As the next of the simulacras appears behind him, Gallix turns, his face contorts in rage. He pivots and makes a short leap into the air toward the copy of Arodeth. As he returns to the ground, Gallix enlists the help of gravity to add extra force to his strike. Idiot woman! If you don't let us go, we'll all be crushed! Like this!

Had a moment to post finally! You guys are doing awesome! Thanks for continuing to run for me. Wish I could participate more regularly. Just had unfortunate timing with a wedding this weekend. Anyway. Glad I got a chance to chip in. Also, if we're naming our group, I'm voting for the Red Arm of Absalom, in honor of our GM (and maybe a little for my earlier barbarism haha)
Uesugi Hideyoshi
|
I'll vote for that one! Pays homage to Red and it is a good description of how much blood we've had to spill!
GM Red

I like that name a lot, and appreciate that you've recognized your GM in it!
D continues his streak of outstanding aim and launches a sand bullet that cuts a deep wound in the clone's arm. Mr. Pepper follows the shot with his force magic, the blast causing the clone to reel on its feet.
Gallix gets up close and personal with the clone after his leap and swings at the clone's jaw with his cestus, crushing several bones.
Simulacrum (-22)
As the Arodeth clone holds its staff high, light flows into it and it begins glowing. It waves its palm over the staff and a layer of ice covers it. The clone grins wickedly and it swings the frozen staff at Uesugi.
Quarterstaff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 211d6 ⇒ 5
Frigid touch: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 6, 4) = 16
Spell combat and spellstrike
Covered with ice, Uesugi slumps to the ground, frozen solid.
I did say they were more formidable - luckily we have a wand. I think that places you at -9 because you were full before.
Will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Luckily for the party, the simulacrum falls to the ground in a deep slumber after Sirettis wills it to sleep.
Who would like to end her this time?

1st—enlarge person, identify
Sir D. Arthraven

+1 to that team name. :)
Let's have Shaine cast resist energy on Uesugi.
Sirettis uses the wand to heal Uesugi.
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Again if she has the time.
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Gallix kills her.
Sirettis
|
Oooh, she's a magus. Uh, very scary against low level PCs. I've killed a few unfortunate level 1 souls with a 40+ damage crit.
Sirettis takes note of the simulacrum's action and Uesugi's frozen body. She glares at the simulacrum and forces it asleep. She requests Blaster's wand and prepares to heal him.
GM Red
|
Yep. If she ends up passing the will save a few times and the party rolls poorly, it could get ugly. There is time - technically 1d4 ⇒ 1 rounds - between each battle to recover and prepare, which can be extended by damaging the machines in the room by 30 hp or by using DC 15 Disable Device.

The barbarian leaps into the air once more with his fist held high and brings it down hard on the simulacrum's head. The creature offers no resistance to Gallix's momentum and is quickly flattened into a pile of slime.
Combat is done and I'll report the Vault Success.
@Uesugi Sorry, the frozen stuff was just fluff text, you weren't actually frozen, just knocked out.
Uesugi is healed to 1/12 HP so far. I don't remember if anyone has potions if you want to heal some more. Let me know if you do, otherwise I'll have to go back a few pages and see.
GM Red
|
Actually, I don't think anyone used the CLW potion Shaine gave each of you when the bubble appeared. You can take an action to drink one (or two, if someone gives Uesugi one of theirs) before the next clone appears.
One other thing - if you want to move your token on the map to a different spot to prepare before combat starts again, that's fine too.
Uesugi Hideyoshi
|
no prob sry about misreading that. I believe Sirettis bot healed me for 7 and then I'll drink a potion. I'm typing on my phone so can't move token.

Uesugi gets some much needed healing and stands up. At 10/12 now
Shaine nods, "A fine job so far, Pathfinders. You've really outdone yourselves. These simulacra seem a little on the dangerous side, though, so let me help you."
He waves his hands over Uesugi and a barrier fades into his skin.
Resist energy vs cold

Uesugi, would you mind me rolling for Gallix?
I'd love to try it, he mentioned earlier dirty trick should be nifty.
If he does, consider this Gallix roll void. :P
Gallix steps up to the clone.
"Now, i've seen what your last form did to my friend here.
Be a good girl and look over here."
When he diverts her eyes with his fingers, he surprise gauges her eyes, in attempt to blind her.
Improved dirty trick: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
D. shoots at her.
Sand bullet: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24Dmg: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Blaster calls a cheesy line.
"The hunt is on! I'm in her blind spot now."
GUN!!!!, vs blind: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 1 = 19BANG!!!: 1d12 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

