Reflex DC 19: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Maelodakh manages to twist and drop to avoid much of the frigid blast, the hairs in her ears and nose tickling her beneath her skin, a fearful rime covering half her side.

Day 8, morning, turn 53
Hallister spins and flattens himself against the wall as the thunderous blast sweeps through the passageway.
Miagnik leaps and extends both hands outward sending a sheet of flames over the heads of Rownig and Windel. The flame meets the wave of icy waters and fills the passageway with billowing clouds of steam. The sudden change in pressure knocks the dwarves off their feet, but at the same time protects them from the worst of the blast.
Miagnik, unable to shield himself falls unconscious to the ground.
Maelodakh throws her arms up in front of her face, but is shoved back and off her feet by the death blast of the Drowned maiden.
Windel and Rownig are caught in a combination of icy water, negative energy and waves of heat from the flames springing from Miagnik’s outstretched hands, but they suffer little from the experience.
Windel rolls to his feet quickly and channels the healing power of his faith. His hope is to save Miagnik, if it is not too late. Miagnik remains unconscious, for the moment, but there is still color in his skin, and he is breathing.
Meanwhile…
Atharessa and Stephanie follow Moralane as she races away from the blast. Reaching the intersection, Moralane finally stops and turns around to face Atharessa and Stephanie as they run to catch up with her. But Stephanie abruptly stops, and Atharessa nearly crashes into her. Stephanie watches in horror as one after another a multitude of arrows pierce Moralane’s body, fired from somewhere to the north. The dwarven girl’s expression, a smile of relief, is frozen on her lips as she collapses right in front of Stephanie.
Stephanie hears a voice from somewhere to the north yelling,
It is them, Krrthin, the looters, I told you I heard a noise coming from this way.
The map will be updated tonight. Please roll new initiative dice. Your party has been found by the Band of Goblins lead by Krrthin the Mad
Goblin War Band Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Miagnik is unconscious at 0 hit points, all of his NL damage has been removed, and he is stable. Maelodakh takes half damage from the blast, and Hallister takes none, but is still injured. Hallister’s, Windel’s, Rownig’s and Maelodakh listed injuries have been adjusted for the Healing surge of Windel’s channel.
Rownig – takes 2 (NL) and 17 damage

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Hal stepped out from where he'd taken cover, cold steam rising from him but no worse for wear. He was just about to open his mouth to give Maelodakh an ear full for not retreating when he realized there was still danger.

Miagnik |

Miagnik's eyes slowly opened and he groggily moved his head to one side. The chilled floor was uncomfortable to lay on, but he didn't think he had the strength to stand at the moment.
"Ugh... did we... did we make it?"

Windel Warhaven |

Miagnik's eyes slowly opened and he groggily moved his head to one side. The chilled floor was uncomfortable to lay on, but he didn't think he had the strength to stand at the moment.
"Ugh... did we... did we make it?"
"Let's hope so, or else your afterlife has a twisted sense of h'mor...wakin' up to a bunch o'dwarfs." A big grin crosses his face.

Hallister Silverspike |

Mae brushes icicle rime from her face, then her long ears flicker suddenly. Her nose wrinkles in disgust.
"Goblins!"
Hal glanced at Mae's reaction, a moment of quizzical disbelief forcing its way in before he refocused on the new threat.
Think someone should tell her?

Miagnik |

He grimaced at the Dwarven Clerics sense of humor but before he could respond Maelodakh shouted. For a moment, Miagnik didn't register what her shout meant, but through the pain he saw the others turning their, suddenly it dawned on him that she meant other enemies.
He started to move but his vision swam as a wave of dizziness came over him and stopped before glancing up at the Cleric.
"Windel, anything you can do."

Windel Warhaven |

next RD. I was waiting on the DM to give us the go ahead to post.
Windel will channel another healing surge for his comrades benefit. healing: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12
The new battle threat on the horizon the Mighty Praggul Strongfist, God of War send forth a powerful recharge through the dwarf.

Rownig Fleetfoot |

RD 1: Rownig I'm going to be out of the touch next week, so here is my first action
Rownig still injured moves 25 feet to C, 13 which is just inside Windel's channel. He will take Windel's healing wash with glee.

