Grandmaster TOZ |
Discussion thread open! Now we see who we get...
Phylotus
Wei Ji
Cyzzane
greyswindle(?)
Ilsiaa(?)
Kensaku Rekishi |
Kensaku Rekishi, answering the call, the samsaran woman says with the wistful grin, thrinkets dangling from her armor as well as from different belts and sashes she wears, happy to be of service to the society.
Karasuma Tazou |
A tengu in a slightly better-than-sleazy business courtier's outfit chimes in:
"The party of the first part, in this case, the Pathfinder Society, would like to inquire of the party of the second part, in this case, the adventuring expedition assigned to this situation, whether:
Party of the third part -- being myself, Karasuma Tazou, Attorney At Law
Party of the fourth part -- being Agraic 'Shieldarm', Scarab Sages associate
Party of the fifth part -- being Brigid 'Half-Human' Thundertone, Skald of Torag
Party of the sixth part -- being Estara Potts of the Dark Archive
would be most requested upon said expedition.
Upon determination of the inclinations of the expedition, the appropriate party will be dispatched to this expedition."
EDIT: Karasuma is a Rogue 5/Shadowdancer 1, Agraic is a UBarb 5, Brigid is a L2 Spell Warrior (Skald), Estara Potts is a L3 Telekineticist. There are also a lot of options at L1-2 available, as well.
Darshan the Pathfinder |
Well! I would probably like to bring Darshan, my 5th level Investigator to this, because he isn't a member of a faction at all, uh-huh, nope, but, you know, may have a purely idle interest in things related to nobles and such.
Agraic Shieldarm |
"Alrighty, I've gotten this message to zip on over from th' plane of Water, but might have to give the light work t' someone else, will let folks know..."
Grandmaster TOZ |
So we currently have three and a pregen. I have heard calls for Amiri.
Darshan the Pathfinder |
Given that we already have a Barbarian, but we don't have anybody divine, it might be worth thinking about Kyra.
The product description for the scenario mentions walking dead, but also mentions tangled web of Taldan politics.
I have to admit, I don't really have a good feel for the sort of role that an Occultist fills. The "Role" blurb in Occult Adventures says that he likes to travel with other adventurers... not very helpful. What sorts of things is Kensaku good at? If Kensaku is good at diplomacy/deceit sorts of things, then perhaps two barbarians are good at walking dead, and an investigator and an occultist are good at tangled webs of politics.
Kensaku Rekishi |
Kensaku is fairly good at knowledge things and buffing party members in combat. She's not bad at diplomacy, but definitely shouldn't be the face of the party. Oh, and she's really good at using magical devices, but that's a really niche thing so it usually doesn't help much
Grandmaster TOZ |
Level check? Darshan is 5, Kensaku is 4? And Agraic is a bit higher? Sounds like you guys might average to 3-4.
Grandmaster TOZ |
5 is the out of subtier level. Would you guys like a 4th or 7th level pregen? That will also decide which subtier you play, low or high.
Wei Ji the Learner |
Agraic isn't very 'tanky'... Close to a L7 Amiri, but in a different direction.
My gut feeling is always to 'play down' unless folks are actually at the tier in the question and I'm the 'outlier'.
...wasn't there a thread about this question...? :P
Grandmaster TOZ |
If you know of a fourth player that could make the call academic, feel free to let me know. :) I've reviewed the scenario and think the dice might be the deciding factor. It's a Season 0, so there is a lot of 'same creature but more' going on.
Grandmaster TOZ |
The GM shall decide and post an opener as soon as he can. Convention prep is a pain.
Agraic |
"'s fair an' no never-min'. Y'll get t' it when y' get t' it. I ain' lookin' forward t' th' 'port lag, no lie."
Grandmaster TOZ |
Next post will be tomorrow, waiting for our fourth party member to give yea or nay.
Grandmaster TOZ |
According to Subtierranean the party will STILL get to choose low or high. With Chomper along, I recommend high tier to still have a challenge. :P
(Yep, exactly 5.5. :P)
Edit: Of course, without a dedicated healer, 3-4 might be better so you don't all die.
Wei Ji the Learner |
I'm not worried about challenge, with the consideration of not having a dedicated healer being kind of important.
That being said, I've played in scenarios where the lower tier was harder than the higher one... this isn't one of those, hopefully.
Chompy-o-Squish the Eidolon |
Didn't anyone tell Chomper not to play with his food? :)
Don't tell me what to do, DAD. :P
rknop |
Question: when somebody is paralyzed, are they poseable? (I remember a Buffy episode where Dawn got paralyzed, but others could move her limbs around.)
Because, you know, there's much opportunity for hazing hilarity if they are....
Darshan the Pathfinder |
So y'all know : I'm going to GenCon. (As are at least two other people in this game....) I'm going to be GMing constantly, and won't be able to check in again until next Tuesday or Wednesday. (Tomorrow is drive day.)
Grandmaster TOZ |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
I will also be at GenCon, but since I live on the forums, will still be checking in. :)
Darshan the Pathfinder |
Darshan, Sovereign Court, level 5, 35179-14, normal speed.
Day job: Craft (Alchemy), including Crafter's Fortune:
Craft (Alchemy): 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (2) + 17 = 19
:P
A measly 10 gold. Darshan is too busy going to high-end parties.
Grandmaster TOZ |
Chronicles have been posted, just need Shigeru's day job to update that last one.
Shigeru Kotabe |
Shigeru Kotabe, David Schopmeyer, Dark Archive, 79383-2, Purchasing a caravan property for 4 prestige
