Steve the Cat |

Welcome, welcome! When you get to the gameplay tab, you'll notice that I've thrown you right into the action, in the "Tent City" just outside Bard's Gate. Feel free to explore the Tent City as much as you like while everyone puts any last minute touches on their characters. Remember that nonmagical equipment worth 1 gp or less can usually be found in the caravan, as well as some tents and other things (you can find this information in the Campaign info tab). I'd also like everyone to get their vital statistics (HP, AC [including touch and flat-footed], CMD, Saves, Initiative, Perception; formatted however you like) to display under their name (I believe this is done by putting the information in the Race section of the alias).
P.S. Don't worry about learning the rules to the caravan subsystem yet. I'll probably change them a bit and post my revisions as we get closer to actual travel.

Flying Jack |

Ah. Believe it was originally PF average after level 1 in the recruitment post, but I don't mind being healthier.

Zathyl Sathis |

My first post as this character. Thank you so much for accepting me.
Jack, Scout: Just a heads up, your missing CMD.
And Steve, you might want to PM people that they were accepted... just a suggestion.

Zathyl Sathis |

Simon - instead of having the calculations for AC, HP, etc, just use the final values.
Also I'm not sure if I mentioned this anywhere but hit points will be max, at least for the first two levels.
Sorry, I'll change my hp in a minute, but you did say before that it was max and then average.
Also....
A quick rummage through the caravan uncovered a perfectly cat-sized box in the shape of a coffin which nobody could ever remember seeing before. As the box was hoisted - unusually heavy for it's size - onto the front of the wagon train a small inscription could be seen on the underside: Property of wizards Schrode and Dingar.
I'm afraid of that box... and why are we putting the cat in it? Never open backup... ever!

Sergislav the Strong |

Would you like for me to add the trait bonus for having my 'masterwork item in hand' or just stick with the tattoos and not get the bonus? Sergei does not see why tattoos would be intimidating. :)

Simon Saito |

Couple of new game questions/statements.
I'm on EST. If that doesn't help, it's 8:20pm ish as I post this.
Everyone else?
I also post from my phone, so I'm on here almost all the time, but this also means that bolding speech is usually not worth it, and I can't move myself on a Google docs map.
I'm also comfortable with getting to know you guys. I have near family relationships with some of my games. :)

Simon Saito |

I know, right?
I haven't been to school since Friday, and I'm not going tomorrow, or probably Friday.
It's like a really sucky version of spring break. XD

Zathyl Sathis |

About 4:27 pm Alaska. It's getting kinda warm up here, though that's Alaska standard warmth, so its still cold. My usage is primarily laptop or college desktop.

My character is about 23... So you have a snake father figure...

Zathyl Sathis |

Mine is literally a year younger than yours.
And if you meant me he would had to have started in kindergarten. :P
Sorry, just looking at your previous OOC post. I didn't look at your character when I replied. LOL :D
So... I guess that means I'm your snake step-brother then! :)
Edit: Just thought about something. How much control is adjudicated to me for my familiar and should I create an alias for it?

Simon Saito |

So we both grew up in the cirque. ^_^
Edit: I have an alias called "The Companions" that I use for all of my familiars, animal companions, and pets. Eidolons are a bit more personified, so they get their own pages.

Zathyl Sathis |

So we both grew up in the cirque. ^_^
For a good portion of his life at least. The other portion was spent traveling with his tribe, at the beginning of his life, and by himself, for a lot longer time after that.
Zathyl, you can have as much control over your familiar as you like; if you feel that sending him off separately is going to be a thing then feel free to make an alias.
K Steve.

Scout 42 |

I live in Spokane, so it's PST for me. However, I have a bizarre work schedule subject to being changed with little or no notice. So I usually end up posting just any old time. I am also depending on a smartphone for my primary Internet access. I can also get internet access through the library, but that is a minor pain and I usually only do that when I have a lot of data entry to do.

Zathyl Sathis |

Steve, also for further reference, can you post this in the campaign info? Its the circus lingo from before, just in case you want to use it.

Zathyl Sathis |

I suppose I should find out now: what kind of mapping works for everyone? I was originally planning on Roll20, but if we've got phone users who can't access that I might have to switch to something else.
Edit: Circus lingo now up top, thanks for the suggestion.
I can use D20. Someone on another thread was talking about using Facebook somehow before. What ever works for you guys.

Flying Jack |

California here, but I'm in grad school so I'm awake/waiting on experiments with my laptop at very odd hours of the day.
Also, Sergei: What if it's a really manly tattoo with, like, a dragon fighting three giant eagles?

Steve the Cat |

Would you like for me to add the trait bonus for having my 'masterwork item in hand' or just stick with the tattoos and not get the bonus? Sergei does not see why tattoos would be intimidating. :)
Knew I was forgetting about something. Sergei may not be intimidated, but I'm sure a lot of others would be, so you can take the trait bonus. Even though it becomes constant due to the tattoos always "being in hand" it's still only a +1 which is very in line with other traits.

