Venator Legatti
The two cooks move aside rather quickly, shock flashing in their eyes. Before you manage to go through you hear a small bell ring, coming from behind the bar.
I assumed that the ring was from a door, so I went outside to look whoever had gone out or in. But since that may be in the kitchen, I don't know. Is there a backdoor at the place?
Venator Legatti
Venator realizes there's no bell in the door, so he takes a quick look as to where it could be before coming in. Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
He walks inside by the back door, with a little box in his hands. Everyone can see it, so he just walks by as if passing through the kitchens was a normal thing, but he actually expects some of the workers to say something. Otherwise we will walk through and come back at the main hall.
Aerodus Lurconarr Charthagnion
Looking at Octavian, Aerodus says, "I'm interested in helping. Just tell me what you need and I'll find it."
At the new cleric's entrance, Aerodus turns and stares at him, his eyes narrowing.
When the conversation with Octavian is finished, he makes his way to the second floor, wanting to investigate the bell sound.

Venator
Octavian "Tomorrow a shipment of ingredients is scheduled to arrive at Sandpoint by sea, once we've seen what it has I'll be able to give you a list of what is left to collect from the wilds" he says as he pours himself a bowl of the broth
Jirani Shores
As the ranger moves on Jirani nods at Octavian, So it seems we shall all continue to Sandpoint as we had intended. I am happy to lend my aid to this endeavor though I admit I have other business in the town but such things need not be in conflict.
Jirani hesitates for a moment and then looks to Lia, You seem to have some ability and it seems in my experience those with ability are more robust against things like disease. Are your family protected if we head into plague?
Lia Vantas
Lia cringes.
"That's why I came back in here. I'm looking for some people who can treat diseases and plagues if they spread among my caravan. I'm also looking for someone who's good at foraging for clean water & food. The caravan needs fresh supplies to get the most protection from Blackscour."
Venator Legatti
Venator sees Aerodus narrowing his eyes, but wonders what's wrong. He lifts his arms in confusion, one of them containing a small box. "What?"
Auren
Looking rather perplexed, Auren watched the bartender leave to go search for the innkeeper after another guest requested it. Why didn't he do it when I asked him to? he wondered with a glare at the offender's retreating back.
Sighing, he listened from the bar and quickly noticed that the general conversation in the building's main room started to cover some rather diverse topics. The young cleric had a bit of difficulty following everything being said, but before he could approach anyone for clarification, he heard a bell ring. There it is again. What does it mean? But with the barkeep gone, he had no one to ask about it.
Tilting his head to the side, he leaned his right ear toward where he thought the sound was coming from. He had decided that if he couldn't get an answer from one of the waitstaff, then he would simply investigate the matter on his own.
Rolling to determine the direction that the sound of the bell is coming from.

Aerodus Lurconarr Charthagnion
@Venator
Aerodus looks away. "Nothing. I just find it odd that there's another priest here."
@Lia
Aerodus turns to Lia. "I'm a ranger and I've lived in the wilderness for two years. I can help you out."
Venator Legatti
"Hmmm... You will see plenty of followers to Lady Luck in these days. The festival, you see! Anyway, is anything wrong in here? Did anyone find the innkeeper?"
He did notice that none of the employees so far recognized the box he is holding, so they must know nothing about it. The Innkeeper, then.
Lia Vantas
Lia perks up when Aerodus mentions that he can help her.
"In that case, my caravan's heading to Sandpoint and we need some help getting enough fresh water & food to last us for our stay. We've got room in the caravan for more people to hire on with us. How about it?" She offers.
Aerodus Lurconarr Charthagnion
Aerodus nods. "Sure. I was on my way to Sandpoint anyway. I'll help you out. But I think we should check around here first. The missing innkeeper and the like. Something doesn't feel right here."
Lia Vantas
Lia arches an eyebrow at Aerodus.
"Really? I thought it was just a time-keeping sort of bell. But okay, why not check it out?" She says, getting up from the table.
She looks over at Octavian & his companion.
"If you're really interested in hiring on with us, go to the caravan encircled outside. Ask for Tanya Reistar: she's the caravan master. She has the final say on hiring, firing & wages."
Aerodus Lurconarr Charthagnion
Before he leads, he shoots Novenus a pitiful look. One that says, 'Why are you friends with him?' Aerodus leads the way, both he and Lia heading upstairs, following Venator.

Jirani Shores
Jirani stays down stairs convinced that enough folks are making their way to the top floor. Looking over at Novenus the inquisitor maintains a friendly tone, Your friend seems the dour sort and you seem quite tired, have you been on the road long?
Jirani Shores
Jirani nods at this Yes I know the feeling. In my youth I sailed with my family. My father believed that a strict regiment of salt fish and tack bread with root vegetables was all a sailor needed to be strong. I know nothing of this but did find that after a few weeks of this I found food more a chore than a joy. I would offer to cook you something else but uh...I have no skill in this....I do have a ration of dried meat, cheese and bread if you truly want something else?
Lia Vantas
Lia shrugs.
"Why not just bust this sucker open? I'll pay for it."
With that, she attempts to force the door open.
Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
...unfortunately, all she accomplishes is she stubs her toe on the door.
"OWCH!" She starts hopping up and down, holding her foot.
Venator Legatti
Venator comes closer to the woman, whispering to her so whatever is behind the door could not hear it. "Now, I do think we're overreacting here, cause we saw no real sign that anything is wrong, so far." He keeps a look at the door, knowing that whoever was behind it could open it out of curiosity to see what is happening.
Jirani Shores
Jirani offers a broad grin to the man, Of course.
The middle-aged Garundi pulls a package out of his sack and pushes it at the worn out traveler.

Venator makes the universal silence gesture and swiftly moves outside, where a window to the bedroom should be.
Aerodus Lurconarr Charthagnion
Sorry, I'm late, guys.
Aerodus follows the cleric outside, knowing that something must be up. He follows Venator's gaze to the window.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Jirani Shores
Jirani scrunches up his face as the spice moves down his throat and into his stomach, This is the sort of thing that would drive a man to my Lady! Why do this to himself or others?
Andando Morte
Andando watches several people dart past him on the porch and turn the corner around the building.
"Remain here my dear." he says to Olivia, "There may be some mischief about."
With that he draws a Kukri, keeping it hidden under the folds of his cloak and rounds the corner after Venator and Aerodus.

Novenus "He likes it spicy, this is a 'mild' one at that, but when someone can get him to cook properly he's really good"
