Racks for weapons line the walls of this chamber; above the racks hang various shields, pieces of armor, weapons, and standards on display. Most of the racks are empty, but a few weapons remain in place. A horrible stench fills the room as well, akin to the smell of rotten eggs mixed with the reek of an open sewer.
Most of the few remaining arms in the room have rusted away, making them useless in combat.
You identify a masterwork silver dagger, a masterwork light steel shield emblazoned with a leaping dolphin, and a banner depicting a bird made of living flame.
You note a banner depicting a bird made of living flame the banner as belonging to the Band of the Phoenix, one of Absalom’s most famous hunting lodges during the Age of Blades. The banner is worth 100 gp but might be wort hmuch more to a historian or collector

Anibal steps into the room and his face turns into a grimace of disgust. He takes a few seconds to adjust, then looks at the rest of the group:
Heavens! Whoever that was, you need to stop eating whatever you are eating.
He chuckles, then looks at the room and it's decor.
Is anyone familiar with these banners? I'm not from around here, so I really wouldn't know.
He pauses, then breathes in again.
Seriously, though ... Open the other door so we can get some air in here.
He walks towards the southeastern wall and tries to listen to the door.

Cyrus, great! Maybe you can find there good hand crossbow for me? I wouldn't mind.
Kaleb looked thoughtfully at the stairs.
Well. I'll go check what we got above. If I'm not back in five minutes - run to my rescue.
Stooping, stealthily, Kaleb begins to climb the stairs. He doesn't rush to the next floor, but moving gradually, carefully examining each new object entering his field of vision.

Upon Cyrus' notice of the silver dagger, Lizbeth spots a few more useful items scattered amongst the wreckage. She frowns at the heraldic device of a donkey but offers it to the rest of the group.
"Any here use shields? The design is odd but it is more than serviceable. Also the dagger Cyrus has pointed out may be of use."
If no-one lays claim to the dagger Lizbeth will take it so make sure, though will freely offer it to any who wish it. The banner is taken and rolled up carefully before being placed in Lizbeth's backpack.

Kaleb cracks the door an inch. A black stone altar sits at the end of this large chamber. The crumbling remains of wooden benches sag in front of it beneath rotting ceiling tapestries. Carved symbols and writings snake along the walls. The burnt corpses of two troglodytes lie on the floor in the center of the room.
From the doorway, Kaleb can see a skeleton standing guard, wreathed in flames.
The first obvious action will likely trigger the engagement

"I have no current use for those weapons," Ilsensine says, but then Kaleb holds up a hand as he opens the door and sees the enemy.

For some reason the undead I didn't expect to meet...
Kaleb frantically thinking what to do, knowing that he's only got a couple moments to make the right decision.
Attack him alone is stupid. To retreat and prepare? I wonder if he noticed me? Perhaps I should try to lure him into a trap... of course, unless he doesn't bound by magic to this place.
Having made the decision, Kaleb's eyes narrowed and a slight movement of his wrist pointed the crossbow at the skeleton.
Let's see what happens... the Music, play!
Caleb fires his crossbow at the skeleton, and immediately rushes down the stairs. On the run he shouts to friends:

Hmmm, druids probably really don't like undead, so desperately thrown into battle. Can't understand it. Undead is just a tool for rational beings, no better and no worse than others. In my ward there is one gnome-necromancer. Nice guy, though somewhat eccentric. No matter. In any case, I hope she'll be okay and she'll be right back.
