Windel – 5
Miagnik – 4
Atharessa – 1, paralyzed in round 4 (returns to normal in round 9)

Round 4, wrap up

Windel throws the spider slaying axe, it whirls through the air and the spider flattens itself down just at the last minute. The axe goes wide, to the side, and misses the spider, then it bends in the air and returns to Windel’s hand

Round 5

Maelodakh charges across the room and squashes another spider with a yell that almost sounds like she is laughing hysterically

Do the call her Maelodakh the Brave, or Maelodakh the Mad?

Rownig side steps, and catches one of the spiders looking the other way. He quickly severs the small menace into two halves

Stephanie begins to twitch, just ever so slightly

Hallister notices the spider that keeps pressing on Moralane is growing weaker, he takes the opportunity to stop the slow moving injured spider into the ground killing it.

Moralane steps back and draws an arrow. Turning this way and that she searches the room for remaining spiders and sees the spider creeping up on Hallister’s back. She leans to the side and fires

SO: Hallister is in BS-1, and Rowning is in BQ-1, the blue spider that was in BR-1 is now dead and the yellow spider got pushed to BR-0?

If so:

No worries, I don't mind at all. For my part, I thought I just inherited the previous Melodakh's init.

It all actually worked out really well if you follow my plan. Mae started charging, you killed the spider in her way, she ran through its corpse and blatted the final arachnid. Oh I would have to disagree with you there. Delay poison is actually a wonderful spell. It lasts for hours per level and just puts a hold on poisons. In this particular case, when dealing with poisons that can paralyze someone, I'd say that not having to make those saves at all for a while can be quite invaluable. Plus if you survive, you have a much stronger chance of dealing with it later, through the heal skill and vials of anti-toxin.
I was actually in an 8th level game recently where all sorts of enemies were using poisons and when neutralize poison failed us 3 times, Delay poison basically allowed us to keep going until we had a chance to rest and take care of it normally.

IMO the delay poison spell is wonderful as a scroll, but not as designated spell slot at this level of caster. He only a couple slots and none to spare, especially, given his war god make-up. Besides this is the first time that I can recall that we've needed such a spell. Is that foreshadowing...perhaps. I play a game right now on the boards as a 6th lv cleric and having a couple the anti-toxin saved two of our skins, so no doubting that they are useful.

Day 7, late evening, 115 (Turn of the Clock, The approximate time of day is 7:10 pm)

All of the spiders are dead, In a few seconds the paralysis wears off of Stephanie and Atharessa. A new clock will appear in the bottom of my posts to remind me that Stephanie and Atharessa will need to make a new poison save in 24 hours, unless a Neutralize Poison is given to them before that time comes.

As Rowning stands by the slightly opened Secret Door, he exchanges a few words with the others, but keeps glancing into the room apprehensively. Finally, on one particularly long glance, something shiny deep within the webs of the room catches his eye. It appears to be a small golden statue.

Countdown Clock – Poison:

Windel:
Basically, during combat, if you hit with the dagger, and make the required roll, the dagger drains the ability of that creature to effect any target with it's poison ability for ten rounds and then gives the dagger the same ability to cause poison as that which was drained from the creature, on a successful hit. In this case, you drain a dead spider of being able to poison someone (hard to do as it is dead) and give the dagger poison as an attack for one minute

That is why I asked. I originally thought it was only during combat, but thought I'd ask. Besides "in character" Windel is learning about the weapon. I've tried to show some clear personality affects where the weapon is influencing him, even though Windel has control over the ego. He never had a spider aversion previously. So, I thought he'd be "curious" about the poison because to the weapons thirst.

"Sis. Really. Don't let it bother you. I... we..." she pauses, unsure of how to proceed in this new territory of "personal relationships". Brave she might be in the blood-drenched chaos of battle, but relating to her own half-sister was a distinct challenge.

"Let us work toward a compact. Work together. Next battle, let us co-operate - a fire-team if you will You can shore up my own inabilities. If there are any." Mae groans inside. She just couldn't help herself.

I don't know about those treasures the ghost mentioned, she says. But that looks like some kind of half man, half spider statue

Rownig squints and studies the statue. He moves near it to get a better view. clearing webs, if necessary.

He clearly doesn't understand it's nature or meaning.

Rownig:
Though you do not recognize the sculpture as anything significant, you are certain that it is made of gold. Determining if it is solid gold or not would require closer examination

Hallister:
You recognize the figure as being a representation of the Goblin Deity, Fath’Reen. It is a small statue, no more than fifteen inches high. The lower half of the statue is a hairy spider, with only four legs, and the upper body of a four armed goblin male with a mischievous grin. The goblin’s face has settings for four eyes, and it looks as if these were once set with jewels that have been removed. The statue is made of gold, but if it is solid gold is difficult to tell without closer examination

Rownig tries to determine a value, "Solid gold."

Day 7, late evening, 115 (Turn of the Clock, The approximate time of day is 7:10 pm)

Brushing some of the webs away from the small statue, Rownig examines it closer. He is careful, keeping his eyes focused on the thing and looking for subtle clues as to the possible existence of a trap or some harmful magical enchantment. When he is comfortable with the idea that it is safe, he gently tips the statue to the side to gauge its weight.

The statue is not solid gold, it is much too light, for its size.

Looking at the underside of the statue, with it tipped slightly, he can see that it is a wooden carving with a thick, nearly one inch, layer of hammered gold sheets applied over the wood.

The gold is worth more than he can calculate. None of you have seen this much gold in one place before. It could easily make several hundred coins, if the gold were melted down. The value of the statue is incalculable.

"Hal...Windel...Princess you have any ideas about this thing? If not, we can pack and and study it later." He looks around and comments, 'It's getting late and we've had a tough day, how about a night of rest?"

Is this a goblin artifact at all Terquem? Mae isn't particularly interested, but if it is, and she sees it, might she know anything about it? Sounds like it resembles a Drider...so probably not...

This is a Goblin Artifact, but it is very old, and only a Knowledge Religion, or Knowledge History roll of 18+ reveals that you know something about it. It is something like a Drider, but instead of a centaur-spider Drow, it is a centaur-spider Goblin. Now, most Goblins know something about the old goblin deities, and their relationship to the world of spiders. The two Goblin Goddess statues in this room each have six arms (and two legs) but this little Goblin Statue, of a male, has a very different lower body.
