d100 then if you make the roll.of 1-50 you get the option labeled D100 1-50 and from there follow what it says. If you look at the mirror directly you only get a will save and follow the made or failed save based on what you roll. DC23 or higher to pass. Essentially the D100 is for the indirect approach or certain choices specific to what's happening.
Gabriel of Havenshaw |
d100 of doom!: 1d100 ⇒ 70
Actually, the confussion was if I had to roll the d100 or skipp right to the Will save hehe. If it was like that, for the sake of moving things forward feel free to roll the will save yourself ^^

okay, I just didn't want to take away that aspect unless you were okay with it as it is entirely up to you each individually how your characters preform, act etc... that said, I'd also wanted to leave the mystery up as long as possible so please forgive me. It's exciting when others figure out a puzzle you(as DM),set up. So thank you for your patience
Gabriel manages to avert his eyes from and attacks the remaining mirror, shattering it. This time however, as you swing your sword into the reflective glass, you hear what sounds like an echo down a long hallway.
To anyone whom looks nowonderful sees the equivalent of a mirror'sites reflection into another mirror. The endless hallway effect. And at first the breaking glass doesn'the shatter. A ripple alike to what you would see in the water moving outward in all directions from the source of interruption emits from Gabriel's sword. Fast at first, then slowing at the edges, pausing a moment then continuing. The pause is when you hear the echo again and it's as if time slows to an almost complete stop. Slowly the ripple begins retracting again. It gains speed upon the return slamming into it's origin then shatters similarly to that of a normal mirror.
The sound of bones clatter to the central area of the floor along with three thumps, each heavier sounding than the last as Avdol, Zul and Elrosk join you once more.
"oh you know dear boy! Promises to be kept, lives to be saved..." says a high spirited older man.
...Your vision goes black...
"...this is hardly the time to joke-..."
The sounds of conversation echo off into the unknown distance and another embegins as if at a different time."...You must come back here one day, it will become a great advantage to you..." the voice trails off once more as you shake your head and open your eyes. You are in the same room, an old man walks past you and exits the door you know to be the entrance you came in. He waves a hand not looking good back and the sun shines in at your back behind the desk. The embodiment you currently are in seems unfamiliar, the voice seemingly rings and you are the passenger. Armored in very nice armor you look up once more, your body is directed to the mirror you'd just destroyed, you look up. Shadowyou is the figure you see, bright light basking about the fine edges preventing anything from being made out in detail in the mirror.
...you hear the droplet of water again and snap out of it. Once more in the room with your comrades you watch the glass shatter
Any items taken away from becoming locked up in the mirror is now returned to the spot beside where you land.
Lysanthir Lyndis |
"Well, welcome back." Lys sheaths her bow. "Everyone alright?" She offers her hand to Avdol and if they haven't gotten up yet to Elrosk and Zul.
Is rammy still at the one end of the room?
Avdol |
"OK, well it appears we have Elrosk now, before any other magic screws with us, I say we leave. Though I'm curious on how Elrosk got to this point, seeing how we needed the orb to get here ourselves. The mirror transported us to a jail of some sort if anyone is wondering."
Avdol will gather his things and also look among the bones for other items that they hadon't once owned.
Lysanthir Lyndis |
"True, perhaps there are more cursed mirrors in the tower, or other traps." Turning to Elrosk "You alright? Rammy is over there." She points to Rammy.
I'd go get it myself, but i don't know if I could lift that thing, or how he would react to me holding it.
Akari Murakami |
Akari walks over to Rammy and lifts it, proffering it to Elrosk as if he'd done him a favor. "Can't imagine how you'd lose such a thing, can see it a hundred yards away." He said, as he quickly examined, admired the monster of a weapon before holding it out for him.
Gabriel of Havenshaw |
Gabriel sitted in the floor in silent contemplation.
The turn of events -specially the lit room and the Pelor symbol- made him reconsider the nature of the tower.
"I... I cannot leave yet. I found something in the desk." says the warrior as he shows the hand-written paper "And there's my Lord holy symbol on its surface: part of the engraving, placed in the hilt of a sword crossing a tome. I don't think this is a mere wizard's tower."