Miagnik |

Round 1: Standing, move action. Then moving twenty feet to C-10, Standard action.
With the wash of magical healing, Miagnik finds strength returning to his limbs and picks himself up off the cold floor. He then follows after the Cleric.

Princess Stephanie |

I'm certain I'm the source of delay. Catching up!
Initiative: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Stephanie stifles a scream as Moralane drops to the ground, her face frozen in shock. Instincts race as the adrenaline continues to course through her veins from the previous flight. In a burst she once again floods the hallway in a tangle of glistening webs. Can't see the map at the moment, but will update when I am able to access it. The desire is to place it to the north between her, Atharessa and Moralane. She's not as concerned with catching any in it as she is with creating an obstacle to hinder/slow pursuit as well as provide cover from their arrows.
Also, what is the ruling on using a move action to grab/drag a body. I doubt I could move with it in the same action, but am hoping to at least be able to grab hold of Moralane so that we may flee next round!

Round 1…
Torn between running forward to help the fallen Moralane, and doing something to buy time, Stephanie glances toward the north and wishes see could see as well as the dwarves and the Goblins in this total darkness. She narrows her eyes, squints, and then she is sure she can see the walls on the opposite sides of the passageway, and the vague forms of the mysterious attackers. Stephanie aims another spell of Webbing to the north and hopes she has judged the distance correctly.
There are shouts of surprise, and a screeching voice that yells, Fall back you idiots, they have magic. Keep them in sight, and retreat.”
By now rowing is getting a feeling for the methods of the good priest of Praggul, and he only moves as far forward as he dares, staying close the Windel and within range of his magic.
Maelodakh rushes to stand next to Hallister, while Windel issues another prayer to the Dwarven God of all good things, and a wave of positive energy lifts the spirits of those around him.
Miagnik is bolstered by the war God’s energy and quickly gets to his feet. Hallister eyes Miagnik with worried concern, and then quickly makes a mental note of everyone’s position.
With Stephanies encouragement, Atharessa follows the gnome princess to where Moralane has fallen. Stephanie takes one of Moralane’s hands and Atharessa takes her other. The flesh is warm, but Moralane’s body is as rigid as stone, her eyes wide open, and her mouth agape with a trickle of drool on her chin. Relying on the cover of the thick webs stretched across the passageway just to the north of the intersection, Atharessa and Stephanie begin dragging Moralane back toward the west.
Moralane – takes 3 (NL), and 15 damage, is paralyzed
Stephanie – takes 2 (NL) damage
Miagnik – takes 10 damage
Atharessa - take 6 (NL) and 5 damage

Atharessa Deloui |

Looking to the north, Atharessa witnesses a strange sight.
Stephanie, Atharessa says in a whisper, The Goblins were caught in your web, and then, and then, they just walked out of it like it was nothing. They are retreating to the north, some of them quickly while the others are keeping an eye on us.

Hallister Silverspike |

Hal ran up and scooped up Moralane from the ladies just as he had when Stephanie had been bitten by the spider.
"Same as last time, Princess, only this time the roles are swapped. You get to help me guard her."
"Those bastards ain't gettin' away that easy."
Grim-faced, Hal moved down the hall toward the goblins holding Moralane like a child.
Best thing about being a dwarf monk- I can still fight just fine while carrying someone and don't even suffer movement penalties for encumbrance. Let's go get 'em.

Princess Stephanie |

Am I able to dismiss the webs? I'm not sure if they're an arcane effect that I can dismiss, or if they're something I've brought temporarily into existence that must run its course.

Miagnik |

School conjuration (creation); Level sorcerer/wizard 2
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M (spider web)
Range medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Effect webs in a 20-ft.-radius spread
Duration 10 min./level (D)
Saving Throw Reflex negates; see text; Spell Resistance no
The trick here, is to see if there is a (D) next to the duration. In this case there is, so it is dismissible.

