I like that idea! Though I think Miron is more focused on directly diverting them away from unarmed people, and armed people towards them.

If the goblins are flat footed is a GM question. They may not be considered flat footed since they are basically ambushing the festival.

However, I can confirm that you can use sneak attack on a ranged attack if (A) the opponent is flat footed or denied dex bonus with regards to you and (B) you are within 30 ft of the target.

That 'in regards to you' is important, as you can sneak attack even if they are in combat already if they are unaware of you, like sniping from a hidden cubby if they don't know you are there. The important part is that they are flat footed or denied dex bonus against your attacks.

It depends I'll be rolling initiative shortly once everyone's actions are in, I tried to do it earlier but the site is being awkward. If you beat them in intiative they'll be flat footed for you. They're (probably) not going to stand their naval gazing while people fill them with arrows and cast spells.

I like the idea that we've kept in touch. I doubt I'd have put much in a letter, save mention of some bad dreams. Odd as it is, Anneka still harbors some embarrassment over her disability, and otherwise doesn't say much about her emergent magic, though it is part of the reason she attends chapel regularly.

That all sounds very plausible! So these display of magic are coming as a surprise to Miron. Have you given much thought about when Anneka realised that she could use magic or what she sees it as?

I didn't realise that priest was a possible profession, it not being listed in the skill description.

@Kevin, would there be much expectation that an Inquisitor have ranks in that skill, or is this use of it an anomaly? I'd be happy to take it if it's a skill with an actual purpose.

Priest could be almost anything. I wouldn't expect a cleric to have it. Might be handy at certain points... but there is a reason that profession is a background skill.

Oh knowledge Religion is good for a lot of things but doesn't cover the mundane aspects of being a priest. Where to buy the various trappings that may be expected like lace coverings on the altar that kind of thing.

Certainly a handy feature for character ideas! I just didn't expect a non-mentioned profession to crop up for rolls. Miron has a rank in profession (merchant) to represent his family trade and the favour to trade shown by the Church of Abadar. That may rise over the campaign depending on circumstances.

That said I know something wicked is playing an NPC from Sandpoint but I don't recognize them properly, is it one of the ones that is more significant in the Jade Regent adventure path?

I don't think we finalised what inn/tavern Miron campaign trait applies to. I put down the Hagfish when I thought that might be necessary for character meetups, but in retrospect it probably isn't the best fit given his character. Would it okay to change it to the Rusty Dragon?

Given you're Varisian, you could also make it Risa's Place. Risa's is off the beaten path, and less likely to have strangers in it. The Rusty Dragon is great for meeting strangers, but sucks at having 'private' get togethers.

BTW: Drazh? Where does Drazh do smithy work? There's only one Smithy in Sandpoint (The Red Dog Smithy) and the owner isn't exactly nice or friendly, so not sure he'd let Drazh use the smithy (unless Drazh paid for the privelege).

I can see her doing it for coin to start, and later just for a bear claw or two.

You'd know then that Ferocia's much more calm, and happy outside of the town than she ever is in it. The longer she's in town the grumpier she gets.

Azalia loves croissants, so yes, they probably know each other. If there is a merchant's guild here, they may know each other from there as well.

She hangs out at Risa's place during off hours (they are friends), but normally keeps a low profile, trying not to draw undue attention.

Sandpoint Mercantile League.

Milgren's family, the Loztres Family, was one of the Varisian families the Scarnetti's attacked (Milgren's parents were among the five killed). Thus Milgren has a rather low opinion of the Scarnetti's. The Loztres are founding members of the League, as part of the price the Four Families paid for the Scarnetti's unprovoked attack. Needless to say, the Scarnetti's do not really like any of the Varisian's in Sandpoint.

Likely the Varisian's in Sandpoint dislike the Scarnetti's as well. :) Milgen's family certainly does.

EDIT : Yes, I did read through all the Sandpoint info I could find when making Milgren's background.

@Miron it can be for any of them but Ameiko who runs the Rusty Dragon has more of a part to play than any of the others in this adventure path so it might be more fun. It's the one it's supposed to be in the guide I think.