"And... I've seen another vision of the past. The moment after the mirror shattered I... I was inside another man. A young man clad in the finest armor if ever seen, speaking with a kind old man who I-no, he- called Reginald. We were parting ways, talking of promises and lives to be saved. And how returning here one day would prove a great advantage."
"Inside this tower is hidden the truth or at least clues towards what's happening to our world. And I feel in my bones we'll also find help for our joirney."
Lysanthir Lyndis |
"I agree it feels like there is more to this place, it seems destined. The man in my dream said he's been waiting it seemed like for me, us."
She strides over to the desk and sits in the chair(if there is one). She puts the notebook she found previously on the desk reverently and pops it open to a page. She then pulls the chair close leans over the book and thinks. Fingers twirling through her lavender hair What have we missed, there must be something for us here. Why else would we have received those visions, why else would it feel like we should be here and all this stuff about those "old gods". seems there were more real than I thought. I mean how can a god lose connection with its creation, its a GOD a being with complete power over something."
Ren Ashbell |
Elrosk grabs his Rammy and places it in its holster. The silence ensues between the him and Zulu as they took appear deep in thought as well. The sun pouring in the window is never changing though you gain the sense that you can easily loose track of time in this room due to this.
"Elrosk didn't loose Rammy. Room take Rammy, or try to... Rammy strong"
His voice shows pride and kills the silence only momentarily. The chair you sit in is rather comfortable. Cushioned with exquisite quality, with the equally detailed desk you gather it was a room where much time was spent in the past. Peering over the pages in your journal there are no notes made on it'so pages.
Avdol |
"Gabe, we have a mission to complete. And I rather not let the town suffer any longer."
Advol turns and heads towards the door, patting Elrosk on the back as he does.
Akari Murakami |
"Gabriel, if you're inclined to explore this place I will accompany you. Too much has happened that we can't explain and if our world truly is in jeopardy then saving one town will not measure up to what we could find in here. We all seem to have had some sort of visions while in the tower. Something is going on in here."
And he looks over to Avdol and stares blankly. "We can split up of course, but who knows what we'll find down there?"
Lysanthir Lyndis |
While rummaging the desk for anything hidden Lys pops her head up for a moment, "We may need the orb to find whatever is left here, much like we needed it to. Find this room. But Avdol is right. Unless we find something soon we need to protect the village."
Ren Ashbell |
"A true dilemma indeed," Zul begins. "Perhaps we should return to the village? We could always return afterwards should it be decided to... Splitting up could prove beneficial, but we should be wise with whom goes where-"
"Elrosk and Rammy on team," Elrosk interjects while staring at himself in the reflection of a shard of mirror. Licking his teeth he continues. "Elrosk know Akari and Gabriel strong too... even with puny beat sticks" He then throws the shard down at the ground shattering it into more fragments before puverising it further into dust with 'Rammy'. "Me bored, let's go"
He gets to the door and looks back as though he forgot something of utmost importance and bringing his stout pointer finger to his chin... "bargh..." he says with a self satisfying smile, and he continues.
Lysanthir Lyndis |
Lys inspects the page that had the ravens feather on it. If there is nothing on the page she will mumble angrily "RAVENS feathers don't help anyone, at least not without another sign."
Gabriel of Havenshaw |
"You are right, Zul... I was blinded by the light of truth, we must finish our mission and help the villagers. Only after our job is done we should dedicate our times to explore this place."
Avdol |
As the group leaves, Avdol does a once over around the rooms. Picking up any bows and arrows and such from their previous encounter with the strange cult. "Got to be worth something I suppose."

Elrosk walks down the hallway and up the spiral staircase, making his way through the mage tower towards the exit. Zul walks along side his trusted companion and they talk much about where he went and what happened.
"Elrosk see something in hallway, when me make way towards it Rammy say 'no, it trap'. Elrosk was too late, then Elrosk end up in prison! Elrosk didn't even steal anything yet!" he finishes matter-of-factually.
"I see..." Zulu responds as his face resolves to that of one deep in thought.
As you exit the tower the sun cascades down through some low hanging clouds almost blinding you at first. What was left of a heavy dew resides still on the blades of grass and because of such you can see the path walked by the three men from earlier (the previous evening.) Birds chirp from among the treetops in joyous chorus giving an ambiance of a typical fairy tale. The journey traversing back through the forest was easier and judging by the markingsame in the vegetation, the others camemail through here as well.

