In a face-to-face game, I try to judge through their facial expressions how the affected players feel about their characters being caught in friendly area-of-effect spells. Obviously, I cannot do that here, so I have to ask instead:
@ Kareem: Are you ok with the color spray? The combat is almost over, and I won't target you while you are down, but it does take you out of the action.

I'm fine with non-damage dealing AoEs like this one, but it always depends on the situation. If you'd leave me next to mindless ghouls, not cool.
Yeah, when I'm a player, I feel the same way. Most of the time, I am fine with it, but it is nice to be asked.
