The bolt of light flies from the seasoned wizard's finger and slams into the blue spider's body! With a hiss, the creature falls to the ground, with a smoldering hole in it's thorax. Legs twitching, it seems that the spider is somehow trying to stay alive.

Does anybody have any news about GM Michael_Hopkins?

![]() |

Ha! Managed to get things situated that actual daily updates can be done now!
As Ezren struggles to get unstuck from the spider's webs, Zarah swings wildly! With a loud clang and the sound of scraping as well as sparks flying when the woman's blade hits the ground! Taking the distraction to his advantage, Grimnir swings his weapon over the heads of the ducking Kareem and Zarah, smashing the ball into the creature's thick exoskeleton, felling the spider with a mighty blow!
Looking about the room after defeating the spiders, the pathfinders manage to go through all the paperwork on the desk, finding two papers of interest.
Updated, Handouts, is now added. Also, I'll give a heads up if any more absences are coming up. Time for the sluthing to begin!

![]() |

Kareem is eager to take the papers and read them aloud, letting everyone hear what the papers say. Ezren might delve deep into the papers and forget everyone else, Grimnir could try and drink it, and Zarah attempt to destroy it, mistaking it for a tavern. Vires, well, Kareem's not sure he can read.
After he has read them both aloud he looks at his comrades with a puzzling look.
"Dreng knew we'd find these papers here. He knew Selmius Foster had a hidey-hole under the Wounded Wisp," Kareem begins, waving the papers in his hand, "there's a lot to solve in these papers. I'll have to admit I fear this mission is going to involve grave robbery and trespassing."
Kareem hands over the papers to Ezren and begins to ponder, letting others voice their opinions first.
Bhopan location expedition - Importance?

Zarah listens intently. "So. Not beer, huh?"

![]() |

"Hey!", Ezren exclaims when Kareem take the papers before him.
After the paladin reads it loud, and give it to him, Ezren stays thoughtful. There were a lot of information there and they need to analyse it carefully, to not be catched in a trap.
After a few moments, he starts to talk: "well, Bhopan is too far away from here, maybe it could be our last option.", then he continues, "if Eylysia is still alive, the only way to know it is looking for her contact, Fimbrik, at the Arcanamirium. Let's start by there, right?"
If nobody opposes, the party will start by looking for Fimbrik at the Arcanamirium.

![]() |

Grimnir laughs as the creature is felled. He stows his weapon and meanders around the chamber, whistling and singing.
As Kareem explains the contents of the documents he has found, Grimnir moves over to his fellow paladin. It is as if the conversation is the most interesting he has ever had, and Grimnir listens with great interest.
"Dreng wnew abit it th' whole time! Amazin'! Now grave robbin' an' trespassin' noo? Thes soonds loch a stoatin idea!"
Grimnir puts his hand on Kareem's shoulder and stares seriously into the taller human's eyes.
"Also, has anyain ever tauld ye yoo ur th' smartest pathfinder out thaur?"

![]() |

Kareem looks back at Grimnir sternly, having a hard time understanding what he is rambling about. "Pray to gods I'm not the smartest pathfinder. We'd be in trouble."
"I like Ezren's idea, let's not intrude his home just yet. Maybe the people at the Arcanamirium can also give us some insight on how to deal with Fimbrik, if he happens to be a regular gnome... you know, bewildered."
Over to Arcanamirium!

![]() |

To Fimbrik's House then! Onward, my drunken friends!
After walking about twenty minutes, the group manages to find Fimbrik's house. Coming to the gate of the address given from their note, the pathfinders find a large stone building that while at first seems well maintained, upon closer inspection, is unkempt. The brick walkway up to the main entrance is covered in almost two years worth of monthly newsletters and gossip tablets.

![]() |

"I thought you were taking us to the Arcanamirium," Kareem remarks to Ezren, "this house barely looks to be grandiose. And I still oppose searching Fembrik's home without proper authority. Of course if we have a reason to believe Fembrik is in grave danger, it would warrant a break-in."
Kareem now regrets his choice of words.

"I thought you were taking us to the Arcanamirium"
"Aw, yes, yes... But I am a bit rushed, you know? And, as we know where he lives, why not visit him, huh?", Ezren responds with a smile on his face.
"Did you hear that? From somewhere deep inside, or perhaps round back, away from the road--it sounded like a cry for help!
"Here what? Are you still drunk?", when the half-orc goes on the back of the house, Ezren do a facepalm.
"I'll try to knock at the front door...", then the wizard goes there and knocks, "Mr. Fimbrik?", he calls him loud, but politely.

![]() |

"I can't let Zarah break into this house... it's not a tavern," Kareem comments to Ezren before dashing to Zarah, following her to the back of the house.
Behind the house Kareem eyes Zarah with a whimsical smile. "Fear not, dear half-orc, a law-abiding citizen is here to keep you from committing crimes!"