I did want to mention that if you want to start playing and not be botted, speak up. I wouldn't want anyone to feel as if they're being botted without wanting to be. Blaster?
Bluff: 1d20 ⇒ 3
The clone shrieks as Gallix shoves his digits into her eye sockets, but then starts laughing. "Do you think I must SEE you to destroy you? Oh no, I can smell your flesh just waiting to be frozen. Foolish Pathfinders." She waves her staff around threateningly, then does what the previous clone did and freezes the weapon, striking Gallix with it...
<50 is a miss: 1d100 ⇒ 29
Or at least, trying to. Her threats were empty and she pokes the staff into the wall, freezing a section of it.
Just need Uesugi's actions
Uesugi Hideyoshi
|
The samurai has full trust in his comrade as pokes her eyes with his fingers. Others might feel this was a dishonourable tactic but in a battle such as those rules had no place.
Crossing the plaza he moved in hopes of better positioning himself to flank the blinded imposter. As he passes it he strikes out with his blade looking to remove its attention from Gallix.

By a longshot, the clone moves at the exact right time and avoids Uesugi's blade. D's sand bullet hits as always, the clone gasping as pain travels through her chest. Blaster has the same luck, although some of the gunpowder gets jammed and the shot hits with less impact. Mr. Peppers blasts the clone again with his magic missile.
The Red Arm of Absalom fights with perfect choreography after so much combat, much like a well-oiled machine.
Finally, Sirettis does what she does best - she puts the clone to bed.
Give us a third vault success? Will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
OOOoooh yeah!
GM Red

Uesugi dices up the clone with his blade, exerting maximum damage and painting the walls with green goo.
Vault success!
I cross-posted Gallix but that attack would have hit, although not enough to kill it. That's okay now though. :)

The clones don't stop coming, and Shaine is growing concerned about the remaining time until it's all over. He estimates there's only about 20 minutes left I could calculate this, but you get what I'm going for here before the asteroid falls - all the more reason to press on and keep taking down these simulacra.
A green dot appears on the ground next to the whirring machines. The dot grows larger as the liquid mass rises up through the tiles and takes its shape as yet another clone of Lady Arodeth.

With sweat beading on his forehead and his hands cramping up Uesugi watched as another image of Lady Arodeth appeared. He did all he could to keep telling himself that this was not a dream and that his life as well as many others depended on continuously slaying these bōrei, ruined spirits, but slowly Uesugi could feel it was weighing on him and that he was slipping away.
With the little energy left in him he began the fatal dance again and moved to strike the creature.

Actually, you are doing far better with the rolls botting Blaster than I was doing... but I have to say, the activity here was overwhelming! I was having a few home emergency issues Wed and Thursday, and then have been trying to catchup since! 151 messages in gameplay, and 64 in discussion! So feel free to continue to bot me as you like, but I will try to stay on top of it. Oct 11 I will be unavailable, though, due to family medical concerns.
When Blaster gets a chance, he moves to get a clearer shot and fires again.

Uesugi and D get distracted by the very foundation of the vault beginning to rumble as the end of days draws near and miss their target. Mr. Peppers' force missile can't miss and slams into the clone.
After imbuing it with magic, the Arodeth clone swings its quarterstaff at Uesugi.
Quarterstaff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 181d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Frigid touch: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 4, 1) = 10
The staff hits, bruising the samurai, but the cold damage doesn't seem to affect Uesugi's flesh at all. 5 damage, thanks Shaine!

Shortly after the attack, Sirettis locks eyes with the clone and sends it dreaming.

The clone's body struggles as it clings to life, but Uesugi's deadly blade is exactly as deadly as it sounds, and he finishes off the simulacrum with a deep strike to its brain. The creature melts into another pile of slime.

Gallix hands his potion to Uesugi. "Here, better to be ready for what comes." He then looks over at the strange, humming mechanisms and points at them. "Those seem to surge every time one of the clones comes out. Maybe if we break them, it'll slow them down. Blaster? D? Think you're up to it?"
The fort DC for CDG is actually 10+the damage dealt, so Uesugi's roll of 19 would actually make a DC 29. Just read up on that when I did it the first time.
