He folds it up and puts it in his pocket.

"If'n it wasn' interestin', why did they put it in a box with that kind of security on it? Maybe one of us what has experience wit' ciphers an' whatnot could take a look at it?" Agraic inquires with a bit of a squint.
"Ain' ne'er seen anybody squir'l somethin' like that away so fast 'less they were tryin' t' hide somethin'. Not sayin' y'are, just sayin' it's weird."
"So wha' di' i' say? I gotta documen' it!" The rough and tumble Caydenite begins digging through his bags for parchment and writing equipment.

![]() |

Darshan says, "Really, it's nothing. Waste of time. Now, this false bottom, that's what's really interesting about this chest."
Is Darshan able to open it?

![]() |

"Careful now. Y' never know if they prepared 'splosive 'unes t'day. An' coul' we please read this 'un before it gets stashed?" Agraic asks that politely with a hint of irritation in his voice.

![]() |

"Ah, interesting, another document."
Darshan, who has no idea what Agraic is talking about and therefore knows it has nothing to do with him, reads this document to see what it is.

Not noticing Darshan's unusual behavior (Missed it by 1! Argh!), Chomper begins pawing at Kensaku. "Man still sick. Magic paper make his cough go away?"

![]() |

I'm not sure, I'd need to examine him more to learn what he has before I know how to help him, Kensaku informs Chomper apologetically while patting a tentacle, I'll look at him more when we get out of here and see what I can do. First, we should go check out that paper.
If she can wrest the new paper out of Darshan's hands, she will examine it to see if it's legitimate or a forgery at some sort.

Darshan is perfectly happy to let anybody read the new paper. He's pretty sure that this one is a forgery, and also looks for evidence himself:

I'm guessing that's not good enough for me to open the spoiler.
"Huh," he says. "Looks legitimate. Kensaku, do you see anything?"

![]() |

Nothing on the deed, no. It looks legitimate to me, though we just need one thing to make it official, she informs the party after her inspection of the document, but I'm sure we can get that once we're back in town.
She turns to the injured man, Do you have any friends that survived this far? Or shall we depart back to town?

Darshan's brow furrows. "Hurm," he grunts

Grandmaster TOZ |

She turns to the injured man, Do you have any friends that survived this far? Or shall we depart back to town?
He shakes his head weakly. "No one else made it into the tunnel with me. We should git through the next tunnel and shore up the distillery. Grald ain't gonna wait forever." His words twist into another racking series of coughs.

Grandmaster TOZ |

The man limps his way through the tunnels with Agraic's aid, until it dead ends in another door. The hidden portal opens into another cellar, better kept than the last. Hobbling up out of the lower floor, the party finds themselves in a taproom, with 20ft high ceilings and 8ft tall scaffolding allowing access to the many barrels stacked on the walls. Outside, the sounds of shouting and heated arguments can be heard.
Map updated.

Grandmaster TOZ |

The sounds resolve into barked commands and screams of protest. Through the window, Darshan sees phalanx-garbed men corralling the townspeople. Forcing them inside their homes as makeshift prisons, they bludgeon any resistance into submission. One man strides among the ruffians, finely crafted longsword in hand.
"BECHER! Time's UP! Git out here and surrender peacefully and no one has to git hurt!" he shouts in the direction of the distillery.
"LIKE HELL! 'At's where you can take yerself and yer grabby mitts!" Becher hollers back, before doubling over in a fit of coughing.
What would the party like to do?

![]() |

Drawing his rapier, Darshan looks back at his companions. "The so-called phalanx is is further dishonoring themselves by oppressing civilians. Shall we be Big Damn Heroes?"

![]() |

"Le's be Big Damn Smar' Heroes? An' force 'em t' come in 'ere?" Becher, let's getcha t' cover, y' keep y'r head DOWN, y'hear?"
Agraic is going to try and get Becher to cover somewhere safer.

Shigeru crouches, pours the powdered iron out onto the ground, and begins writing numbers and symbols into the dust. "Size, surface, weight, and volume, all inextricably intertwined. Unto this mundane world we shall now unbind." he chants repeatedly. On the second verse the iron powder begins to smoke, and that smoke swiftly flows over and begins to swirl around Chomper.

"...we shall now unbind. ENLARGE PERSON." Shigeru slams his hand down among the powder as he finishes his incantation. The iron bursts into flame and lights the smoke trail. Like a fuse, flame travels down the trail and ignites a flash of light around the eidolon. As the light and smoke around Chomper fades it is apparent that they are now twice as tall and eight times as heavy.
Shigeru then pulls out a bit of arabic gum and begins rolling it between his hands as he starts a new incantation. "A shadow cannot be seem within the light and this shall now be your might. Obscured from view none shall see even as you make them bleed. GREATER INVISIBILITY" He slaps the semi-transparent sap onto Darshan's back and the investigator disappears from view. He then steps close to the eidolon.
If you don't want to be invisible for some reason then I can adjust my actions, Darshan. We can also open those doors if we want to advance things a bit. I've gotten off the important spells.

![]() |

"Aha, very good," Darshan says. "I find that moving about invisibly is good practice in developing one's body sense."
Guessing that the north door will give way before the one to the west, Darshan stays in place. However, he does not ready an attack; he waits for the men to come through, hoping to take advantage of his invisibility to get behind the men and into a flanking position with Chomper.