![]() |

I hate paladins. :P

Grimnir still stands on the porch as he watches Kareem hunt down Zarah.
"That is an amazin' paladin. Someday Ah want tae be jist like him! He's so righteoos that Ah don't e'en know why we cannae jist knock on th' door an' see if th' gnome fellow is home!"
He waits with Lini with a mixture between chuckling and grave seriousness.
"Ur ye sure we should be knockin' if Maister Righteoos says we cannae go in?"

![]() |

By the map I'm guessing there are windows. Zarah peers inside the nearest one.

![]() |

My chosen one paladin of Shelyn (whom I have yet to play) has a battle cry that goes a bit like this:
"I am Apollyanna Sukino! I stand for love. And I also stand for justice. And in the name of the Eternal Maiden, I will punish you!"
Then she cries: "Love Prism Power!" And smites your diabolical ass.
Fortunately Zarah is infinitely more pragmatic.

![]() |

@Gimnir, despite the Lini's name in this alias, I'm playing with Ezren. :P

![]() |

Zarah, looking through the window, sees Fimbrik, sleeping on his bed with what appears to be two body guards. Kareem, following Zarah around the house, sees two familiar half orc siblings digging through the trash of one of the neighboring houses. Grimnir on the other hand, doesn't seems to hear anyone coming to the door as Ezren calls Fimbrik's name as he knocks.
Oooooh, what to do, what to do?!

![]() |

Kareem makes only a quick glance at the twins, quickly turning away, hoping they don't notice Zarah or him. In order to keep Zarah occupied and not see them dumpster diving, Kareem goes over to the half-orc woman and leans against the wall.
"What's in there?" he asks nonchalantly.
What time is it by the way?

![]() |

"See for yourself. You figure that's Fimprick?"

![]() |

Kareem peers to see. "Well, he's a gnome alright. Got to be Fimbrik. Ezren stayed at the door to knock, but I doubt Fimbrik will hear the knock. Could you kn-... I'll do it," Kareem says, pausing just at the right time before suggesting Zarah to knock on the window, and instead does it himself, hoping to wake up the gnome.

![]() |

Ezren look around looking for Kareem, as soon as he realizes that the paladin is distracted by the half-orcs, he asks Grimnir: "you could, um ... "open" the door for us?", and he kicks the air, hinting that the dwarf pushes the door down.

![]() |

Taps foot in annoyance.

Grimnir listens to Ezren skeptically, then looks happily back at the door.
"Ah suppose it wooldnae hurt tae see if th' duir is locked. But if th' Righteoos One comes back, jist say th' duir was awreddy open," the dwarf says as he puts his heavily-armored shoulder into the door.

I'll let you break a tavern or two, I just might have to arrest you after that, but Absalom's law on damages to such establishments tend to be negligible," Kareem says to the half-orc with a grin, still trying to wake up the gnome by knocking on the window.
"...the f~*! was that?" Kareem says abruptly, hearing a strong thump from the front of the house. He takes a look at Zarah with a skeptical look in his eyes. "Did they just break in...?"

Grimnir, forcing his shoulder into the door, manages to open the door as the latch bursts. As the front door swings open, the dwarf sees Fimbrik move from the back staircase, and enter the door to his left.

Kareem hears the front door crack, and hurries over. The instant he sees the commotion he hears another crash from behind the house. The qadiran man facepalms and rubs his eyes. "Right, maybe the house is abandoned and vacant, and the owner of the household will not press any charges as it might be under demolition regardless," Kareem mumbles, trying to calm himself. "How about you lot go inside while I remain vigilant outside in case, oh I don't know, a patrol comes by to see where pathfinders are breaking in this time." Kareem motions Ezren, Vires, and Grimnir towards the house with his hand, a gesture best described as "shoo shoo".

Kareem buries his face deep into his palms for a moment to collect himself, before sighing heavily and standing up straight, nonchalantly as possible standing on the doorway as if nothing is happening. In his mind, he is reciting the legal appendices regarding property laws in the Ivy District and the possibility of forced entry by a third party in emergency situations.
I should study law.

No one comes to the window as he knocks. As for Ezren, you activated my trap card!
As Ezren steps into the house with Grimnir following him, shouting at the gnome, an ear piercing wail echos through the air. For a moment, as the alarm echos through the ivy district, the wizard and Grimnir notice that the living room, althought dusty, has been kept somewhat organized. Ezren detects abjuration, conjuration, and illusion throughout the room as three beetles appear from summoning circles in the room! The beetle with a slight green tint to its shell makes it's way to Ezren and bites at the wizard, tearing into his ankle! The bluish beetle then moves forward to bite at the man, but hits the couch instead!
