The night has set in and the wilderness seems to come alive in the darkness. Or at least the presence of dark and terrible things comes alive...
Survival DC 20 to follow your path back, first two Aid Others posted will be accepted.
If you would like to 'hustle' I will allow you to do so and knock an hour and a half off your arrival time, but you will increase your chances of an encounter by 10% per roll on the RET and add one additional roll. Let me know and I will post again!
Mai Liu |
Mai tries to provide wise advice to the pathfinders.
Wis Aid Another: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
"We should hurry back to the huts and not spend any more time in this wood than we must."
Mai votes to hustle.
Nicci and Mai both take out hooded lanterns, fill them with oil, and light them to provide some illumination to the gloom.
Mai will go wherever needed and is happy to carry her lantern to help light the path.
Pieter Üsthåusen |
Hustling sounds good.
Pieter nods the the others and follows their lead, the flickering torches pierce the darkness through the woods. Roots seem to grasp at his ankles, the mossy track damp with the evenings cold makes the path slick. But he trusts his friends, especially Mordin to lead him upon the route of hope. 'Pharasma save his soul. If he has departed the world, keep it in your good graces. Although I hope he holds to this mortal realm.'
Nicci Artieta |
Nicci will also make an attempt to help.
Wis Aid Another: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
"Hurrying is a good idea."
Nicci will follow behind whoever is leading the way (with Survival) to hold the lantern. She has her mace drawn. #2 in marching order unless somebody objects.
Belgeon Silverkin |
Hustling is good for me too
Belgeon seeing fine with no light does not have need of a lantern, he takes up the rear guard position thinking that with the lanterns pointed towards the path he would be most likely to spot something coming at them from behind. Also he's the slowest, and generally takes the back anyways.
Mordin Fau |
Survival: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
His beady, suspicious eyes darting to the ground before them, Mordin prepares to lead on, before pausing abruptly.
"Watch my back. It may not be there for much longer..." he murmurs to the others morosely.

Okay, so you are getting a random encounter of serious proportions. This will take me a little bit of time to get set up since some of the things I will need are currently in boxes. Expect me to be a couple more days. Sorry!
In the meantime get me some Perception checks, and roll initiative. We aren't on battle time yet, but might as well get the numbers up, so I can get everything charted out.

Mordin Fau |
"Far too optimistic, Mai," Mordin says, slipping a vial out of his sleeve, "We already got lucky with the children. Whatever is up there is more than likely going to try to kill us."
Mordin palms his shield extract.
Pieter Üsthåusen |
Pieter keeps apace with Belgeon and looks into the murk before calling out.
"Neighbour show yourselves, it's too dark a night to be lurking in a wood." his large voice resounds, getting lost amongst the trees. "Maybe we can be of assistance?" Though his words are kind they are tempered with a hard steel, miuch like the sword he holds naked in his hand.
