Exp. 322 |
I knew that would happen! a musketmaster is super OP. I hate them and hate to play with them. But for the record I hate all guns in my fantasy games. :) Now someone get in there and take this guy down.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
322 sees Jolyrin fall and rushes to her side trying to avoid the inevitable AOO and jumps up onto the chair and table to get to her. As she moves a scroll snaps into her hand from a wrist sheath and she quickly reads it casting Breath of Life on the Magus.
Breath of Life: 5d8 + 7 ⇒ (2, 4, 5, 8, 3) + 7 = 29
After casting the spell 322 falls prone, hoping to take cover behind the chair.
I might need a little help here Mr. DM. First I do not believe we have discussed if a scroll can be put into a wrist sheath. If you are of the camp that says it cannot then I ask that you let 322 be holding it as she has a free hand. The scrolls is worthless if you have to move and pull it since it has to be used that next round. Also consider the distance 322 has to move. She has a move of 30 and the distance is 25 feet, but involves climbing up onto the table. So if this movement is a problem she will not use her acrobatics to try to avoid the aoo and instead use it to climb onto the chair and table. Or perhaps 322 could go under the table? And lastly this will not help at all if the shooter gets another turn as he could possbibly re-kill Jolyrin and kill 322 too.
GM Lamplighter |
@Professional: Zurnzal rolled his own damage, so sneak attack is in there. Jolyrin is sickened, and so has -2, but I missed the +2 for flanking. Still doesn't hit, though.
@322: Yep, I almost stopped playing PFS when firearms were introduced, both from a flavor and a mechanics point of view. On scrolls and wrist sheathes: yeah, I don't allow them, but given 322's propensity for having a hand free *and* her fear of muskets, it's not unreasonable to have had it in hand.
@Rataji: you sure? the bolt begins at your hand, and fries everything in the line... including The Professional and Marnarius.
Exp. 322 |
Sorry for any confusion. 322 needs to move to be adjacent to Jolyrin. This movement may provoke. My hope was to step up on the chair then up on the table as normal movement. So I guess first thing I need to know is if I can get there. If so she uses the scroll of Breath of Life to try to save her. Anywhere adjacent to Jolyrin works. I had in mind the middle chair on the north side of the table.
Cartmanbeck's CORE Pregen |
Yowza! Evil gunner! Er... good gunner, killing the evil characters, LOL.
@322: I heartily appreciate you taking every effort to save Joliryn, but I won't be destroyed if she does die, I'm sure I can apply this to a character with enough prestige to get the resurrection. Sometimes those dice just really want to kill!
Exp. 322 |
Its in the hands of the DM now. I need to move 25' with a move of 30 but a table is in the way. I'll happily take an aoo to get there but getting on the table might require more movement. MY thinking is that if its high enough to require a climb check then I should be able to go under it. :) I should have my flight ability going. We had two rounds in the hall and I could have used a round to do that but they went by too fast. That happens in PBP. AND do not think I am doing this just for you. The party needs you for the last encounter. :P
Choon's CORE Pregen |
Rataji moves into the room and to the south, drawing his curative potion as he goes. He then downs the concoction in a single gulp.
This was modified into a wand use, then into the hideous laughter. Another move this turn will put me where I need to be. I'll move on the map soon. Apologies for the confusion.
GM Lamplighter |
Round 4 (continued)
Rataji moves into the room and unleashes his lightning bolt. The gunner has improved cover from the pillar, but it's the only way to avoid roasting Zurnzal as well. Reflex save DC 18: 1d20 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 9 + 4 = 17 The bolt hits the gunner full-force, and he drops like a stone.
322 leaps to Jolyrin's aid, drawing an attack from the half-orc. falchion: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 1 = 16 - miss! Acrobatics DC 12, jump on table: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 She jumps onto the table without slowing down, jumps down on the far side next to Jolyrin, and reads her scroll. The magic channels life back into the fallen halfling, who awakens.
The half-orc cackles wildly as 322 flees. "Oh, is your friend hurt? That's too bad! Maybe THIS will help!" She launches another fireball at 322.
damage: 7d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 4, 1, 4, 3, 1) = 23
Reflex DC 17 - 322, cover: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 2 = 19 - success!
Reflex DC 17 - Jolyrin, cover: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 9 + 2 = 30 - success!
Reflex DC 17 - Zurnzal: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26 - success!
Half-damage is 11 points. This drops Jolyrin unconscious again. :(
EDIT: Rataji, you can be farther into the room if you'd like, based on the post you just made. We won't alter anything else as it worked out the best possible for you guys anyway.
Zurnzal, Marnarius are up!
The Ambitious PJP |
Zurnzal closes in again on the musket wielder, and tries to punch him out.
Unarmed Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
ugh!
GM Lamplighter |
Round 4 (complete)
Zurnzal moves up to the half-orc spellcaster, but she seems to be magically armored and his attack is ineffective (AC is higher than 15).
Marnarius attacks the paladin. Using same attack routine as before to keep us moving...
