The party takes a well-deserved rest at the Cassomir Lodge... check in!

Miaka relaxes a bit in the lodge after some intense training to bring her to level 2 ...
... and is ready to finish the job.

Jamamros props his feet up and looks at his party. Bunch of misfits but we got the job done. That Grenda is a pain in my ass.
"Took y'all long enough to heal me." Jamamros stands from his seat, "Anyone here that can get me and my...friends" Jam says with a slight hesitation, "a drink in this place. Wouldn't want to go back out without a drink first."

Venture-Captain Hestia Themis, a small, unassuming woman of Taldan heritage with dark hair and eyes, holds a large sheaf of papers in her small hands and clears her throat. Her booming voice, the antithesis of her stature, fills the main hall of the small Pathfinder Lodge in the Taldan city of Cassomir.
"One of our own has been kidnapped. Pathfinder Cestis was taken just days ago from a relics auction in the Imperial Naval Shipyards, and we believe his dissapearance to be related to the six dozen or so kidnappings of the last several weeks. Now that one of our own is missing, this has become a Society matter--something we’ll get to the bottom of."
Themis gestures to a teenage boy standing beside her, who nervously regards his surroundings and sweats profusely, his thick brown hair matted and wet against his head. "This is Nefti, the assistant to the biggest thorn in my side in Cassomir--an agent of the Aspis Consortium named Kafar. Kafar is also missing, taken from the same relics auction along with Pathfinder Cestis and a dozen other citizens of Cassomir. Nefti was at the auction, saw where a small group of the kidnapped victims were taken, and his handlers in Cassomir have give us access to him so that he might guide us to our missing Pathfinder. If you happen to find Kafar..." Themis grinds her teeth. "Let him go, per the agreement I’ve just made with his superiors. Your priority is Cestis, and I think Nefti can lead you to him. Any questions?"

![]() |

Isabella moves to the boy and gets down on one knee so her face is level with the boy "No need to worry Nefti, the dwarves are not as scary as they seem. Although it might be best if you do not pet the cat. Why don't you tell us what you saw?
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Before being greeted by the Venture-Captain:
We were going to have you turned to a Zombie. Figured that you'd like that better, but no one wanted t waist their gold on it. Grenda sneers at Jamamros.
Listening to the briefing Grend remains quiet. When the Venture-Captain finishes Grenda nods Rescue Kafar so he can tell us where to rescue Cestis. Sound simple enough. Do we think the Derro are involved like with your friend and that Jet Rat thing?

GMTrex |

The teenager, a mix of hatred and fear in his eyes, explains that when the group at the auction was abducted, he jumped into the water and managed to swim to safety, where he was soon forgotten. He believes that the captives are being held at an inn called the Unlucky Sailor, currently closed during remodeling.
Themis nods at Grenda's question. "It is entirely possible. The ledger you recovered, which we are still in the process of translating, contains records that match some of those abducted from the Imperial Naval Yard in recent weeks--though obviously not this group."

![]() |

And now the other obvious question. How do we know this isn't a trap by the Aspis to capture even more Pathfinders?

GMTrex |

Themis is blunt. "We don't." Nefti looks insulted and opens his mouth to say something, but thinks better of it.

![]() |

That's what I was afraid of. Oh well no use dwelling. The end comes to all. Grenda picks up here new Waraxe which is etched to resemble a moon with a leering skull. Come along Jamamros we might be able to make a zombie out of you after all.

![]() |

"I assure you, Nefti, not all dwarves are dour grumps like these two." Drystan says, smiling. "I, for example, worship our goddess of love, Bolka, and I think you'd find me to be a jovial fellow."

GMTrex |

Following your only lead, the party heads to the inn of the Unlucky Sailor.
Perched precariously overhanging the dirty harbor water stands the Inn of the Unlucky Sailor. A fresh coat of white paint glistens on half the inn’s outside walls, and most of the windows are boarded up. The roof leans slightly toward the harbor, as if at any moment the entire thing could come off and slide into the ocean. The dock leading up to the inn is made of rotting wood connected to thick, rank-smelling pilings. Several small rowboats are currently tied up along its length. See map.

