Elisa knows they look like snakes, Saulric knows the room is underground, Szordrin knows the metal snakes are magical constructs and tells the group they are hard to hit because of their size and speed, plus being made of metal they are naturally resistant to attacks. He also says the snakes have a wicked bite and may even have poisoned fangs....

Well whatever they are, they don't look friendly. We've broken out of prison, defeated the tyrant's of Mitra who put us there and fought our way down here fine though, so these should be no problem!

i made them attack the last person that damaged them since they are mindless and if someone missed then they were not considered a threat

Alaric and Saulric strike the moving cobra but do not kill it, but Szordrin manages to inflict a small amount of cold damage to stop the construct permanently. After the fight is over the group notices the constructs seem to be made out of mithril.

There is nothing else of interest in the room save for the door to the south.

The door to the south is unlocked and reveals another hallway when opened. This hallway stops at yet another door with an inscription overhead - “Suffer not the fool. Stupidity is our faith’s cardinal sin.”

The door is not trapped and Saulric opens it.
Beyond the door is a square chamber with a podium in its center.
The chamber is lit only by a hanging oil lantern. Upon the podium lies a pendant of silver- a dragon with sapphire eyes, very beautiful and ornate.
