"We are Pathfinders, in search of knowledge about this place and your people too. What calls you here? Is this a holy place for you? Are you worshippers of Aroden? And do you know of a plot to turn your folk into an army of undead? We found some evidence of this evilness."

oops... that's my other confirmation game that found the note... ignore that comment please

Well that's due to 15 + cha mod. Well done guys.
Orin repeats Criscius' question in a more suave dwarven way, about the craftsmanship of the decorations, the fine addition of a bath body of water, and its spaceous interior.
The gillman shows a humble smile.
"Ah, yes. You are correct on some parts there.
I am Uori, and proper respects to this sacred site are well received.
These cave's waters are of significance to my people, as its calm and clarity represents what we aspire to. Clarity and peace.
Though these were once a site to the worship of the now dead god Aroden, god of humans."
Near Uori is a cloak, of the same fashion like the one you found in the pit.

Orin reaches into his pouch and pulls out a collection of stones, picks the prettiest one, a round polished blue-grey stone with a vein of rose quartz running through it. He places it reverently on the diorama among the other offerings.
"It seems a good custom then, and in reverence to the transcendent calm of this place, I leave this offering of beauty."
He turns to the gillman and asks him about the cloak... "We found a cloak much like yours earlier... does it perhaps belong to one of your people?"

Chyrone |

Uori nods, and seems pleased with Orin's respectful nature.
He looks at it with interest.
"All pilgrims wear those.
Both for practical purpose, as well as cultural custom.
Being a people of the water, we traverse the dry land in coming here, putting ourselves through a trial of endurance to reach this sacred site. The cloak is a small aide in this."

![]() |

I know not who it belonged to, but Would you like to return it to your people for another pilgrim to use?

Chyrone |

Uori rises, and nods with a gentle smile of appreciation.
"Thank you, kind sir. I will be sure to have a younger pilgrim wear it on their first travel.
I would mention though, i have not ventured further down these tunnels. Strange noises and a foul stench come from those tunnels. As such, i can share no knowledge of what lies beyond."
He points towards two separate tunnels.

Smiling back, Orin says, "Thank you for that information, it may help us when we go deeper into the tunnels... I hope you fare well."

Gunthur raises his hand to ask a question. He looks a bit mournfully at his empty belt pouch where the magic cloak was once stored. "Uh, do you mind if we clear out any threats in those other rooms? I'm thinkin' it would be nice if this place were safe for everyone."
He pauses a moment to think, then continues, "And we saw them drawings in the other room, but you were prayin' here. Does the other room have any prayin'-type importance?"

Chyrone |

Uori shakes his head at the first part.
"Be my guest, brave man."
The second part he seems less interested in.
"Not to us, the flawed now dead god Aroden has his teachings marked there, or what is left of it."
Aroden seems an unimportant subject to him.
The gillmen are descendants of the now long gone Azlanti people, most of whom died at the Earthfall. It was the Aboleths that saved the remainder of their people by turning them amphibic.
Some of them might therefor see Aroden as having failed their ancestors.

"East sounds fine... "

Chyrone |

Uori nods, and bids you good luck on the exploring, before he resumes his meditation.
====================
A foul smell, the smell of rot, becomes stronger the further you go into the tunnel. Meanwhile, you faintly begin to hear the faint sounds of combat and a familiar woman’s voice half-shouting and half-reciting, “As the legendary Gregaro Voth successfully battled the wild beasts in the deepest reaches of the Mwangi Expanse, so shall I defeat you, foul servant of Lamashtu!”
A natural vent brings Janira's fight to your ears.
Any particular marching order?

"I hope she's gonna be okay... she did seem rather sure of herself when she said she could lead it away and then escape into the woods, but it sounds like she is actually fighting it now... "
orin would be fine in the middle or back of the party - he's not a frontliner

The tunnel narrows down from 10 feet to 5 feet as you proceed.
Moving cautiously past some slick floor, caused by drops of moist from above, Criscius leads the group down an ever increasing smell of rot.
As he comes through a bend, the tunnel opens to him seeing a duo of skeletons to his right.
Their skulls turn towards him, empty eyesockets staring at him, and they raise their limbs to attack.

Gunther drops his weapon noisily to the floor. As he moves up ahead, he draws a new weapon, concentrates quickly, and after a moment swings at one of the skeletons.
He gestures to one side saying "Leave that side clear for me to swing!".
Drop Horsechopper, draw Lucerne Hammer while moving, swift action Arcane Strike, swing at bottommost skeleton. Hopefully, top two skeletons will close to Gunthur and trigger AoO attacks, so leave those squares clear.