![]() |

"Grenda so glad to see you survived the run in with the derros." Jamamros gives Grenda a look of indifference before turning to Drystan. "I find it hard to believe you find us sour. Perhaps we could improve everyone's mood, and even Grenda's fear of other followers of Groteus, by turning her into the zombie she keeps bringing up. But I truly would hate for anything to happen to her," Jamamros finishes, the statement dripping in sarcasm.

"Dour not sour, but I don't care to lick you to find out if the other is true," Drystan says, chuckling.
At the inn
"This places looks as rickety as a... well I don't think I've seen nor heard of anything quite this bad, honestly." Drystan tests each board before he steps onto it, unsure if the structure will even bear its own weight, much less a person on top of it.

![]() |

"It does indeed Drystan!"
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
"but I think that is all just appearance, these docks will probably outlast us!" Isabella cheerfully adds as she puts her full weight on the docks...
If there is a saving throw to be made Isabella uses her charmed life ability, adding 3 to the saving throw

GMTrex |

The boards hold, though Isabella is half-blinded by the sea breeze apparently...

![]() |

Bah! We're not going to find anything sitting out here!. Genda moves towards the front door and gives it a shove (or pull if it opens out).

![]() |

"Did you suffer a blow to the head in the sewers, Isabella, I'd be surprised if this bridge lasts the month." Drystan says. "Anyhow, may as well get over there."

![]() |

That was unexpected!
"No, that would be Jamamros who suffered a blow to the head" Isabella replies while moving to Grenda.
"Do you need help with that door?"

GMTrex |

Grenda busts the door open with a heavy grunt. The inside of the building looks considerably better than the exterior, with fresh wood and buckets of paint adorning the half-remodeled inn. It's also quite a scene. Several well-dressed folks sit tied-up in a corner, while another man is lashed and gagged over the remains of a bar. A crazy-eyed fellow and a trio of oversized rats are all staring your way, with blood on their minds...

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Damage: 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1) + 3 = 6
Unfortunately, the lack of focus on the rat leads Jamamros to swing wildly, missing the rat by a wide margin. "Did someone spill something, can't get a good footing here," Jamamros shouts hoping to cover up his awful attack attempt.

GMTrex |

Grenda: ah, gotcha, thanks!
Isabella: I don't think it's precision damage, so I don't see why not.
"I WILL RID THIS WORLD OF YOU FIL--" shouts the ratmaster as Isabella's aldori dueling sword cuts short his tirade. He falls to the freshly sawed planks of the half-finished interior and begins staining them a deep red.
Out of initiative!

"I'm starting to wonder if something is wrong with the water here. There's a lot more crazies about than any other city I've visited." With that, Drystan orders a decent ale and sits at the bar, as if nothing happened.

![]() |

Funny that I keep missing out on regaining panache, due to not having had the chance to spend it.
Isabella cleans her sword and sheathes it. She then moves over to the bar and removes the gag of the bound person there.
"Who are you?"
Meanwhile she starts working on the bonds, but she takes her time, first wanting an answer.

![]() |

Grenda gives Jamamros a patronizing look as she cleans the rats blood off her new axw. I've seen what happens when you try and take the lead in combat. The fight does end quickly, for you.
She then retrieves her wand and uses it to heal herself,
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

GMTrex |

Drystan pulls up a seat at the bar and orders a drink, but with no bartender around, the words hang in the empty air. Grenda heals herself and bickers with Jamamros. Isabella begins to untie the heavily-beaten man strapped over said bar. Once the gag is removed, he coughs heavily for a few moments before replying. "Name's Kafar."

![]() |

Seeing that the man is unconscious Isabella takes him down from the bar and then moves to the other bound people.

Whoops, went to look up his stats and it looks like he is actually unconscious with the appearance of having been drugged. So you can lie to him all you want until he wakes up :)
"Zzzzzzz."

No posts from anybody in days. There's a room full of tied-up people, one of whom is beaten and unconscious. There's plenty here for you to do, but I can't push for you.
