Light, having already began walking over to the door to the captain's caving, begins making preparations by placing a small keg-like barrel beside the door. Then placing her hand on the door feeling nah it once more, before the others arrive. As they do she continues making preparations of her own among the vicinity. Thinking to herself all the while, 'this should make for a decent explosion,... Maybe one more?' then silently shrugging to herself nonchalantly. As the others begin heaving at the door she stands once more and attempts to help before setting her idea in motion.

The journal Kael was reading has an ever faint magic aura, an aura can also be seen upon the pair of slippers that were found.

The door strains under your combined effort. The bar itself creaking from the other side. Velania's falchion connects with the bar and through sheer strength, the door lifts and breaks open, bar and all.

Light filters into the room that was once darkened before. Skeletal remains of a body lay strewn about the room. A sobbing noise can be heard from under the bedsheets on the far wall. A child sized lump protrudes from under the covers, quivering. The child lowers the covers slowly at your arrival, a combination of fear and hope in his light blue eyes. His crying subsides, and he holds his arms out to you.

Mordrin stands by as Velania and Kael pry the door open. Excellent! That's one less obstacle to keep us from getting off this (literally) accursed ship! His eyes cut through the half light of the room and see the child pleading for help.

Light stumbles slightly having put her whole weight behind helping the others heave the door open. Having wanted to have a look for herself Light glances in at the child and then to to dead skeletal corpse, while feeling extremely bad for the child, entering the room like this without caution when there were hidden undead laying about was unthinkable.

The boy screams in pain as his flesh sears from Mordrin's channel. The boy calls out, "W-why are you attacking me?! Dad? A-anyone... Stop these bad people!... K-kill them!" The boy appears more frightened than before and is shaking vigorously now. He stands on the bed. A glint of hostility in his eyes.

A small metal creaking noise is heard from the walls, a helm and a greatsword that adorned the wall and a shelf as decorations now pull free from each and begin floating in mid air.

The child hops down from the bed with a light thump. The boy looks directly at Mordrin and smiles. "Please sir, throw your holy symbol overboard." Will Save DC14 Charm Person, if fail, make a opposed charisma check.

The Greatsword shines in a eerie radiance as it draws closer, floating over to Velania in the doorway and attacks.

Everyone needs to make a Will save DC14 against the charm person effect at the beginnings of their turns. Mordrin needs to make a second if he passes the first, but doesn't have to throw the symbol overboard if he passes the first. Velania gets a +5 on the save for just getting attacked.

Mordrin's eyes go distinctly dark as he senses a wave of magic flow over him. I think not, child. It would seem that you have been corrupted by the dark powers with that sarcophagus. I am sorry for the harm I may do to you, but this evil must be purged. He then draws his wand out of a pocket in his cloak, steps behind Velania, and lays a healing hand on her back. Don't leave us yet, Velania!

The spring muscles in his calves and thighs burst forward as rushes under the Greatsword into the cabin leaping off the ceiling and jabbing down at the face of the child with his ninja-to. He showed no compassion in his eyes.

Kael jumps over to the child and stabs him in the gut.

Amelia's attack hits the sword, but it just slides down the bloody blade appearing to not do anything.

The helm will attempt to place itself onto Kael's head.

The Greatsword lunges forward to where Velania was and slashes at Mordrin.

Just to make this clear Kael saw Light just shoot (And Miss) him correct? If so this may change his actions as that means Light is either mind controlled or a traitor. Also considering Kael is attacked wouldnt that auto break the charm?


Any act by you or your apparent allies that threatens the charmed person breaks the spell... So no, charm stays as Lightt hasn't been threatened/attacked by it or its apparent allies. For you, as you aren't charmed yet, it would not auto break if you successfully parried, you still recieve the +5. Though if you don't parry it would auto break due to grappling.

As Lightt's attack did not strike you, you wouldn't know since you are in a straight line from Lightt currently. She could of just missed it, though it was close, which it would be regardless.

She aimed at me with intend to do lethal damage and since the whole " Hit a person in melee combat if you miss thing " Doesnt exist, it would be hard pressed to think otherwise. All Im asking is if I see her. Kael isnt an idiot, far from it. As for the charm its sort of different. The Aura is clearly going off on the creaures turn, we just so be happening to make the saves at the beginning but the order of occurrences is still the same. This does nothing for Light but it should for say Mordrin because even if he would have failed, he just got hit by a floating greatsword. Which would have happened AFTER the charm effect would trigger.