should you wish to talk amongst yourselves and/or rp in any way feel free to
Nothing out of the norm for a trek through a forest happens upon your decent of the mountainside. As you near the town however, you catch the putrid smell of burning flesh pouring from the direction of the town. There are a few hundred yards before you reach the opening by the church from whence you'd all entered the forest. The sounds of a cackling fire had never sounded as eerie until you also picked up the sounds of crying and the aura ofor despair.
Should you enter the town and approach you would see there are roughly 20 villagers standing about a pyre centralized in the town's crossroads of sorts. There are some faces whom are missing and judging by what you see in the break of the flames, they'd most likely died somehow. The townspeople are shaken and are easily startled as you approach... they look worse for wear from last you'd seen.

Akari is ready to move on, unless engaged in conversation he will walk right on back to town silent as he reflects on what's happened.

Gabriel of Havenshaw |
Gabriel enters the town just to see what they were hearing from afar.
The weight of their mixed victory weighting him down he muttered "Oh Lord... we are too late."
He didn't knew what to do, what to say. This was as sad for him as for them, but he could have prevented it and instead they slept in the tower.
And so Gabe did the only thing he could: he closed the distance to the pyre and kneeled. And he prayed for these poor people's souls.
Avdol |
Avdol will ignore the crowd of people next to the pyre and approach the statue.
Placing the orb in the broken hand of the statue he recites the scroll that was found earlier.
UMD: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
After the scroll was used and the orb was back in it's rightful place. Avdol would turn to the group and drop the loot he gathered earlier at the statues base.
"Use these in any way you see fit, give them to the town if it so pleases you."
He walks over to Gabe and Lys.
"May your endeavors prove fruitful."
He bows slightly, dipping his head.
Ignoring Akari, Avdol will make his way over to Zul and Elrosk.
"Glad I could meet another gifted in the arcane, unless you wish to travel south from here, then our paths won't go astray just yet. I'm heading home, there is something I need to check. If your interested of course..."
Lysanthir Lyndis |
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Lys spends most of the walk back in silent contemplation, this tower, notebook, and sorcerer have more than piqued her interest.
"Oh Lord... we are too late."
Lys gives a comforting look, but at the same time says "It was the calculated risk we took. You had to have known they'd lose some before we could return"
Lys stands stunned at Avdol's intention to leave and says nothing. Any one really looking might notice slight emotional wounding in her eyes.
Ren Ashbell |
Avdol's actions prove fruitful as the orb is once again held by the newly fixed statue. Immediately each of you feel a surge of immense weakness overtake your body followed by the rush of adrenaline fueling it's vacancy. You feel a hand on your shoulder as a newly found warmth radiates through your body. As you turn however, you see no one and the touch dissipates. There is a moment that passes, like that akin to the silence before a large explosion, which gives it away followed by a surge of raw energy that burst into the sky from the orb. A small bead reaching outward and expanding to about a foot past the statue on all sides. It retracts a moment later though none other than each of you in the party appear to notice it. Soon, the density in the air drops. Storm clouds form blotting the sun and some of the villagers look up, silence spreads with only their silent wails as placeholders. Tiny streams secreted from puffy red eyes by most if not all of them as they watched unmoving.
Zul approaches Gabriel, "it is sad friend,... but truly you did more good than bad. While these people mourn they mourn today because of your actions. They did not have much of a future before that." comforting was not something he did all to often as it could be heard in his voice but the genuinity was definitely there.
Elrosk, seemingly uninterested with theach entiremail scene removes himself and stands under a tree after looking at the clouds forming above. Zul instead walks towards Avdol and with his usual smile, nods, "perhaps that is something we could arrange, at least to an extent"
A baseline cracks through the heavens, low in tone at first before excelling toward a higher pitch wrenching any attention away from its previous distractions. The clouds flash while occasional streaks of lighting rush towards distant areas. Above the skies are becoming darker hues of black with each passing second. Finally an overwhelming. BOOOOOM! thunders and the built up water particles converge enough to begin raining. Large droplets wash away the tears from the townsfolk as they just stand there united as one. Zul pulls the hood of his cloak over his head and begins walking towards the church. The pyre, having burnt for as long as it had been stays lit and will for some time judging by the heat radiating from it even at distances. A few moments pass and each of them begin walking back towards their respective homes, all that is, except, the mayor. He instead, approaches your group and offers you all into his home once more to discuss what had happened.
should you choose to accept his invitation once back at his humble abode...