Sergislav the Strong |

Why would Sergei have tattoo of eagles fight dragon? More likely dragons fighting eagle. Eagle is very majestic creature. Besides, dragon already has multiple heads, easier this way. Just do multiple dragon heads and necks with one eagle. :P

thunderbeard |

At that point, though, it just gets flashy and hard to tell what's going on. That's what shoulders and arms are for—secondary tattoos.
I suggested eagle fighting dragon because apparently it's a real thing?
Also, eagles fighting snakes and tigers fighting dragons, those are manly and traditional too.

Zathyl Sathis |

How about a dragon wrestling a dire tiger, wrestling a hell hound, wrestling a python.
Like a badass turducken. :P
I'd thought I'd never hear someone say that. You just made my day. YOLO I say, go for it!

Yes (I like the reference to the pictures by the way), but this is Pathfinder in the Cirque no less. Odd things are supposed to happen and as Simon says it would indeed make a badass turducken.

Sergislav the Strong |

Calm down, folks. We can do -all- of these. There is much surface area, and much gold spent. (His mother's 'way of life' was actually tattoo artist; it was very important to his people, but it was also something she'd realistically be -expected- to do, not live well off of.)
Most likely, Sergei's people respected endurance-type animals (Oxen, Horses, Bears) significantly more than others. I'm not sure if snakes would even be a thing where he's from... linnorm, though...

You mean to say you don't like snakes.... *sniffle* (T.T)
Ah, I'm just kidding. It's your character, do whatever you think would make him cool/yours. We were just suggesting things anyway.

Simon Saito |

Mine was mostly a joke, so no pushing from me. XD
Linnorm are pretty awesome. We can assume that they would be in the "defeated" portion of a fight, as they aren't exactly good guys...
Simon doesn't have any tattoos.
Maybe Sergei could convince him if you can get him reeeeal drunk. Though, that wouldn't take much. XD
Influence might include things of Freya's domain.
-------
Oh!
Steve:
I looked up Frey(j)a and what she was like. Norse is like the one mythos I haven't studied into yet.
Turns out Freya had a chariot pulled by cats, so there is some strong ground for Simon's Neko 'additions' being a 'gift' from her. :)

Simon Saito |

You mean to say you don't like snakes.... *sniffle* (T.T)

It's ok. Kitty likes snakes. ;)
He's influenced by Evra from Cirque du Freake, right?

Sergislav the Strong |

I plan to be annoying with the tattoos, and have him occassionally point one out and the significance of it to his people. Expect it to not really make any sense. :P
Bacchus also has a cat chariot... just sayin' :P (and he's pretty big on a lot of the themes that would also be gifts to Simon... like irresistable dancing :p)

Simon Saito |

True. I would know a little more about Greek mythology. And by a little, I mean a drastic amount more.
But, Freya also fits his alignment. :)
-------
I was adding class skills to Simon's page, and I noticed that I didn't give him any Spellcraft, which would be rather important for a bard... So, I figured if his HP is gonna suck, it's just gonna suck, so I moved his favored class bonus from HP to skill ranks in spell craft.
I'm hoping to take Craft Wondrous, if we're allowed to, but it's not a big deal if we cant. There are a couple wondrous items that fit Simon to a T, and we've been light on funds thus far to acquire them. :)
I'm assuming that's going to change, but a little spellcraft can't hurt. XD
Especially considering it's required for a couple class features.

Simon Saito |

Thats all we need a bacchanal going on during our performance...hmmm..well..lol
Of course not. Don't be ridiculous.
That's for the afterparty. :P

Scout 42 |

I swear, that's all you meatbags seem to think about. What with all the time you spend sleeping, eating, drinking and either having or thinking about having sex it's a wonder you can get anything done at all. ;-)

Zathyl Sathis |

And I'm a druid, I deal with wood all the time (pun intended). I know I'm neutral good, but I'll have a wood shape spell waiting around level 3 (not to mention I currently have craft (carpentry)). And just because you can't enjoy it Pinocchio, we "meatbags" can and will! :P
LOL, now all joking aside.... What the heck did you mean by 15 min. and an Alter self potion Simon? That sounds highly suspect.... are you suggesting we spike the Golemnoid so he can see from our point of view?

Simon Saito |

Wouldn't do anything against his will. That's something Simon detests, making people do things by force. A little bit of convincing is possible, but like most Enchantment spells "nothing against a creature's nature."
Now, we could offer to show him what the big deal is if he'd like to broaden his horizons. ;)
But not against his will.
Okie in all seriousness:
Just want to state that joking in discussion absolutely doesn't equate to character actions in character.
It's good to have a good time here, but it should be said for a joke that's gone this far. :)
Especially considering this can be a sensitive subject for people. :/

Steve the Cat |

*Interesting* conversation to wake up to. Anyways I think Scout will be the one laughing when every mage in the campaign mysteriously has only flesh to wood prepared!
Also, crafting feats are totally fine, it'll be a good way to pass those long journeys. And if it gets to overpowered, there can always be a mysterious scarcity of crafting materials.

Simon Saito |

Fair enough.
It's hard to make Wondrous items overpowered. :)
Or not hard at all.
I don't know.
I'm more into character than building and I have a hard time seeing what other people call overpowered. :/
But my ineptitude doesn't prevent me from unintentionally trying broken combos that just sounds good to me. XD
