I am aware that the pregen’s name is Ezen. I assumed that you wanted to be addressed by Tarondor seeing you inserted that name into the heading.

Maybe I misunderstood this. I thought you impatiently wanted to open the mundane door.

“Understandable Ezren. Herr Magt Jaeger, we have already inspected the mundane door for traps. From what I can see, it appears clean. I would recommend trying to open the door before kicking it in. If it opens easily, it might give us an element of surprise. If you would do use the honors, I will try and provide some ranged support, if there is anything aggressive behind the door. ” Thallin knocks an arrow and lines up with the door, in order to provide cover fire.

Magt reaches forward to push (or pull) the door open. Blade and teeth ready for any threat.

Liberty's Edge

This large chamber has a relatively low ceiling. The far southwest wall is set at an angle, and against the center of the wall sits a heap of bones and skulls resembling a large makeshift throne. To the left of the throne sits an oak and brass sea chest, carved with images of sea serpents chasing their own tails.

Seated at this throne is another ghoulish figure. Two more stand near him, on guard. Near the far wall, two festrogs get up from mounds of tattered cloth and burlap, alerted to your presence like a pair of watchdogs.

The ghoul at the throne stands, glaring at you while speaking.

"Who defiles this tomb and destroys my servants. Approach and explain yourselves to Rajhan-Voh!"

A new map has been added.

Jorah feels very uneasy communicating with undead such as this, but tries to hide that from his face. "We are members of the Pathfinder Society, exploring this place in search of a particular artifact. According to information recovered from a former pirate, the Orb of Stars is located somewhere in this crypt."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (11) + 17 = 28

Liberty's Edge

The Orb of Stars you say? Perhaps we can make an arrangement? I have spent ages here with only one thing to eat and I grow tired of it. Give me something new to eat as tribute. Perhaps one of you would agree to stay behind and become my feast?

A wide grin full of fangs flashes across his face at the idea of fresh meat.

GM Screen:

Sense Motive

20+:
You have a sense that his desire is very real. He would be willing to bargain with you if you gave him some fresh meat. Humanoid flesh would be most interesting but perhaps if you had something else it would do.

25+:
Rajhan-Vol mentioned the Orb of Stars, but carefully steered clear of claiming to have it. You suspect he doesn't.

Realizing what the group is conversing with, Thallin decides to move off into the distance and invokes a protective spell on himself. Once the spell is complete, he makes his way back to the group.

As the discussion continues, the rogue infuses his bow with additional arcane energy and then fires a shot at the red ghoul.

Out of range of the ghouls to hear, Thallin casts shield spell on himself and then moves back to the encounter. Assuming the doorway is still clear, he steps into the door, enchants his bow as a swift action, and fires a shot at the red ghoul. Hopefully the ghoul is flatfooted.

Liberty's Edge

The Restful Spirit makes a well-placed attack that destroys the ghoul.

Rajhan-Vol moves toward Magt who gets a passing swing as he approaches.

Magt is entitled to an AoO as Rajhan-Vol moves in.

The overwhelming stench that assaults your nose reveals that Rajhan-Vol is no ordinary ghoul, but a ghast.

Jorrah, Magt, and Thalin need to make a DC 16 Fort save or be sickened, as does anyone who gets within 10 feet of Rajhan-Vol.

Rajhan-Vol continues past him to Jorrah who the ghoulish creature bites.

The bite sinks deep into Jorrah's neck, drawing a more grievous wound than expected. (Sneak Attack)

Jorrah needs to make a DC 16 Fort save against paralysis or be paralyzed for 4 rounds.

Jorrah needs to make a DC 16 Fort save against disease or contract ghoul fever.

Rajhan-Vol turns around and lays into Magt with claw and tooth. Reaching for tender spots thanks to flanking with the festrog.

His bite is absolutely vicious and the claw that follows drops Magt close to death. Rajhan-Vol spins around and tries to claw Jorah again, but the aasimar is able to duck the blow.

Remember the DC 16 Fort Save vs sickened if you get within 10 feet of Rajhan-Vol and haven't already rolled a save.

Magt is dying (at -10 hp). In addition to the stabilization check, two DC 16 Fort saves are required against paralysis and one against disease. All are at -2 due to sickened. If Jorah can heal you you won't need the check since his init is higher than yours.
