Male Dwarf Fighter - 1

Ouch. LOL. I meant Oded to be 'fighting defensively' or whatever for the +2 AC. I'll spell it out next time instead of trying to RP my actions.

Male Human Paladin/1

Darius moves up quickly to engage the goblins that are moving on the dwarf.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 201d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

If I am misjudging the distance, Darius will just move towards the goblins.

Oded: One of the goblins is rushing by you, which gives you a free attack on it, (you can do one per round atm), Attack of Opportunity (AoO). Sorry if I wasn't clear on that. :)

Darius: You'll have to charge to do it. This will negate the +2 AC bonus from the protection spell Berenwyr gave you until your next turn if you do, though. So, do you charge?

Male Dwarf Fighter - 1

Oded misses the strike by the goblin, and the blade cuts pretty deep. He grimaces, and sees another one sneaking by to get to Berenwyr. The axe comes up, and strikes out at the goblin trying to get by.

Rolls:

Attack=1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Damage=1d12 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

:Oded: The goblin still rolled high enough to get you, even with a +2 defensive bonus.

"And so, during the 5th Battle of Sandpoint, Oded Firehand knocked the goblin's head clean off with his Axe. It sailed 325 ft through the air and went over a fence. And in this way, the odds turned to party's favor and the game of baseball was invented at the same moment." Sandpoint, a History. by B.S. Yearyght.

But yes, the goblin's dead. :)

yes

Lantern Lodge

Round 1

Gellius tosses his last magical stone at one of the goblins. It sails wide as again the druid is not use to such small targets.

Note: At any you wish that is not in combat please. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12; 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Goblin #2 is cut-off in mid-chorus as it's cut down by the Paladin.

3 more goblins move up to engage the party, a bit more cautiously than their compatriots.

They were on the other side of the bonfire, so they will take a bit longer to get in range. They end up about 25' away from Oded.

For The Record

Round 2 of the combat has:

Berenwyr at 22

Goblin Singer at 21

Oded at 20

Caladrian at 18

Weylyn at 13 (higer dex)

Goblin Group #1 at 13

Darius at 12

Gellius at 8

Goblin Group #2 at 6

One goblin is engaging Oded. 3 more are about 25' away from Oded's position, and the singer has a bow out.

Berenwyr is now up.

Elf Wizard (Conjuration) 4/ Hp: 32/32 Init: +5; Perception +11(+13); AC 13(17)/13/10(14); F+2, R+4, W+5; CMD: 16

Berenwyr steels himself and moves wide around Oded and the remaining goblin of the first group, then towards the newer goblin arrivals. As Singe wheels up out of bow shot to survey the scene below the mage stops short of the second group of goblins, out of range of their wicked knives, but close enough to draw a handful of multi-colored sand from his spell pouch and engulf all of them in a dazzling wave of color and light.

Color Spray:

School illusion (pattern) [mind-affecting]; Level sorcerer/wizard 1
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M (red, yellow, and blue powder or colored sand)
Range 15 ft.
Area cone-shaped burst
Duration instantaneous; see text
Saving Throw Will negates; Spell Resistance yes
A vivid cone of clashing colors springs forth from your hand, causing creatures to become stunned, perhaps also blinded, and possibly knocking them unconscious. Each creature within the cone is affected according to its HD.
2 HD or less: The creature is unconscious, blinded, and stunned for 2d4 rounds, then blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds, and then stunned for 1 round. (Only living creatures are knocked unconscious.)
3 or 4 HD: The creature is blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds, then stunned for 1 round.
5 or more HD: The creature is stunned for 1 round.
Sightless creatures are not affected by color spray.

Berenwyr silently curses his own bravado and thinks to himself, Well, now I'll get to find out what a pincushion feels like.

Each goblin in the area of effect needs to make a DC 14 Will save. Those that fail are unconscious, blinded and stunned for 2d4 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7 rounds, then blinded and stunned for 1d4 ⇒ 3 rounds then stunned for 1 round, assuming that these goblins are 2HD or less creatures.

Male Dwarf Fighter - 1

Oded watches as the goblin's head arcs its way over a building to his left. The victory is short lived, as Berenwyr walks towards the second group of goblins now approaching him, and calmly withdraws a handful of something. He tosses what is now colorful sand, and Oded turns away to face the goblin facing him, aware of bright lights on the periphery of his vision.

Blood still dripping from the axe, he attacks the goblin currently assailing him.

Rolls:

Attack=1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage=1d12 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Steerike one!

Damn...nice job...

We shall see...