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22 damage: 1d8 + 13 + 2d6 ⇒ (8) + 13 + (3, 6) = 30vicious damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10damage: 1d8 + 13 + 2d6 ⇒ (7) + 13 + (3, 5) = 28vicious damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Unfortunately, both blows miss (the first one just barely).
GM Lamplighter |
Round 5
The Paladin concentrates briefly (swift action: lay on hands) and then attacks Marnarius with her greatsword.
lay on hands: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 3) = 12
Greatsword atk 1, haste, smite: 1d20 + 12 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 12 + 1 + 2 = 23 damage, smite: 2d6 + 4 + 7 ⇒ (6, 1) + 4 + 7 = 18
Greatsword atk 2, haste, smite: 1d20 + 12 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 12 + 1 + 2 = 35 damage, smite: 2d6 + 4 + 7 ⇒ (4, 2) + 4 + 7 = 17
possible crit?: 1d20 + 12 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 12 + 1 + 2 = 19 - does NOT confirm
After two attacks, Marnarius falls, and the paladin steps forward towards Rataji. "Well, wizard, are you next?"
Professional, Jolyrin, Rataji, 322 are up!
The Professionnal |
Moving out of her hiding spot, Shohiraj moves behind the paladin and flanking whit Rataji she strikes the woman.
Acrobatics (if needed): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19
Sap (flank): 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 11 + 2 = 19
Damages(non lethal): 1d6 + 6 + 4d6 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 6 + (2, 3, 2, 1) + 8 = 25
can I make worst rolls ?!?
Exp. 322 |
With two party members down, 322 stands and then readies another dispel Magic to thwart the arcane caster's next spell. She will try to use her body to shield the prone magus if there is another blast.
Caster Level: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
GM Lamplighter |
Round 5 (continued)
Jolyrin lies there, unmoving.
Rataji retreats behind a pillar and casts a defensive spell.
322 stands and then readies another dispel magic to thwart the arcane caster's next spell.
The half-orc steps away from Zurnzal and casts another spell. 322 counters the spell, and the half-orc snarls at her. "You're getting annoying, girl!"
Zurnzal is up!
Exp. 322 |
Whew! I was unsure if the roll was high enough.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
What did she just try to cast? 322 asks the group.
Exp. 322 |
Slight adjustment... Marnarius didn't fall after the second hit, it took the third hit to drop him.
[dice=Greatsword, iterative attack, smite, haste]1d20+7+2+1
[dice=damage, smite]2d6+4+7
This could be worse for Marnarius... 322 has Deathwatch running. Is he dead?
The Ambitious PJP |
Zurnzal steps up to follow the caster, and punches and kicks her.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Attack 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
GM Lamplighter |
Round 6
The paladin strides towards Rataji, vengeance in her eyes. Greatsword, haste, smite: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 10 + 1 + 2 = 3050% miss chance, 01-50=miss: 1d100 ⇒ 21Damage: 2d6 + 4 + 7 ⇒ (2, 6) + 4 + 7 = 19 Rataji's magical protection allows him to avoid being hit.
The Professional, Jolyrin, Rataji, 322 are up! Professional, you are again free of the urge to flee, but must make another Will save when you can see either the paladin or the spellcaster again.
Exp. 322 |
Question - The map shows the professional about 20 feet outside of the room, but I thought she had moved up to the doorway and them up to strike at the pally?
GM Lamplighter |
OK, NPCing Rataji for this round, since if he delays he's gonna die, and then you guys might be in real trouble...
Rataji steps behind the pillar and unleashes a burst of magical missiles at the paladin.
magic missile: 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 1) + 4 = 14
The missiles tear into the paladin, and she staggers backwards, barely able to stand.
322, you are up!
Exp. 322 |
With two down party members 322 hesitates, but only for a moment. She casts a spell, holding it for a touch. Jumping back up on the table she crosses it to stand next to the Paladin where she tries to touch him
Acrobatics to jump up on the table: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Touch Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Cause Serious Wounds: 3d8 + 7 ⇒ (2, 8, 7) + 7 = 24 Will Save DC 17 for half.
[ooc]That is how I have seen it played. But if you rule that she has to move first and then cast defensively then the 15 rolled above is is he concentration roll, which makes it easily and this is her touch attack.
Alternative Touch: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
GM Lamplighter |
Round 6 (continued)
322 casts a spell, then leaps over the table and smacks the paladin. A jolt of negative energy rips through her, and she drops like a stone.
The half-orc shrieks as 322 downs the paladin. She steps toward 322 and casts a spell defensively. Concentration DC 21: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23 She drops a fireball at her feet.
damage: 7d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 2, 1, 4, 3, 4) = 22
Reflex save DC 17 - Half-orc: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 - half damage
Reflex save DC 17 - 322: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 - full damage
Reflex save DC 17 - Zurnzal: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13 - full damage
Reflex save DC 17 - Professional, cover: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 10 + 2 = 20 - no damage
Reflex save DC 17 - Rataji: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 - full damage
Everyone is up!