The mayor retreats once more behind his desk, "I appreciate what you've all contributed in any way. But I must ask.... is it... over?" you'll notice neither guards are at their posts atagged the moment.
Lysanthir Lyndis |
Lys will follow the mayor back into his home "Its about to rain. So I assume at least you fields will return to fertility. The creatures that beset you, well, we will have to wait until night."
Avdol |
Avdol follows Zul to the church. As he walks, he brings out Shadrazar and feeds him a treat.
Gabriel of Havenshaw |
Even afteer Zul's words, Gabe can't shake off the feeling that they could have done more... if only they were better prepared...
Gabriel accepts the invitation and accompanies the rest "We can't know for sure. But as Lys have said, we will wait until the night." he says to the mayor
Ren Ashbell |
"Hello,..." Zul begins walking again but dissipates into an arcane smoke-like energy and reappearing next to you. He sounds no different than he normally would, but leans in towards you none the less, "I can't seem to find the father of this church. He is not here anymore it would seem."
The old mayor sighs deeply, both worry and some satisfaction revealed upon his face. The sound of the raindrops hitting the window fill the room with its ambiance. He looks to Lysanthir with as much a smile as he could muster, "I thank you, and your companions... This was no easy task for any bu---". Lightning streaks across the sky which casts its bright white light inward through the windows. Fog is becoming more intense as well making vision impared.
In that moment the door bursts open and in the doorway a sodden Amber. Her silence is almost able to overtake the ambiance of the storm itself; clearly broken in terms of emotional distress. As the flash from the lightning dissipates and each of your eyes re-adjust to the lighting in the room the details of her face are easier to make out. Her eyes look hollow and her face pale. She just stands there a moment shock having taken hold of her now. A stumbled step forward, then another like that of a baby taking her first steps she struggle to break from her shock.
In a whimpered tone you can make out, "...he's... dead..."
Strong gusts of wind billow inward while the lightning clashes with the heavens. Pent up, border-line torrential, curtains of storm press onward without care outside the canopy of the house. Sudden bursts that come and go blow water inwards just barely into the doorway Amber stands in. The mayor hurries over to her side, breaking from being stunned by the sudden intrusion.
"Amber?... Who?... Who's dead?" The mayor asks frantically as worry fills his face and voice. Amber just looks in the direction of the town that you'd entered by. Seemingly in shock and completely drained she remains quiet shaking ever more. Vision is obscured beyond 15 feet and even then fine details are a challenge. Large raindrops clack about leaving barely any room for opposing noise in an immediate vicinity. Moments pass as the mayor tries to calm Amber and put her at ease some. Moments become minutes that seem like seconds before the sound of metal on metal grows louder with each step made nearer. A shadowy illumination gains details all the while as another figure approaches in the rain, seemingly dragging a body. At first the arousal of impending danger lingers in your minds, before you notice that you recognize the tattered robe... The figure dragging the corpse, however, you do not recognize. Up steps an elven-like woman clad in a forest green cloak bearing an elegant golden trim. She gives a look of compassion towards the girl before stopping before any words. Looking over her shoulder she watches as another figure makes his way toward the mayors house. Resting the lifeless body on the floor she stands now, no taller than 5' 8", "Hello," The woman would dip her head slightly, the hood still pulled up hiding her features. Then reaching up to lower the hood she would also raise her head once more, "I am Aleria Ravengale, of the Darkwood distantly south-west of here."
Her cloak while being weathered and wet on the outside is perfectly dry on the inside. She is a lean, blonde woman, with steel-blueish eyes. She wears a green cloak that encompases her. when or if she removes the cloak you see that she wears chain mail armor. On her back she carries a Darkwood composite longbow, Long sword, long spear, and backpack. A quiver of arrows rests at her hip.
Looking over her shoulder now as if awaiting another pressence you note that only the rain answers to her stare for a moment before another figure walks in behind her...