Will saves:

Goblin #4:

1d20 ⇒ 17

Goblin #5:

1d20 ⇒ 11

Goblin #6

1d20 ⇒ 4

Two of the goblins collapse unconscious. The other goblin shakes it's head and focuses on the wizard.

This puts Berenwyr in range of:

The Singer notches an arrow and lets fly at the mage.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 121d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

The Arrow streaks by close enough that 3 pale hairs fall to the ground

Lucky...

Oded is up.

Male Dwarf Fighter - 1

See above for my ineffective attempt. I believe Caladrian is up.

So he is, Caladrian is up.

Male Human Cleric of Irori 1

Still keeping his distance behind Oded for as much is protection as the dwarfs, Caladrian hurls the last of his magic stones at the goblin currently engaged with the dwarven warrior.

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

@Caladrian: don't forget to add the -4 firing into melee next time.

Weylyn is now up.

Male Human Rogue 1

Weylyn steps up to Berenwyr's defense; he slashes at the attacking goblin with both daggers.

Move up to the encroaching goblin and Two-Weapon Attack

1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1 for 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 If flank or sneak, add 1d8 ⇒ 5

1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6 for 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 If flank or sneak, add 1d8 ⇒ 6

Pray my social skills are better...I suck in combat apparently!

The remaining goblin of the first group Takes a swipe at Oded.

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 71d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Wiff

Darius is up.

Male Human Paladin/1

Darius swings at the last goblin attacking Oded.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 221d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Round 2

Seeing a group of goblins about to surround Oded Gellius grips his staff in both hands and moves to watch the dwarf's back.

"Faux! Come on we have to help out!" he says as he runs.

Stepping up behind and to the right of Oded, Gellius holds his quarterstaff at the ready. Faux growls from behind and off to the left of the dwarf.

Actions: Move and ready action(attack a goblin if it comes into range)

Elf Wizard (Conjuration) 4/ Hp: 32/32 Init: +5; Perception +11(+13); AC 13(17)/13/10(14); F+2, R+4, W+5; CMD: 16

Uhhh, there's a third group of goblins?

The Goblin engaging Oded literally folds over on itself as Darius's sword cuts into it.

@Berenwyr: Not that you can see. There a typo somewhere?

The sole conscious goblin from the 2nd group moves up to take a stab at the wizard.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 201d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Berenwyr staggers back as the knife cuts into his leg

Elf Wizard (Conjuration) 4/ Hp: 32/32 Init: +5; Perception +11(+13); AC 13(17)/13/10(14); F+2, R+4, W+5; CMD: 16

Just didn't understand what Gellius was doing. Thanks

A sharp intake of breath and a hobbling step to regain his balance are the only signs the elf shows of his pain at the jagged wound. His familiar, on the other hand begins cawing loudly, and is obviously distressed.

Berenwyr shifts a step to set up a flank with Weylyn and assumes a fully defensive stance once again.

A little help here friends? And if it's not too much trouble, could someone attend to that archer? I believe the little bastard means to feather me!

+4 AC for total defense, -4 against ranged attacks while I'm in combat with the remaining goblin, Darius has 3 rounds of Protection from Evil Left, and the two Color Sprayed goblins are Unconscious, Blinded and Stunned for 6 more rounds

For The Record

Round 3 of the combat has:

Berenwyr at 22

Goblin Singer at 21

Oded at 20

Caladrian at 18

Weylyn at 13

Darius at 12

Gellius at 8

Goblin Group #2 at 6. #4 is conscious, the other two are still in la-la land

Goblin #4 is engaging Berenwyr. The Singer is about 40' away, looking for potential pin-cushions.

So, unless anyone has anything they want to do in Round 2, we begin Round 3 with Berenwyr.

At least let me declare round first. :)

Gellius was holding action until a goblin came within range and would attack it. Unfortunately, Berenwyr moved away from the fighter to get his spell off which exposed him to attack. The Goblin that attacked him wasn't close enough to be attacked by either Gellius or Faux.

The singer lets another arrow fly at the wizard.

1d20 ⇒ 161d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

4 more pale hairs drop to the ground.

Wow the singer could probably make a living as fancy hair stylist. :)

Oded is up.

Male Dwarf Fighter - 1

Berenwyr's words finally get through. Get the singer. Gotta get the singer. If I take a run at him, I should be able to barely get to him...

Oded charges at the goblin singer, barely arriving in time to strike.

rolls:

Attack=1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Damage=1d12 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Oded is -2 AC until next turn.

Dayum.

The Singer's eyes go wide as the bloody axe splits the few hairs on it's head, not to mention the head itself. The goblin collapses in a gory mess. A large (for a goblin) pouch fall of it's back.