Seeing as how you were facing the complete opposite direction from Lightt, no you do not see her, again it woundn't matter regardless since you are in a straight line from Lightt and since the child is eye level with you since it standing on a bed and your frame is bigger than the child's, there is no way to tell if she intended to shoot you. End of discussion. Also the "aura" will save is being made on your turns specifically. It is not on its turn, though as its action on its turn it can direct the "aura" at a specific individual. Meaning two saves. One on your turn, one on its turn if it so chooses. Also, no one has tried to knowledge this creature yet, so it may not even be an aura effect.

The is no facing in Pathfinder. and I agree no one has rolled knowledge on it, though that is no fault of mine. Fine then I know you are adding that to the game. Now, does it take any movement to stand on the bed/on another side or further in the room as to clear the way for someone else to get in here or is the room relatively small? Ah And can I parry the grapple attempt as that counts as an attack?


Im looking at this from a practical standpoint is all. Your not gonna take your eyes off an opponent that is standing right next to you and you previously struck. It's difficult terrain to get on/off the bed. The room is a 15x15 room. As the Greatsword has moved to where Velania was, which is at the door, people are going to have a hard time entering until the sword goes down. I'm gonna say no, as the attack has already struck you and he is simply latching on. Basically it's part of the claw attack.

Thats fine, though you inhabiting a 5ft square is constantly moving. As long as people dont suddenly get free passes at attacking you from behind and random sneak attack when you arent flanked/FF/Feinted. I guess I'll try doing my last parry and see what happens (Can't Riposte, already did that.)

Kael is cut by the claw and the child latches on.

He staves of the bite and then sees the kid in a new light.. that is quickly banishes as he is gnawing on him.

He then tries to quickly kick him off

You don't have to tell me twice!, Mordrin yells as he quickly backs away from the sword that is dripping with his blood. He raises his holy symbol and sends out a pulse of energy with a shout of fury.

And what the hell is with that "child" thing anyway?! Did he just try to eat you?!

Both the sword and the child appear to be effected by the channel again. You hear the sword make a popping noise, and the child grits it now immense maw in pain. Though they both continue to fight.

Mordrin:
You know that this creature is called a Cannibal Child. It is an undead that disguises itself as a child and lures victims in with its gaze attack. Which acts like a charm person spell. It will try to grab and devour flesh with its maw, thoughs that have the unfortunate luck for this to happen too also have a chance that they will experience wracking pains. You do know that the creature is particularly vulnerable to silvered weapons.


Half-Elf Cleric 3

Mordrin shakes his head in frustration as he realizes what they are fighting. He calls out to the others, Wait a minute! That thing isn't a child. It's an undead! Silver! If any of you have silver weapons, now is the time to use them! And avoid that thing's gaze, by the way. That's how it keeps trying to turn us against each other.

Hmm it appears Velania may have dropped... and Alabar has dropped as I've talked with him and he has things irl going on. That puts us down to 4 if that is the case. I'll still run Velania through this encounter however.

Also it seems like you adjusted the swords attack bonus up was that a mistake or did it's positioning suddenly change?


Yeah miss type, and yes you did escape, but that wouldn't put you out of the kids reach for the following turn. You would still be adjacent.

You said the bed was difficult terrain so that would mean that he wouldnt get two claws because my character couldnt equally get up to him. So at worst he would risk one attack rather than two. Kael wasnt going to sit there and try to parry is the reason. As CLEARLY people are having too much issue with whats outside and staying here when a monster can do too much damage is suicide/too risky. ESPECIALLY when said creature seems to roll nothing but 15+


You would still be adjacent... So he can full attack... The bed takes up a five foot square and he is standing in that square, your in the square adjacent... At the foot of the bed.

I still had actions after getting out of the grapple is what I was saying.. I wouldn't be at the foot of the bed on my turn. I'm saying he would have to hop off the bed.


You need to state that in your post, "If I escape, I five foot back." That's all it would have taken. Or "If I escape, I acrobatics away." I thought I did post you escaped but apparently Paizo ate it.