And thus, enters, Raaf
One night, while she was sleeping, one of those jealous decided he was done being ridiculed by such a young girl. He would have nothing of it, not that he wanted to kill her perhaps, but maim one of her arms useless. He'd snuck in through the window of her home, and as he was about to finalize his plans her father came bursting through the door his weapon drawn. The man clashed with her father, swings of swords, clashing, and bloodshed would stain Aleria's dreams for years to come. Her mother came rushing in in hopes she could rescue her daughter, freeing her from this room and then escape to safety. Not all faiytales have happy endings though...
Essentially you know she was a amazing archer and her parents were killed in-front of her. The story having been heard far and wide might have reached your ears. There is more to her background as well which if you'd like to read I would be more than happy to accommodate. :)
Avdol |
Raafe |
The other figure approaches the doorway and steps though without a word. He lowers his hood, allowing his long blond hair to fall loosely around his shoulders. The tips of which are wet from the downpour outside. Taking off his gloves he then pulls out a small canister from one of his many pockets. Twisting it open, he pinches a bit of the substance inside of it between his forefinger and thumb and pushes it into his mouth. Closing the canister and placing it away, the man closes the door and rests himself against it, folding his arms and looking about the room with a calculating expression. His eyes meet the mayors and before the mayor can ask he replies, "Raaf... Not from around here..."
Gabriel of Havenshaw |
When Amber enters, Gabriel can only hold her trying to comfort the woman "I'm sorry Amber... I... I can't know how are you feeling now, but I can assure you he is in a better place now... it's the only relief I can provide."
When the steel-clad woman enters carrying the lifeless body, Gabriel adopts a defensive stance. Her name means nothing to him...
"I don't recognise your name, but I do know the man you have dragged here. What bussiness bring you to this desolated lands?"
And then enters Raaf. If the woman's arrival alerted him, the chin covered and plenty armed man only creates more suspicions. His was a strange attitude, and Gabriel remembered the lessons his grandfather taught him... the ones about Pelor's everlasting crusade against undeath... why this man evocked such memories? he wondered.
But the sun-praising warrior was tired, tired and sad... and he simply relaxed waiting for an explanation.
Deciding that greeting them is the most appropiate thing, Gabe walks to the woman and extends his hand"It's been a long, sad night... and your arrival worried me. I am Gabriel of Havenshaw, may the Sun always shine on your side. "

Lys warily smiles one hand in her alchemist pouch the other sliding through her hair to make sure it is not in her face. she welcomes the newcomers as Gabe did "Hello, I'm from Lysanthir Lyndis I come from Little Brook." threading the line between hostile and general curiosity she continues "what brings you two here, with him?
Raafe |

Raaf looks at Aleria then back to the group rolling his eyes slightly. "Well lets get the hard part outta the way... That man... well, he was less of a man when we first saw him. Mangy fur, muscular body, snout not unlike a mastiff. Two others were with him, same look about them, but they ran off when they saw us. I took the shot with my crossbow as this one here charged at us. When he fell, I placed another shot in his heart to make sure he wouldn't get up again. That's when he reverted back to what you see now."
Pause conversation for Amber sob, lol
"At first I considered Lycanthropy, or a Shifter, but something still felt a bit off with that assumption. So we, or rather Aleria carried the body while I tracked his trail back to this town. Figured someone in the town would know who he was... and we were right... apparently..."
Raaf opens the door slightly and spits out a brown liquid from his mouth before closing it and resting on it once more.
Ren Ashbell |
The woman in kind greets you, "hello Gabriel of Havenshaw. While i can see why you have suspicions given the situation, my business is personal" she'll look towards the lifeless man whom she drug here, "As Raafe said, he was attacked in the woods by a beast. Once slain it morphed into this man. I simply didn't want this corpse to go unclaimed... no one deserves that fate.". Looking back towards Raafe with a look of mixed feelings before continuing; she all but crinkled her brow searching for the words to say what she had in mind. Running a finger through her hair as she tucked it behind her ear she looks to Gabriel, "for what it's worth the two others seemed to have good judgement and ran before Raafe could get a shot off."