Caladrian is now up.

Male Human Cleric of Irori 1

With most of this goblin group well under control, the priest takes a few seconds to look around the area, taking in the havoc being done by these goblins, which seemed to happen so suddenly.

Total defense for this round only, but will take a quick look around at the scene.

Caladrian: Just so you know, Berenwyr just lost 1/2 his Hit points last round. You sure you want to leave it at that?

Elf Wizard (Conjuration) 4/ Hp: 32/32 Init: +5; Perception +11(+13); AC 13(17)/13/10(14); F+2, R+4, W+5; CMD: 16

Oded is banged up a bit too. I'd rather wait until we're out of combat so Caladrian can channel heal all of us instead of burning a CLW on me, although, if he had the selective channeling feat...

Alright.

Weylyn is up.

Male Human Rogue 1

Seeing Berenwyr flank his opponent, Weylyn smiles and brings both daggers down on the outnumbered goblin.

Two-weapon Fighting Flank Attack 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19 for 1d4 + 1 + 1d8 ⇒ (4) + 1 + (6) = 11

Two-weapon Fighting Flank Attack 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 for 1d4 + 1 + 1d8 ⇒ (3) + 1 + (2) = 6
___

Confirm Crit 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8

Figures...11 damage isn't bad though.

The last, conscious, goblin dies with an "Aiee!!!" on it's lips.

You are out of Combat.

Pandemonium reins all about you. The townsfolk run about screaming, a goblin tries to jump of a roof at fleeing child only to miss and break it's neck with an audible snap. Another goblin tries to throw a torch at a woman trying to protect her child, only to miss and hit another goblin right on the head. This goblin starts running in circles trying to put the flames out.

What do you all do?

Male Human Paladin/1

Not sure how you are handling our moves? Initiative order or just asking what we would be doing. Just in case:

Darius moves to secure the unconscious goblins.

You all aren't in combat, atm, so the order doesn't matter until you get back in to combat.

Lantern Lodge

Gellius moves to put out any fires started by the goblins. He keeps Faux close on guard duty to watch his back.

Will use dirt and create water cantrip to stop what fires I can.

Male Dwarf Fighter - 1

Oded reaches down and wipes his axe on the dead goblin's clothing. The blade is getting nicked something wicked. Ah well, rather than a clean death, the little creatures will suffer.

Oded looks around spying the goblins running about causing havoc. They seem to be uncoordinated now. Berenwyr, you have a better idea than I do. Are these devils doing anything coordinated we can try and end? As he says this, the wound in his arm throbs. Oooh, and I dont seem to be the only one injured. Another one of your pleasant zaps might do me and the wizard good, Caladrian.

Oded sees the pouch that fell from the goblin singer's body. He picks it up and inspects its contents. While at it, he searches the goblin for anything else useful.

Do I need to roll anything here? Sorry, no experience following a battle. TBH, these were the first two I've been in, lol.

No, no need to roll to open a sack. :)

Oded: The pouch contains assorted coinage which looks to be around 20 GP and a bottle filled with amber liquid.

Elf Wizard (Conjuration) 4/ Hp: 32/32 Init: +5; Perception +11(+13); AC 13(17)/13/10(14); F+2, R+4, W+5; CMD: 16

Berenwyr slumps against his quarterstaff, visibly favoring his injured leg and fixing Weylyn with a look of relieved thanks. He nods once to Darius.

Excellent, I was just about to suggest that myself. Tie them up, and perhaps we can convince them to lead us to their nest in exchange for their miserable lives. Be quick about it though, they'll only be unconscious for another half a minute or so.

He makes his way toward Caladrian, while calling out to Oded, Thank you my friend. Would you mind gathering up the sack the singer dropped and perhaps the bow? Then join us, and perhaps we can impose on this good servant of Irori to implore his goddess to heal our wounds.

Singe returns to Berenwyr's shoulder and caws loudly.

Coes brifo, goes brifo! cRrrawwk! Gwaedu Beren! Coes brifo! Coblynnod Mwy! Tân, mwg a drewdod!

Elven:
Leg hurts, leg hurts! cRrrawwk! Beren bleeds! Leg hurts! More goblins! Fire, smoke and stink!

Berenwyr then mutters a cantrip, once again invoking his mage sight Cast Detect Magicto scan the surrounding area for any magic auras.

When he is close to Caladrian and Oded he whispers to them,

Spoiler:
My magic is nearly depleted. I have one more trick up my sleeve, and a few more darts, but after that I will not be of much use to the group.

