Lantern Lodge

Male Human GM Murder's Mark

Friends had a bit more time to look over a stranger. He was stripped of his armour and coat, wearing only thin shirt and pants. His strong boots was made specially for long walking over rocks and difficult roads. Some strange symbols were carved on his hands and forehead, probably with troglodyte claw. His legs have several burning marks, like he's been tortured recently. Kaakoo used wand to bring guy back to life and captive slowly opened his eyes.

"What happened?", his voice was very weak and he tried to lick his lips with dried tongue, "How did you find me?"

"Hello, mate. How are you feeling? We just went to explore this fortress. Found some nasty troglodytes and after dealing with them we found you here. What's your name, mate? How did you end up here?"

Lantern Lodge

Male Human GM Murder's Mark

"Balenar", his voice was very weak, "I saw a fissure in a wall", he waived his hand and cough several times, "I got climbing gear and got there, but than a lizard striked from the dark and small reptiloids.. I lost my feeling, and then I was here, with that big creature..." He started shaking, "it was speaking strange things, bubbling language, I don't understand, and he wanted something, and when I said something he could not understand, he put hot poker to my leg", step by step his words become unrecognizable and he start crying.

Looks like guy was a bit more comfortable speaking in common language with other human.

"Big creature, troglodyte with yellow eyes, he was out there", Balenar gestured towards the door, "he was saying something as Tas-skar, Tas-skar and he was planning to make my 'bones burn like down there', 'blessed by two-faced god', but I will serve that Tas-skar in eternity and become part of his army against humanity" man was pronouncing word the way he heard it, with characteristic hiss of reptilian creature.

He drank again from Evenstar flask.
"Will you help me go back to Absalom or you want to see Tas-skar?",

Balenar hesitated a bit:
"You see, even in best days, I haven't been much of fighter. I used to adventure with a group, but could not find one fast, when I saw an opportunity. I thought, if I could handle that alone, I can get some credit and get rid of this third-year adventurer look", he paused, "I recently been accepted in Pathfinder Society, only three years of preparations and I passed my Confirmation. Adril Hestram gave me my Wayfinder, but still working hard to build my reputation and connections inside. At least, I'm not cleaning status in Grand Lodge anymore, but in my current condition, I think I'd like to swap places with any guys, who is there now and does floor sweeping"
He ate piece of bread from Evenstar's offer and nodded to woman:
"I'll stay here for a while. If you can get me bow, I can shoot someone, but I probably will miss. I could not help you or share something with you as I haven't seen much, except this cell and torture room outside."

"We found some gear in the next room, as well as a wayfinder. I guess, those are yours. Take those, so you will not be helpless around here. Don't worry, we will return to get you shortly."

Lantern Lodge

Male Human GM Murder's Mark

"Oh, thanks,", Balenar took his short sword. "If you need something of it, you may use it for a while. I don't think, it will have much sense for me to have it all here. And you can be more successful in your recon using that - there were scroll of invisibility. I'll keep wayfinder, climbing gear and short sword if you don't mind."
He checks one scroll and then chants several words of magic. Blue healing glow appears around his hand and he fix some of burns with that. After that procedure, he hand second scroll back to Odmar.

Evenstar blows were devastating. Door barely hold after second, but she decided to clean the passage and destroy it completely.

Cracks in the walls and ceiling of this chamber have allowed rainwater to collect here, flooding the room and giving rise to a profusion of mold and fungus along the walls and ceilings. Different rubble lies on floor of half-flooded room: broken table, some trash here and there. As everyone was expecting to see another monster behind that door, noone was surprised, when out of puddle a big frog jumped out. It was a size of dwarf, with long tongue and dagger-sized teeth.

This door opens to an improvised balcony... probably, long time ago it was storage room, but than it was ransacked by troglodytes and now due to earthquake has no wall and opens to Carnlands... From top of the tower, Evenstar could see some guards that come to investigate tower and probably were stopped by lack of climbing gear. They made a camp on bottom of the tower and are waiting for something.
This part of tower is in deep shade, because of last floor of tower - cracked and damaged is hanging over like a balcony. Guards haven't noticed Evenstar because of that and mostly because they were paying zero attention to old building, enjoying warm of their tent instead of being soak wet in a rain.

The four wings of the tower are completely open on this level, forming one great, cross-shaped chamber with arched ceilings. The decayed remnants of a carpet run from the doorways at the end of each wing, meeting in the center, where a spiral staircase drops out of sight below. A large, throne-like chair stands in the middle of the eastern wing next to a big chest. An albino crocodile, size of a nice riding dog, is sleeping near the throne.

Behind the chair, looking down a troglodytes' leader, mighty Tasskar was stending, looking down. As he heard some noise, he turned his head and was able to see an Evenstar head appearing from stairs. Evenstar hesitated a bit, suddenly overwhelmed by light coming inside from four sides and could not decern Tasskar first.