The mayor's stare was one of an overwhelmed senior. Stumbling on his words proved only how eloquent Aleria's were. Making a nod to gesture his thanks to Gabriel he would approach Aleria, grasping her hands in his and shaking them giving hello and thanks for her service. Turning towards Raafe he'd inquire, "Raafe huh?..."
Knowledge Local: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25
A glance of contemplation and a few wordless mumble's come out as he stares Raafe down. "ah, yes. Quite the mix of company today..."
Elrosk looks to you now, [b]"we heading out early.once rain stops. You coming too?" the sound of rain echoes in the halls now. Peaceful yet ominous.
Amber begins hyperventilating which takes the mayor's attention once more. Walking over to her she shows signs of struggle. Not wanting to be touched or approached, she didn't appear willing to accept anything anyone was saying in her current state of hysteria. "no one can blame you for feeling this way my dear... but he made a choice and it got him here... he couldn't go around attacking people forever." clearly Winsten had chosen to take the blunt route to try and get through to her. Fighting him at first he forced her into a bear hug from which her muffled wails continued a few minutes before he walked her into another room and her exhaustion caught up with her. Closing the door behind him as he returned to the conversation. "in any case, thank you for bringing his body back" Winsten says with some relief.
Raafe |
Raaf looks about the rest of the group that is gathered in this room. "So what are all of you doing here? Looking for handouts?" Raaf says half jokingly.
Akari Murakami |
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Looking right past whatever was in that perception check as if it wasn't there at all, Akari pays close attention to the sudden and gloomy exchange between Mayor Winsten and Amber. His thoughts silent and expression serious.
When Aleria and Raafe enter the room, a shock jolts down his spine at their silhouettes coming through the door and he immediately reaches for his weapon and grips it tight with intent, but hesitates and watches as Aleria removes her hood and introduces herself.
The grip on the hilt of his sword does not relax, but the tension in his shoulders eases and his brow curls in tight as his gaze very deliberately and noticeably examines Aleria head to toe as if trying to figure out what in the nine hells she could be before he finally does release the hilt from his grip and let his arm fall to his waist as his gaze rests on her face. A note of careful curiosity edging into his expression now that gives no acknowledgement to Raafe's own introduction afterward.
If Aleria returns his gaze at all, he will shy away from it after a brief, embarassed moment in an attempt to remain polite. But will look again even seconds later, unable to keep his eyes off her for long. In which case the cycle would repeat. And if she does not, he will adopt a contemplative expression.
At Raafe's last question he would finely turn to the man and speak. "I'm sorry, who did you say you were?"
Raafe |
Raaf's eyes narrowed at Akari's question. "Is he that unaware or is he being coy...?" Raaf pauses for a moment to decide how he should react. The man before him was clearly guarded, what made him so jumpy was unclear, but Raaf settled on the resolution that he just doesn't know any better. Most likely a victim of circumstances. Raaf finds a familiarity with his current assumtion. He steps forward and extends a hand to the man. "Raaf... and you are?"
Ren Ashbell |
Aleria would acknowledge Lysanthir with a warming smile and a nod. "I merely met him on my travels. We simply traveled here, more-so because I wanted to deliver the body from where his tracks led." Turning her head just so she was able to make eye contact with the mayor she would allow. A few moments for processing what shed said to take place. "While it is true also that I've met him prior to this on multiple occasions this was by chance.she explains in a endearing tone of voice.
--------------------------------
Aleria appears both capable and very aware of her surroundings at all times. She purposely makes eye contact with each of you not out of challenge but as if she were measuring the situation she'd walked in on. "staying is not my intention, and I've no problem with the rain, in fact, I prefer it. If we're done here I've some business to attend to" she finishes with a smile as the gale forces whipped the rain about effortlessly outside, bending trees to and fro. She would bow her head to the dead man in silence for a brief moment then look up to both notice and meet Akari's intent stare. "you know,... it's rude to stare, though I'm pretty used to it by now." judgingredients by how she says it is as if the statement had been practiced and said over many times. No inarticulate emotion was used in conjunction with adding to her statement, only her casual prideful look and determination which she held when she wasn't speaking.
The mayor looks to the others now, "the storm is pretty strong right now. For the time being I see no reason you should feel the need to go unless you'really in a hurry?
