As long as the door opens, I don't really care how we do it. Lol!

Sovereign Court

After some concerted pushing and pulling (occasionally at cross-purposes), between them, Wulfgar and Theadus are able to lever the door open, revealing a central stairwell - downwards, after a few feet, it becomes completely choked with rubble, but the upper staircase appears to be intact.

Heading upstairs reveals a landing with a door...

1d100 ⇒ 85

...which is locked.

To be clear, in addition to the (locked) door, the staircase continues further up.

Let me know what you wish to do next :-)

EDIT: Also, feel free to place yourself in position in the central (stairwell) room.

Theadus moves up the stairs and tries to open the door. After a few failed try, he turns back to the group and asks "Anybody good with their hands?"

Do we have a lock-picker, or no? If yes, I'll wait for someone to pick the lock. If no, I'll try to kick it down again.

Probably be best to roll both at the same time, then say if it's not trapped, you pick the lock. At least it would speed things up considerably.

Grand Lodge

Might as well!

Can we tell by either; the flights of stairs, or by floors/windows outside; how many levels there are?

Grand Lodge

he had to take off one boot to count that High :)

Sovereign Court

Assuming that each level is of equivalent height, the landing that you are currently on is probably the third of five levels.

Grand Lodge

while everyone else is watching Aeloran pick the lock on the third floor Wulfgar walks upstairs to the fourth floor, if there is a door he will look at it carefully, and then see if it is unlocked.

Sovereign Court

Just to clarify... in order to determine if a door is unlocked, you need to try and open it... which may or may not alert whatever is on the other side.

Growing bored, Wulfgar abandons his companions, and walks upstairs to the next level, where he is met by the sight of an identical-looking door.

Grand Lodge

Naaa, I think a little discretion may be in order here

seeing the door on the fourth floor is also closed, he goes back down stairs, taking his crow bar out of his pack and says

Commrades, if elf thief not able to open that doorrrr, break it down we can, or try doorrrr on next floor

Edit: once I actually thought about going in, I decided it might not be my brightest moment. Wouldn't do for the groups cleric to turn up, I don't know, dead.

Sovereign Court

Aeloran thinks that he almost had it; with a bit more effort, he could probably get there...

24 was not quite enough. However, if you 'Take 20' you would certainly succeed :-)

Grand Lodge

M Elf Investigater (Empiricist Sleuth) 1

He will take 20 then.

Sovereign Court

It takes a few minutes, but eventually, the lock unlocks.

Sovereign Court

Helm opens the door, and steps into the room.

Inside is an interesting sight: Two stone altars, one black and one white, sit at either end of this large chamber, which takes up two wings of the tower on this level. The crumbling remains of wooden benches sag in front of each altar beneath rotting ceiling tapestries. Carved symbols and writings snake along the walls. The burnt corpses of two more reptilian humanoids lie on the floor in the center of the room.

Knowledge(Religion) DC 10:
You easily identify this as a temple dedicated to Nethys, the god of magic, in both of his aspects: protection and destruction. The writings on the walls are quotes from Nethys’s holy book.

Of more immediate concern, however, are the animate skeletons in the room, both of which are surrounded by a halo of flame!

Ebonfeather tosses a sling stone, but it goes wide, and impacts on the ground.

Aeloran decides to maintain his distance.

Sindre tosses a ray of frost, but due to combat, and the wall in the way, the ray misses.

Helm takes a swing at one of the skeletons...

...but is distracted by the flames coruscating around him, and misses.

Theadus then bulls his way into the room, and splits the skeleton from skull to crotch...

...causing the skeleton to explode!

The remaining skeleton continues to harry Wulfgar...

1d6 ⇒ 1 Fire damage. DC 11 Reflex save for half. Wulfgar and Theadus only.

Combat over :-)

Grand Lodge

Wulfgar pulls his helmet off with his left hand, hooking it to his belt, waving to the team. he says

come, come, gather in circle; let me show you trick, learned to me by Old Zhrets

Once everyone injured has gathered around at least within 30 ft. he flings his long greasy hair back, and putting his left hand over his left eye. He starts to stare with his right eye. It turns from being rheumy shades of black and gray; becoming clear, like a snow globe no one has shaken; Instead of a house, or reindeer or a snowman, it is a mountainous stone encasing a greatsword. As Wulfgar looks at each injured person, not taking his hand off of his left eye, they begin to feel rejuvenated. including Wulfgar
