Your unarmed attacks can deal either bludgeoning or piercing damage.
Using Hamatulatsu style for this encounter unless stated otherwise.
My intent was to do Piercing damage, as Bludgeoning is default for Unarmed Strike. Also there are bonuses if I Crit with Piercing damage.

Just a thought, you have to swim down to hit the nearest one, which precludes a flurry, which means your initial attack would have not been at -2, which would have been a hit. Ok with that? Or am I misreading?

![]() |

I guess I'm not understanding the Swim check. I thought making 15 or better allowed a full round action. The "roll with a wave to get down to him" was intended as flavor, since you said they're just below me and within striking range already. But I'll take a single hit over two misses any day. :-)

Shifty |

The chap below you and in striking range has already been beaten unconscious (by yourself and Blossym) and is out of the combat - which means swimming over to the other one to attack, as it was on the other side of the boat - fighting Jobin and Baphos. Basically per the map, you guys were split up

Swimming 300 ft is 10 rounds of double movement, and that's assuming successful Swim checks and 30 ft movement speed. Most of the group seems to sink like a rock, and not everyone is Medium sized.
This woman thinks swimming is unlikely to be successful. This woman suggests we all work to sail the boat as fast as possible.
With everyone Aid Anothering to my +9, hopefully we can get within missile range before they set sail. Any other suggestions? I'm open to whatever works.

Darren can handle DC15 swim checks just fine when he's not grappling with the random number generator.
my only guess for stealth would be to come from a direction the watchman is not paying attention to...

If we have to swim all this distance, I am pretty sure I won't help at all. I can help to move this boat as fast as possible. It seems they are distracted right now. I guess we should keep going as soon as possible.

"The effect of the potion is long gone."says Jobin. "It would have been smart if we had think about disguising as fellow pirate."
Squeesing his wet black robe he adds. "I do not mind if our best swimmers go ahead of us. But let's remind that we need the relic first. Posing as buyer would be the best chance to come close. At worst, they need us on board if they wish to rob us."

I guess we keep moving forward in our boat while we talk

Shifty |

@GM, is there a nautical flag message for "wait"?
Possibly, but as the rowboat has no flags or other signalling gear the old 'wave your hands in the air' is about as good as it gets. Bear in mind the reputation of the Captain.
Just to clarify, you are sailing up?

With Yugatta at the rudder driving on Jobin and Nijena, the others try act casual.
The boat gets within hailing range and the man on deck calls out to you "Turn about, wrong ship" and starts waving you off. He wears a rather flashy outfit and has a large feather in his cap...
You are around 120' away
You could cover that in two rounds of hard rowing, arriving at the end of the second round[ooc]