Once Berenwyr is healed he intends to examine the contents of the sack and then ascertain if the rest of the goblins were carrying anything of value, although he doubts this is the case. Is the bow a shortbow that a medium creature could use, or a shortbow sized for a goblin? Oh, and here's a perception roll just for the heck of it.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Male Dwarf Fighter - 1

Oded peers into the pouch, and finds some coinage and a small bottle of something. The elf will know better than me. Oded hangs the axe back into its harness on his back. Leaning down, he does his best to wipe off the blood from his beard and hair, but the realization he is just making himself look worse slowly sets in. Ahh hell, nobody here will care anyway.

Oded picks up the bow and any arrows still remaining, and walks over to the elf. Perhaps you would make more use of these than I. he says with a nod to Beren. There's some coins in here, dont worry, I'll divvy em up best I can. Also, some bottle of somethin. You'd know more than me.

Oded hands the bottle over to Berenwyr, standing now with the cleric and the magic wielding elf.

@Berenwyr: You recognize it right off. It's a potion of Cure Light Wounds.

@Oded: The bow and arrows are for small-sized beings

@Gellius: The Orisons work and begin to get the bonfire under control.

@Darius: Are you tying them up or delivering coup de grace?

Male Human Paladin/1

Darius drags the goblins over towards the others. He stands vigil as his companions discuss their plans/

Off to bed. Will check in and post in the morning. Night all. Having a blast, btw!

Male Dwarf Fighter - 1

Oded looks down at the bow, and looks at Berenwyr. Hah. This may be a bit small. Oh well. If only I knew how to use it.

Also off. And agree, this is going awesome(ly?).

Elf Wizard (Conjuration) 4/ Hp: 32/32 Init: +5; Perception +11(+13); AC 13(17)/13/10(14); F+2, R+4, W+5; CMD: 16

Berenwyr graciously accepts the phial and tucks it into one of the many pockets of his voluminous robes.

I vote for tying the goblins up. Whoever has the highest CMB (I'm guessing that's Oded or Darius as they both have +1 BAB and +2 Str modifiers) should do it, as the Difficulty for an escape artist check from rope is 20 plus the CMB of the rope tier. Alternately, if anyone has any small sized manacles... Does anyone have any rope? We could always just deal unarmed damage to keep them unconscious until we have more time to deal with them. At the very least, we should disarm them. Anyway, bed time for me as well. Awesome fight y'all! Until tomorrow.

Male Human Rogue 1

Weylyn looks over his friends, particularly the injured ones.

You're gonna have to be a whole lot faster Weylyn if you're going to help keep everyone alive...

Next he turns to the unconscious goblins. At least I can interrogate them. Them? Maybe we shouldn't keep both around...

"I know it's a harsh thing to say, but do we need all of them alive? I just think 2 is harder to control than 1."

Lantern Lodge

"Here now," Gellius says stepping up and catching the conversation. "Killing them before they hurt someone is all well and good. But killing them once you have them captured? That we should not do. Me and Faux can guard one ourselves. Maybe we can get some rope or a bit of leather from somewhere to tie them up with."

The slightly soot covered vet looks about for something to use.

Male Human Cleric of Irori 1

"Very well. It would not do to commit any further acts of heroics in a severely wounded state."

Will use the last two 1st level spells on Cure Light Wounds. CLW on Oded...
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
CLW on Berenwyr...
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

"As for these creatures, I would think we should take the captives and store them somewhere safe until we have the time to decide what to do about them. There should be some kind of holding cells which could do the trick."

Male Dwarf Fighter - 1

Oded feels a shiver as the cleric does some of his magic. His wound, however, feels completely healed.

Holding cells... That'd do the job, I suppose. There is a sheriff in town, we ran into him earlier. He'd be the man I go to. Also might allow us to assist in the town's defense. In the mean time, anyone got any rope?

Oded looks around for any rope or anything useful to tie the baddies up.

Perception:
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

He also thought about the attacks themselves. These attacks seem odd. Anyone wonder at the timing? They knew about the festival, and caught us all with our pants down.

"Help!", A voice shouts to north. Those that turn to look see a well-dressed male human cowering next to a rain barrel with a dog in front of him. The dog is fighting with a goblin mounted on what looks like the ugliest canine any of you have ever had the bad luck to see. A group of goblins on foot are cowering behind the mounted goblin, looking at the normal looking dog.

It has only been a few rounds since the last encounter so you all will keep the last initiative (for the purposes of speeding up gameplay)

The dog and mounted goblin is about 60' away and the group of goblin are about 10' away from them.

Dog:

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Mounted goblin:

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Goblin group:

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
