Darshan the Pathfinder |
"More down this way!" Darshan says, whistling as he heads south and around the corner, so Chomper will know which way he's going. He stops making noise as he turns the corner, and runs up to the ghouls that are there.
(Are there any rounds left on the previous Haste? I don't think so. If not, this is a double move. If there are, then it was just a single move, and he can still stab. Just in case, here's the stab, but I don't think this actually happened:
Stab if there is Haste left: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Darshan begins to dash around the corner, but the magic enhancing his speed fades, preventing him from striking the creature in front of him. However, the ghoul remains unaware of his approach, bungling right into his rapier. Hissing, it returns the attack in kind, snapping at empty air. Its cohort steps up to savage the empty air, it's claws catching the Vudrani man despite the glamor. Inside, the remaining guard rushes up the stairs away from the onslaught.

Kensaku Rekishi |
Slightly flustered by the speed at which the battlefield has altered drasticly twice now, Kensaku stalls for a moment before cursing the weight of her armor and moves into threat range on the ghoul closest to Agraic.
Double move, cause she's sure Chomper can get Darshan out of whatever mess he's in

Round 10! Will we make it to 11?
Shigeru Kotabe |
"Chomper! Ride by buff!" Shigeru calls out as he draws another piece of licorice root. He begins casting and waits for Chomper to get close enough to haste everyone in the building.
Standard action to ready to cast haste, no need for a move action.
Chompy-o-Squish the Eidolon |
Chomper steps closer to the door as the temporal ripple expands and wriggles with excitement as the world around them slows. Then, to Shigeru's surprise, they turn and head back out the door and to the east, following the sounds to Darshan's whistling and cries of pain. They round the corner just in time to see Darshan become visible.
Enraged at the sight of their bloody companion they yell, "Don't you know!?" as they charge forward and lash out with their enlarged tentacle at the ghoul covered in teal mold.
Damaage: 1d6 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17
The ghoul's head comes clean off and is thrown forcefully into the wall of the distillery as Chomper glares at their friend. "You never split the party!"

Darshan the Pathfinder |
Darshan takes a five-foot step so that he's around the corner and not available to opportunity attack from the yellow ghoul, just in case his invisibility wears off at an inopportune time. He pulls out his extract of cure light wounds and downs it, sticking the little vial back in a pocket for future reuse.
HP Healed: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
He then puts an eye on the yellow ghoul, sizing up just where would be the best place to stab it.
Five-foot step. Standard action: quaff extract. Move action: study target for Studied Combat, just in case chomper somehow leaves it hit points.
Grandmaster TOZ |
Chomper AoO: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26
Chomper bludgeons the ghoul apart as it charges towards him, and the fighting subsides. The Pathfinders outside of the distillery see the aftermath of the attack in smashed cottage doors and smears of blood on the walls. Corpses lay where they were dragged to the ground amid claws and teeth. Surviving townsfolk walk aimlessly amid the carnage, some tending to the bloody wounds they received.
Becher peaks out of the doorway inside the distillery. "Well, y've certainly held up yer end of the bargain...e'en if it cost a couple doors." he notes, slightly sourly.

"We'll getcher doors all fixed up an' things, after all it's th' kinda thing that folks do f'r one another, don'cha worry 'bout it. Now we need t' get t' the rest 'f town folks, clean wounds, an' deal with the dea' an' th' not so dea' t' make sure we don' ha' anoth' outbrea'." Agraic notes as he gets tired and comes off his rage.
Darshan the Pathfinder |
Darshan nods. "Indeed. It's important that they all get a proper burial. But, also, if there are any townsfolk whom we can keep from dying, we'll want to do that as well."
Seeing his own wounds, Darshan spends a couple of minute brewing up two more cure light wounds extracts before downing them.
CLW: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

