Gaius cuts the hobgoblin twice. He's AC 19 normally.
Hamailii's wand strikes the dragon, burning it. It roars in pain and shouts "You're dead! All of you, but you first!"
Trellara moves up behind Bran, continuing her magical song, and does her best to dodge any future arrows. (Total Defense)
The bladebearer strikes back at Gaius, but fails to pierce the warrior's defenses.

Hoping she had the breathing room to do so, Tal'ariel begins to cast a spell. Her allies at this point probably recognize the beginning of an enlargement spell, with Bran as the likely target. Casting Enlarge Person. 1 Round casting time.
Bran O'Dimm
Bran doesn't really understand the spell, but he realizes that Tal's focus is taking longer than normal. "Careful Trellara, let me take the front here."
He threads the rapier through the ogre in front of him.

If this drops the Ogre he will 5 foot step into his space, trying to get closer to the other two.
GM Zelligar
"Dragonbreath, Bran! Inside the Town Hall!" shouts Trellara. However, the ogres are blocking the stairs down from the roof into the building, so you can't get inside just yet.
Bran deals two significant wounds to the ogre, though it is still on its feet.
"She's casting! Stop her!" shouts the goblin at the dragon.
"NO! This one first!" replies the dragon, breathing a gout of acid at Hamailii as it swoops past.
Acid, Hamailii DC 20 Reflex save for half: 8d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 3, 3, 2, 3, 4, 6) = 28 Don't forget Good Hope on your save.

I'll let her slam the door shut and be outside if she wants, or go into the building with that thing.
Bran O'Dimm
Uh oh. Hope that isn't another of those Harrow-Blades. The area Trellara, Tal and I are standing is it open at the top? Just trying to get a visual.
GM Zelligar
Yes. Bran, Trellara, and Tal'ariel are standing on what used to be the third floor of the Town Hall. Its roof has collapsed and it is open to the sky above - so now the third floor is the de facto "roof".
The ruined building off to the side:
A one-story stone building once stood here, but now its flat roof has almost entirely collapsed. A section of roof to the east remains intact, forming a narrow and mossy platform above the water. The remaining walls stand about a half-foot above the water level, creating an L-shaped enclosure. The entire area has been reinforced with a fence of logs and branches lashed together with ropes, extending the ruined walls of the building up by another ten feet. The only easy way inside seems to be a gate in the northeast corner, near a floating bridge that leads back to the boardwalk that surrounds the Town Hall.
Gaius strikes the hobgoblin twice more. Hamailii scorches the dragon again.
Trellara rushes to Tal'ariel's side and casts Vanish on the wounded elf. "I've only got one more of those, but you can't take another pass like that last one."
Actually in the AP the ranger has Favored Enemy (elf) +4 and a bunch of elf-bane arrows. Tal'ariel would have taken another 27 damage or so that last round. Given this party composition it would be insanely deadly - I think this is hard enough.
The bladebearer, wounded, is going to fight to the death against Gaius.

GM Zelligar
There really isn't much cover you can get in this case against a flying archer on a dragon. With the dragon's 150' movement, unimpeded by the buildings, the archer's ability to fire at the midpoint of the move, and the lack of roofs in most of these ruins, he could almost always get a full attack on you. A cylindrical Wind Wall would have worked (since I would rule the archer can't fire straight down). Or going underwater, but that has its own risks.
One ogre steps up and strikes at Trellara. The other shouts and points, indicating it wants to bash her too, but the first ogre doesn't care. It winds up for a huge swing...

GM Zelligar
Actually, my mistake; Greater Grapple does not boost CMD. I maintain my earlier ruling that the size penalty to AC does not apply to CMD (you get a size bonus instead), so that makes Bran's CMD 32. Base 29, net +1 Enlarge, +2 Cat's Grace = 32. All monster CMD entries are calculated as if the size modifier to AC does not apply to CMD.
Gaius's blade just misses the goblin... oh, wait, Higher Ground. He hits!

Bran, Gaius, Tal'ariel, are all around half? As is one of the ogres.
The goblin is better off, but he has a twin-sword Gaius in his face (and also with an AOO to take).
And then there's the razorfiend.
Liking the tension here.
Gaius's AOO, then the razorfiend.
Gaius Trevelyan
AOO, Disarm: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 12 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 34 Technically this creates an AOO back but I don't think you can AOO an AOO... :D
As the goblin attempts to fire Gaius's sword whistles out, slicing deeply into the goblins fingers!
If I'm not allowed to disarm...
Crit?: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 12 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 28 Damage: 2d8 + 8 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (6, 6) + 8 + 4 + 4 = 28
GM Zelligar
Gaius, do you want Flame to do anything?
The razorfiend (aka 'harrow-blade') moves to the stairs to come to the aid of the ranger and dragon. As it does so, it triggers an AOO from Tal'ariel!
AOO, Invisible, Inspire Courage, Good Hope: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 15
That would just miss its flat-footed AC due to Tal'ariel's "All Power Attack All The Time" philosophy, but as Tal'ariel shimmers into view, her sword descending, Trellara uses her last spell of the day, singing a note of arcane power.
Gallant Inspiration: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4
The beast turns towards the sound, and Tal'ariel's sword catches it in the shoulder.
Damage: 1d10 + 10 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + 10 + (3, 1) = 16
The razorfiend roars and breathes a cone of acid, catching Tal'ariel and Bran. DC 18 Reflex save; Prot Evil and Good Hope apply (and Cat's Grace for Bran; Bran has +2 cover bonus from the angle).
Acid Damage: 5d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 4, 3) = 13
Trellara draws Hamailii's wand and tries to heal the cleric.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Now he's got no weapon, sure!
Flame leaps from Gaius's bag, exiting as a fox and landing the size of a small tiger! She circles the now disarmed goblin as Gaius unleashes the full fury of both his swords.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 10 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 23 Damage: 1d8 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 2 + 2 = 10
Attack 2: 1d20 + 10 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 10 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 30 Damage: 1d8 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 2 + 2 = 15
Attack 1a: 1d20 + 5 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 26 Damage: 1d8 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 2 + 2 = 14
Attack 2a: 1d20 + 5 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 32 Damage: 1d8 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 + 2 = 9
Crit?: 1d20 + 5 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 29 Damage: 1d8 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 2 + 2 = 13
With Flame distracting his foe Gaius lands blow after blow, carving bloody furrows into the goblin!
I make that 61 damage?
Tal'ariel Rhuidon
For what it's worth, I think I get 4 more damage from the AOO because of Good Hope and Inspire Courage?
Reflex DC18, Good Hope, Prot Evil: 1d20 + 9 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 9 + 2 + 2 = 30
Tal'ariel ducks completely under the gout of acid launched toward her, rolling forward and attempting to strike upward at the razorfiend's soft underbelly.
Curve Blade, Good Hope, Inspiration: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 7 + 2 + 2 = 23; Damage: 1d10 + 10 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 2 + 2 = 18
GM Zelligar
Good catch! Any movement from Tal'ariel? She can tell this thing has reach, so she's currently in its threatened area. If she used Acrobatics to move backwards, or down and back over the edge of the stairs, it would not be able to 5' step and full attack her because of the stairs. Ogres are up after she decides whether or not to move.
