I've got my race and class showing under my name but how do I get AC etc to show? I don't see fields for those in the profile...
EDIT: OK I've displayed it by entering those details in on the Class line - is this the right way to do it?

![]() |

Yup! You can spoiler data up there that you want on hand for yourself too.

Party role wise, Chrona has two good face skills and in battle she is looking to do damage. To complement her Ifrit Infernal bloodline, she'll be following a fire/light/energy theme to her spells. I'd expect her to charge in on the second round of battle once she's fired a spell off and the tanks have taken some agro.

Lackspell |

Lackspell is the opposite of good at face skills :)
He does bring a couple of decent knowledge skills. His contribution to battle will mostly be ranged damage. Once there is time and finance available he will be supporting the party further via the creation of potions and alchemical goodies.
On the subject of combat, in the early stages we appear to only have one tank (I imagine the druid could get more tanky later), unless Gareth Gudrun turns out to be a Fighter - it sounds like a Fighter sort of name :)

![]() |

Praetor Ryswell seems a bit tanky. AC 19 and I'm guessing heals/buffs?

![]() |

Praetor will truly blossom into a tank at 2nd level when he receives the class skills Lay on Hands and Divine Grace. Until then, I will do my best to tank with my high AC and decent saves, but my primary role will always be melee combatant.
I will not receive even basic spells for a few levels, and am considering a different non-spell path that would instead grant other improvements to my existing class features. I'll have a better idea of that decision once (and if) we get closer to the appropriate level.
Praetor has a good Charisma score (17), but only has two skill points/level. My focus will be on Diplomacy every level, and the other point will be spread around between Heal, Handle Animal, and Sense Motive (class skills).
Now for a question. Does anyone know what modifiers are added to javelin throw attack rolls? Base attack bonus, (Dex or Str)?

Lackspell |

Yeah he looks like a pretty respectable tank. Our healing situation is interesting ... Three characters in the group that can heal but none that really do it as a primary profession. Gives us some versatility I suppose and we don't run the risk of losing all our healing if one character goes down.

![]() |

If Ren is ever acting as the party face you are all in trouble ;)
In social situations she'll most likely be the quite girl in the back who is always listening, but only whispers to one of you or flashes you the high sign when something is off.
As a matter of fact, depending on how the roleplay goes, I could see her taking the role of the party's servant. Many people ignore servants, and ignored is exactly what she would want to be.
She would make one fine scout though in non-social settings.
As for role in combat, I could tank for the first couple levels if needed, but I'll be much more effective as a damage dealer flanking with someone or a skirmisher going after soft targets.

![]() |

With how long we sometimes have in between posts, I like having some good reading material. No complaints here - keep it up Ren.

![]() |

Minneapolis here! Welcome to the new member as well!

![]() |

Minnesota checking in.
@GM Wasted - What's your thoughts on the "favored class" bonus? I just learned about it, and am wondering if I have your approval to apply it retroactively?
Slowly picking up on all the rules. Every edition has its differences.

Varak Suur |

Happy to have slipped in here last second :3 can't wait to get started with such an interesting bunch of characters!

![]() |

Welcome to the group Varak, glad to have you join us!

![]() |

Combat! Just so I don't miss anything, are we playing with maps or mapless?

![]() |

Question for GM Wasted-
Praetor and the Dawnguard operate by a strict code. Part of that code demands that no mercy be shown to evildoers. As an example, would it be evil of Praetor to let the goblin prisoner be hanged after getting information from him? Praetor would have slain him in battle without remorse, and may have an issue with setting an evil goblin free.
Not sure how you would lean on those issues.

![]() |

I have no problem with people posting their actions out of order (otherwise combat will take forever as we wait for each person to post) but I would like to request that we resolve turns in combat more closely with their place in the initiative order. There have been a few instances where we have been resolving people's turns as they are posted, which causes problems for the people who are not able to check/post as regularly as others.
This has not affected me at all because I'm always last in the initiative order, but I noticed that some people have been passed over, which sort of defeats the purpose of initiative.
This campaign has been fantastic so far, I love how fast we have been moving and the group has been very fun. If others disagree with my sentiment then please disregard. Just giving my two cents. Cheers.

