I am just setting things up -connecting this thread as the Discussion Board. Feel free to start using it.

Berthold here!

A 2WF rogue with lots of skills, some trapfinding and a talent to hurl acid at opponents!

I'm going to drop a spoiler here and recommend you are good at trap stuff.

For those interested in the campaign setting, here's a link to some info on the 'nation' of Lastwall, with a jump to the Inhabitants (which means YOU).

Lastwall's inhabitants

The experimental map.

Please let me know if you can
* access
* edit
* move the images
* [optional] copy and paste more of the trees (I'm having trouble with that)

Also let me know if you simply don't like the idea of using a map that is editable by anyone. I can do all the mapping and post image links instead.

EDIT: it doesn't work so well on my iPad, even with going to spreadsheet view.
Let me know what you think.

Drakr here, planning a high AC damage sponge with hopefully decent damage output.

Is it ok if Drakr fishes from that bridge Oberon Viking?

Also I couldn't see any tree

I would guess you're on an iPad. When viewed from my iPad I couldn't see the images of the eight characters. Try switching to Desktop View which is a click available on the top left area somewhere.

Yes, you can try fishing, though wait till we have started Gameplay. =)

Ah cool. I'll give it ago. Desktop view that is, I didn't buy a fishing rod =D

Well it was a little tricky from the iPad. You may want to inspect that bridge I think i may have destroyed a little bit... Sorry

The bridge is easily repaired, though not from my iPhone it seems.
Hmm, this idea may need to be rethought...

Waiting to hear how others experience it...

I can access the map and move my character around ok. It'll do just fine.

Half Elf Paladin 2

Reporting for duty, I still need some more time to write down my background.

For now, make sure your Crunch is solid/good. You will have time to develop your character's personality and background as we go. I will spend time tomorrow helping people bring their character sheets up to scratch. We can't afford to miss any +1's in this game.

I will begin gameplay in about 9 hours. I'm keen to get the ball rolling whilst everyone is still excited about their new characters for a new campaign. Hopefully this will help us all to maintain a good momentum. I have mapped out about 9 encounters, and fully fleshed out (fluff and crunch) the first two. I have a longer story arc to follow, a nemesis, and some clues to drop for the next adventure. Here's hoping everyone enjoys it.

Male Dwarven Ranger

Pedro here. Tobacco spitting, Orc hating Dwarven ball of blades, and spiked balls. I'll check out the maps, and write more background tonight when I get back from the FB Game :-).

I see the map and the trees and the characters (I'm on a Mac), but I can't move my character. I tried cut and paste, to no avail...

Help!

Grand Lodge

Reporting for duty still have to change so I'm not a magician will be done in a jiffy.

K I have fixed him up and am ready to go. As for the map works perfectly for me.

Can I get a two handed barbarian pounder ready?
Haven't heard if i missed the cutoff.

Looks like OberonViking gave you the all clear to me.

Glad to see everyone coming onboard. This game is gonna be fun :) I've played with OberonViking before (in a different forum). He had some interesting restrictions on that game to but it was some of the best fun I've ever had!

But doesn't everyone want to play halflings with at least one level of rogue who were stolen from the Foundling Hospit and now belong to the Red Daggers thieve's guild in a city with low diving magic?!

Male Human Barbarian 3

Jobo the Barbarian reporting in.
Look forward to smashing things.

That is great - I'll provide plenty of things to smash.

It's okay. Don't panic. Whilst I'd like to think that the silence from the others means that the map works for them, I see that there are two of you who have some trouble with it.

I've had no trouble with it on my mac - in fact it was easier than with the PC.

Can you see the map clearly enough? I'd like to use it anyway, because I really like enabling player editing. If you could state what grid reference you want to move to, I'm sure someone will do that for you (I'll check regularly). Would that be acceptable to you?

Male Human Druid 3

I can also see the map just fine but cannot remove pictures or add them. I can add text. The copy/paste commands do not work for me. I'm also using a MacBook Pro.

I could click on boxes just fine before. Now, anything with one of the character portraits I cannot click on. Instead, a little box with three dots in it appears. The options inside that box don't seem to work, except for delete.

Every time I try to paste, it does not seem to flow into one of the boxes. Instead, it just appears in a random spot on the map at about four times the size of a normal box.

AC: 18 | HP: 19/19 | Init: -1 | Perc: +3 (PP: 13) | HD: 2/2d8 | Spell Slots: 1st: 3/3 | Inspiration: [_] | Saves: S: +2, D: -1, Co: +2, I: +1, W: +5, Ch: +2 | War Preist: 3/3 | Channel Divinity: 1/1

Sounds fine.

Hmmm, so we have at least three who cannot edit it. Perhaps an alternative is needed...