Maelodakh Listener |

Mae runs ahead, using her speed to chase after the goblins.
She yells out, a hideous wail of fear:
Not sure if I can Bluff while Raging, says no Charisma based skills...
Say 1 round to get into Channel aura, 1 round to chase after goblins: 5 rounds of rage left

Princess Stephanie |

Thanks! I wasn't aware of that (D) thing.
Stephanie nods at Atharessa's words, understanding but not having a good explanation for why it occurred. "I'm not sure if it's webs that they can skirt so easily or my magic itself. But since they seem to fear the arcane, I'll assume the former."
As the others rush ahead, Stephanie will dismiss the webs just before the others reach them. "Beware their archers!" she calls to the forerunners. When the webbing drops, so will their cover.

Round 2
Hallister doesn’t hesitate to take up the chase, and once he has lifted Moralane into his arms, he turns his attention toward the fleeing Goblins. He pauses, but only for a moment, to ensure the other’s are following his lead. Can we place Hall at A, 26 – for now
Stephanie dispels the sticky webs blocking the passageway, while Rownig hustles to catch up to Atharessa.
Just then the Goblins to the north, who had been retreating slowly, moving backward and watching to see what the Dwarven group would do next, stop and fire arrows toward Hallister and Stephanie
From here, at this moment, Hallister can see the stragglers of the fleeing Goblins just at the limit of his Darkvision range. The two Goblins he can see are Medium sized, but thin, almost too unnaturally thin. Their arms and legs are gangly. They wear “half-chain” armor and carry Bows. Hall can also see that they are not “normal” looking in that their skin color is a bright blue, with black tattoos covering their upper arms, necks, and faces. These tattoos have an obvious “spider” motif
Two arrows are fired at Hall And Stephanie
Ranged Attack vs. Hallister: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Range Attacked vs. Stephanie: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Damage if >12: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Stephanie is hit by an arrow, for 7 points of damage
Maelodakh hustles toward the intersection shouting as if she means to fool the retreating Goblins, but her words are filled with too much rage, and she fools no one
it is 80- feet to the intersection, for Windel, Rownig, Mealodakh and Miagnik, so can I assume all of round 2 is spent run ning for these characters?
Moralane – takes 3 (NL), and 15 damage, is paralyzed
Stephanie – takes 2 (NL) and 7 damage
Miagnik – takes 10 damage
Atharessa - take 6 (NL) and 5 damage

Miagnik |

Mostly correct, Round 2: Miagnik runs to B-23 this round. He then will stop and
Round 3: 5 ft. adjust to B-24 and try to stealthily peak around the corner. Before trying other things.

Maelodakh – yes, you can easily catch the archers who are falling back more slowly than the other Goblins. In round 2, Hallister and Maelodakh will be able to close with the Goblin archers, as they fire arrows. Windel Channels again, when he knows Miagnik is nearby and this will heal Atharessa and Stephanie as well. Meanwhile Atharessa will stay close to Stephanie. I will update the map tonight.
Round 3…
[oocStephanie is up first[/ooc]
Rownig rushes down the passageway trying to catch up to Hall
When Hallister and Maelodakh come close to the archers, they get a better look at the strange Goblins.
These Goblins are larger than average goblins. Their bodies look strange. Their arms and legs seem longer than normal, while their muscles seem knotted, bulging, and distorted. Where their skin is exposed it is tinged an odd color of bluish-black, with black scar-like tattoos cut into their skin in geometric patterns. Their faces are twisted in fanatic scowls of anger and pain, their teeth have fallen out except for a few large fangs and their eyes are wide and their stare is emotionless, unblinking.
The Goblins drop their weapons and lunge at Hallister and Maelodakh as soon as the two come close enough to attack. When the Goblins attack, Hallister and Maelodakh notic their claws are unnaturally long and drip with a thick blue goo.
Versus Hallister, AC 21

Melee Claw attack 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Hallister, carrying the paralyzed Moralane, leans back just in the nick of time, and avoids the claws
But Maelodakh is not so fortunate
Claw Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Before we can apply Maelodakh’s Round 3 attack, she must pass a DC 13 Fortitude Save, or suffer 2d3 rounds of Paralyzation

Moralane – takes 3 (NL), and 15 damage, is paralyzed
Stephanie – takes 4 damage
Miagnik – takes 5 damage
Atharessa - take 1 (NL) and 5 damage

