If you do not have eye slot items Shohiraj, please take those Eyes of the Eagle.

The Professional opens the locked door with the key stolen from the halfling Pathfinder. It opens with an audible click, and the door swings open, revealing a temple-like library filled with bookshelves. Rows of low shelves laden with scrolls, books, and the odd relic line this well-lit hall. At its far end stands a small fountain, emitting a small amount of steam. Six decorative columns, each one densely carved with animal imagery and fanciful whorls, stand along the walls, and a pair of lounging lizard statues rest on a dais at the north end of the room.
As the door opens, a wave of ... something ... washes over you. DC 30 on the trap, and you rolled 29...

322, Rataji, and Zurnzal manages to shake off the feeling of disgust that oozes over them, but The Professional, Marnarius, and Jolyrin feel it seep into their pores. Strangely, there seems to be no visible effect other than a lingering feeling of disgust.

Note that 322 now has Deathwatch running. This spell might tell her someting about those statues...

Their flesh is as hard as stone (DR5/bludgeoning), and they can strengthen even this armor at will (can gain hardness 8 for 1 round as an immediate action, four times per day). In pairs, they are resistant to evil creatures (gain protection from evil when within 30' of a like creature), and otherwise have the attack routines of a typical animal of their type.
The Ambitious PJP |
"Thank you. Apparently I had not noticed how severe my injuries were."
Zurnzal now has a tanglefoot bag in one hand, and his short sword in the other.
Exp. 322 |
The void informs this one that those two lizard "statues" are living creatures. The void also warns that the two animal carvings on the farthest set of pillars are alive as well: chameleons of some sort! Let us focus our attacks and take them out one at a time with a single front.

Round 1 (partial)
Jolyrin Jolyrin uses a swift action to give her kukri the keen and frost properties, then casts frigid touch, moves into the room next to one of the chameleons, and attacks it. She deals a grievous wound to the creature as it hangs on the pillar, and it lets out a hiss of pain and surprise! (Your critical hit confirmed, although the weapon did less damage than you thought it should. The creature's hide is as tough as stone.)
322 casts a spell from the void on the leftmost chameleon, hoping to make it attack its fellow. Will save DC 15: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 - failed! The creature suddenly stops its wail of pain and its eyes narrow to slits, and it leaps at its blue companion across the hall.

(Grappled, but he can't bite you this turn because his movement wasn't really a 5' step, but was the unwinding of his body off the pillar.)
Marnarius and the Professional are up!
Cartmanbeck's CORE Pregen |
Would Jolyrin have gotten an AOO against that chameleon as it moved away? If so:

Might not do any damage, but ya never know :)

Round 1 (continued)
Marnarius moves in, studying the injured chameleon. Angered and in pain, the creature lashes out at him as he moves past, but misses. Bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 Marnarius slashes the creature, but leaves only a scratch against its stony skin.
The Professional, taking advantage of the situation, ducks past the chameleon and comes out on the other side. (That was only a single move, you still have a standard action left... let me know what youw ant to do.)
The blue lizard moves forward cautiously, frill extended in a display of power.
Zurnzal and Raatji are up!
The Ambitious PJP |
I am assuming the central one has succumbed to the other injuries, but if not, move Zurnzal diagonally back 1, and apply this to the central one.

Round 2
Jolyrin slashes the chameleon with her kukri, slicing deeply into the creature's throat. "Let... go... of... ME!" The creature spasms and collapses, and Jolyrin extricates herself from the now-limp tongue.
322 moves forward slightly and switches targets to the orange lizard, casting her spell. Will save DC 15: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
The orange lizard turns on its only surviving ally, and climbs back over and around the bookcases towards it. [ooc]It wasn't able to attack this round, but it will AO the blue lizard if one is triggered.[/b]
Marnarius, Professional are up!
GM Lamplighter |
Round 2 (continued)
Marnarius attacks the orange lizard, but his attack does almost no damage against the creature's stony hide.
The Professional ducks behind the bookshelves to flank the blue lizard.

Zurnzal moves around the pews to go up the side of the chamber, and slides in next to the orange lizard. He looks for an opening, and then lashes out with open fist. He connects, but it is like punching a stone wall. Still, some damage gets through.
Rataji makes use of his wand again, this time upon the blue lizard.

322 advances and attacks Orange with her dagger, but her blade doesn't penetrate the creature's stony hide.
The orange lizard, still enchanted by 322's spell, bites its mate viciously. Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21bite damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 5) + 6 = 16 The blue lizard hisses in pain and surprise.

Round 4 (partial)
Jolyrin swings again at the blue lizard, hoping to finish it off. Again, her blade does not penetrate the creature's hide, but the fire and cold do their work.
322 can't react quite fast enough to aid Jolyrin, so she aids Marnarius against the orange lizard instead. Marnarius, you have +2 to hit this round versus the orange lizard.
