"Paladin code? No, my internal clock is just fighting against the idea of an all-nighter," Kareem chuckles, "when you've accustomed to waking up with the Sun, it becomes harder and harder to stay up late. Take Grimnir here for an example; he's accustomed to drinking beer. What if you take beer away from him? Then we've got a sad Grimnir to console."

Without knowing which of the two options was the worst, Ezren just shrugs and sadly returns to the Grand Lodge.
@Michael_Hopkins I'll prepare other spells to him, ok?

By Torag's beard Zarah.....@Ezren, You can prepare new spells that are on your list if you wish.
The night passes uneventfully at the Grand Lodge, and a new day dawns. Waking up, a bit harshly because of Zarah's wandering about the halls with refuse bin lids, the group makes their way to the Shrine of the Failed. After about a half hour, the pathfinders enter the antechamber, manned by a few who keep the shrine busy. This monumental chamber stretches eighty feet from end to end, with a ceiling suspended thirty feet from the floor by great pillars. Seven arched passages lead to humble rooms, each of which contains a polished stone altar dedicated to one of the failed aspirants who attempted the Test of the Starstone.
Maps have been updated.

Kareem has been indulging himself in tea the whole morning, especially after being woken up by Zarah. He restrains himself from harsh words, knowing that many many other pathfinders have also woken up thanks to Zarah's methods. Calmly, discreetly hiding his annoyance, he suits up and starts making the way to the Ascendant Court.
----
"So this is the place," Kareem says, pondering, "maybe we'll find some of those underlined would-bes here. Let's start looking then." He begins the arduous chore of going through every plate to look for one of the three references.
"You're welcome to help."

"FOR THE NINE HELLS!!! WHAT A F...!!!", yelled Ezren as Zarah approaches abruptly.
"Why don't you take this cow bell and put it...", the wizard stops for a while... "back at the cow?", he finalized with a clearly fake smile.
"Ok, it's time to do our job", Ezeren takes his things and goes to the Starstone Cathedral with the others.
Once there, he starts to search for the tombs with the names on the list.

"Whit is 'at unholy bangin'!" Grimnir curses and sputters as they get moving for the day.
Now sobered up, the dwarf appears sullen, with bloodshot eyes and perhaps nursing a splitting headache.
"Ur we sure there's nae somethin' we need tae check at th' Woonded Wisp again?" he mutters as they look at the wall.

The Wizard sighs: "Well, I didn't imagine that we were spend soooo much time to find those names..."...almost a week! :P
Kareem Mansur
|
"Many have attempted the Test of the Starstone," Kareem says with a short chuckle, "given that only three have succeeded, the success rate is preposterously bad. Some people lack the ability to grasp the laws of probability."
He continues to trace his finger over the nameplates, silently voicing each of them, occasionally sighing. Some would have been absolutely horrible and stupid gods or goddesses.

Ezren roll the eyes after Kareem's words and continues searching for the names...
Zarah Tavern-Breaker

"What were those names again?"

Ezren starts to sing a song...
"There was a time,
when a smart Wizard starts to shine,
casting his spells
to explode things so well!
Once he met two drunks
And a boring shining knight
They had to visit a chamber
But not in that night.
They finally arrived there
And nothing was found yet
But the party was prepare
To wait for days and don't despair"
Perform (Sing): 1d20 ⇒ 14 Not so bad.

Kareem Mansur

Kareem just shakes his head, and gives a whimsical look at Ezren. "I never would have guessed an old man would become senile so quick, just in one night," he chuckles, turning back to the nameplates. "They sure do have a lot of these in here... are we going to be here for a week?"
Zarah Tavern-Breaker

"I could recite the Night Before Gameday again."

"Zarah, would you mind? The dead here would like to rest, and your singing could very well raise the dead. Ever thought of a career in clergy?"
Ezren sings, Zarah... bellows, so I'm guessing Grimnir is next. I fear the rumors they tell about Pathfinders are true... a bunch of lunatics.
.Lini.

Ezren laughs in the face of poor performance of the half orc.
"And you, shining knight? Don't you know any good song to sing to us, while we wait for the gods' will?", he said to Kareem.

"Zarah, even though your singing is truly horrendous, save your tavern-breaking skills for later," Kareem advises, "and I also advise against your way of treating hangover. Although you probably beat the hangover off of Grimnir, he might not appreciate the extra missing teeth."
Kareem gives a stern look at Ezren. "A song? Not here, not now, not for you."

While Ezren sings, Grimnir Hammerhand looks around the shrine. He finds the names
Doulgonlir Caskmail
Hollis “Evil Grin” Thorne
Karina Clamp
written above three of the shrines. They are located on the shrines marked 1, 2, and 3, respectively, on this map.
I think the previous GM failed to include something, but we will just go with it. I think it will still work out.

No access to the handouts, hmm.
"Good, finally we found them," Kareem says, wiping sweat off his brow, "I'll go look at Caskmail's name, you others search the rest."
Aah, a sweet short moment of solitude.
Kareem then looks for anything suspicious with the nameplate.

Here's the description for the smaller chambers:
Each of these chambers contains a small stone altar to one of the failed aspirants. Each altar stands upon a raised dais and bears a small brass nameplate identifying the aspirant and the would-be-god’s areas of interest.
What Michael seemingly omitted is that in Fimbrik's house, Ezren found a second page under the note he picked up. This page features the three names you have seen repeatedly throughout the scenario, but Hollis Thorne's name is underlined.
Kadeem searches (take 20) Hollis Thorne's altar and finds a secret door hidden by an illusion against the room's west wall, though he cannot see any means to unseal the door.
Ezren is searching the room when Grimnir suggests he looks behind the nameplate. Sure enough, the brass nameplate bearing the name "Hollis 'Evil Grin' Thorne" slides to one side revealing a miniature chalkboard and a slender piece of chalk.

Kareem sheds a single tear, though keeps if hidden from the group. Finally, they did something by themselves! He raises up and keeps his shield ready. Secret tunnels proved to be hostile, full of spiders, before.
"This whole plan is very elaborate... I'm sure venture-captain Drandle Dreng is very interested in your report afterwards."

"Be glad you weren't wearing a spiked gauntlet just then."
| GM "The Fox" |
When Ezren writes the word on the chalkboard, the illusory wall fades away and the door opens, revealing a natural stone passageway beyond.
| GM "The Fox" |
The cavern is dark, but there is light on the far side which provides dim illumination. You traverse this cavern to arrive at a small rectangular room.
Several desks are arranged along the northern and eastern edges of this small stone alcove. Whereas the stonework leading to this chamber is rough, the walls in the alcove are polished. A single gem rests among the neatly filed papers on the desk, emitting a soft luminescence that brightens the small room.
Grimnir Hammerhand
|
Grimnir whistles loudly.
"Look whit we hae haur...what's aw thes? It's loch thes shrine hud a clan ay dwarves tae help build secrit tunnels."
The dwarf takes the lead and makes his way through the halls. Seeing the desk and the papers and the gem, he starts looking through everything to see what they have found.