Hallister Silverspike |

Windel, Miagnik, and Stephanie can take Round 3 actions. Atharessa will stay close to Stephanie
Maelodakh grits her teeth as the poison burns in the wound, but she feels nothing else. The Goblin, sure that the poison on its hands has done its work, grins mischievously and then its eyes go wild as the large head of Maelodakh’s morning star swings in a arc and smashes into the Goblin’s arm.
Hallister surprises the goblin in front of him with two quick kicks to the knee. Hall’s boot tears a chunk of blue skin from the Goblin’s kneecap, and when the wound bleeds it oozes green-blue blood.
Yel Goblin – takes 11 damage
Maelodakh - takes 5 damage
Moralane – takes 3 (NL), and 15 damage, is paralyzed
Stephanie – takes 4 damage
Miagnik – takes 5 damage
Atharessa - take 1 (NL) and 5 damage

Miagnik |

Peeking around the corner, Miagnik sees Hallister is in where the fighting is thickest, but not wanting to become a target for their archers he tries to help his companion from behind cover.
"Burn."
Casting Flaming Sphere on Orange/ -L 27.
Interesting idea here, can Miagnik cast and effectively "snipe" with his spell while around the corner? Since he was pretty much out of sight, and is looking around a corner where a fight is taking place. Normally the -20 makes it pretty unlikely but with the -1 for every 10 feet and other penalties like being in combat, that makes it pretty decent odds of me succeeding.

Round 3, wrap up
Rownig is within 15 feet of the Goblin Enemies. Miagnik should be able to attack the Goblin enemies with spells, but it is a tricky call as they are, technically, 5 feet beyond the range of his Darkvision, but I’ve always hated Darkvision, so let’s not make it an issue. However, he is clumsy about it, if he has reveiled his position remains to be seen
A ball of fire appears near Hallister and illuminates the Passageway, and then it suddenly leaps at one of the Goblins
Reflex Save VS DC 16: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Still reeling from the pain of Hallisters attack, the Goblin is too slow to avoid the flaming sphere and is burned by the magical flames.
Windel summons a spiritual weapon to attack the enemies, but the Goblin that is the target of the spell is too quick to react, and the weapon swings over the Goblin’s head with no effect.
Round 4 is up now, Rownig, can move into an attack position
Yel Goblin – takes 11 damage
Moralane – takes 3 (NL), and 15 damage, is paralyzed
Stephanie – takes 4 damage

Rownig Fleetfoot |

RD 4: Rownig

Miagnik |

Ack, right. I had completely miscalculated the range of Darkvision. Admittedly, a simple solution would be that Halister was clearly fighting someone just beyond the edge of Miagniks Darkvision so he knew where to drop the 5 ft. ball of flame... but however you want to run it.
Clearly pleased about how off guard the front line of Goblins were, Miagnik grins as he throws a fist directing the ball of flame to suddenly roll further along the tunnel at the Goblin some 15 feet behind the first one. A moment later he calls up yet another ball of flame to strike at their enemies. This time at the one cloaked in flickering shadow near the rear of their enemies.
His 1st Flaming Sphere will be directed at the Red Goblin, move action, and his 2nd Flaming Sphere is being summoned at the Blue goblin, standard action.
1st Flaming Sphere Dc.16: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 2, 3) + 3 = 11
2nd Flaming Sphere Dc.16: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1, 2) + 3 = 9

Princess Stephanie |

I'm assuming that with the flaming spheres moving down the hallway that allows us to see (especially since Stephanie's vision is rather limited in the dark)
I'm also a bit behind, so I'll need to catch some stuff up.
Stephanie pursues down the hallway, keeping to the left wall in order to maintain cover behind her group's front runners. She can't see the other goblins down the hallway at all, so she's cautious in her advance but needs to get within useful range.
Double move to get to G-25
Miagnik's spells, however, illuminate the hallway quite nicely! So the next round she fires some of her own light. The small missiles only cast the faintest of a purple hue, but weave through the air like small serpents--first crashing into the orange goblin, while the second weaves around it to catch the red goblin as well.
Missile 1: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