![]() |

I'm in general agreement with Praetor, a large amount of 'who is where, who is still alive, etc' confusion is taken care of by the initiative, letting people make the best decisions with their move. It's always awesome to be at the top of the order and get to dictate the direction the whole battle will go! So at the least I'd vote for letting those one or two players do that first before there's a barrage of mayhem.
This is by far my fastest moving game though and I'm really enjoying the personalities and action! In my eyes it's fair to compromise some game elements for the fast pulse, while still keeping the reward for those who crit their initiatives.

I am thrilled with the pace, and I'm sure there's a happy medium we will fall into.
Question for the GM - I know it's a bit late for this, but I'm wondering if I can change my character's fear (from the 10 minute background) to fire instead of darkness. Praetor was burned in the church fire, and I think that would be a more natural fear in relation to his background.

![]() |

As one of the slow posters: (My RL is crazy so my windows for posting are small). I have to say I'm good with the way initiative/Combat is going. I have seen combat in PBP grind to a halt when all of a sudden you are waiting 10 hours for someone to post then 12 hours for a second person and so on.
Yes you lose some of the tactical portion of the game, but we are already map-less and the chaotic posting/turn order seems to fit.
Now GM Wasted if you wanted to drop a map down and do some tactical combat for given set piece encounters (or all encounters) I'm in no way saying I'm opposed. Just realize it could really slow down the game. That encounter with 7 goblins and a couple mount where we met Lord Foxglove, ya I could see that stretching over several days rather then being done in one.
Finally GM Wasted I really want to say I'm enjoying the heck out of your storytelling so far as well as all the characters.
I know it's early but Thank you all for the entertaining reading every day.

Sure, that's no problem!
And thanks, Ren! I'm glad everyone seems to be having a good time so far. In a bit, we'll come to more of a natural break so we can do an after action report and see what everyone would like to do more of or less of. The world will open up a bit soon, so you'll have much more of an opportunity to do various other things in Sandpoint. I've written a bit extra for the campaign :)

Chrona laughs deeply with joyful menace. Lackspell uncomfortable with magic, Praetor fearful of fire; 'Oh what fun for a girl to have!'

![]() |

Just realized Chrona didn't have a fear listed, so added an obvious one that doesn't effect anything that has happened.
Fearful of servitude and being enslaved. After spending her life in captivity Chrona seeks for open air and freedom, often recklessly. This is compounded by the albatross of Ralxik owning her soul. She avoids the notion that she is still enslaved, now to the demon, but it always lurks in the back of her mind.

Varak Suur |

I didn't list a fear either. Hmm I can't think of any fears outside of losing any more friends or family that fits with his backstory. But besides that lets add a fear of heights. Swimming lizard didn't climb all that much lol

![]() |

What is Chrona? As in what part of the character is infernal bloodline? Where did all the powers come from?

![]() |

So technically speaking the bloodline comes from the Eldritch Scion archtype that melds the Magnus with the Scorcerer class in place of the Wizard characteristics.
Story wise,
Her powers mostly come from her magnus-sorceress nature. There isn't really a background reason for it, she is just adept and an old a-hole wizard helped her learn to control it.
The Infernal blood is from her father's side. He was a fire elemental with Infernal blood. I'm not a Pathfinder Planes expert so that's as deep as I get with it, though over time as I learn more I'll add more detail.
If the question is why I chose the Infernal Bloodline over the more logical Elemental(fire) bloodline, it's because I'm new to PFS and only recently discovered the elemental bloodline. But yes it would be much more logical. :)

![]() |

Hey your story seems fine.. I was just wondering about the powers as they seemed to be something I'd not seen.
Isn't the class name "Magus"
I've seen Ifrit water kineticists.. so your fine with infernal.

Varak Suur |

Well I think infernal still works great for an ifrit. A lot of devils are immune to fire and some even control fire so it's not out of the ordinary to imagine and ifrit being born with infernal and elemental blood mixing. There's a layer of hell with lots of salamanders on it, so that could totally be the case, if not one of many other things xD I like the idea.

![]() |

Yeah it is Magus, this is my first one and I'm pretty excited! I'm not sure how she'll end up playing compared to the "average Magus" though because the Eldritch Scion type changes the spell dynamics a lot.

![]() |

I evaluated the Eldritch Scion to be more tuble than it's worth.. but you are playing the character with a certain pazzaz so that'll make up for it I assume.

Haha yeah, my research came to a similar conclusion but it's too good of a match for her character idea. All about the fun in my eyes, also she has some nice +40pt buy friends to back her up ;)
