Kiril Hoxha |

On bardic inspiration: The creature can wait until after it rolls the d20 before deciding to use the Bardic Inspiration die, but must decide before the DM says whether the roll succeeds or fails.
Rolled a 17, so I'll save it.
Kiril swings for goblin 'A's skull with his maul. "Beast person!?"

No mix up, I attacked Grinley with a Zombie because he entered the room before Brunar. And don't be mislead by the placement of the tokens, we are not keeping track of exact positions, only representing who is in the room

round 1 wrap up
Flint manages to beat the drum with one hand while expertly wielding a blade in the other.
Kiril smashes a goblins head, but the thing stays on its feet somehow
Kayne darts into the fray, leaving his ass behind in the care of Sandy.
With a quick thrust the man stabs through a goblin zombie with little effect.
Grinely is startled by the attack and flings the flame in his hand at the zombie which burns it badly
Finally Brunar enters the room swinging for the hills and the zombie that Kayne just stabbed and Grinley just burned
Zombie C might be dead, well, deader now, the damage that took it to 0 hp was 8, so the save it needs to make is DC 13

Well, as long as Sandy's covering my ass, I guess I can do what I want.
Taking advantage of the group's control of the battle, Kayne backs up from the zombie he'd attacked and unleashes an eldritch blast.

Flint of Iron |

Flint manages to beat the drum with one hand while expertly wielding a blade in the other.
Well I am multi-talented
"You have tusks!" Flint shouts back to Kiril, thinking his logic to be self-evident.
Seeing Brunar unable to drop an already damaged zombie, Flint rolls away from his goblin and over to the dwarf. "Not like that, like this!" he says, coercing the dwarf toward the goblin he had been fighting, and assisting him.
Brunar, attack with advantage to your to-hit

Kiril Hoxha |

Kiril starts to look for more targets--then realizes the zombie didn't go down. "Hells!" he curses, and hammers down on the zombie's skull again. "Stay dead!"

Hey now halfling! I hit the zombie hard, it just didn't want to die again ... :-)
Brunar smiles and nods, "Aye! Thanks for thee advice Half ... FLINT!" (Bad Dwarven manners Brunar is working on), and then swings at the zombie directly in front of him (Zombie B) determine to end its after life.

Advantage Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Brunar's mighty swing connects again and black ooze splatters but will that be enough to knock this "weeble wobble" down?

Generic Dungeon Master |

Round 2…
Grinley produces another flame and hurls it at one of the remaining zombies. There is a noticeable
*whoosh*
as some bit of garment still clinging to the goblin’s belt goes up in flames scorching the undead
Kiril swings his weapon overhead for a power smash , and lands a perfect blow that carries through the goblin’s head crushing the zombie into the ground for good
Zombie A cannot save vs 27!
Brunar lines up a swing at the third zombie, after it has been badly burned by Grinley, leaving a huge gash. The blow sends the zombie into a spin, and when it stops its fist are flying
Spinning almost like a top the zombie comes close to Brunar
Melee Slam: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Round 3...
Brunar is captivated by the spinning zombie, and is slow to realize the thing is not done by a long shot. The creature spins around one more time and brings its fist upward aiming for the dwarf's head
Melee Slam: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Even though the zombie seemed to get the drop on Brunar this moment, the dwarf was ready to pull his head back before the small fists could hit him again
The zombie won the third round initiative, and missed his attack. It is the player's turn now
Flint - takes 4 damage

Eldritch Blast: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Flint of Iron |

Flint continues to harass the final zombie, trying to give Brunar an opening. "Did that dwarf just throw fire?!" he says, pointing an amazed finger at Grinley between kicks and ducks against the zombie.
Brunar, take advantage again to your next attack roll.

Kiril Hoxha |

Kiril stares at the flattened zombie a moment to make sure it doesn't get up--then turns and golf-swings at the remaining goblin zombie.

Zombie Save vs DC 15: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
The blasted and pummeled zombie spins through the air, and miraculously lands on its feet, upright. The creature shrugs and starts moving back toward the party
Brunnar has an opportunity, in round 3 to see if he can take down the last Zombie, and then if it is still standing I'll roll initiative for round 4. I sort of was a bit confused about the way to do zombie saves, but I looked into it, and yep, each separate attack that takes the zombie to 0 hp or below triggers a separate save
Flint - takes 4 damage
Grinley - takes 2 damage
Zombie A – takes 16 damage
Zombie B – takes 3 damage (19)
Zombie C – takes 25 damage, drops to 1 HP

ADV. ATTACK: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
DAMAGE: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Hmm, maybe one more round?

