"I would assume that the occupant simply does not want to meet with us. While I would hate to cause undue damage, we should force our way in."

Balon will put his shoulder into the door and try to break it open. Strength: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 Very ineffectually, though it still probably contributed to his desire to distract the occupant from what's going on around the rest of the building.

The pounding on the door by Balon and Whiskers does nothing but make some noise, and ascertain that thee are well constructed doors.

Eolowyn climbs down far enough to peer into the windows below her. There are heavy curtains on the windows, but she thinks that she sees some movement within, and the sound of a dog barking increases.

Male Human (Minnesotan) GM 5 Gallows of Madness |Midnight Marauder

Actions by anyone?

You've spent some time, and now realize that the doors are all locked (not surprising). Eolowyn can tell that the window she is peering into is cracked open slightly, and that someone was scurrying around the room, but seems to be leaving that area. There is obviously a dog in the room, who is now barking directly on the other side of the window from the elf.

Balon moves to the nearest window and swings his scythe into it, deciding that breaking in will probably be the best option at this point.

scythe attack on window: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
damage: 2d4 + 1 ⇒ (1, 3) + 1 = 5

HAHA he might actually miss the window!

Male Human (Minnesotan) GM 5 Gallows of Madness |Midnight Marauder

Balon easily breaks the window with his scythe. The act is not quiet, and there are currently shards of glass everywhere, but you have a way in if you want it.

Eolowyn, through the curtains, you see what appears to be someone running past the window, and then down the stairs.

Perception: Balon: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

Balon, you see a man come out from a hallway, or something. Balon yells out that there is someone there, and he looks like he is trying to run!

We'll enter initiative at this time.

Hiko, hearing the sounds of multiple planes of glass, decides to join suit. Sadly both of the double panes of glass were too far away to help just yet, so she instead steps up to the nearest pane of glass. Balon leaps through the broken window, but catches himself on the broken glass (glass damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2)

acrobatics for whiskers: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18 Amazingly, he makes it through safely.

Hyrgan breaks the glass in front of him (such vandals you all are!) and peers in, seeing Halmont running across the way.

Eolowyn attempts to enter through the upper window (1d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 - breaks the window -- it was only open a crack acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17) She sees an open door, and a staircase, and from the open door a dog leaps out at her!

Male Human (Minnesotan) GM 5 Gallows of Madness |Midnight Marauder

Yes, you have completed 3 encounters. If you have enough PP (16) to be raised, you will be able to complete the scenario as well, after they are able to bring your body in to the Grand Lodge, and cash in your prestige. You'll also be able to buy/use PP for the first restoration, if you have it. Note that others can help on the gp costs for spellcasting services, but not any PP costs.

K cool, I'll check my char sheets tonight and see what I have available. :-D

EDIT: Super luckily, my Dhampir race boon also gives me one free raise dead. It's in my chronicle sheets listed there. So, as long as the party brings my body back, no one has to spend anything. Then I'll just have to buy a scroll of restoration. Phew! :)

Dark Archive

Human (Minnesotan) Rules Lawyer 4, GM 5!

That boon is pretty cool. Restoration will cost you 4pp or 1280gp per casting... Raise Dead leaves you with -2 permanent levels. As you can only use 1 Resto per week, you cannot get the second permanent negative level cured during the adventure, but can afterwards. You can also buy one with PP and one with gold, if you like.

Male Human (Minnesotan) GM 5 Gallows of Madness |Midnight Marauder

Just one more derailment post, my buddy pointed out that since I'm a dhampir, I don't even need a restoration spell... my negative levels disappear after 24 hours. So if there was any character that was to be killed, mine was probably the best choice. LOL

Dhampir Resist Level Drain:
Resist Level Drain (Ex): A dhampir takes no penalties from energy drain effects, though he can still be killed if he accrues more negative levels then he has Hit Dice. After 24 hours, any negative levels a dhampir takes are removed without the need for an additional saving throw.

Wembly, don't forget to roll your possible crit and extra damage on that bite. Also, I'm still paying attention, guys, don't worry! :)

I'll say that the Mage Armor is still up... for this combat only.

Balon, Elementals are immune to crits.
After being narrowly missed, Whiskers attacks, hitting once with his bite.

Wembly launches himself out the window, while Hyrgan unsuccessfully looks for tracks.