A part sight, part smile broke on her face at the old man as she side-glanced him. "sadly yes, time is of importance to me right now. and in saying so she would step closer towards the door casually.
Akari Murakami |
Akari's skin initially blushes but he then takes a step forward and probably has not looked so serious in his life. "Is it rude now, to admire beauty when it chooses to show itself to you?"
"If I am wrong in believing otherwise, Aleria Ravengale, then believe me that being rude was not my intention."
If she hasn't already left, he will add. "My name is Akari." Then after a brief pause, "Remember the name."
Gabriel of Havenshaw |
Something about Aleria had intrigued Gabe from the start, but his alertness and the recent event had masqued it as simply alarm.
Now that the presentations were made and the warrior of the light was calmed, he felt it again. Gabriel observed her as she spoke, analizing her gestures and features.
And then it clicked. "You are an aasimar..." he muttered to himself "I... I've never met another one, least one of such a pure blood."
He had an urge to ask her, to find out if she knew their reason of being. Why the Gods blessed us with their essence? Why me?... Why her? he thought.
Not knowing what to ask or how to do it, he simply asked her "Lady Aleria... how old are you in truth?... Are you... Are you too a heavenspawn like me?"
Raafe |
"Asking a women's age so brazenly..." Raaf shakes his head slightly. "No I'll wait until the storm passes. Then who knows, I'm more of a wanderer these days."
Gabriel of Havenshaw |
"My intention isn't to be rude, boy. I got my reasons for that question... I have spent most of my life watching your kin wither away. Friends, family, everybody I've known during my youth died of old age before I fully reached maturity." explains Gabriel with a sad look in his eyes.
"I have been alive for 70 years, and I never thought I would find another one of my kin... maybe even one from my time."
Gabriel fully turns to Raafe before continuing "Lysanthir, Avdol, Akari and I started travelling North because of the words of an Old Preacher: "The world is forever changing, and while we were not there to see it with our own eyes, we must pass on the memories of those whom died shielding us from seeing such truths. It is very likely the world may need to call on a new generation of heroes to stand where others cannot once more. Should our history have it right, it has been a thousand years since the last great war. The prophecies speak of the apocalypse coming again at the fall of the great statues...
First the statues will begin to crumble one by one,
Second, the earth will shudder
Third, the gates will open to all...
Should that happen, many will be doomed"
"I felt the truth in his words, I didn't knew why... I thought maybe it was a signal from my Lord, speaking to me through that Doomsayer, shining his light upon the path I had to walk." his hand goes to his hoy symbol, and unconsciously Gabe starts playing with it
"I doubt there will be more than ten people outside of my family who even remembers my Lord's name... but we saw the Holy Grave, and his symbol was depicted inside the Wizard's tower... And the visions... I've been having them in my dreams since we started our travel. Some of them we found them to happen as I saw them... some of them I hope we can prevent. But still I don't know what is going on."
"Your appearance here, I don't think is mere coincidence... I do believe the Gods, Ancient and New, are trying to move their pawns in a chess game so immense that the whole world is at risk. We are their heroes. Their blades and shields... but we are on the dark, and you may have answers so we can understand."

"... boy huh?" Raaf will stand there just chewing away, his eyes never leaving Gabe.

Aleria's advance to the door stopped as a genuine smirk turned smile crossed her face, growing as she turned and faced Gabriel and the others. Seemingly un-phased by Akari's comment, she would look intently towards Gabriel and remain quiet for moments longer. There was a tenseness to the air which, at it's peak, Aleria chose to speak once again.
"It is fine Raafe, it seems his eyes are keen" She says kindly accepting his manners. Her eyes stayed on Gabriel however, and she began speaking in another tongue. As she did, her accent and voice spoke a language of their own just by the tone it gave goosebumps to those listening.
"Keep wary that anyone could be listening dear Gabriel of Havenshaw. To get straight to the point, If what you say is true, then it's more urgent I get to my destination." she takes a step closer and the smile drops, "I was approached by an older wizardly man, he gave me a vision of a town I'd never seen before and said I would find answers there."
The cackle of thunder and it's visualization of lightning collaborated in breaking the silence from outside. In the distance it's echos reigned on. Inside however, stood a very serious Aleria, "If there is no more, I wish you safe travels, that we may meet again, Freya be with you"
