Scout is not always diplomatic and doesn't usually suffer fools that well. From his point of view the priest's incompetence is not the circus's problem. Scout might have been more charitable if we had been in the area for a while and had decent cash reserves and a reliable fan base. But as things stand the group is too close to the edge to be taking potentially serious risks for minimal gain just because some idiot thinks we can be drafted.
Alternately, he's offering us a job easy enough that circus performers could do it, even at an adventurer's pay. That's the hope, at least.
Maybe the priests can't get involved because sacrilege or vows or somesuch?

Dang it.... I was simply going to go, "If P=NP, then you divide both sides of the equation by P to get 1=N...." but figured out that NP is a single variable within itself....

Mostly been keeping to myself, because a -lot- of the games I get into just wind up with an absentee DM. It's a shame, too, because he was a really good DM. Makes me sad I got Shi's hopes up only to have everything fall off the edge... but maybe he'll be back shortly (I say, looking at the other dead roleplays in my list.)

And that's why you're a better person than me. :) I tend to think I did something to run someone off, rather than something bad happening. Though I also enter full panic anxiety mode at times, too.
Yeah... I'm still waiting to restart the game I GM, because it turns out that while I find character creation quick and stress-relieving, actually running a game requires dedicated stretches of creative energy that I'm not quite ready to restart after a very busy and disappointing last year. It's... I dunno, but probably just a work deadline or something came up, and it might be for a project with a long direction.
Yeah, I tend not to be upset at people for getting busy or the like. I just dislike when the silence occurs.

That's kinda my thought as well.... He would usually warn us of an absence or get to us pretty quickly if he wasn't able to post... This plain dead silence kinda worries me....

Yeah, hope he is ok. I had a player drop out, and found out later he had an accident and was in a coma. He recently dropped a note that he was awake again and recovering in the hospital, but couldn't play for awhile.
I'm a bit more hesitant to join. It really depends on the theme and flavor and such. I wouldn't mind being a player, but I've likewise been thinking of doing more GMing, which means that I should likely limit my new games, even as several are spiraling away.
I'd still lean more towards his new job keeping him busy. I'd just joined a second campaign he was running and although it was much slower than this one started, it was going well before the poof. :p I'll welcome him back when he arrives again, or mourn his loss on the boards, otherwise.
Actually, as Magic pointed out via PM... I kinda do have a campaign that I don't mind grabbing more people into if they're interested. The group's currently level 5 but about to be level 6. I just mostly pushed a combat into their laps, so it'll be a bit slow to get people in, but it's designed such that a revolving cast of characters is entirely possible. I'd prefer to keep it no-evil, and mostly restrict 3pp to just stuff you ask and I allow on a case-by-case basis. There's already a very varied background amongst the characters.
Lycanthrope from a torn world.
Techslinger from a distant future.
Gunslinger from a modern world with limited magic.
Buzzsaw Kitty of Doom from a world assaulted by undead.
(His 'familiar'), a construct from a world overtaken by plants.
And last, but not least, a catfolk summoner from a celtic land with the world's cutest (and perhaps laziest) Chimera for a companion.
As I don't think I'm going anywhere (other than slowly more insane), if any of you wanted to hop into that, I think you'd be mostly welcomed. And you kinda get your own world to come up with things for. :)