Grinley |

Grinley patiently waits for the melee types to cut the zombie down. A bead of sweat forms on the meek dwarf's brow when he sees it refuses to die. Almost somewhat feebly, he tries to toss a small flaming sphere at it.
Produce Flame on zombie

Round 4…
Seizing the initiative the zombie lurches at Brunar
Melee Slam: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
The small fists of the zombie bash harmlessly against Brunar’s armor
Grinely is baffled by the seemingly unstoppable nature of this strange undead creature, but then again he knows the power of a good fire to reduce anything to ash, eventually. Summoning forth another small ball of flame, Grinely heaves it at the zombie. The fire singes the zombies chest releasing a foul odor
Zombie Save, DC 13: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
When the smoke clears the Zombie is still standing, for a moment, and then shrugs, and mumbles
It’s a fair cop
And collapses into a pile of burnt, broken and blasted limbs

Kiril Hoxha |

Lol <3
"Vitheras f!$+ing tear them apart for eternity, three--THREE goblins. We need a Godsdamned pit to throw them in instead, this is f#*%ing ridiculous. At least the skeletons just fall apart..." Kiril's angry shouting degrades into frustrated mumbling as he steps over the zombie corpses and searches the room.

Grinley |

Grinley notices that the halfling Flint took a great wound and could use some help mending it.
"Flint, I can help heal that."
Provided that Flint does not refuse aid, Grinley will cast cure wounds on him -- no need to roll as my ability modifier alone will heal him fully.

Flint of Iron |

Flint gives a firm nod at the fallen zombie. "Good. There, see? That's how you do it proper. Just stick by me, Brunar and- oh, thanks- and you'll learn how to do proper battle with threats like this!"
Flint says all this to Brunar in a way that implies the halfling had done the killing blow himself. He only barely acknowledges Grinley with a vague thanks mid-sentence while speaking with Brunar.
The zombie that will never die might have to be one of Flint's first compositions. It will include a lot of drumming.

Brunar Battlemender |

As a member of the Clergy, Brunar is making an attempt to be more ... diplomatic. He smiles at Flint but red in the face, "Aye! I thank ye for the instruction on how to kill goblin zombies Flint but they seem to be tougher than I have read 'bout or is that for all zombies you have fought?"

Flint of Iron |

Flint's interest in Brunar already diminished, he looks at Grinley while answering Battlemender offhandedly. "A few... Hey, was that fire? Neat. That'll probably come in handy!"
He then calls out to the group of women. "It's safe now. Come on and get out that map again!"

Grinley |

Grinley nods. "I have not seen or encountered undead before. They look horribly wretched. Such a perversion of the natural life cycle. Burning them to ashes seemed a fitting way to deal with those unholy creatures."
While the rest of the group begins to move on, the unnerved little dwarf, places his hands on one of the stone walls and breaths deeply a couple times. "Cold", he mutters to himself.

Gwendolyn Wulfenhelm |

Gwendolyn moves into the room and brings the map to Flint.
Well, from what I was told, I think there is a secret door in the south wall here that leads to a maze. The maze goes around this room and ends at a small room to the north. Hmmm, that’s strange. Seems like there was a passageway I was told went to the east, but then nothing else was said. I don’t think that it was explored by the previous group.

Kristyd Strakeln |

Kristyd moves up next to Gwen, and points her finger into the map.
Looks to me like, if this room is a sign, then all the goblins that were killed by the last group and left behind are probably now zombies. Sort of what you hear is one of the curses associated with this place. If we go looking in this maze we might just find more of these things wandering around in there. And I doubt there is any treasure or any clues to the missing princess in here either. I say we go back to the main passageway and look for places that were not already explored.

Brunar Battlemender |

"Aye, I agree! Never like them mazes!" Brunar follow directly behind Kiril.

Flint of Iron |

"Yeah, I guess." Flint says without much interest.
Then he thinks about it a moment and narrows his eyes at the walls around him. "I guess..." he says, less certainly.
"It would probably be a waste of time... Nothin' would be hidden in that maze that would be at all interesting... And we've got better things to do I guess....... .... ....."
Just who is he trying to convince?

