Event Name: Cosmic Captive PbP Gameday
Event Number: #94366
June 9th-July 21st
Classic Tier 1-2
Please give me the following information:
1. Player/Forum Name
2. Character's Name
3. Class and level
4. PFS# (and dash)
5. Faction
6. Day job Roll (if any)
Please take notice of the following:
I expect you to fill your initiative modifier, perception modifier and preferred place in the marching order on the map link. If you do not fill these you get to act last in initiative and fail all perception checks automatically that I make for you. I will place you last in marching order.
I handle initiative in posting order.
I expect you to use the appropriate lines (Race, Classes / Levels and Gender) to give me vital information (AC, Saves etc) about your character. You can take a look at my aliases for an example.
I attempt to post at least once a day during weekdays. When I do not post: I have not forgotten about you, there were other things to do with my time that took priority. I understand that life comes first. If you will miss a significant amount of time please let us all know and then provide information as to what your character would do in combat and out so the appropriate actions can take place.
This is a special. As such we need to keep our focus, have steady posting and move the scenario forward. I will bot you if you do not post.
And most important: this is a game and I expect us all to have fun while playing! If something causes you not to have fun: please address it (either here or in a PM) and I will do my utmost to get you back to having fun again.

It has been lately. It was ridiculous.
What are the rules on getting over the lava? If I wanted to jump to the space next to the Ifrit that'd be okay right? Moving Northwest and jumping the little stream and landing on the rock island it is standing on? Is there a check involved or is it as long as we don't stop in the space we are assumed we made it?

The only rules I could find for laval were on page 444 of the Core Rulebook.
"Lava Effects
Lava of magma deals 2d6 points of fire damage per round of exposure, except in the case of total immersion (such as when a character falls into the crater of an active volcano), which deals 20d6 fire damage per round.
Damage from lava continues for 1d3 rounds after exposure ceases, but this additional damage i sonly half of that dealt during actual contact (that is, 1d6 or 10d6 points per round). Immunity or resistance to fire serves as an immunity or resistance to lava or magma. A creature immune or resistant to fire might still drown if completely immersed in lava (see Drowning)."
I'm assuming we're not taking damage from the environmental heat - from breathing the air here, which would normally cause 1d6 points of fire damage per minute - because of the spells that we accepted for that 1 PP. I do not, however, have any idea what that means as far as the lava. I suppose you could try jumping over it as usual? You, uh. Definitely don't want to fall in though, so pay attention to your Acrobatics/Jump.

Yay! My first critical hit with this character!

I keep trying to post on the gameplay thread but it keeps timing me out and won't let me post! :(
What I'm trying to write:
Ree just grins happy as a clam as she enjoys the food and drink.
"The Pathfinders also pay well for men and women of interesting talents too. I don't suppose you yourself do any interplanetar...er...interplana....er... any trading with others?
While chatting gleefully with the Efreeti Ree also is stealthily attempting to "Identify a valuable business prospect during the course of an adventure" (Exchange faction card)
Stealth DC 16: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Thank you so much I don't know why it's not letting me post there no matter what I do right now! :(

hiyami |

It's a series of goals that your character can attempt to accomplish over the course of their adventures in order to gain some (I believe?) permanent bonuses that can be used in all of your adventures later on. We were talking about the one specifically for The Exchange because that's the faction we belong to. ^o^
I would eyeball THIS for more information. c:

I don't get it...tonight it posts just fine first time...I love pathfinder but sometimes I hate their website!
and I dunno if that's the only way we're supposed to do them but in my first two pbp games I saw others doing it so I just started doing it that way myself too!

★ - OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT - ★
Hello Cosmonauts!
The lovely staff at Paizo gave me 15 ten-dollar gift certificates to distribute across the Cosmic Captive Special. Alas, we have 25 tables, so not every table can win one. In order to pick winners, I’m hosting a Cosmic Giveaway!
The Rules:
You cannot nominate yourself. You cannot pick me. Pick someone else (fellow player, GM, backup GM) who made your experience of Cosmic Captive fun! Tell me why!
You can submit only one name, but you can make a submission on the above link from now until July 9th.
Some names will likely get chosen because of the stories you tell me. Some may get selected in a random lottery. I’ll try to spread the love around to as many different tables as I can.
Hugs,
Hmm

(Tizen) **High fives Qwerty on a job well done!**
**Comes back around for another to Hiyami**
It's those that go the extra mile that deserve the extra props. Congrats you two!

GM Qwerty |

Tis over. I tried to give you all an explanation as to what was going when in areas you could not see. You would have eventually won that last fight facing one vs six.
I will work on the chronicles and post a link to them in the map link. Many thanks for playing and for your patience.

That was a wild ride! Thank you for such a great game Qwerty and congrats to you and hiyami again! :D
Yea stuff was a bit confusing with this special but you ran it really well for us!

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

If I misstated that in the beginning then I was in error and I sincerely apologize. Taking 1 xp in lieu of 1 pp would make no sense since you would not get credit for playing the scenario and if you decide to not pay for the buff then you would not go to the asteroid. The cost of the buff was 1 pp out of the 2 you could get. I do not agree with that part since it makes no sense for the scenario to do that especially with the lower levels but that is how it is stated.
Finally, a PC may purchase planetary adaptation (CL 11th) as a spellcasting service for 1 Prestige Point, with its duration beginning at the start of Part 2.
