"I'm good enough to limp home... let's get going as soon as Criscius is capable of hoofing it back to the city."

Your travel back to Absalom goes without further incident.
Arriving at the lodge, the master of Scrolls, (Who's dead, going by canon 2 gameday specials ago ^^), looks up excitedly.
"Ah, the pathfinder initiates! How did your mission go?"
His face saddens, as he sees her body in Doran's arms.
"What happened?" :(

"A minotaur attacked, she tried run opposite to the cave, to lead it away from us so we could get in and complete our mission... When we came out again, she was fighting the minotaur! We tried to help, but he landed a fatal blow before we could stop him. By Janira's actions, she saved our lives, through her own sacrifice and generosity too. Far too great a cost, I think."

I tried to close with the beast as the others did...but I got caught in the stream and couldn't get a footing to stand up and save her I feel this is my fault...if I had thought about it I might have taken a different tactic. I only hope to make her proud by my future actions.

"...i see."
His face looks slightly worn now, but he recomposes himself.
"Though it pains my heart to say, it is a risk of our profession.
I thank you for bringing her body back to us. She will be given a proper funeral."
Anyone ever wonder why they simply don't cast a resurrection on her?
The venture captain nods in agreement.
"As for your mission, have you discovered what the reason for the sighting of the gillman was?
Have you written down any clues we might research?"
None of you have, i think. :/

"He seemed to be praying by the water's edge, but we didn't get enough information to know for certain. The gillman was deaf and communication wasn't always easy. But the site seems to be holy, or at least very important, to them based on cycles of the moon, just like Janira's notes state... After a too-brief talk with the Gillman, we went deeper in the caverns, and discovered a dead necromancer and found his notes saying he was going to make an army of undead gillmen. Apparently that didn't work so well for him. We killed a jelly square of some kind, and some skeletons, too. Then we heard Janira fighting the minotaur and rushed out to her aid. We didn't get much further than that. Sorry if I got anything wrong. I took a good solid hit to the head from the minotaur's, need I say it, VERY LARGE weapon, and it might all be a bit jumbled in my memory."

The venture captain sits, hands folded with elbows on the table.
"Hmm, a site sacred to the gillmen, and an attractive refuge for monsters. Well, aside from the tragic death of agent Janira, you've done a decent job. A pity we've no notes or drawings for our archivists, but a jog decently done.
Take some time off, you'll receive a summon from me or a colleague in the near future, dismissed."