Kayne Aetherax |

"A maze seems like the perfect place to hide something valuable. Difficult to navigate and would easily make explorers give up, leave after they made their way through it once without thoroughly investigating." Kayne slides his rapier away and folds his arms. "Again, I'll let you meaty warriors lead the way in the end, but it would be a shame if we missed anything."

The Palace of the Vampire Queen, level 1
Day 6; Wednesday, approximately 9:40 am: It is morning, the nineteenth day of Mergunum, the last month of the twelve month calendar year (the beginning of spring time)
Gwendolyn, Kristyd, and Sandly move back to the main North-south running twenty foot wide passageway, while the rest of the heroes follow mumbling various suggestions about where to go and what to do.
Using her staff as a focus, Sandy calls forth a simple light spell, illuminating the metal band on the top of the staff and holds it high above Gwendolyn’s shoulder
WME Check?: 1d12 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5

Kristyd Strakeln |

As the three female dwarfs come up behind Kiril, Kristyd looks to the north.
Look she says pointing Another pair of these hug doors, do you think this passageway just keeps going on and on into the mountain?

Brunar Battlemender |

Brunar moves up and follows Kiril with some space. He does not want to get too comfy with Kiril and wants to give him enough area to use his weapons effectively, "Aye, we shall!"

Kayne Aetherax |

Kayne follows as always, keeping an eye on the areas they pass through and a hand on Alighieri's lead. We shall indeed find out more about this dungeon and its secrets. Everything it has to find will be mine.

Flint of Iron |

Flint follows along, dogging at Kiril's heels for the most part. As they travel to the location the half-orc had picked out (leaving the curiosity of the maze behind), Flint keeps dropping pace to share a story with Grinley. He rambles, his volume rising with excitement at the good parts, and falling again when he passes by a door or split in the hallway to try and keep generally quiet.
"So we find this secret door with all of these weird, metal loops, right? And there is this... Chest? I think there was a chest. An elaborate thing trapped with dire things indeed, probably, and once the knife-ears that used to travel with us, before disappearing into the fogs like some of the others mind, this is the one Kiril thinks was a woman but wasn't I believe, checks it out we find this weird, puzzely treasure. The box itself! It didn't appear to be locked but was some kind of device meant to trick and hide. He and Kayne fiddled with the thing and MORE treasure fell out of it... Along with a bunch of centipedes! We were covered! Everyone else panicked while I took my time swatting the creatures off of their clothes while they clubbed themselves. Kayne was throwing strange vapors everywhere and I half thought he was going to douse the gnome in the face with it! He didn't. The gnome is gone now too. I'm not sure when he vanished.... Poor little guy..."
Is that the end of the story? Maybe! Or maybe drawing steel and following immediately behind the half-orc into the new room just meant this is a pause.

Generic Dungeon Master |

Kiril shoves the door, which swings open easily with a slight sound of stone sliding on stone, and then looks into the chamber beyond
It is empty
Sandy has her back to Kiril and is staring toward the huge doors to the north which are just at the limit of her ability to see at all

Kiril Hoxha |

"Well this ones empty," Kiril declares aloud, turning and heading towards where Sandy's pointing. "Yeah? Wood? Let's go see."

Brunar Battlemender |

Brunar shrugs and turns to follow Kiril but this time he stands next to Sandy with his axe and shield at the ready. But remains quiet to not draw any attention because of excessive noise.

Generic Dungeon Master |

Kiril turns away from the empty chamber and passes Sandy on his way to the north. Meanwhile, Flint is just finishing a story about a strange treasure and giant centipedes.
When Kiril comes right to the doors he waits for the light to be brought up a bit closer
The doors are huge beyond reason. Each door stands nearly fifteen feet in height, and is easily eight or nine feet wide. They appear to be made out of solid wood, or perhaps wood pieces fastened together with considerable craftsmanship. The surfaces of the two doors are plain, and they are banded with brass strips each a foot wide and spaced just two feet apart for the full length of each door. There are two large rigs, made of iron, one on the center of each door. It is nearly impossible to see through the small gap between the doors in the middle, but with the light shining close you can see that a bar is placed across the doors on the other side. It is not a large bar, and it might be easily dislodged with a thin blade such as a rapier, or a slim but long dagger.
