The angry half-orc finally goes down to the well placed dagger of Cyto.

GM Volandis |

50%, low is the image: 1d100 ⇒ 21
James picks a dwarf and makes powerful stab, but it was his conjured image that looks shocked to be stabbed and then fades away.
The dwarf carefully tries to get out of the mass combat, clearly caring more for himself than his allies. Withdraw action. He will still have to provoke an attack of opportunity from Pioni.
The female elf moves down to support her ally by taking a shot at James.

"That's right, run whilst you possess the means to do so!"
Pioni drops her kukri and steps forward, drawing a chakram, which she flings at the archer.
Ranged attack vs Green: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 for damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Sigh.I thought I might do more damage that way. It matters not how you attack when you roll 2's ;)

James is a little petty so he will move up to the archer that took a chunk out of him and attempt to repay the favour.
longsword: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 1 = 171d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
"If this works we can always remove the weapons and heal them for questioning "

![]() |

Celestin is quite relieved by the apparent loss of resolve in his enemies.
He dashes around the edge of the door, and reloads his crossbow, ready to fire on any that continue to threaten the party.

GM Volandis |

The two remaining Aspis agents mumble something about "...this isn't worth dying for..." as they disengage and quickly head out of the shrine, leavng their injured allies to face whatever fate Pharasma has in store for them.
Combat over.
The two unconscious agents have their weapons removed and are tied up to be questioned. Over time and with a little healing they eventually talk, though they don't know much.
The swordsman tells you all, "Some other aspis agents found out the Pathfinders were on to something so they paid for a Diviner to find out where you were headed. We were ordered to come here and take whatever you had found, but we had no idea there would be so many of you!"

Agreed
I use Rebuke Death and another channel to enable us to question them easier
Rebuke Death: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 Yellow
Rebuke Death: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 Blue
Chanel Energy: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Also helps us of course :)

"Ze authorities can deal wiz zem! I would be 'appy to get zis over with!"

GM Volandis |

You leave the Shrine of the Failed and deliver Eylysia’s cache of papers to the Grand Lodge. Drandle Dreng thanks you all personally for your successful investigation, indicating his interest in your future careers as Pathfinders. He also promises to speak with Master of Scrolls Kreighton Shaine if any of you are yet to pass your confirmation so that the process can be expedited.
Several days after handing over the cache you all receive a missive detailing the initial investigation into the notes.
I've added that note to the Maps link. Congratulations everyone, we finally got there!