First, I'd like to see how you all feel about it after we've done some gaming with it. I don't want anyone to feel punished or left out because they cannot edit the map the same way others can.

Male Human Barbarian 3

Jobo can't work map. Maybe player has intelligence of Jobo.

I can drag the pictures of characters only rarely. Cut and paste don't work well either.

Drakr, I look forward to teaming up for some manly melee synergy. Feel free to get big too with my wand. A 2d8 enlarged big dwarf axe with reach can be fun.

Male Human Druid 3

Do you mind telling us how you add a picture into one of the boxes? I can delete just fine. I have a copy of my portrait on my desktop. I can paste it onto the board, just not into one of the little boxes.

Male Human Teacher/11 | HP: 30/38 | AC: 9, T: 10, FF: 10 | CMB: 5, CMD: 4 | F: 5, R: 4, W: 9 | Init: +2 | Perc: +4

When you click on an image, a box appears around it. At the top right is a drop-down menu arrow, where the cursor becomes a pointing finger. Just above that, the cursor should become a hand which will 'grap' when you click and hold. Drag to where you want and release.

It seems you can't copy/paste the images.

Insert/Image is available of the google.doc menu. It'll then prompt you to drag your image onto the pop-up window.

Slow internet speeds can really mess with this process.

I've used google docs for maps like this before, however the PCs were all just names typed into boxes.

Male Human Druid 3

That's how I've used them before, too. I was able to move the picture just fine following your directions. Thanks!

Male Human Druid 3

OK, my (correct) stats are now added to the spreadsheet for your review.

Also, I used a good portion of my character's money to buy 11 Cure Light Wounds potions. I figure that it represents some of the druids' supplies given to me to help with the mission. Let me know if that is a problem.

Cool 2d8+7 dmg sounds good the trade off being a -2 AC which wouldn't be a problem if I hadn't rolled really poorly for my 2nd level HP. =D I'm looking forward to smashing things to. I'm jealous of your cleave and hp's!

@Conner:Wow that is a lot of potions!!

Does everyone have cold weather gear, just in case?

Oh and please don't be offended OOC at Drakr's IC posts... I'm playing a Dwarf with 5 charisma.

That's fine, so long as you have accounted for the 550gp properly. My wizard charactere would've spent more than that on scrolls.

Half Elf Paladin 2

I can acces the map, edit it and move things around.
You said that it's fine to develop your background during the game, right?

Male Human Barbarian 3

Conner - Cure light scrolls are 25 gp.
A wand of cure light wounds is 750gp - 50 uses for 200gp more. We already have one but I learned you can't have too many. I would contribute to it if I hadn't already bought another wand.
I think I can do a little more damage than Drakr, but I predict I will need a lot more healing. :-)

AC: 18 | HP: 19/19 | Init: -1 | Perc: +3 (PP: 13) | HD: 2/2d8 | Spell Slots: 1st: 3/3 | Inspiration: [_] | Saves: S: +2, D: -1, Co: +2, I: +1, W: +5, Ch: +2 | War Preist: 3/3 | Channel Divinity: 1/1

This will be the first time I've ever played a straight (non-multiclass) fighter. I'm trying to get my AC as high as possible. I think I'll do a decent amount of damage but not as much as Jobo, no.

Female Undine Cleric / 4 || Init: +1 / HP: 23/23 // AC: 14 / FF: 13 / Touch:11 / Saves: F: +4, R: +2, W: +8

Going to buy some cold weather gear now that I see it's still winter.

Male Dwarven Ranger

Now that I have instructions, the map works fine for me.

Works for me also!

Male Human Druid 3

Conner quickly switched gear with some other druids once the size of the party was obvious and to account for the winter weather. He's still within the gold limit.

And thanks Jobo. I bought gear first and then got the potions to fill out the rest of my gold. It was more efficient to switch things around. It's still sinking in just how many of us there are.

That means I have a wand of Cure LIght Wounds, fully charged. So the other healer can keep the wand given to us by the town.

Just realized I'm the only small folk in the group :(

Sorry Jobo your post wasnt there when i began composing mine. Oh and with only a +1 to perception I can't make that check. I hope someone else does.

Male Human Barbarian 3

Sorry about ninjaing you. By the way, Lorelei let me know if Jobo gets too Herman Cain scary. I consider he has something of "crush" on an exotic half-elf when he hasn't gotten around too much. Obviously "near the end of the formation" was next to you.

Female Undine Cleric / 4 || Init: +1 / HP: 23/23 // AC: 14 / FF: 13 / Touch:11 / Saves: F: +4, R: +2, W: +8

Don't worry, I'll let ya know if Jobo starts freaking out Lorelei. :)

Male Human Barbarian 3

How can you not like an anxious to please barbarian with a mullet haircut and an obvious lack of social graces?