"A pity to see the supposed Taldan phalanx having fallen so far." He shakes his head ruefully.
Grandmaster TOZ |
The party may make Heal checks and take any other actions they wish to tend to the townsfolk.
Kensaku Rekishi |
I will see what I can do for these people. I just hope that it will be enough... Kensaku closes her eyes for a moment and concentrates. When her eyes open again they faintly glow as she looks around at the townsfolk, trying to see which ones are the worst off that can still be saved, and goes around tending to their wounds and best she can while the magic remains.
Using her Deathwatch Spell Like and going around using her wand on as many people as she can to at least stablize them.
Agraic |
Agraic pulls out his books of natural features and human features to try and help figure out how to heal folks.
Agraic has the Pathfinder Society Chronicles for K: Local, K: Nature, and K: Religion. Between them all, there should be at least some info in there to help the injured/ill.
Heal(Assist Others: +2 if there's a circumstance/equipment modifier for having all the books): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19
Grandmaster TOZ |
Agraic learns from his Pathfinder chronicles that the bodies of ghoul victims should be burned to prevent the disease from causing them to rise. He also recognizes the symptoms of ghoul fever among the townsfolk.
Agraic |
"Alrigh'. Becher, how soon can y' ha' th' distillery runnin'? There's folks what need somethin' t' kill the dead rot in 'em, an' it's the best bet f'm w't I c'n glean from th' books. 'less someone else has ideas? Gotta get th' folks treated what got bit, an' burn th' bodies, less we wanna fight 'em again with more showin' up?"
Grandmaster TOZ |
"Aw hell, we can get things back up and runnin' once we clear out the bodies and patch things up. Grald was the only problem keepin' us from brewin'." He idly kicks at the unconscious form of his rival, eliciting a groan.
Darshan the Pathfinder |
Darshan will do what he can to help the townsfolk.

"Let's make sure to burn the bodies of the dead. And, before we leave, let's make sure that we stamp out what ghoul fever there is, even if it means staying an extra day or two."
Agraic |
After the townsfolk are taken care of, and the fever dealt with, Agraic will recover his caltrops, rebundling them in leather bags if possible.
There's no indication in the rules if they can be recovered or not, but it's worth a shot.
Shigeru Kotabe |
"Chomper. Go collect the bodies of the fallen and put them in the main square. Be gentle about it too." Shigeru directs his eidolon before heading over to Becher. "I have no healing skills of my own, but I can ensure the bodies burn clean and complete. Chomper will direct the living to fetch someone to perform their last rights, but we cannot take too much time. Ghouls typically don't rise until the next midnight, but I have heard of the undead rising within minutes before. In the capital city no less. We can't risk something like that happening here."
"It would be best for you and your own to make the decision on what to do with Grald, I think. The Society holds no jurisdiction here." He pauses and looks out at the mist, obviously uncomfortable. "And that jurisdiction...I don't want to be insensitive given the tragedy that has occurred here, but it would be appreciated if we could discuss the reason my group came out here in the first place. If you feel up to it."
Darshan the Pathfinder |
"Indeed," Darshan says, picking up where Shigeru left off. "I hope that what you have seen today will help you understand that we, as Pathfinders, intend to honor your father's memory, and that a continued alliance between yourself and us could be beneficial to both. We simply wish to be able to use some portion of your distillery as a base-- a Pathfinder lodge. This will mean that whatever Pathfinders are stationed here will be able to assist you in the defense of this place, should the restless dead shuffle forth again, or if the degraded bandits who claim to have some heritage from the Taldan Phalanx get foolish ideas again. What do you say?"
He feels the revealed-to-be-false deed burning in his pocket, but he decides to ignore it.
Take 10 on Diplomacy + free Inspiration: 1d6 + 20 ⇒ (6) + 20 = 26

Grandmaster TOZ |
Becher nods. "What am I gonna say ta that, no? Y'all done plenty o' good for me, an yer gonna keep it up? Be a damn fool like Grald to not accept. Jus' want to keep the distillery running on the side, but that shouldn't be no trouble." He rubs his chin a moment before adding, "I'll be keeping ownership, but pass it on to tha Society when I pass on."
Outside, Dalard helps direct efforts to clean up the aftermath. Chompers assistance speeds the collection of the bodies and clearing of debris. Shock and fatigue prevent many of the villagers from being concerned by the eidolon's appearance. The infected corpses are burned with prayers to Cayden, Pharasma, and some few other deities.
Grald and his surviving men are marched out of town after the newly signed deed is produced. The lieutenant glowers sullenly at Becher and his new allies, but says nothing before leading his contingent away.
Grandmaster TOZ |
With the town saved, and the distillery intact, the PCs are hailed as heroes and offered room and board for as long as they like. Becher welcomes any of the party to stay and help work at the hard task of establishing the building as a new lodge worthy of a venture captain. When report of the successful mission reaches the Grand Lodge, Society leadership is pleased at the results and more than welcomes the assistance in establishing the fledgling outpost.
Congratulations on a job well done!
